    Salmon Platter Lunch
    Regina W.

I was craving sushi and came here for their lunch special. I'm a big salmon lover so I ordered the salmon lunch set which comes with 5 pieces of salmon nigiri, a salmon maki roll, miso soup, and salad. It was a great value and was a good amount of food for lunch. The salmon was so buttery and high quality! Would definitely recommend for lunch! Service was fast too if you're in a time crunch for lunch.

It was a fully packed house on a Friday night, bustling with families, first-time dates, and friends meeting up to welcome in the weekend. We didn't have a reservation, but were able to get seated within 20-30 minutes. Speaking of the interior, lighting was dim and design was overall nice and welcoming. I would say the environment is casual, not exactly an over-the-top fancy establishment. The menu was expansive and it felt like you could order everything from the sea. This sushi restaurant is more of a sushi roll place where you can add on whatever nigiri pieces that meet your desire; you can do omakase but you're probably better off going to a fully dedicated omakase spot. I thought all the dishes satisfied my belly and tastebuds. A big plus was that the service was efficient operating throughout the house. I would come back to this neighborhood spot, for sure.

Still one of my all time favorite place to get sushi. The fish is so fresh. The omakase is a great deal.

My first time dining in, we ordered omakase and desserts. I was definitely satisfied with quality of omakase and price is great compared to some omakase place in the city. The waiter suggested two different desserts and both were fantastic! We'll definitely be back!

Excellent sushi. Perfect fish, great chefs turning it out quickly and beautifully presented. Busy place. Dropped in on a weeknight and got a table after a few minutes, even though it was packed. Decent menu with a couple of interesting surprises, beer and wine. No cocktails. Would love to see them do omakase or try the kitchen on the next visit if we can tear ourselves away from the addictive sushi rolls.

Need to get the crispy rice tuna!!! So delicious! The service is incredible as well. Great local spot

Great upscale neighborhood sushi spot! The place was dimly lit and perfect for an intimate dinner. All the servers were extremely attentive and the food came out in a timely manner. Came here with my cousin shortly after the restaurant opened for lunch. The restaurant was quickly being filled for lunch so I'm sure it gets super busy for dinner! We ordered the - Yellowtail Jalapeño - Yuzu Ora King Salmon - Salmon Platter - Spicy Tuna Roll - Shrimp Tempura Roll You can tell this restaurant uses high quality fish in all their dishes. Would definitely recommend!

It's hard to write a review for this place as I don't remember much of it but I guess I'll add mine ass there's 800+ reviews and counting for this popular higher end sushi spot in this area. If you're looking for better quality fish than any of the other spots nearby and don't mind paying a premium, I would recommend this place if you're in the area. For other spots, I would recommend Hibino for the mid-high end and Iron Chef House in Brooklyn Heights for the lower end (yes a place with that name happens to serve surprisingly good sushi which makes no sense to me either.) All other spots aside, the lighting here honestly sucks for photographs and for seeing well anything and that can easily be told from all the photos. The fact that a few other people here when I was here months ago were using their camera lights to be able to view things says a lot. I remember ordering the Omakase which has a choice between sushi, sashimi, and a mix along with a more premium option which features fish brought in from Tsukiji Market in Tokyo. I had the non-premium sushi sashimi mix and I think it was around $70 or something similar and honestly it was worth it. It's not the traditional type of omakase where courses are served separately but rather all the pieces came out at the same time. I think the rice quality suffers partially because they serve all these at once so the rice isn't going to be the perfect temperature or texture. The only other thing that's just OK is the miso soup served beforehand which isn't particularly good for a higher end place but for the quality of the fish, it's hard to beat here. For the price point, the raw fish compares favorably to Hibino though I honestly prefer the non-sushi dishes such as their tonkatsu at that wonderful Japanese owned spot. Mid/low 4

Ki is everything I want in an elevated neighborhood sushi restaurant. Reminds me of a spot I grew up going to with my parents back home. It's dimly lit at night, with comfortably spaced out tables and a sushi bar. On weeknights, you can usually walk in without a reservation, But, weekends are usually pretty booked up. Waitlist is easy though :) The owners clearly take great care in creating a menu with lots of crowd pleasers. So many options and everything is super fresh! My friends who are BK natives shared this spot with me and it basically convinced me to move to Boerum Hill. Eddy is really sweet, but everyone at Ki is awesome.

    Chirashi Lunch.

I'm excited to find this Japanese spot in the neighborhood. From the outside, you can easily walk past this spot as the entrance is quite hidden. When you walk in, you're welcome into a dim and romantic room for dining. We arrived at opening and the restaurant filled up in the next half hour. Since we came at 12:30pm, we were able to order from the lunch menu which has various deals. I got the Chirashi Lunch ($23) and the boyfriend got the Chicken Teriyaki Bento ($15). Both dishes included a salad and miso soup, which was great to start with. A lot of people ordered the bento boxes, which is affordable and filling. It has a little bit of everything to complete your meal including a California Roll and gyozas. As for my chirashi bowl, it was perfect. There were 11 various slices of sashimi from tuna to salmon to yellowtail. There was also a couple slices of sweet tamago and pickled radishes to compliment the dish. Everything was so fresh gently placed atop of a banana leaf separating the warm and fresh sushi rice underneath. Even the rice was delicious and I rarely say that! I left with my stomach happily stuffed. This is such a great spot for a date night or for a good lunch special. I'll have to come back to try their omakase too. Plus, service was great and everything came out in a timely manner.

    Seared Tuna

The Fantastic Roll is tasty and colorful, the Spicy Girl Roll has a nice spicy kick, and the Fashion Roll looks beautiful and tastes good. The sushi is fresh, and the staff is friendly. Seared tuna for an appetizer is a must. Definitely worth a visit!

My husband had the kaishin don, I had the Ozakaya donburi set and our girls shared the shoyu tonkatsu ramen. The fish was so incredibly fresh here and the rice was seasoned perfectly. The broth and rice combination was really comforting and satisfying. This dish was something I wanted to try in Japan but did not get a chance to experience when there, so I was excited to try it at Ozakaya. I was really pleasantly surprised by the ramen here as well. Regardless, it's the best salmon roll I've ever had -- buttery with a delicate, fresh flavor wrapped in fragrant rice in perfect proportions. After experiencing the first salmon roll that I could stomach and finally understanding the hype a while ago, I've tried dozens of rolls throughout the city at many price points and this was my favorite experience. It's also relatively very affordable; my meal of a miso cod appetizer (flaky scrumptious simplicity), miso soup, a salmon roll, and green tea cheesecake came to $54 + tip. The service was also excellent. I'm the sort to dine solo with a novel, want to be completely left alone, and not notice the quality of service at all. The waitress provided the feel of an independent experience while also being very attentive, pleasant, and informative. There was an art to her skill that prompted me to observe and note an art to the service I rarely do. The staff was very watchful and reaction; everyone was well cared for. I'm inspired to try something over than a salmon roll. This seems to be the place to do it. I'll also add I was surprised to read the review on them refusing to let a guest take their leftovers home. I had just a few bites of my dessert remaining, and they asked me if I'd like it boxed unprompted.
