At the main entrance they had a table full of earrings and other jewelries with sale signs. This is definitely a great way to draw people in! They have a wonderful selection of Indian clothes (mostly lehengas) and jewelry. They have other items ranging from ready-made blouses, Short tops, men's clothing, sarees. -Necklaces are $75+ -Lehengas are $200+ -Tops are $15+ I looked at some of the ready-made blouses, however didn't purchase any because I needed to make sure they matched my current outfits. My PT therapist mentioned Montague & Son The Birkenstock Store located in Herndon and yesterday I finally dropped by. Located close to Lotte Plaza and Fair Oaks Hospital, it's a small store but packed with Birkenstock sandals and other ancillaries . I was met entering by a young lady (Ceres?)who took her time to help me decide which sandals would fit and what colors were available (none of mine were so went with second best). She was very thorough, up to the point where another young lady who was obviously a close friend stopped by and then I had her divided attention to check-out. I have my sandals and tried them as directed for an hour first day and the tried the second day. It hurt in the top of my foot and I had to read the reviews to find out why it was hurting. Would have been nice to have been told that by my associate. Not cheap so pay attention in the store. I overheard another associate going deeper into the physical aspects of the sandals so try and see if you can enter, walk around and listen in to conversations to see which associate seem to be most knowledgeable. Hopefully the sandals will break in shortly and I can experience the benefit.

While we were waiting there were two people in front of us using the machine on their own. There was no one from the store helping them. I assumed I could do the same(use the machine). I even asked the people if they were done. When I was asking my husband to take his shoes off a person on my back told me "NO, YOU DO NOT DO THAT" I turned around and told him there was nobody there and the other people were using it. He told me with a hash tone I HAVE TO HELP YOU. I literally thought he was going to tell me to help me understand the results of the machine. The only thing he did was press start and he LEFT. HE LEFT without an explanation or NOTHING. I felt like a person being joked by a selfish guy. NO One in the store said anything. We turned around and left. I took a picture of the people that were at the store and only white people were being helped . I'm sorry but I have to say it, there are stores that are very racist and this is one of them. Customer service is the worst :(

The clothes inside equally amazing and surprisingly affordable. Lots of famous brands and really high quality clothing in a variety of sizes. They don't have fitting rooms which I was at first not happy about, but as it turns out everyone just changes in front of the mirrors in a back corner. It was the most fun communal shopping experience I've ever had, getting feedback on everything I tried on. This is my go-to shop for dance clothes and work clothes from here on out.

After a short amount of time we were approached by one of the owners in case we needed assistance. I did not need assistance and neither did my wife. Still, we appreciate the offer. I saw one outfit I liked, but my wife doesn't wear skirts or dresses. Something she picked up from her mother. Nevertheless, I liked the dog picture, but will have to imagine someone else wearing in my mind. Guess I will put it on one of my characters, but I digress. There are other items I this store and I only got a glimpse of what is sold here. Still, the staff was friendly and I will pay another visit to this store. I might just find something I could use next time.

I ventured in and was wooed to make several lovely purchases by the very attentive shopkeeper! One cool thing is that we discovered we have variants of the same surname! (My husband is half Korean.) It's a relatively uncommon Korean name, so that was pretty neat. I probably wouldn't have bought anything (the items were a bit pricey for my income), but Kum (the nice shopkeeper) gave me discounts after I asked if there were any sale items. I realized that you can definitely barter a bit, especially if it's your first time. They want to make you a repeat customer! I was surprised by the pretty leather handbags. They were a bit too expensive for me, but my eye was caught. They have a variety of colors and styles (more unique than you'll find at TJ Maxx). The clothing was interesting. A lot of the styles were not quite for me (intentionally loose blouses with pretty involved/sparkly patterns), but there were a few that I absolutely loved. I ended up getting two BEAUTIFUL flowy skirts, of very good quality. It's so hard to find delicately made, modest, beautifully worked skirts like these. I bought a blouse that has a lovely pattern (it's a fabric that Kum assured me is sought-after in Korea). I bought the loveliest little tulle scarf (they had a variety of colors...could have bought them all). Kum was constantly checking on me as I was trying things on and brought me tops and bottoms based on what I'd picked out. As a former sales associate for a women's boutique, I can tell you that this strategy WORKS and is actually appreciated by customers who just want a little encouragement (and a little pampering, if I'm being honest!). She even brought me some bold kitten heels...that cracked me up! But I was actually considered some black-and-white striped ones...and I never in a million years would have tried them on without her suggestion. I also bought something I never thought I'd buy...stylish tennis shoes. They're absolutely adorable (see the photo I posted). They were thoughtfully displayed in the fitting room stall (brilliant marketing move, putting attractive handbags and a variety of shoes in there to catch your eye!). They look like they're emulating a designer (I'm not in the know enough to know which one) and are super cute. Kum asked me how I'd found her shop. I had seen a few Korean boutiques while getting amazing authentic Korean comfort food, and did a simple search on Apple Maps for "Korean apparel." There are several other boutiques in the area which I look forward to perusing. She said she would love to attract more visitors who aren't Korean. I told her that I agreed, that I thought lots of ladies would love her store. She asked if I could leave a review and I enthusiastically assented! Visit this store if you want to spend an afternoon imagining what it would be like to shop in Korea! Don't worry...prices are displayed in USD, not Korean won. ;) There's something for everyone here, and I bet you'll be asked where you found your purchase!
