A couple of seasons ago I had them tailor a Tumi late fall / winter jacket. The price of the…read morejacket was quite the deal (last of them). The jacket was a bit too large, arms too long. But even after having I tailored at Tangs, the over all cost was less than the original retail price of the jacket ($250), yet now is a perfect fit. There is seriously something to having your clothes fit you instead of the mannequin. (previous review below) Fast efficient friendly service, a great experience. After having fair to midland tailoring from suit shops, I decided to purchase a couple of suits that would need tailoring but did not get the suit shop's tailor. Instead this time I decided I would spend the extra money to have the suits tailored by a specialist. It turned out to be a great decision. Best fit I have ever had since I bought a custom suit when I was in my 20s. My fitting was not only accurate, but educational. Ms. Byrom's expert eye applied, offered that the suit jacket would be best fitted by rotating the arms, adjusting the sides, the back, the length. It was what I considered a renovation... it just happened to use the same material. When I noted this, Ms. Byrom said, "well, that's exactly how you should buy your suits... by the material" and she proceed to educate me on the art of tailoring. It was fascinating, even with tips on where and most importantly *when* to by suits and what labels to watch which use the best materials. The fitting seemed to be over before I noticed. When a suit fits well, you can "feel" it. I really didn't want to wear my other suits afterwords. (I have a couple of jackets that need Ms. Byrom's attention now...) In wearing the rebuilt suites, I have received a number of complements from both men and women. There are times when looking your best really counts. A great haircut, some svelte shoes polished to perfection, a well-cut suit tailored by Tang's and you can't go wrong.

I was looking at the size of a slip dress and immediately got yelled at by one of the sales associates. She told us again if we wanted help to just let her know and to not touch anything because we would "ruin the silk" or "stretch it out". She said this in a very rude tone that my other friend and I immediately left the store because we did not feel welcome. My third friend stayed because she was truly was looking for something to buy. When we left her there, she asked the same saleswoman if they had a bra in her size. The saleswoman proceeded to explain that they didn't carry her size and that her size would be in a juvenile line. She continued to explain that once we woman pass the age of 13, we "grow more into our figure". After being embarrassed, my friends left the store and told us what happened. My friends and I are in our 20's and are not children. This is an extremely disappointing experience and we have never seen this bad of customer service. You guys should really look into that.

Really cute little Korean clothing and accessories boutique!! I'm a fan of Korean style/aesthetic,…read moreand have always wanted to visit one of the little boutiques in Annandale, VA. I ventured in and was wooed to make several lovely purchases by the very attentive shopkeeper! One cool thing is that we discovered we have variants of the same surname! (My husband is half Korean.) It's a relatively uncommon Korean name, so that was pretty neat. I probably wouldn't have bought anything (the items were a bit pricey for my income), but Kum (the nice shopkeeper) gave me discounts after I asked if there were any sale items. I realized that you can definitely barter a bit, especially if it's your first time. They want to make you a repeat customer! I was surprised by the pretty leather handbags. They were a bit too expensive for me, but my eye was caught. They have a variety of colors and styles (more unique than you'll find at TJ Maxx). The clothing was interesting. A lot of the styles were not quite for me (intentionally loose blouses with pretty involved/sparkly patterns), but there were a few that I absolutely loved. I ended up getting two BEAUTIFUL flowy skirts, of very good quality. It's so hard to find delicately made, modest, beautifully worked skirts like these. I bought a blouse that has a lovely pattern (it's a fabric that Kum assured me is sought-after in Korea). I bought the loveliest little tulle scarf (they had a variety of colors...could have bought them all). Kum was constantly checking on me as I was trying things on and brought me tops and bottoms based on what I'd picked out. As a former sales associate for a women's boutique, I can tell you that this strategy WORKS and is actually appreciated by customers who just want a little encouragement (and a little pampering, if I'm being honest!). She even brought me some bold kitten heels...that cracked me up! But I was actually considered some black-and-white striped ones...and I never in a million years would have tried them on without her suggestion. I also bought something I never thought I'd buy...stylish tennis shoes. They're absolutely adorable (see the photo I posted). They were thoughtfully displayed in the fitting room stall (brilliant marketing move, putting attractive handbags and a variety of shoes in there to catch your eye!). They look like they're emulating a designer (I'm not in the know enough to know which one) and are super cute. Kum asked me how I'd found her shop. I had seen a few Korean boutiques while getting amazing authentic Korean comfort food, and did a simple search on Apple Maps for "Korean apparel." There are several other boutiques in the area which I look forward to perusing. She said she would love to attract more visitors who aren't Korean. I told her that I agreed, that I thought lots of ladies would love her store. She asked if I could leave a review and I enthusiastically assented! Visit this store if you want to spend an afternoon imagining what it would be like to shop in Korea! Don't worry...prices are displayed in USD, not Korean won. ;) There's something for everyone here, and I bet you'll be asked where you found your purchase!

After a short amount of time we were approached by one of the owners in case we needed assistance. I did not need assistance and neither did my wife. Still, we appreciate the offer. I saw one outfit I liked, but my wife doesn't wear skirts or dresses. Something she picked up from her mother. Nevertheless, I liked the dog picture, but will have to imagine someone else wearing in my mind. Guess I will put it on one of my characters, but I digress. There are other items I this store and I only got a glimpse of what is sold here. Still, the staff was friendly and I will pay another visit to this store. I might just find something I could use next time.

At the time of purchase, the owner advised me not to have the gown altered until I was ready to wear it, and I followed that recommendation. This year, when my son's wedding was rescheduled, I returned to Zoya's for alterations. I was extremely disappointed to receive a quote of $1,588, plus an additional $45 for cups. (See below) Although the staff at Zoya's have been pleasant and welcoming, I found the alteration charges to be unreasonably high, particularly compared with prices I had paid elsewhere. For comparison, Maes Boutique charged me $350 to alter another Mother of the Groom gown. Because of the significant difference in pricing, I decided to have the alterations completed by another professional boutique, which is charging me $380 for comparable work. This experience was very disappointing. Customers purchasing high-end gowns should receive clear, fair, and reasonable pricing for alterations and related services. Based on my experience, I cannot and do not recommend Zoya's Boutique. I encourage others to ask about alteration costs in advance and compare prices before making their purchase at Zoya's!!!!!

My stylist, Serki, was incredible, I was so disheartened after checking out another shop the day before and was worried my points weren't getting across. I showed her pictures of what I wanted and the first two dresses she pulled were on the right track, but she took my comments into account and pulled my dress for me on her third try! It was a really lovely experience, we may have been there on a slow day but she let us take lots of pictures and FaceTime my wedding party. She was also great with helping me try on some different accessories and decide on the style of veil I wanted!
