I wouldn't say they were the worst Eggs Benedict I've ever eaten, but they're certainly close to the bottom of the list.  The Hollandaise sauce was WAY too thick, and they were so salty they could have have pinch-hit for the Dead Sea... To be fair, the service was AOK and the prices weren't out-of-line - that is, if the food wasn't as poor as it is.  Were it not for the fact that we never had to ask for coffee or water refills, I've have rated this place no higher than two stars. read more

Good food for good prices, but I really want to call out the service. We were driving into KL for a morning snorkel, and called ahead to the restaurant. They asked us not to order ahead (didn't want our food cold) but prepped the kitchen to make our food when we arrived (like boiling water ahead for a Benedict) had us in and out in 19m. I had meant to stop by Mrs Mac's Kitchens for breakfast but to my stunning surprise Mrs Mac's Kitchens doesn't even start serving breakfast until 11:00am, which is the time I start thinking about lunch, not breakfast. I guess my body just isn't on Islamorada or Keys time. But then I'm glad about that as I ended up in the ever so delightful nearby Keys Bite. I really like Key Bite. Its super clean, has great seating both indoors and outdoors even though the outdoor seating is next to the southbound Overseas Highway. For my meal I went for the Eggs Benedict ($8.99) with a side of hash brown, which were some of the best, tastiest Benedict I've ever come across and served by one of the best of servers. I have to add that just reading their menu selection was such a delight I wish I could have ordered and eaten more. The Keysbite Skillet, Breakfast Burrito, Chilaquiles, and Huevos Rancheros all sounded so good. read more

It's all about the fish when you are in the key's right? I was channeling my 1980's fast food commercial, 'Where's the fish?' during my lunch today. I had the blackened Mahi-mahi sandwich and my wife had the 3 blackened mahi-mahi tacos. Both dishes had very thin, small amounts of fish. Flavor was good, just not enough fish. If this is a money thing, raise the menu prices and give your patrons the fish that the keys have a reputation for. Don't be stingy. read more

We came here by accident - the other place we were planning to go was closed for renovation. We went in search of plan B, and came across this place. What a great find! My favorite breakfast is a skillet, and I got a custom one with ham, onions and mushrooms, topped with poached eggs. And because I was in the south, I got a side of grits. The skillets usually come with hash browns but they were out, so they used home fries which is actually my preferred breakfast potatoes. It was excellent! I ate until I was stuffed. I was so enamored of my own food that I'm not even sure what my hubby got, but I know he enjoyed his meal. Visited here for the first time last night for dinner. Very clean establishment, great variety on the menu, and employees were all very nice. Three people in our party including myself ordered the steak tacos on soft corn tortillas. All three of us were majorly disappointed with our tacos. We couldn't even eat them like tacos. They only used one tortilla per taco, and as soon as I picked up the first taco, it completely fell apart. The same thing happened with everyone else. So we ended up eating our "tacos" with a knife and fork. It was a messy disaster. The flavors were great, but it really couldn't make up for the tortillas. Please double ply your soft corn tortillas! Came with 4 people - two got skillets, I got the tuna tacos, and our last friend got the eggs plate with oatmeal and toast. My meal was spectacular at $12.99 and came with a side of rice and beans. The ahi tuna was perfectly cooked and plentiful. Everyone loved every meal especially the sausage and sausage gravy. For $40 for 4 people, you can't beat it. Average food. Unfriendly waitress in a non-enjoyable way, and unhelpful. Almost want to cut her some slack because the clientele down here is wild, but the establishment allows for that issue so she should deal. Basically you arrive and go in to be seated, or, if dining outside, you make a mad dash towards the patio and lay down squatters rights on the best real estate; thrown elbows help ensure victory, apparently .... my fault for bringing toddlers. We ordered two Huevos rancheros, a plain and a blueberry pancake two stack, two sides of meat, coffee, a chocolate milk, oj, coffee, and two beers, and the total was over $90. Hash browns were a hair past raw and unseasoned, rancheros was ok, but the "quesadilla" filled with only beans and barely any meat was disappointing, and the pancakes were over cooked and kind of gross. I did, however, enjoy the shit out of my two ipa. Very confused why this place is rated so well and gets so crowded. I hope this isn't an indicator as to the quality of the rest of key largo's cuisine, though coming back from vacation having lost weight would be a welcome change of pace read more

Our dinner at Keys Bite was very enjoyable. First of all, the outdoor dining area is really pretty. There was a nice breeze and the lighting was good. The real highlight of the experience was the live music, a group called The Castaways. They sang lots of cool 70s songs and some stuff I wasn't familiar with but was very fun and sometimes even funny. They're a talented group and we truly enjoyed their music-making. Service is very friendly. The food is yummy. I had enchiladas with green sauce and I sampled a companion's tacos. I preferred the tacos (crunchy) and will get those next time. The key lime pie was tasty and very creamy. It wasn't the KLP I'm generally accustomed to, but it was very yummy nevertheless. read more

Had a very solid and good breakfast here. We went before taking a boat in Key Largo and found this place on Yelp. They have a cute outside area but keep in mind that it is next to Overseas Highway so you will hear cars. Hubby and I both ordered the breakfast sandwich on a croissant - yummy. Sunday breakfast on under the tiki hut was superb! We were there early enough to be the only ones out there until we were eating. The menu is reasonable and the portions are huge! I ordered 2 pancakes and only needed one! Fresh blueberries in my pancakes too. Mom went with "Mom's Scramble"- naturally- scrambled eggs with ham, homefries & toast. The outdoor seating was along the main road. They did have music playing, but it was still not quiet or the best scenery. The menu had lots of breakfast and lunch variety. I was excited to try the house made hot sauce - which was very good and hot. The server was nice but after taking our order, he disappeared for long time. Our breakfast took longer than we would expect to come out. Then when we tried to pay, our server was nowhere to be found. We went inside to track him down. We handed him a card and he said he would be right out, so we waited outside at our table. He had our card for 15 minutes before we went back in to get it from him. As one of the many restaurants receiving high marks, we decided to drop by KB for lunch. We were greeted and seated pretty promptly. Having a look at the menu ahead of time, we could tell KB seemed to be in a bit of an identity crisis. The menu is vast and includes Mexican, sandwiches, and seafood, all in one. The prices are reasonable but there are some serious issues, in my estimation, that would keep me from coming back. First, the vast menu does bother me a bit. Menus do not have to be huge, just do a limited amount of dishes and do them better than your competition. Next, the décor / ambiance was a bit off putting for our taste but hey, to each their own. However, the worst offender on the list is the cleanliness. The ceiling air vents were in need of a good clean, you could see the caked on dust and nastiness. Some of the drop ceiling tiles needed to be replaced from previous leaks. It just lends itself to wonder how clean the kitchen is if the public-facing areas aren't being cared after. I ordered the pork burrito and my partner ordered the chicken burrito and both were meh at best. The portion size and price were decent but the flavor was kind of bland and unassuming. The staff were okay, nothing to proverbially write home about. I guess, to us, it just felt more like a transaction rather than a nice place to relax and enjoy a well-done dish. Driving home from Key West and I always like to stop around Key Largo for brunch. I've been to this cute diner a couple times, and it's always a solid choice. My most recent visit was no different. So let's get into it shall we? The restaurant offers indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor section is under a tiki hut. The menu is quite extensive with breakfast and lunch selections. They offer everything from omelettes and pancakes to burgers and burritos. On this visit I had the breakfast burrito. I ordered it with scrambled eggs, veggies and cheese. It came with refried beans, sour cream and a pico de Gallo. Absolutely delicious. The flavors were spot on. My daughter had the fruit waffle. She opted for both bananas and strawberries. She liked it and said she'd order it again. Hey that's good enough for me! She's a picky teenager. My husband had the turkey bacon melt with fries. He said it was pretty good. Service is friendly and efficient. The restaurant"s dining area is also quite clean, as is the restroom. For COVID, I observed staff wearing masks and gloves. Social distancing was enforced and sanitizer was available at the entrance. I also saw staff sanitizing tables and menus after each party left. If you're looking for some casual diner food in the Key Largo area, this is a good spot. read more

On the tail end of my birthday vacation we decided to stop here and order takeout for lunch. My coworker recommended this place, so couldn't leave without trying. It was a very small restaurant packed with people. We were able to go to the counter and order food after the hostess finally heard takeout. She was initially not listening and tried to seat all four of us in a tight corner. My husband ordered and then went outside while me and tells kids waited. It was a long wait and very awkward as the waiters kept staring uncomfortably at us at the counter waiting. At first I thought they don't get takeout orders but quickly realized that couldn't be the case since they advertise takeout as well. Finally food came out and I had to go back in for tartar sauce. I initially asked the hostess and she stared at me like a deer caught in headlights before directing me back to the counter. Other than this the food was delicious and I enjoyed it. Our family decided to grab some lunch before hitting the road once again. Macs was closed, so looks like Keys Bite was the our go too spot for the day! Going inside, place was moderately packed, but we were seated quickly. For lunch, lil sis got a cheese quesdilla, pops ordered ham & tomato grilled cheese, and I got the chorizo breakfast burrito! Moving into my review, FOR MOST PART EVERYTHING WAS PRETTY TASTY! I found the quesdilla had a fantastic crispy crust and was indeed cheesy! The grilled cheese also had similar qualities, and nicely packed with sliced ham. The breakfast burrito was MY FAVORITE, packed with real fluffy whipped eggs, great tasting browned chorizo, and the cilantro/lettuce & tomatoes on side really helps contrast the flavors of this dish (also added chahula on mine). Only critique I have was that the fries were kinda pale, and bland; just a another minute to brown, and seasoning, would've made these more appetizing. Overall, really good food here; If I could, I'd give this place a 4.5/5! Love to come back here again and try some other dishes too. read more

It's a small restaurant in the median, so it's easily missed. The staff are all wearing masks and cleaning the tables as customers leave. Friendly and efficient service. The conch fritters were mainly bread, i couldn't even taste anything else. My shrimp tacos had the smallest pieces of shrimp. The tacos consisted mainly of lettuce and pico de gallo. Didn't really have a good experience here for breakfast. Seems like it might be better for lunch or dinner based off reviews, but the place is short staffed with poor customer service. I ordered a waffle with a side of two poached eggs. The picture shows the poached eggs.. My waffle was overcooked and dry. I would probably recommend saving your money to go out to eat for lunch or dinner and just grab breakfast at Publix. Doesn't seem to be many breakfast spots around here. read more

My husband had two eggs with hashbrowns and toast, which is standard. The food was a bit bland but affordable, and definitely fine.
