Went to breakfast here and the food was delicious! However, the hostess (not the server) was incredibly rude and this skewed my experience. I couldn't believe how rude she was to customers--astounding. Her tone was abrupt and annoyed. We were seated next to a table of three black men and I watched her yell at them about a gift card. She actually yelled at these men as she handed it back to them saying something about how it needed to be refilled. It seemed like they might have had a question, but she stomped away. I couldn't believe it. They did not say anything, but I felt that it was discriminatory not to mention unprofessional and rude. Had a late lunch here with a friend. I ordered a simple Pretzel breakfast sandwich (which didn't come with anything) and a side of home fries. The flavors of everything? Dull. The pretzel was the only thing that truly had flavor in my sandwich. It was luke warm and kinda on the dry side. The home fries were absolutely pitiful. They were soggy, lacked flavor, and looked like they were leftover from the previous day. The restaurant was clean and bright, but seem cramped with space. I attempted to use the restroom that was right next to an entrance to the kitchen and twice I was almost ran over by staff and once staff ignored me as I tried to pass by. Service was about average. I had a corporate event that I needed breakfast for. I am from Chicago and did not know the area. I arrived on a Monday and needed catering for the following three days. I was recommended this restaurant's catering service by a neighboring restaurant. I called Kelly's at around 1:55pm that Monday, 5 minutes before they closed. I spoke to Kelly and explained my dilemma. Within the next 10 minutes I met her at the restaurant and she worked with me to build a menu for the following three days. She was wonderful to work with. Given the time constraint she didn't skip a beat and was willing to help me out. I did have to pick up the breakfast each morning but that was not a big deal. I was very appreciative of the service she provided. When I arrived at 7:15am each morning, her staff was ready with my order and placed it in my vehicle. I could not have asked for better service and I highly recommend for any catering event. We received a variety of breakfast items including french toast, eggs and bacon one day and breakfast sandwiches and fruit the next. read more

Went sunday morning for the first time with my hubby, it was very good! I got strawberry topped Belgian waffles and eggs and he got the challenge breakfast. Not sure what its called but its this massive breakfast meal and if you down it you get a T-shirt and your picture on the wall. He didnt make it... Great food, great service and fast!!! I was in the area so decided to check this place Out on yelp. It had good reviews on yelp so we checked it out. What a great spot this is. It was pretty crowded but our waitress was right there as soon as we sat down and our drinks were there in no time. She recommended the chicken salad sandwich for me and it was awesome. Crappy food, bad service and hair in my silverware roll up. Pros: stepdad liked his omelette and we all thought the coffee was pretty good. Cons: hubby and I ordered wraps and they were totally bland and tasteless and the amount of chicken was on the skimpy side. Ordered cinnamon raisin toast for my son and it took close to a half an hour to come out. For 2 wraps, an omelette and toast, It took over 30 minutes to arrive! That's nuts! Server put a cup of hot coffee down right in front of my 15 month old. Server didn't check on us, see if we needed anything, explain the wait! We are in support of local businesses. However, we tried Kelly's twice to see if we get our food right and on time. Also to see if Kelly would be friendlier and not snobbish. Well! Nothing has changed so we no longer support that establishment. Nope not going back ever!!!!! I would go to Patty's place where they meet you feel welcomed! Just saying. Or McDonald's, best coffee at a good price! If I can give Kelly a negative 0 star, she's got it. Went here on Father's Day with my wife, my Mother in Law and my Father in Law. I had never been before, but they go fairly regularly. My father in law got the banana walnut pancakes, which he had gotten the week before, and said that they were very good. I got Sausage Gravy. I have had a difficult time finding Sausage Gravy in this area, since I moved here 4 years ago, and it is generally from a can. We asked the waitress if it was from a can, or if it was homemade, and were told that they make it right there. I have to say that I believe it was definitely the best Sausage Gravy I have had in this area. Not too thick, but not too runny either. I was very pleased. Plus, the serving size was spot on with what I would want for breakfast. I did not know how big the serving would be, so I ordered a side of scrapple. I was happy with the scrapple as well. it was not too thin, which is something that I have seen at many places, and it was cooked perfectly. All in all, I will be sure to go back when we are with the in-laws, as I think I have found one of my favorite breakfast places in the Downingtown/Thorndale area! read more

I have been to Kelly's at least a dozen times. I've never had a bad experience until last week when I stopped for a late breakfast. I decided to eat inside. I was able to get a table right away but as I waited for my server, I noticed Kelly walking through the restaurant without her mask on. I realize that there are those of us who believe in masks and those of us who don't. I'm okay with that. However, in a restaurant where the staff is required to wear masks out of what I hope is respect for their customers, I find it unacceptable for the owner to walk around their restaurant without a mask. This was the second time I'd seen her do this. It would be nice if she were to set an example for her staff. Also, if you're not a regular who goes often, don't expect much friendliness. read more

This is a wonderful place to stop for breakfast. We went on a Sunday morning. The place was hopping with locals and we had to wait for about 10 minutes for a table. This is the best breakfast I've had in D-Town yet. I agree with MJ M. This is the best sausage gravy in the area, which is something that is never easy to find. I've yet to have a bad meal there, and consistency is never a problem. The french toast hits the spot and the bacon tastes fresh. My family moved here from Texas less than a year ago and I've been on the lookout for good eateries ever since. I chose the Giant grocery store in this strip mall as my go-to for shopping, but did not notice Kelly's until a friend came to visit me from Australia for my 68th birthday. She wanted to take me and another friend from Philly out to lunch and found Kelly's here on Yelp. She liked the sound of the reviews so we chose to give Kelly's a try. I have to say that I was very impressed by the food, service, and costs. Food came quickly and was very well cooked. I had a mushroom burger that was made exactly the way I like it, and the waitress fulfilled both of my special requests regarding condiments and exchanging chips for salad with a smile. My friends received the same kindly service and ate every bite off their plates, so obviously they enjoyed their food too. One special note... my friends and I have not seen each other in quite a while, so we had a lot to talk about. No one complained or pressured us in any way to hurry up and vacate our table once we finished our meals, even after we discovered that they had actually already closed for the day 15 minutes before we were ready to leave. To me that is amazing. I will wait until I try the breakfast menu to see if I'm prepared to up my rating from a 4 star to 5 star, which I suspect may happen. I only go grocery shopping once a month at Giant, and my Grandchildren always accompany me to help. I now know exactly where we will go to eat before shopping in June... Kelly's for sure. read more
