Stopped in for lunch on a Friday. Waited in a short line. Very friendly service and the food was ready pretty quick. Amazing ribs that were soft but still had a bit of chew to them. The mac & cheese is so different and interesting. We loved it. Would definitely recommend. Parking is a bit weird here and all the seating is outside, so be prepared for that but definitely go anyways!
As a Middle Eastern who loves BBQ, I had to try KGBBQ while I was in Texas. It definitely did not disappoint! I got the rice and lamb chops, and they were SO good. The lamb was cooked perfectly and had so much flavor. But that chimichurri... SO good! It went perfectly with everything. Definitely one of those spots I'm glad I tried while visiting Texas. If you love BBQ and bold flavors, you have to check this place out!
ABSOLUTE BANGER OF TX BBQ! Here's why: Arrived at 11:05AM to beat any possibility of a crowd; still wasn't the first customer, but definitely in the TOP 5. For my order, I got an order of the Za'atar & Pomegranate Glazed Pork Ribs ($17), 1 Lamb Chop ($9.50), and an Egyptian Mac n' Cheese (made COWBOY - added smoked brisket) ($15). Total came to $41.50. First of all, the space is spacious! There are two areas for eating outside --- and although I never went "inside", I did see a building with people going in-and-out of, I assume that's part of the establishment as well? A good amount of fans to keep you comfortable during your stay which is a nice touch. Let's go to the food: I had to give the mac n' cheese the first try --- I've been disappointed too many times before. LOVED IT! First of all, KG BBQ use shells for their mac, and it's not just "queso" --- its seasoned, has some tomato in it, and when it's made "Egyptian" --- you add that beautiful amount of brisket and sauce which just enhance the whole dish. The ribs were also phenomenal. They were fall off the bone tender, but not fragile in any way. The marinade was amazing, and topped with pieces of pomegranate and served with some spiced onions, it's the COMPLEXITY. Often times with TEXAS BBQ, it gets heavy quick. Having these contrasting yet complimentary flavors just makes you want to eat more! It's a complete sensory experience, visually, smell, and taste. The famous lamb chop was also amazing, and served with a little herb concoction on the side that is again --- needed --- to cut through the richness of the meat and fattiness. I've heard some complaints from food bloggers which is valid: there is a good amount of fat on each of these chops, so you better SAVOR the meat on that chop! It'll be done in a few bites! Only feedback? Food temp. It wasn't cold, but it wasn't hot either. In any case, I was thoroughly pleased by KG BBQ and you should definitely pay a visit!
We were on the hunt for the best barbecue in Austin and heard wonderful reviews about KG BBQ. When we arrived at the address, the sign for KG BBQ wasn't immediately visible. We parked and headed toward the food truck, and it turned out to be a fantastic find! Today, we tried the lamb chops, pomegranate pork ribs, salad, and cardamom pistachio rice pudding. The lamb chops were a bit mild in flavor, but the pomegranate pork ribs exploded with taste, definitely surpassing Stiles Swirch. The salad was a bit salty and looked like it was prepared the day before. However, the highlight was the cardamom pistachio rice pudding--I could enjoy that all day long!
KG BBQ is located in a food park area next to a bar/restaurant. Parking can be a bit difficult as most places in Austin TX. You walk up to a food trailer and wait in line to order. Place your order, pay and they give you a pager that will light up and buzz when your order is ready. The brisket was good as was the sausage but the lamb chops were the best. Go and give it a try.
Came here at 1 PM on a Friday for lunch. Put our order in at the truck and sat down in the outdoor seating area, the food came out a few minutes later. The sumac & cinnamon lamb shoulder was fantastic, the two spices worked quite well together and the lamb was rich. The oum ali (Egyptian bread pudding) was great as well, the hazelnuts and golden raisins added a nice texture to the bread pudding, definitely recommend checking this place out!
Overall: 4.5/5 [dine in] We placed an online order for pickup on a Saturday and the earliest available time was 2 hours out. A couple of things to note: they charge a 10% online order service charge and a 3% credit card surcharge. When I got to the pickup window they asked if I wanted the food to go or dine in, and we chose to dine in so we could eat it fresh. They had to go containers available at the truck if you needed them. The portions looked small but were actually pretty filling. 1/2 lb Pomegranate and Za'atar Glazed Pork Ribs ($17): Came with 2 ribs that were okay. They were a little dry and lacking flavor on their own but tasted much better dipped in the pomegranate barbecue sauce. Combo Rice Bowl ($20): Came with mediterranean yellow rice, baladi salad, sauce, protein, cinnamon candied nuts, and pomegranate seeds. For the combo, you get to choose 2 proteins. I went with brisket and kofta (ground beef and lamb). Both were really good but a tad salty so the baladi salad helped balance that out. Egyptian Cowboy ($15): I chose lamb for this and it was the star of the show. The pulled lamb shoulder was incredibly tender and flavorful. The smoked mac and cheese was really good too but the rich bechamel was a bit much for us. The sumac pickled onions helped balance out the heaviness of both the mac and cheese and the lamb shoulder. Cardamom Pistachio Rice Pudding ($9.50): Pricey for rice pudding but I wanted to try the unique flavor. It was light but the cardamom flavor was strong. Interesting to try once but I wouldn't order it again.
Earlier this month, I arrived at KG BBQ early when there was no line and ordered the Lamb Bowl, Mediterranean rice, pulled lamb shoulder, baladi salad, (classic Texas buttermilk with roasted beet puree, fresh dill, jalapenos, and celery), tahini, candied nuts and pomegranate seeds and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Also, I was able to have a little chat with KG and I told him about my dissatisfaction with the Lamb Chop as it was a little too rare for my satisfaction and he explained that the Lamb Chops are grilled medium-rare, like a steak and that I should try the Lamb Bacon Ribs. Well, the other day, I ordered the Lamb Bacon Ribs with their chimichurri on the side and I was not disappointed. I definitely plan to return to feast on my favourite, the Za'atar and Pomegranate Pork Ribs.
Such an unassuming food truck, but don't let that fool you. This spot is a hidden gem! Michelin rated, high quality BBQ. Love the Egyptian twist. The flavors of everything were spectacular. Stand out was definitely the mediterranean rice. I would have never thought to mix BBQ with rice, but this works. The soft tender meat with the delicious sides makes the perfect bite. Delicious meal!
KG BBQ is unique and it is BOMB. I came by after work one day since I'd heard friends rave about this place and it got a Michelin rec in 2024. It's a simple looking black food truck in a busy parking lot, and the day I came was a Saturday when it was raining fairly heavily. Despite that, the lot was mostly full but there were a few spots available. There were about 5-6 people in line ahead of me and a few others still waiting for their food. I ordered the pita which you can request to do 1/2 and 1/2, so I got 1/2 brisket and 1/2 kofta. The kofta was certainly unique but I didn't like it as much as the brisket which was absolutely delicious and prepared so well. It comes with cubed marinated veg and a yogurt sauce to pour on if you get take away. I also ordered the cardamom pistachio rice pudding because I love those flavors and it was very smooth, not too sweet, and easy to eat. I'd love to go back to try the Dum Ali sometime. Overall absolutely would rec a visit to KG if you like bbq, the Egyptian flare to it is super cool and it's delicious! The staff are also so friendly.
This Egyptian BBQ food truck was so good and such a unique find. We got the brisket bowl, the cowboy mac and cheese with brisket, and the pork ribs, and everything was delicious. The brisket bowl was definitely the standout for me. It was so different from anything I've had before--it even had cranberries in it--but all the flavors came together perfectly. The cowboy mac and cheese with brisket was really good too, but I'd probably get the bowl again next time. The pork ribs were the best bite of the whole meal. They fell right off the bone and were so soft and tender. We split everything between two people and were completely stuffed by the end. Such a fun spot.
I wanted to try their rice bowls after hearing praises about it. I opted for the brisket. It was so good! All the flavors from all the components balanced out well. I liked the pomegranates! I wish the nuts were a little smaller though (it was a little difficult to eat with everything else going on) and that there were more pieces of brisket. It was hot, so I decided to eat inside the bar + they have soda you can buy. The bbq definitely lives up to the hype!
Surprisingly not too bus on Saturday lunch! We got some lamb chops, brisket, salad, and rice. We left full and happy :D

I've heard great things about KG BBQ for over a year now but never found the time to try it until last week. Popular for blending Texas barbecue with some traditional Egyptian flavors, this barbecue trailer offers some of your usual barbecue meats but also provides its own unique twist on some dishes. When we arrived on a late Sunday morning, the line already wrapped halfway around the brewery next door - and when we had finished around 1pm, the line was twice as long as it was when we had started! It took us around an hour from getting in line to getting our food since they took a break from taking orders to let the kitchen catch up. Once you order, you can grab a table outside, or inside the brewery in case it gets too hot. Now for the food: Brisket: Good bark, nice smoky flavor. However, the slices we got were quite dry, which was disappointing. Maybe it was just an off day, but I would skip this next time. 2/5 Pomegranate glazed ribs: Great balance of flavors - the rich, smoky, fall-off-the-bone pork cut through by the slightly sweet, slightly sour pomegranate glaze made this one of the best ribs I've had in Austin. The pomegranate added a freshness that helped counteract all the heaviness of the meat. 5/5 Tri tip (Sunday special): Tender, smoky, and had that characteristic beefy flavor that usually accompanies a nicely cooked piece of Tri tip. Came with a chimichurri that was a little heavy on the salt, but in small amounts added some nice notes. Nothing crazy about this dish in my opinion - still a good Tri tip. 4/5 Mac and cheese: Creamy, cheesy, and topped with some spices that really set this side apart. The za'atar sprinkled on the top of this added an earthy, nutty flavor that worked really well with the richness of the bechamel and pasta. One of my favorites, although I'm always a sucker for a good Mac and cheese. 5/5 Potato salad: Pink potato salad with a heavy yogurt and dill flavor. I really enjoyed this but my girlfriend did not, so if you don't like dill this might not be for you. 4.5/5 Baladi Salad: Refreshing and tart - has the classic Mediterranean flavors you'd expect from this type of salad. Tomatoes and cucumbers were fresh and crisp, with the vinegar and cumin keeping the palette ready for more. As good or better as you'd get anywhere else. 4/5 read more

The food was a delight to the taste buds. Who knew that the combination of pomegranates and zaatar would bring out the smokiness of the ribs. The bbq I've had. It was delightful experience from start to finish. Can't wait to come back! read more

PSA: Don't go here unless you want your life changed forever! It's SO GOOD! My favorite thing is to go with a handful of people and sample most things on the menu. There is such a unique variety of flavors. If you are going solo, I recommend the brisket rice bowl--that's the best way to get an overall idea of the Texas BBQ/Egyptian fusion. Also, the ribs are insane. Also, also, the chicken is so flavorful--I love to get extra to toss in the air fryer and eat throughout the week. read more

Wow!! I was on my to instellar bbq to give a second shot after a disappointing first experience, when I arrived the line was long so I decided try KG BBQ, I'm so glad I went. Blew instellar bbq away. The spices were so unique and tasteful! The brisket was very moist and the ribs were amazing! Highly recommend this spot! read more
The brisket rice bowl was really good, it had a complex flavor profile: salty, fatty, sweet, creamy. So many elements in one dish, but it all comes together wonderfully. Extremely satisfying as a dish, I wouldn't mind having it a few times a week. My friend said he'd be down to just buy a whole container full of the rice bow, it's that good! The rice pudding is quite delish as well. Decent amount of parking, it shares a spot with a brick & mortar spot. There's a decent amount of outside seating. Keep an eye out for this BBQ spot in future rankings! read more

THE BIG: Egyptian - Texas BBQ fusion! Food truck off of Manor road close to Mueller town center. Situated right outside of Oddwood brewing. THE BLACK AND WHITE: Bae and I came here after a long day of winery hopping in Fredericksburg and needed to rebase our stomach. We ordered online for a 7pm pickup, but when we got there, our food wasn't ready and we had to wait for 30 mins for our food to be made. I dont know how difficult it was to cut or serve 4 meats, no preparations but that was a disappointment. We ordered a quarter pound of four meats: Grilled chicken Kebab, Brisket, Pomegranate glazed pork ribs, and lamb bacon ribs along with a couple of sauces. Be warned the food is really salty. I didn't feel it until a few minutes afterwards but the salt bloat is real. The favorite for me was the pomegranate ribs ( a bit dry) and the chicken kebab thigh. THE FINAL BAMBOO: Overall the damage done here was around $50 for four 1/4 lb meats and the sauces. We're on a no carb diet, so I definitely want to come back to try the mediterranean rice. It looks colorful. Great vibes and if you need to wash down the meats, you have a Oddwood brewery close by. read more

During my trip I consumed so much BBQ I can still taste it when I say it. However, it's important to learn that while the brisket may be phenomenal how would you rank what's paired with it. The KG sides were unbelievable, full of flavor and very unique. In fact, at this spot I never tried the brisket. I had never seen Texas style BBQ with an Egyptian twist so I devoured all of the varieties of lamb they had. With what I heard online I expected the lamb to exceed my expectations, it was even better, their sides taught me just how important those components are for a successful pairing. Honestly, it was such a blessing to discover this spot! read more

This Egyptian bbq food truck is the best, most unique bbq Texas has ever had. One bite into the rice bowl and you will see why. The rice bowls come with yellow fragrant rice (saffron possibly?) cashews, pomegranate, and either moist brisket or smoky chicken shawarma. The two meats are a tie for me in superior flavor and tenderness. I did not want to stop eating these! It was definitely worth $16 because of how big a portion and how delicious it was. The meats ordered by the quarter pound are very tasty and juicy. The lamb chops are beautiful and well spiced even though it also comes with a side of homemade mint chimmichurri. The pork ribs were satisfying. The pink potato salad was a perfect side to pair with the meats. The sauce is mixed with blended beet, and is quite eye catching! The pistachio rice pudding was a delicious nutty dessert. We scarfed it down easily! KG BBQ has been open for three weeks. They are next door to Oddwood Ales. Before any Eater article comes out on this place, I suggest beating the long lines and coming sooner rather than later! read more

Thank you so much Deborah! It’s customers like you that we do it all…
We decided to check-out James Beard nominated KG bbq on the way home earlier today. We've never had Egyptian bbq before and were intrigued. We had the Egyptian cowboy mac & cheese, lamb bacon rib with mint chimichurri, and bread pudding Taste was pretty good overall but rib was very fatty and the portions were a bit small for the prices imo. Id like to give them another shot and just try a few meats by the pound. read more
The line was about 25 minutes to get through. It really was not a long Waite considering you can get drinks while a friend is in line. We ordered the combo bowl, Mac and cheese, a lamb pop and sausage. It was a great way to get a variety of wood while out getting too much food. My favorite was the bowl of course. The texture and flavors were so unique. I love the Egyptian flair they added to Texas bbq.I will be bringing people to try this place for sure. read more
I ate a lot of BBQ in 2023 and continue to do so in 2024 and KG BBQ, while not exactly traditional, is my favorite BBQ spot ever. It was a top 3 meal for me in 2023 and they did not even have a few of the proteins that I really wanted when I visited. Everything was fantastic, KG's unique take on the proteins were amazing and the sides were the best I have ever had. Here is what we had: - lamb shoulder: So good that I have since smoked my own lamb shank - Smoked chicken kebab: I was a little disappointed that I had to settle for the chicken as it's usually not the most exciting BBQ meat, but wow, I was blown away. - smoked kofta: Good, but probably my least favorite of the meats. Sides: - Egyptian baladi salad: So flavorful and refreshing, would definitely get again. - pink buttermilk potato salad: best potato salad ever, not like the typical boring mayonnaise based potato salad. - Mediterranean rice: Incredible flavor and texture. I would get all of these sides again. I can't wait to go back and try the other meats. read more
The line moved quickly because the ordering system was efficient. You put in your order and got a beeper - much better than getting all your food at once. The food was varied for us. The actual meat itself (aside from the pork rib) was not that great. It was very salty, which is not my taste. The bowl and pita were good, but would have been even better with different meat. I would go back to get the brisket bowl. The food truck is located at Oddwood Brewery and they have outdoor and indoor seating. Brisket bowl - 5 Pork rib - 4 Lamb rib - 1 Mac and cheese - 4 Bread pudding - 5 (not overly sweet) Kofta pita - 5 read more
An interesting take on Texas barbecue - there are Middle Eastern spices and condiments to go with your food, plus very good naan-style bread that you can eat the brisket with. The wait here is a bit shorter than at some of the flagship barbecue spots in Austin, so you won't be hungry for long. Try this if you're looking for a fusion that actually works! read more

We had a great experience at KG, and got lucky by coming early on a weekday. There was still a small crowd, but the line moved quickly, and we got our food pretty fast. We opted for the brisket, lamb rubs and bacon lamb ribs, as well as the mac n cheese, cucumber salad with feta, and rice. We ordered an extra cup of sauce and chimichurri just to be sure, as well as a side of feta. The brisket, in all 4 of our opinions, was a bit a tough for Texas standards. It was very good, the flavor was there, the bark was great, but it didn't fall apart by any means. The lamb ribs were probably our favorite, with such a unique flavor on them, but still the lamb taste shined through. The lamb bacon ribs though, we found to be a complete waste of money. There was hardly any edible meat on them, and were quite a struggle to get through in terms of pulling them apart and discerning what was edible, and what was not. All in all, we spent $150 total and the sides definitely outshined the meat. I truly, truly had higher hopes, and had been following chef Kareem for quite some time. He was not there that day though, and I think that if we were to return for another try, we would go with the bowls or the shawarma instead! read more

TLDR: Amazing 4.5/5 ! Will come back earlier to try Lamb Chops that ran out. Came on a pretty day Sunday at 1:30PM, line wrapped near brewery entrance, waited in line for 90mins to order and 20mins for food to come out. Some meats ran out but we should have came earlier. They have a good ordering system. Menu not confusing and quick to order. Seating at brewery can be limited. We opted to take to go. Brisket: 3.5/5 nothing special. Sauce helps. (Don't let this score deter you) Lamb shoulder: 5/5 sooo good Chicken: 5/5. Super juicy and lots of spices. Surprisingly my favorite! Sausage: 3.5/5 flavor comes through. Would rate this higher but the lamb and chicken were that much better. Mac&cheese: 5/5 very different and blends very well with whatever meats you get. Potato Salad: 3.5/5 vibrant, tasty. Not the best judge of this but me and my wife agreed we couldn't eat a lot of it Bread pudding: 5/5. Something about all those flavors doesn't sound right but definitely tastes right! read more

3.5/5 original location near Oddwood. Weather was mild, parked in the strip mall nearby since the small parking lot in front of Oddwood was full. Line was short, food came out fairly quickly. Easy self-service and bussing. Covered outdoor seating area was nice with lots of picnic tables, easy ordering from the brewery. We ordered a platter for 4 people to share and tried most of the sides: beet potato salad, cucumber tomato salad, tomato mac & cheese, and rice (with nuts and raisins). The potato salad was by far the best, although the mac and cheese wasn't bad. The cucumber salad was fine but nothing special. The rice was slightly dry. Meat wise, we got lamb chops, brisket, lamb shoulder and ribs. The lamb chops were juicy and tender - my definite favorite. The lamb dishes were the best parts of the meal! The brisket was dry, even with the BBQ sauce. The ribs were good, but didn't feel special. We tried the pomegranate BBQ sauce, tzatziki sauce and tahini sauce. The platter came with a chimichurri-like mixture of herbs that was quite nice, slightly spicy and less garlic-based than chimichurri is. The pickled spiced onions were excellent. read more

Stopped by here today with my girlfriend and cousin. Super solid little spot! I'm visiting from San Diego, but my cousin lives here and had never been here. We ordered the lamb shoulder, the pomegranate ribs, and the brisket, and the Baladi salad. Can't say I'm super well-versed in bbq, but this place was super good. The brisket was moist and super well seasoned. The ribs, while not the absolute best I've ever had, were sweet and smoky. The lamb shoulder was actually my favorite and was spiced super well. The 3 sauces were not needed but good: solid bbq sauce, a tzatziki type sauce, and a tahini deal. We also each got a hibiscus mint iced tea that was super refreshing! All in all, the perfect first stop on our little Austin trip. Would recommend anyone visiting or (per my cousin) local to check this spot out. read more

I was really looking forward to coming to this place, and glad I made it out. After hearing about and watching that famous YouTube video I was convinced that I'd love the place, however as good as it was, it left me slightly disappointed. Out of the three, the Ahwa (coffee) was the tastiest, but at $8 it is pricey for a small cup. The lamb pita was very good, however the plate was drenching with unappetizing oil before I even lifted the pita out of it. The lamb was so greasy that I used up six napkins before I was done with it. There has to be some sort of a way they can drain the excess oil off the meat before serving it... the Mac and cheese I did not really care for. Yes it has a twist to it: zatar seasoning, tomatoes and a non traditional pasta, but it just did not stand out, i would much rather have the original. Presentation and preparation were excellent, the food came out fast and neat. Will definitely be back to try more items off the menu, and hoping to increase my score after the next visit. read more

This place was very unique as they did Egyptian styled BBQ!! They had a lot of lamb forward options instead of your traditional meats, but they did have brisket & pork ribs! The sides were pretty good, we go the pink buttermilk potato salad and the Egyptian Baladi Salad - both great flavors and fresh to eat! For meats we tried the lamb chop, pulled lamb shoulder & pork rips! All very rich in flavors and they added nice savory seasonings but also had pomegranate to give a little sweetening! If you're looking for something outside of traditional bbq this is a fun twist! But prepared to spend more then other bbq places! It was a bit pricey! read more

We decided to check out KG BBQ after hearing great things from friends and seeing the owner compete on BBQ Showdown on Netflix. Our order included the brisket rice bowl, sumac- and cinnamon-rubbed lamb shoulder, Egyptian mac 'n' cheese, Egyptian baladi salad, and hibiscus iced tea. The brisket rice bowl and Egyptian mac 'n' cheese were phenomenal and were rich, flavorful, and uniquely spiced. I especially loved the bursts of pomegranate, which added a nice contrast to the savory dishes. I've really been enjoying how different cultural influences are being incorporated into BBQ lately. The Baladi salad was fresh but not particularly memorable, and the lamb shoulder, unfortunately, was a bit dry and underwhelming. Service was great, and we were lucky to only wait about 10 minutes in line. I've heard the wait can sometimes be up to an hour, so we lucked out arriving around 3 p.m. on a Sunday. Sadly, the sausage and pork ribs were sold out by then. There's plenty of seating around the food truck, along with heaters to keep warm, which was especially appreciated on the particularly cold day we visited read more
Ordered online, parked at the side of the trailer, wasn't too busy, pickup process a breeze. The brisket and ribs were decent. Not "Omg! Melts in your mouth, best BBQ EVER!" quality, but they got the job done. I had hoped for more from the meat, a dime a dozen in Austin. The Baladi salad was a standout, with its succulent, sweet pomegranate seeds that burst in your mouth. Surprisingly, I even swallowed the seeds this time - a first for me. That sensation of the seeds popping was probably the highlight of my meal! The brisket/kafta rice bowl was enjoyable. Hearty. I suspect the kafta might have some lamb in it, as it had that subtle gamey flavor that I'm not particularly fond of - but that's just me. As for the mac and cheese, it was alright. It leaned a bit towards the salty and rich side for my taste. All in all, the meal came with a hefty price tag of around $80. read more

Loved this BBQ platter from KG BBQ. The truck was started by Kareem El-Ghayesh, an Egyptian who moved to TX to learn and practice BBQ, incorporating Egyptian and Mediterranean flavors. Brisket was terrific and tender, with delicious, crispy bark. I also got the brisket as shwarma, which comes with a small side of baladi salad and tahini to pour over the pitas, which was great. I loved the olive-stuffed pork sausages + chimichurri combination as well, despite not being an olives fan. I liked the chicken kebabs, with their marination of sumac, garlic, thyme, and honey...but they were overpriced at $30/lb. Not quite sure what made the mac & cheese "Egyptian" other than the tomato garlic sauce base, but it was very good mac. And a final shoutout to the pistachio rice pudding, where the halvah and cardamom flavors really shine through. There's also a much more extensive lamb menu that really show off the Egyptian flavors, such as lamb chops, lamb bacon ribs, and kefta kabobs. But I don't like lamb, sadly. But there's plenty on the KG menu for everyone, especially fans of Levantine cuisine who are BBQ-curious. read more

Finally got a chance to try this place out and it did not disappoint! We got the pomegranate glazes pork ribs and oh my gosh these were so good!! They have the perfect salty sweet flavor combo to just make you keep coming back for more. The lamb bacon ribs had the typical more gamey flavor of lamb but it was toned down by the bacon very nicely. The brisket had a great flavor but was not the most tender brisket I've tried - may have just been our batch. The chimichurri and bbq sauce went well with the brisket. For sides we had the Baladi salad which had the perfect zing and brightness to balance the meats. The rice was so good with the nuts and fruit in it. And the Mac & cheese was unlike any other Mac I've had before -in a good way! And lastly I tried the hibiscus mint iced tea and it was a really refreshing in the heat. Definitely will be back soon! read more
KG BBQ has been on my list for quite some time and finally made it there. Lunch on a Thursday was the perfect time to go as there was no line! The three hour drive from Dallas is 1000000% worth it... Run, don't walk to this place!! The food looks amazing and it tastes even better!! Egyptian spices meets Texas BBQ and it's a match made in heaven. The sumac and cinnamon spiced lamb shoulder... OMG!! a taste explosion you don't expect and sinfully delicious!! I also had the pomegranate and za'tar spiced pork ribs. Again the pairing of spices is simply out of this world!!! Finally the brisket. Smokey, their spices... OMG!! Melted on the tongue. The staff were friendly and welcoming. My order placed online was prepped when I got there. read more

Plenty of parking. We had a bit of a wait (1 hour) for Saturday lunch but we'll worth it for this amazing BBQ!!! Lamb shoulder and the Mediterranean rice were our undisputed favorites. The cinnamon spice was an unexpected highlight to the dishes. Lamb bacon ribs were fall apart delectable treats, and the brisket bowl is a must order if you are wondering where / how to start. I look forward to taking friends and family here to experience some of the best (our new favorite) Austin BBQ! read more
