I was really hoping to enjoy this spot more than I did. The broth in the tonkatsu was just average at best and the potstickers aren't something I would order again. Overall, depth of flavor was definitely lacking. When comparing to other ramens I've had in the area, this just wouldn't be a spot I'd revisit. So this place is in the food court of the mall in Tracy. There is ample seating based on the number of restaurants there. It was 2pm so not very busy at all. I ordered the Tonkotsu ramen and takoyaki. First of all, the takoyaki were very cold at the center. As if they had been previously frozen and then not fully cooked. Not an enjoyable experience eating them at all. The tonkotsu ramen was just ok. Broth was lacking a depth of flavor. The pork was very tender, but also not very flavorful. Staff was very nice and attentive. There was a bout a 10min wait for the food to be prepared. Would not return to this restaurant again. read more

Gokazoku Ramen is a good friendly place to eat in the Tracy mall food court. The staff were super friendly and happy to take our orders. They were also very helpful and informative when taking our orders. Food was very fast to come out maybe about a 5 min wait on a Saturday afternoon. When the food arrived we ordered the chicken karaage as an appetizer. It was okay the chicken didn't have that much flavor and the texture was a lot like calamari other than that the sauce it came with was very delicious and they give great portions. Now for the Ramen we got the chicken paitan ramen, it was super hot and fresh which is a plus. The noodles were delicious and tasted fresh really nice texture. The broth was okay it wasn't creamy like how most paitan ramen is, and I asked for it spicy well there wasn't really any spice to it. The egg and other little things were delicious and had a great presentation. The atmosphere was nice, the Tracy mall is very dead but I didn't mind to eat my ramen and soak in the liminal feeling of the mall. There was also this cotton candy machine in the food court that played this roblox obby music which was nice to listen to while I slurped up my ramen. I am so freaking happy that Tracy finally has a legit ramen spot! These guys started off as a humble tent at the farmers market and have now upgraded to a location inside the Tracy Mall food court--a huge win for local food lovers. Let's be real: the mall itself might be on life support, but this ramen spot brings it back to life with flavor. Decent bowl of ramen, we had the tonkatsu and the tan tan men ramen. I think if they could ease up on the oil and find a way to make the flavors pop out more in their broth, this could easily be an amazing ramen spot. The broth was pretty bland and very oily at the surface. I'd give the broth 3 star rating. The additional star goes towards other aspects of the ramen and service! You can tell they put love into making their homemade noodles, great texture. I also loved the chashu as well. What a gem! Found this amazing ramen spot at the Tracy farmers market (they are also at Mountain house Farmers markets on Sundays!) and was not disappointed... so good I had to go back and get ramen on a hot day!! There's something for everyone with three delicious broth flavors: Tonkatsu TanTanMen (spicy) Miso They also serve rice bowls such as chicken teriyaki, chicken karaage, and Gyudon beef! Everything I've tried from them has been super delicious with fresh ingredients and amazing authentic flavors. The owners are so friendly, courteous and have wonderful customer service! As they just opened, food was amazing. Give them time to become excellent. If you want a little bit of a Japanese experience, order your food for here but at the bar you get a real bowl. I'll be going back. It's an awesome experience before I hit Costco. They're in the Tracy mall so there's a lot of atmosphere around you but if you could ignore that, enjoy the Ramen you're doing something special read more

Excellent food and supreme service! We decided to eat at the counter and so glad we did. We were able to experience the care that was taken to prepare our meal. The owner, Mark is very personable. He and Ms. Lucille take pride in the preparation and presentation of the food they serve; which we truly appreciated. Homemade noodles and broths.. No MSG. Run, don't walk. You couldn't ask for better service, I believe it is owned and ran by the most sweetest and genuine couple who truly put their love into their craft. Food was absolutely delicious and even though it's located in the mall food court, the presentation and taste did not disappoint. You can either choose to eat at their bar top or tables but I did notice how clean their booth was. Definitely going back and would highly recommend. read more

My husband and I traveled this far from Los Angeles to Tracy. We finally found this Ramen place and were extremely impressed with the chef and the staff during our recent visits. The food quality was fantastic. We've been searching for high-quality noodles, and your team exceeded our expectations. Additionally, the side dishes were superb, especially the Chicken Karaage, Takoyaki & Gyoza with their in-house sauces. Overall, the Gokazoku Ramen is excellent place to dine and to cater. Here is the reason why I give this review only 1 star. I've tried a lot of ramen places all over the bay area and when I'm in Japan, this place have got to be one of the worst. I have no idea how this place have high review and got good service in the first place. 1. The broth was so bland and lack luster, for a tonkutsu with a description of black garlic oil, you don't see or smell any black garlic oil at all. You cannot taste the umami flavor from the pork bone broth, that is the most important thing in a tonkutsu ramen. The noodle itself was soggy too. If you buy the instant Tonkutsu at costco it would taste more umami than this one. 2. The place is big enough for the staff, but one of the staff keep walking behind the other staff and brushing the behind or her other sides, I was standing and waiting for my food and he did it like 3 times within the time frame of less than 10 minutes. I don't want extra bacteria in my food. 3. The service- The guy that ring me up feel like he is being force to go to work. He remember to ask me to answer the tipping question though, even though my order was togo. They charged you extra for using credit card but did not inform you or have any signs that say they will charge a fee ($1.28). Most places will have sign that says if you spend less than a certain amount they will charge, this place did not inform the customers or put up any signs, my whole bill was over $31 and yet I still get charge, when I asked the cashier he said he doesn't know and that he cannot undo it for me if I want to void the transaction and pay cash. Don't waste your money and try a different place. read more

Great customer service. I took my 12 year old son to the mall and came across this place. We were immediately greeted with great customer service and very friendly staff. My son and I had the Tonkatsu and the Chicken Gyoza. The gentleman making the Ramen and Gyoza explained how everything was made and was very knowledgeable. Everything is made in house and you can tell by how fresh the food was. I highly recommend this establishment. read more

This is quite possibly my new favorite ramen place in Tracy. My husband and I love Japanese food, and the broth and noodles are legit. So satisfying and filling. We enjoyed a chat with the owners at the bar in the mall as we ate. They're incredibly friendly and even gave us some karaage on the house. Eat the ramen there in the mall where it's made fresh!! First visit, saw them open when I stopped in for a cheese stake to celebrate after the super bowl. Had the tonkatsu and it was very good, tipped it up at the end to get every drop. Thank you very much! These guys have just started and they are very local family guys and this start is very good. I look forward to even better in the future and I'm going to support them by stopping by regularly for another bowl. I haven't tried all of their dishes. This is just for their ramen. I was very looking forward for a good local ramen spot, so I was waiting for months for this place to open, but the wait was for naught. The soup of the Tonkatsu ramen I had was extremely lackluster, and it is the most important part of the dish. I wouldn't try their ramen again. I have had good ramen elsewhere in CA and in Japan, and this does not compare at all, not even half-way. I'm not sure what other reviewers are tasting (maybe they have not tried good ramen). The bamboo shoots included are tough but tasty, and their char siu slice is decent. read more

Absolutely incredible -- the best gyudon I've ever had! I don't usually feel compelled to write a review after my first visit somewhere, but this meal absolutely deserved one. This was our first time here, and what an amazing experience! From the moment we walked in, we were greeted so warmly by Lucia, who took our order and told us about some of their award-winning dishes. She definitely wasn't exaggerating! We ordered the Gyudon Beef Ricebowl, and I can honestly say it was the absolute BEST gyudon I've ever had. The beef was unbelievably tender -- it practically melted in my mouth. It was seasoned perfectly, incredibly flavorful, and that vinegar for dipping was chef's kiss. Every single bite was delicious. I literally could not stop eating it, and yes... I was making those little "mmm!" food-enjoyment noises because it was THAT good. We also had the pleasure of meeting Chef Mark, Lucia's nephew. Both of them were so warm, friendly, and welcoming that the whole experience felt special. You can tell there is genuine pride and care behind the food they serve. If their gyudon is this incredible, I can only imagine how amazing their award-winning ramen must be -- and I already know what I'm trying on our next visit!
