I got the lion king roll since It's the only sushi I always crave. It was my first time trying this place I found them on Yelp. Ordered on the phone for pick up and I got home and ate it. It tasted so gross worst lion king roll I've ever had. Did not taste fresh. The salmon, crab and rice all tasted so gross. My stomach hurts from trying to eat it. I would not recommend this place at all. Waste of 12$ I threw it away instantly. read more

I was in Tracy looking for something new to try when I stumbled upon this little hidden gem. At first sight from outside it doesn't look like much but when you walk in and that delicious aromas hit you it totally changed my perspective. The theme was very traditional and artistic almost felt like I was at one of those over priced restaurants. I got greeted with a welcoming smile as I walked and seated right away. The food came in less than 10 minutes and in more than generous portions. Especially for the price that was a big shocker only 20$ for a ramen and some fresh brewed iced t. But enough about the restaurant I know you guys are dying to know how that ramen tasted. Well let me tell you it's something straight from Japan. The ingredients all tasted so good and fresh. I'm always big on broth especially when it's miso but this time it was the pork that did it for me. You ever try something and you just don't even wanna swallow it cause it's so good you just wanna savor every bit, we'll that's the pork for you. So crispy yet chewy with a punch full of flavor that had me day dreaming. Almost forgot I was in a restaurant it felt just so warm and welcoming like a home dish. Definitely a place I'd go back to. Only down side is I couldn't get no sake with my meal but other than that it's closest thing I've had to a four star meal. read more

Super cute restaurant and super polite staff. We were surprised at how fresh the sushi is and how fast the service was. Little confused why it wasn't crowded on a Saturday night??? it was better than other places we've tried in town. It is family friendly so we will be going back with our daughter who also sushi also. Only negative was a soda was $2 and I didn't get a refill, I'm assuming it was another $2 per can. my husband who got iced tea had free refills and they kept his glass filled. Ok service tasty sushi! We all use to go to Mikasa but the quality has really gone downhill there these last couple years so everyone recommended this place to me. At over $30 for 2 rolls, my only complaint is it cost almost double what I usually pay in SF, Vancouver. My review is solely on their rolls. So far the best rolls I have had in tracy. We have gotten take out from this place twice, every single time the rolls were great in taste, on time. Husband and I have huge difference in our sushi taste which is always satisfied thanks to their varity of selections. 3.5 Stars! Came in here Tuesday night after work to get some dinner, the place was empty and we were the first customers for them. Immediatey seated and our server quickly brought us the menus, glasses of water and a small bowl of boiled edamame. The edamame were very small and looked a tad old and dry. The Order: Hot Green tea - pretty good, served in a cute teapot and little cups (see pictures) Vegetable tempura (4.95 appetizer size) - crispy vegetables deep fried in batter, ours came with onion,potato,asparagus, sweet potato and broccoli with dipping sauce. The batter was a little too thick but atleast the veggies weren't oily (see pictures) Temaki (Hand roll) - Spicy Hamachi one piece 4.70 (see picture). Dave ordered this and I tried a bite, but didn't like it for me there was way too much mayo and the taste of the hamachi and spice together with the rice and nori was lost. Dave thought it was a good roll but he too prefers his without the mayo. Hawaiian Roll (12.95) - Spicy tuna with avocado with a slice of tuna on top (see picture). The roll didn't taste very Hawaiian inspired but it was good. We asked for it to be extra spicy but it was mild at best for me. This roll too had a tad too much mayo for my liking (see picture) C.C.M Roll (8.95) - Deep fried roll with salmon, cream cheese and a creamy wasabi sauce. This roll was okay the wasabi sauce was really weak and once again the mayo was a bit too much (see picture) The overall presentation of the meal, taste and service = A OK and I would return if I were in the area and in mood for sushi. read more

Well (which is a deep subject in itself), I finally ate here about a month ago. I didn't think it was possible, but some of you were right. This place blows Bluefin away. Their presentation is excellent. Their selection is great and their sushi is fresh, tasty and plentiful. So. I'm sitting at the sushi bar with my family when the owner comes to me and says "is this your first time here?" When I tell him it was, he says "you have to try my spicy seaweed salad." He then drops a huge plate of this reddish seaweed in front of me to eat. I gotta say it was pretty damn good. One bad thing (at the time anyway). They did not have their ABC license for the sales of alcohol. I don't know if that has changed since my visit, but it did suck that I couldn't enjoy a tasty, cold beverage (beer) as I ate my sushi. read more

Considering there aren't many sushi joints to choose from in Tracy, that is the only reason why this place didn't get one star. We ordered 4 rolls. Gail, Philippine, Nemo, and Golden Eye, which I have posted the pictures of. We felt very short changed because the rolls were miniscule. TINY. The pictures in the menu are DECEIVING. Now, I wouldn't care if the taste was worth the price. For my party of four, it wasn't. The Golden Eye was just scallop and I think tuna that is swimming in mayo nigiri style. Barf. If I had to choose, the Gail Roll was pretty good because it had chile oil on it, which enhanced the flavor. Their big a** bowl of udon was unnecessary. I agree, presentation does play a part in the dining experience, but when you have tiny tables, plates of sushi, and a bento box for a table for four, we are eating at the edge of the table. When I say "unnecessary" I really mean you don't need a toilet bowl for udon soup when the soup covers just the bottom of the bowl and makes it look 3/4 empty... toilet bowl. Fill it up more for family style or something! The service felt very rushed. As we were still eating a server made it a point to collect all the empty dishes at once, which took a while. I had to stop eating because I was afraid she was going to spill something on me. Plus, it was rude. In my opinion it is the best in Tracy but we won't be running back to this place any time soon. Take the 30 minute drive to Pleasanton and get some better sushi that's worth the price. read more

I came in here with my honey last week since our usual sushi place was closed for memorial day. I had heard all good things about this place and I was not disappointed! The place is a lot bigger than it seems from the outside and we were immediately greeted with a smile. We got our waters quickly and our rolls came out faster than expected. The presentation was even more beautiful than advertised in the menu! Everything was delicious and the waitresses were so sweet to us. Only complaint is that the rolls are a bit on the small side, so you may need to order two or share an extra roll to fill you up. My favorite Japanese place ever. I'm definitely a regular here, haha. They always try to seat me at the same table whenever I'm there too, which is great. Food always comes out fresh and quick! I always get a bento with Chicken Teriyaki. It's my favorite. If you're into sushi rolls, they have an amazing one called the Philippine Roll and their Red Dragon roll is delicious too! Salmon, tuna, and yellowtail sashimi are consistently awesome quality. Dishes presented beautifully. Service is quick and friendly. Some waitresses have limited English. If you go here and tip the waitresses, just know that the owner of the restaurant takes 30% of all of the tips for himself. Seeing as he is the sushi maker, I could kind of understand, however it is his own business so I don't think that it is fair that he takes the waitresses earned money on top of all of his daily income. They also have a tip jar on the sushi counter that they keep for themselves, however the tip jar at the front for the waitresses also has to be split by 30% and given to him. read more
