Then my daughter gets upset and shows her the call and says oh yeah it's here .. we wait over 30 misns after reservation and so we finally sat down then me and my boyfriend ordered a sushi roll, which ended up having a hair on there ... my veggies were so hard .. I asked to get them extra grilled they just warmed them up !! I've been here before never had this experience. I'm not understanding if is new management or what's going on. Maybe not enough for employees but the bad service was everywhere while I was waiting. I sat at the bar and the bar wasn't nowhere near the bar. Waiting over 15 mins to order a drink I will not be coming back I rather make the drive to Benihana or Stockton somewhere where ppl actually appreciate their job.. We ordered the tempura sampler and one of the seafood items were overcooked. I also ordered the beef teriyaki and it did not taste like teriyaki at all. Wow! So glad we came here! I live in Mountain House and I was craving hibachi and I almost went to Livermore because I didn't know they had one right in Tracy. Thank God I looked on yelp again. My fiancé and I came in on a Sunday right when they opened, so it was just him and I in the restaurant for a while. The food was sooooo yummy, the garlic butter sauce is to die for!! Been coming here for years! Been going since its early years back when it was Benihana and then the switch to Musashi in its earlier years. These years were good! There was a slump in the business and for a second it seemed the business was going down. We had stopped coming for a bit due to the cleanliness, but Gave it another try again and the place seems more lively and cleaner than before! Glad there was a change in ownership because the service has definitely improved! Noah the cook is one of the OG cooks and never disappoints. He gets the orders right on point and the fried rice made by him is to die for (not too salty or dry or peppery). He also has good memory and will remember you if you are a regular. Glad he has stuck around. Came here 6 months back right before the owner had sold to the new owner, the food was good since we got Noah that time. We then came back recently on Father's Day under the new ownership and it was busy but the seating, waiters, and cooks were all prompt with all tables and there was not a long wait at all. All drinks were also made correctly. Waiters were friendly and energetic. If you had given up on this place I would say give them a try with the new ownership. I know why there isn't many people in there and I saw no orders going out even to go. For the price this was absolutely not worth the money. Even the cook did the same moves over and over missed every single trick and could only say o well (with a smile of course) but it wasn't o well. I told them there was a birthday and he kept tellin me happy birthday even after corrected not a big deal but really. The ordered a michelada with a corona and was brought a Pacifico instead (to the birthday girl). My steak was very small portion and about a 3rd was fat. See the pic. My shrimp was over cooked. Okay- this is a conflicted review- let's start with the good: ( 5 ) We went there about 730-745 on a Saturday, just missed the rush so we were seated immediately. Server was sweet and on top of things. Once the food was serviced, our cook Manuel was amazing. Funny, personable and the food was literally PERFECT!! Will definitely be back again.. The bad: (-1) When you walk in the main door there is a smell. From working in bar service- I'm thinking the bar drain is funky or there is an old mop somewhere- it's just a funky stagnated smell. Although it does not smell like that in the food area. Bathroom- so gross. It is even reflecting on their health score. It's gross. It's pretty dusty looking, definitely needs a really good cleaning/degreasing It's also pretty dark inside The ugly: (-1star) The owner clearly micromanages the sh*t out of her staff - the waitress is clearly capable of doing her job and the woman was literally standing over her shoulder telling her what to do. I'm all for cultural and whatever- but having female staff wear an Amazon "kimono " aka a robe, it's a little much. IMPORTANT: If you want the tip - or a portion of the TIP to go to the cook, you must tell the waitress "x amount goes to the chef" or give it to him directly- or else the server gets it all Currently: no sushi only dine in service The place is in transition of new ownership, so they are not restocking some items until the handoff is done. - alcohol and food supplies may vary. The change should be completed in about 2 months. We absolutely plan on coming back- especially under new ownership- have really high hopes for good come back ! read more
