We are new to area looking on yelp for breakfast spots. Glade we decided to go to the little chef!!My girlfriend ordered the big breakfast eggs, home fry's, sausage and bacon and a side of pancakes with rye toast. Myself ordered the two eggs scrambled well done home fries a side of scrapple and rye toast. The whole meal was awesome. The pancakes that I tasted were flat nice and fluffy. places of family on restaurant very clean A+. The owner even took us back in the kitchen to meet the family. I am so disappointed, family and I used to come here all the time the food USED to be incredible and cheap. To start the grill the home fries are cooked on wasn't clean they tasted like everything else that was cooked on it. I got the cheese steak and egg hoagie which used be one of my favorites no flavor to it at all. Our service was nice but it is a shame we only saw her twice. We sat at a booth first but it was freezing cold so we had to move to a table. Had to wait about 15 minutes for our check. in so upset this was my family's restaurant for decades. I got a BBQ chicken finger wrap with Bleu cheese. It was perfectly fine. Chicken was crispy and the flavors balanced well. The fryer oil probably should be changed as the fries I got tasted a lot like an amalgam of chicken and fish. Which isn't necessarily bad, but just sort of is weird. We got a cheesesteak with fried onions and mushrooms. We went with the curly fries. This was a big Cheesesteak and between it and the french fries they really filled out the plate. The roll was very good. It was more bakery/dinner roll than a traditional cheesesteak roll. I really liked that the mushrooms spent a lot of time on the grill. You can see a char on them. There was a very good amount of cheese and it was melted very nicely throughout the whole cheesesteak. read more

My wife and I have been ordering from Little Chefs since we moved nearby almost 2 years ago. They have great food, a cozy family diner atmosphere, a great staff, and have always been very accommodating. During busy hours there may be a longer wait than expected, but it's always been worth it to me. I especially felt compelled to post this due to a previous reviewer who skewed a few facts. I was there at the time. The staff was NOT rude as the reviewer stated...in fact it was the reviewer being beligerent while dropping F bombs. They even left and went so far as to come back in and argue more. read more

Was out near Kennet Square and headed north on Route 82 for lunch. Looked for a few places and they were closed on a Saturday, one for remodeling, but we stayed north. At one point we looked at the Google map and saw Little Chef with great reviews so we were close and tried it out. This seemed like a good mom and pop place as we walked inside, was pleasantly seated. Ordered our meals, cheeseburger and chipped beef gravy over toast and potatoes, both enjoyable, but what we liked most about Little Chef were the regulars coming in for take outs. Everyone seemed to know each other, then when paying I realized two reasons why customers like Little Chef; it has to be from both the servers and then the Greek owner of the restaurant. Took my folks here after a VA appointment. The staff was welcoming from the moment we walked in. This is a family business. We had the chicken pot pie and the hot beef sandwich. The salads were fresh, the pot pie (crustless) was delicious, as was the hot roast beef sandwich. Homemade rice pudding is the best! read more

Started Mother's Day 2023 great until walking into this establishment. Now I understand 100%, it's Mother's Day. Every place is busy and has a wait time. That's not the issue at hand. Party of 6. 3 out of 6 people get their food. 45 mins goes by.. still no food. At this point I'm now asking the waitress, she's running back to the kitchen to ask them. Just all over the place, zero communication. "5 minutes, 5 minutes, 5 minutes." That's all they keep saying. After waiting another 15 mins. Our entire party decides we're just going to leave. We receive the check from our rude waitress. Go to the front & I ask to speak with the manager. The young lady (daughter of the owner) tells me that's they are too busy and he has no time to come out here and talk to me. Um okay. I found that to be very rude and I told her I'd wait because I had an issue that needed to be resolved. 2 mins goes by. The owner (the young ladies dad) comes out yelling with a spatula in his hand. Asking "what the problem is, everyones waiting for food." Yes! Everyone is waiting. But not AN HOUR.. and let's not forget you serve HALF OUR PARTY ALREADY. Long story short- says he's going to give me a $50 gift card and goes back in the kitchen. Starts yelling, everyone's flustered, young lady is crying. I'm now just waiting for my "gift card" and being looking at as if I'm crazy. Someone comes up to me with a pen and paper and says "what's your address? I'll have someone drop it to your house." Absolutely not. I'll be damned if you think you're "pulling up" to my house. I'm here right now. Just give it to me now. As owner/ manger I'm very disappointed at the way things were handled. Again, I understand it's a holiday. I understand you're a little bit busier than normal but that's not an excuse to treat your customers the way you did. We LOVE Little Chef! Their omelets and breakfasts are so filling and delicious, and the staff is so friendly! My family comes for breakfast about 2 times a month and we always get our favorite table near the kitchen so my daughter can wave to everyone coming in and out of the doors! The Little Chef is an adorable diner with a family-feel off of Lincoln Highway in Coatesville. The inside was adorned with cute decor which was surprising to me given the demographic of the area. Customer service was wonderful and the staff was cheerful. You could tell they were really into the holiday spirit and we were greeted warmly upon entering. As nice as the service was (it was wonderful, truly) the food is extremely sub par. My husband and I love traveling to small business in search of "hidden gems" and unfortunately this was not it. My breakfast was bland and did not blow me away at all. My husband's burger was just okay. It was fun to stop in but the food is honestly mediocre at best - there are far better spots not too far down the road. Happy Days Diner is far superior, along with Double D. Not knowing what to expect. Taking my cues from everyone else on what to order. Everyone got something different, 2 of my coworkers got a Hoagie 1 a French dip and the other a chicken cheese steak. The owners and their staff are very friendly, and they have the best prepared food in the area. The servings are large portions. It is impossible for me to complete an order there. Leftovers always accompany when going home. Little Chef Diner also has moderate prices for all of their offerings. The ambiance at the Little Chef Diner is also very nicely done. Cheesesteak Roll, Chicken Wings, and their Reuben sandwiches are the best. Mrs. Libby Lymberis and her sons (John, Nick, and Pete) are the best.
