Everything here is pretty spot on. The menu has a lot to choose from and all of it. They pretty much knock it out the part the hotdogs are exceptional. I really love their fish and chips. The ambience is like welcome home. Not really a huge place so it doesn't get overcrowded. The fried chicken wings or wings. I stopped in tonight to grab some take out and was pleasantly surprised! This establishment sits within a Thorndale shopping center and really doesn't look like much from the outside. I wasn't expecting much as this looks like a dive (I totally judged a book by its cover) but was overall satisfied with my meal. I did look at Yelp before heading over but didn't see any stellar reviews - think Midway Grill should get the credit it deserves. My burger was juicy and very flavorful - I got "The Glorious Burger" which has American cheese, bacon, blue cheese dressing, BBQ sauce and an onion ring. Job well done on that. I also ordered the Reuben dog which was topped with sauerkraut and thousand island - very good bread to bun radio and the bun was very soft. My husband ordered the Chilli cheese burger which I stole a bite of - solid burger and the Chilli was very hearty. I can imagine this burger being really filling as they were generous with the amount of Chilli. Normally for a casual burger I head over to Happy Days diner, but I'll definitely be making more regular stops here too. They deliver which is a plus! read more

I grew up on the famous "Midway" grill hotdogs, so everytime I'm in town I come to this location and get a hotdog. I brought my son with me because I wanted him to experience what I've always loved! I guess in my childhood nostalgia I didn't catch any rudeness in our first cashier but he certainly mentioned it in the car. I will say, there was definitely a difference in the attitude between the two women helping us at the register. After hours of anticipation and talking up these hotdogs, when we got home and upwrapped them, I was so disappointed!!! There wasn't even enough "meat sauce" to line the bread or dog. The "meat sauce" on the hotdog is what Midway was famous for!!! The ONION is now the new meat sauce!!!! They piled the onions on as if I asked for extra onions on both hotdogs and they aren't cheap, however what I received was! I received a regular hotdog with onions that ANYONE could have made! With Downingtown opening their new gourmet hotdog shop, Midway should never be putting out a product like this (not like this should be acceptable anyway).They better step up or they will be the once famous Midway. I'm looking forward to the new shop in D-town. This wasn't worth it one bit! read more

My only complaints are that the store itself is very small, and tables are packed in for the dining area. Also, it is not in the most obvious location in the shopping center it is a part of. In its simplest form, the "Heater" burger was the best burger I have had to date. I think about food (ingredients, source, calories, etc.) about a thousand times more than the average person, roughly. As I was enjoying this burger, none of those came to mind. I didn't realize I was downing a ton of calories in one sitting. Or the sodium content. Or the saturated fat. It's just that good. Idk why though, nothing specific about the burger really stood out. The Heater has pepper jack, hot cherry peppers and mushrooms on top of a 6 oz beef patty. Also, it comes on a kaiser roll. It works. The order of cheese fries can probably feed three people. Midway Grill is so much better than you would think at first glances - it's located in a strip mall, has a small dining area, and offers a sandwich shop-casual atmosphere BUT it's clean, staff are super friendly and the food is very good. I believe everyone has a different palate - there are so many kinds of hot dogs out there but these aren't too salty, have a good clean meaty taste and do not use the snappy casings as in others types (which I personally don't miss). I've sampled several hot dogs but I keep going back to "Greg's Favorite" - all the ingredients just work. There is nothing better than a grilled dog on a fresh steamed bun with the option of any type of fixins you like. I had the pleasure to try the Cape Cod sandwich - delish! Two big fried pieces of fish on a soft round roll, crisp Romaine, onions, tomatoes and their own tartar sauce. I can't wait to keep trying new things on their menu. I see a lot of seniors in there enjoying sandwich platter and salads. They have a lot more than hot dogs on the menu. Ordered my usual 2 hot dogs with ketchup , mustard , and sauce. It was probably the best meal I've had in a long time (well since the last time I had midway). The dogs were cooked perfectly and has the perfect amount of ketchup and mustard. The meat sauce was loaded up. The restaurant was very clean. All the tables were nicely wiped down without streaks, and the large mirror on the wall was perfectly clear. The waitress was very nice and attentive. I'm not sure what the other reviewer's are raving about. I had a Greg's favorite hot dog, Onion rings, and midway chicken wings. The hotdog didn't have that "bite" that a quality hotdog should have, the bun was a cheap white bread bun, like a storebrand bun would be. Not sure what their "famous" coleslaw is famous for but I've had better from a store. The "Steak cut" onion rings were cheap previously frozen onion rings. The broasted midway wings were almost flavorless even though they're supposed to be marinated. They were juicy, just lacking flavor. Their profit margin must be pretty high since their lack of quality ingredients can't cost much. There are plenty of other average food options in the area. Was expecting a hot dog better than we can make at home... The hot dog seemed boiled, not grilled. The meat sauce was dried up, the roll was not toasted and it crumbled like it was stale. The cole slaw was not bad, the cheese fries were like any pizza shop. Prices weren't "fantastic", but I thought they were pretty much in line with what one would expect. Somebody said the onion rings were from a frozen bag-maybe I'm gullible, but I highly doubt that. I went here on Tuesday with my child and we kept it simple 2 hotdog platters plain dogs with mustard...cheese on the fries. It was standard you really can't mess up a hot dog. But today I stopped in this being my second visit and I ordered the same cheese fries is the other day but I felt like having one of the gyros that I read the reviews were good on. I asked if they made their tzatziki sauce and they said no so I tried it and immediately the first thing I taste it with garlic powder. Aside from that the consistency looked gooey, now mind you all that tzatziki sauce consist of is Greek yogurt, lemon juice, fresh minced garlic, salt, olive oil, and fresh dill. Anyway what I received was a pita with hot tomatoes old onions and salty meat. With my cheese fries. I came home and was disgusted that I just paid over $11 when I had to use my own feta cheese and lettuce to make an actual gyro. Tzatziki's sauces consistency was so disgusting that the look of it alone turns my stomach. It saddens me that this place has received positive reviews when they do the simplest of things. I know their red velvet cake is not made on premises, along with other things. This is a shame. I hope management takes note and fixes the issues. The amount they spend to make their soups you would think they would use it to make a cake and tzatziki that being the cheapest thing to make. read more

We have always had good eats here. This is the original Midway not to be confused with what they call the Midway in downtown Coatesville which is an entirely separate establishment. Chili dogs are off the hook. They split Grill their hotdogs and don't boil them they are the best hot dogs around. Searched on Google for top picks of hot dog places and this place came up, albeit with the wrong address. It told me 704 E. Lincoln Hwy in Coatsville. (Actually here on Yelp!) Turns out when I pulled in there, I wasn't paying much attention to the sign... I THOUGHT it said Midway. Anyway, I told the lady there that I heard they make good Chili Dogs. She said I have the wrong place and guided me farther down the road to Midway where they have the best dogs. (Which was good to hear!) Anyway, farther down the road... (long story a bit less long....) I found the place (with help). This place sits in a shopping center plaza with plenty of parking in the lot. The place is a bit smallish, and the seating is strange. I hesitated to sit at a table because it looked like it was meant for 1/2 a dozen people and already had someone at it. I pulled up a chair on the opposite end anyway without any grief from anyone. Apparently, they USED to own the other location, but moved to this one at 3235 Lincoln Hwy in Thorndale, just a bit down the road. ANYWAY... I had 2 "Original"s, an order of Cajun Fries, & a lemonade. Everything was VERY good. I enjoyed the dogs... maybe more cumin, but still... yummy. The fries were different and appreciated. Maybe a touch more cajun. The lemonade was good to wash things down. Having said all that, it may seem I'm being a bit critical. That's just because I REALLY enjoyed it.
