It's embarrassing that she believes this is an appropriate way to train someone, especially a new employee. Renovations are nice (copycat Nudy's style), business is good, food decent but not special. Not a fan of yoga pants/gray t-shirt uniforms, looks sloppy. Owner in cut offs, sneakers and tank top and severe RBF which isn't welcoming in the least. Ware to start . First off they packed way to many tables no room to move . Went to sit down and the guy at the other table wouldn't move in and caused my mom to have to sit on the same side as me left us no room . When people walked by they would bump her as there is no room between tables . The food can't speak for it all but I had the sos and home fries and one hot cake . I ate cake 1st it was Luke warm and rubber. The Garvey had a flower taste that wasn't cooked out the home fries tasted like they boiled potatoes then sliced them and put a season salt on them . My mom had eggs bacon and home fries and toast . She said the same thing about potatoes and she said toast was like it was made early and sat out making it stale. Stopped in for breakfast with my husband since he was home from military duty and was disappointed I did. We got seated right away but took an hour to get our food. When questioned why we haven't got our food but others that were seated 10 to 20 minutes after us had got there meal, it was there food may have been different and quicker to make and they were backed up with TO GO Orders. Well needless to say they had close to the same order we had (Kelly's Signature French Toast & a few other items as our meal) and we still continued to wait. Finally got the meal in PARTS, once we got everything a minute or 2 later our server runs to our table with the check and states "here's this so you won't have to wait any longer" seem like a smart ass remark to me for us being impatient. So I come all the from AC, NJ and stop by kellys which I heard so many good things about, but....my servers name was Shelby from the time my wife and I sat down she did tip collecting on ea table walked by not a hello Nada it was like we were invisible. She finally comes over and while my wife was ordering she corrects her grammar yep you read it right a girl in service industry told a customer they were wrong. Now until my food comes not once did she check in. She had a horrible attitude, slammed silverware etc to the point I wanted to ask for another server but had true fear she would spit in my food that's how bad she was. While were eating no lie she brings a to go box and a check WO us asking and says not to rush you but in case you want to take rest home here you go. I never met this girl, never been to this town before but got judged from the door on my looks w tattoos etc and was given bad service by how I presented myself. In 37 years this was worst ever, the only time I never left a tip BC even 10% would have hurt my soul with Shelby I can not stress enough to avoid this diner like it's cancer bc at the end of meal we tell the owner and she goes I'll talk to her lol which is code for oh well I've never used yelp in my life and DL the app just bc of how horrible this was and honestly the food was alright for the price point but I was so upset from the door I couldn't eat it properly so there's a good chance it tasted better than alright, but Shelby actually put a bad taste in our mouth and I just lost $22 and 1 hour I'll never get back FYI today is my bday too so happy bday from Kelly's to me read more

Went there with my family on Sunday morning. There were 9 of us in the group including 4 kids under the age of 9. The atmosphere was very lively. I ordered the eggs benedict and it was very good. My wife had a breakfast sandwich on a hoagie roll. It looked great and she said it was delicious. My kids loved their grilled cheese and ham sandwiches and my niece enjoyed her scrambled eggs. They cleared their plates which doesn't happen very often! I highly recommend Kelly's for good food at very reasonable prices. I grew up in Thorndale and when I'm home visiting my parents, I'm going to make every effort to stop by Kelly's. read more

We found this diner on Yelp and really enjoyed our breakfast. The service was great and prices were reasonable.

Being big breakfast fans, we were excited when we discovered this place. Our first visit, the service was awesome and the food was good and hot!! We decided a couple of weeks later to get breakfast to go. We picked it up and discovered no silverware, napkins, condiments, etc in the bag, but we managed. (The food was good, but pancakes are always better with a fork and syrup!) We decided to do take out again, and while this time we had all the condiments, the portion sizes were well over 1/2 the size smaller than what we'd gotten before. Not enough sausage gravy to cover the biscuits, the bacon was folded over in and wrapped in aluminum foil and was one big clump, maybe 5 pieces of potato for home fries, etc. This morning we woke up early and decided to go in again to see if maybe that'd be better... Sadly, we don't know because we never got our food!! After our order was taken, we sat and chatted and we began realizing everyone had food but us. After waiting 20 mins., our waitress came over and said "your food will be a few more minutes" and before we could say anything she went back in the kitchen. After another 10 minutes, and watching food delivered to tables who came in AFTER we ordered, we decided to leave. We would've let our waitress know, but she never came out of the kitchen after telling us our food would be just a few minutes. So we left a few dollars on the table to cover our drinks, let another waitress on the floor know we were leaving and why, and got out of there. We wanted it to be good, but it's just not. I get the sense though that they have a regular clientele that they cater to so there's probably no chance of them improving or us going back. read more

Place sucked the first time I ordered to go. Gave them benefit of the doubt, since there is no where else to really get a great breakfast except the local diner. This place lacks customer service!! I get better good mornings and good afternoons at the local banks and diners. For a waitress to take my order and not greet us, followed by a, "what do you need?" speaks volumes of your business. Then when I asked for salt and pepper on my eggs, they look at you as if we're asking for a complicated order? I ordered a breakfast hoagie and no where on the menu does it say they flood it with home fries. I couldn't see the bread to my sandwhich. My wife ordered the breakfast wrap which comes with salsa and sour cream. We had to drive back to pick it up because it was never placed in the bag. Only to then eat the food and the taste is mediocre at best. Kelly you need to step it up. I will gladly share my experience with all my friends. We stopped in here because Thorndale is sorely lacking in good breakfast spots, and the Yelp reviews looked promising. Sadly, we were not impressed. The menu does not seem to be online, so I don't remember exactly what I ate, but it was definitely mediocre at best. Coffee was good, but the cream was in those little containers but better than a powder, OJ was nothing special. Great little spot for breakfast/lunch. Stopped in between soccer games. It's a small local diner with great breakfast food. Omelettes were great with three add ins. I had a fruit cup that was overflowing with fresh cut fruit. We also ordered the waffle and the breakfast burrito. Love the fact that you could customize the burrito. Great diner but was very annoyed because it took close to 30 minutes to get our food. The waitress was very attentive and filled up our coffee and water when necessary but other tables received their food sooner then us (3) even though they were seated well after we had been. When i first saw kelly's i had walked by because i am a local but i work late so i hadn't had the chance to go. I finally had a chance to go to kellys i walked in was greeted told to seat ourselves (me, my fiancee and her grandmother). First thing i noticed was that the seating is very tight together there isn't much room at all or privacy if you wish to sit in a booth. When are waitress came over she greeted us and asked what we wanted to drink i asked for orange juice. The drinks got to us not long after and we we're asked if we we're ready and obviously since it was our first time we had to look so we asked for a few minutes. I didn't know that this would turn into a 15-20 minute wait instantly for her to come back to us. When i drank outta my cup of orange juice (forgot to use my straw) instantly i tasted a disguisting dirty dish water taste i couldn't believe it clearly someone isn't wiping their glasses or even washing them properly. I ordered the breakfast combo that came with french toast, 2 eggs any style, homefries and a meat of your choice for 7.95 (i asked for cheddar cheese on my eggs) so it was 8.95 instead i asked for the home fries EXTRA crispy. a good 15-20 minute wait later are food came both of our servings of homefries were soggy and undercooked i kindly asked the waitress to return both and get us a fresh batch of actual extra crispy homefries. She comes back in under a minute literally! both plates with over oiled fries that were just far from crispy they were disguisting. I saw my waitress a few tables over and i called her over again i kindly told her that the fries were not done right and that i didn't understand what the problem was why i as a customer was not able to have my food the way i wanted it. She told me that she didn't know and that they just "always are this way" giving me a shrug and a weird head turn saying that the cook said if we wanted them that way we would have to wait a 30 minute wait and they would be soaked in oil!?. I told her nevermind on them trying to make the homefries! i would just eat what i had gotten and leave! she said nothing walked away and continued her job ignoring my dissatisfaction as if i was just invisible. I was starving at that point so i dug into what i could of the food and believe me that was hard after this whole ordeal i went through just over fries it made me sick. French toast was underportioned and overdone i had to tear at it to eat it basically which was a shame considering there wasn't much of it at all plus it was cold since my waitress and cook had me waiting so long to get my homefries. The eggs were subpar and same with the pork roll which seemed handled with filthy hands considering later after that meal i was far from feeling well. In the end i was just happy to be done speaking to my waitress about the whole thing after being treated the way i was but it wasn't over not yet the owner herself kelly comes stomping out with a big egotistical attitude. She comes straight to the table and says to us "hi im kellys of kellys we're you the ones that were having the issues with the homefries" We told her yes then she says "If you want them cooked that way it would take a whole half hour and they'd be super oily" my fiancee responded questioning why it would take that long regardless and why they would be so oily? You're supposed to drain the oil off of them not serve them with it she kindly told kelly. Then kelly says "well everyone has their preference" walks away with our dishes of full homefries considering we couldn't eat them and didn't say sorry once. When are bill came it was full at large everything was there nothing taken off and a really bad taste left in our mouthes (literally! the cup of oj was so filthy tasting) we still tipped our waitress because we're human. As well as the staff is very rude from the back as my fiancee was going to the bathroom one of them almost knocked into her with a cart that had a deli slicer on it lucky she didn't though. I run my own business and i have had repeat customers for over thousands of times personally never had an issue with my own customer service and i love seeing people happy, the customer is always right kelly next time rethink how you treat your customers.
