Absolutely love this place! Scottsdale isn't always culturally friendly, but I was welcomed like everyone else !!! As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by this super friendly guy who asked me what I wanted to drink. I said a mimosa, and he actually brought me a whole glass of champagne! I was laughing so hard because I always joke about not wanting OJ in my champagne, but he just brought it anyway. Then this lovely woman came over and refilled my drink, checked in on me, and just generally made sure I was having an amazing time. I even got a dry pedicure, which I normally hate because it's just so weird, when I tell them no pedicure and people assume it's to save money when I'm just weird about my feet and ticklish . However they were super understanding and got to work no questions asked! The establishment is so beautiful and relaxing with a waterfall and music and champagne I definitely recommend!!! read more

I was being RECORDED! I watched the man with the money tattoo on his left arm pull out his phone, press one button, proceeded to prop up his phone in his cart (facing the outside camera toward me with his screen out of my view) He kept adjusting the angle of the phone as well before starting my pedicure. I initially thought I was trippin but as soon as I asked him "could you put your phone away/face it away from me, I feel uncomfortable because I've had experience with being recorded in the past." He immediately started shaking and stumbling over his words and kept looking up anxiously at my dad who was with me. He got up shortly after to step away and I saw him quickly go on his phone. SUS My dad mentioned it to the lady at the front desk and she told me it didn't happen and that he needed his phone facing him to show the time. Can someone tell me how you can tell the time with the screen facing away from you? And can someone also tell me how she knows he didn't do it if she wasn't in the room with us? It is just something about their service towards me (of course I don't know about the other customers because we don't talk during our service) BUT I have been 3 times and only had 1 good service which was the 1st one. Last 2 times they have an issue with taking my acrylic all the way back on my nails and when I say something they want to argue or tell me I am wrong. I got a manicure and collagen pedicure. My pedi was $5 more than stated in the website. My pedicure did not come with the sugar scrub. My nails are all different shapes. The woman put my black leather sandals on over my wet white pedicure and of course it smeared on my sandals. She tried to tidy up my nail instead of redoing it and only redid it after I asked. I'm ticklish but always grin and bear it when they scrub my feet. She gave up early and my heels are still a mess. read more

I brought my daughter and her friend in for a fun birthday nail appointment. I even had an appointment set. When we arrived, even though we had an appointment, we still waited for another 15-20 minutes to start. Then, it took another 90 minutes each for the girls to get their nails done. It was a basic gel nail with some designs the girls had picked out. So after almost 2 hours we finally finished. The very next day my daughter had 2 nails pop off. We were leaving town so we didn't have time to come in a have it fixed, and the other nails fell off over the next week. We've always used Ken's nails but this experience was awful. Best experience! Hailey gave me the most beautiful manicure yesterday! I stopped by without an appointment and was introduced to Hailey. I showed her a photo of what I wanted (almond shape, French tip with deep curve). What I loved most is that Hailey checked in with me every step, to make sure that I was happy with every detail. Came here for a pedicure with my dad after grabbing brunch nearby. Friendly staff and VERY comfortable massage chairs. They have a nice color selection. I did the basic spa pedicure (trim, scrub, polish, very light massage. I was in and out in about 20 min) and my dad did the paraffin pedicure (trim, scrub polish, wax, bit more more massage) The decorais nice, very bright welcoming decor. Good price for gel manicure and my nails look great. I am rating this experience a 3 because my technician was talking to co-workers the for the majority of my appointment. He was also a bit rough with the manicure...removing stray polish with his fingernail instead of an orange wood stick. *Sigh* I prefer more of a relaxing atmosphere. I prefer more zen with my mani and pedi time. I like to have space in between the pedicure chairs. I like to walk through the nail salon without saying excuse me every few minutes. Get my drift? That was my experience when visiting Ken's Nails and Spa. It was packed and the place is just too small for all that traffic. I wanted new vacation nails. I was Aruba bound. So, I tried a color I've never had. I tried gold chrome nails. I did not know the chrome color was both gel and dipping powder. The process went as such, first a light pink gel polish was applied, dried, then my nails were dipped in a gold color, the access glitter was shaken off then a final coat of clear polish was applied. When the manicurist was doing my nails he said if it comes off in a few days just come back and I'll redo it. I thought oh no! I'll be Aruba and asked does it come off easily and often. He said sometimes. Well, true to form, every single day more and more glitter cane off so it could tell there was gold glitter on top on pink polish. Recommend for a quick walk-in if you're in the area and needing a nail service but would not recommend intentionally making an appointment here. The male techs were careful and kind, the women - not so much. First experience was okay. I have very fine cuticles (barely any) and asked the woman doing my pedicure to try and trim less so I wouldn't bleed. I still ended up getting knicked and bleeding. She didn't really seem to care. Male tech doing my manicure actually listened and was very careful and did a great job. Second experience - woman went over my pinky fingernail and surrounding skin very hard, for a long time, with the most coarse emery board I've ever seen. Felt like sanding paper for a wooden table. It was so coarse, she lifted skin and drew blood from the sides of my finger. Didn't seem to care that I had cuts and skin hanging off. My color was not at all what I thought and I asked for 1 coat of a different color to go over it for a quick fix and she just said "no". Not the best experience for $58. Probably won't go back unless I'm in a hurry. They seem to accommodate walk-ins well and the receptionists are very nice and try to make you comfortable. read more

Went in today for a gel pedicure, they were super nice on the phone and told me to come in no need for appointment. I believe her name was Celine, I can't quite remember but she gave me one of the best pedicures I've ever had. The shape of my toes is perfect, she offered me water and just let me zone out, but the best part was the massage was amazing! I went to Ken's consistently for several years when I lived in Phoenix until I moved away. They always did a great job with my nails, including one time I'd come home from Japan with the most intense manicure ever that literally took them over an hour to soak and take off. As a treat, my wife came here to have a pedicure treatment. Unfortunately her nail technician, an older man, didn't know AT ALL how to do the job. He didn't speak a single word of English, and come to find out he came to the country 3 months ago. So, highly doubt he's licensed or trained at all. Of the three packets of treatment she paid for he only applied one. The gritty one, on dry skin. No lotion, no callous grater, no foot stone, no foot or leg massage, nothing. After scratching her legs he went straight to painting her nails. Couldn't have been more disappointing, as she watched others around her receiving full pedicures. Why didn't another employee help this guy? He was clueless. While paying, my wife shared her experience with the manager who thanked her for the feedback and forced the older man, who doesn't speak English to come forward and bow in front of my wife. Sad and shocking. She didn't want to humiliate the guy. She wanted them to make it right somehow. What's shocking was the manager knowing all this, still charged the full $75 and said come back and try us again. Horrible. Any minor concession would have been a decent sign of understanding for the terrible disappointment. But, nothing. And, it's not about the money. It's about feeling ripped off! I got off of work early and call to see if they had any openings and luckily they did so I just walked right in. They have a huge wall of OPI colors I choose white and red as it was memorial weekend. I choose the spa pedicure $30 and basic manicure$18 (I'm old school so I don't care for gel or SNS) both came out phenomenal. Jill was my tech and love how she did my nails, she paid close attention to every detail on your nails. Salon is clean, massage chair is awesome, staff is super friendly. Not only is he super friendly but he's hilarious, we basically chatted the whole time. His work of course like others have said is amazing. My friend got her gel manicure by Katie who was another great technician. She had a specific request and Katie was able help her find the right color and perfected the designs. Kens facility moved to a new and improved location in the same plaza. The place is pretty, clean, and much larger than the last place. I made an appointment and that helped with the wait time. While I was there I noticed a lot of the technicians had relationships with the clientele and I loved seeing that. Ken offered me a water as soon as I came in and helped me pick a color for my engagement photos. Ken started my nails until Ivy, another technician was available. Ivy did AMAZING. Visiting from the suburbs of Chiraq and didn't have time to get my nails done beforehand. Called Ken's on Sunday for a gel manicure and pedicure. They were able to get me right in. I was greeted as soon as I walked in. Impressed with selection of nail polish and cleanliness of the salon. My nail technician did a nice job on my pedicure and manicure. The only things I would suggest improvement on are when pedicure is finished moving clients to a manicure table. Sitting in those pedicure chairs for a long period of time and twisting your back leads to back pains. Also 1st time client discount or birthday discount would be nice. I have been coming to Ken's Nails and Spa for a few months now. I have a good experience every time I'm in. Huey is my favorite nail tech to work with. I've attached pictures of his work. I originally discovered this place because I had a terrible experience at a different nail spa when getting a new set. The old place charged me $60 for what they told me was dip nails. Turns out it was acrylic and gel. Here at Ken's, they are honest and charge a fair price. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. I have no complaints to report. read more

This was my 4th and last time coming. First time was one of the best pedicures I had, lasted 3 months, no chipping or peeling at all. I wish I had gotten the ladies name because every appt since has gotten worse. This last one the lady was rubbing my legs up and down up and down, no massage, just up and down was not relaxing. Then I got my eyebrows done and the lady complained to me from the time she walked in the room until the time I checked out about how she didn't want to be there and she's sick of ppl there. I was really looking forward to a an hour of relaxation, def didn't get it between these two. And Theeen the VERY next day I look down at my feet and one of my toes is completely bare. I got GEL.
