Unfortunately I am going to have to leave this place a bad review. Not only did we find 2 hairs in our food. We didn't get no sort of accommodation for that. The bill came up to $68 we were told we get refills, then get charged $1 the waiter was very kind, and prompt. The food was room temperature, I ordered something with Salmon & Avocado, which you would think would come out fresh. My gf got the Beijing roll, which was remade due to a hair on it. This place has been in Tracy for a very long time and I finally got around to trying it out for the first time! We got the Build Your Own Poke Bowls. The ingredients were very fresh. The service was very quick and friendly. The inside of the restaurant was very cute. They had a variety of sushi, boba teas, udon and more. I cannot say enough of how welcoming Satomi is. Is a small establishment that makes you just feel comfy. Both of the owners always speak to me and I love talking with them. We got to talking about their children who serve in our nation's military and I also engaged in a conversation with their younger son who was helping at the register. I've never been disappointed with the food or service. Despite their AC had gone out the previous night, they still purchased and provided a cooling system so their customers wouldn't suffer during our Tracy summers. Came for a business lunch, positive feedback from the 3 of us. It's not fancy, but it is clean, and they have a variety of options on their menu whether you do sushi or prefer cooked items. Our server gave great suggestions based on what we were wanting to try. I had the sashimi Salad and the agedashi tofu. First off, all the employees/waiters and waitresses are incredibly nice, and I have nothing against them. The food itself is unfortunately too bad to warrant the high price and another visit. It's such a nice little place, and it feels super cozy but the food is just awful. Everything besides the fried rice was so bad we couldn't even eat it. First I must say the waiter was very friendly, but several things did not go well. I asked about a certain shrimp dish to find out if it was spicy and he said Yes it was spicy but they could make it not spicy. The menu said that you would get the shrimp and steamed rice and vegetables so I asked can I also get a salad, and he said sure, so they bring me the salad and I'm starting to eat my salad - it's not bad, it's just okay. But then he brings me my dish and instead of vegetables like the menu said it was another salad. Why couldn't he have told me when I ordered a salad that my plate already includes salad? But instead he sells me another salad. So on top of the salad issue, I tasted the shrimp and while it was not super spicy, it was spicy enough that it had a kick to it. More spice than I would like, so I had my sister taste it without telling her anything about the spice level and then she says taste pretty spicy to her, because she heard that I had asked for it to not be spicy. And I said I thought it was spicy too, but I didn't know if it was just me. As for the ambience of the restaurant it's definitely not a white tablecloth kind of place. THE last honest family run business in TRACY... Let alone the Bay Area! I love this place. The food is fantastic but what makes this place one in 1 million is one word... FAMILY. This is a family run business and just by taking a look on the wall you can see how much this family loves each other and supports each other. Several members of the family are proud service members who proudly served our country in our military. This business also supports law-enforcement. Mom and Dad both work in the kitchen making the food.... Sons and daughters and grandchildren work the front counter. The food taste like it was made at home . This place has been in operation and family run since I moved to Tracy about 24 years ago. They are very friendly. Great food. I enjoy all varieties of the fried rice and chow main. Main dishes I enjoyed include tempura shrimp, garlic shrimp and teriyaki chicken. However, I can't go to Satomi without ordering the chicken egg rolls. I know an egg roll isn't considered a key part of a meal but these are so good I can't eat here without having a plate or two of these gems. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

What I like about Satomi is the fresh, consistent food. The service is always friendly, too. Sushi is a treat meal so when it's time to treat myself I find a way here. I'm not super adventurous when it comes to fish and I'm glad there are plenty of options to choose from. The location is in a bit of a busy area. But walk inside and you'll be greeted kindly and seated right away. I don't see more than a small handful of other seated people at a time. Lots of to-go orders though. There's a TV playing on the far end of the restaurant and it's a dark colored theme inside. What I think is the sweetest touch though are the family photos taped to the wall just behind the cashier counter. They are posted there with so much pride. It's very heartwarming. read more

My first visit to Satomi was about month ago and I was back in town, so had to go again. We were greeted warmly when we walked in. Our server was Sasha who is pleasant and efficient. We started with a California Roll which was good. My parents wanted soup and they were not disappointed in their choices- the Seafood Udon and the Chicken Ramen. I went with the Salmon Teriyaki Plate which came with rice and veggies. My meal was perfect and exactly what I wanted. I also had a Thai Milk Tea which was delicious. We met the owner who was very kind. Found out they have been around over 20 years, about the same time my family moved to Tracy. The restaurant is clean and inviting. While we were there, they had a lot of walk in orders to go for poke, so will need to try it. Great food at fair prices, definitely a new favorite restaurant for my family. read more
