I think this is 3.5 stars but I'll round up because it is better than other 3-star late-night places I'm reviewing. I mainly come here when other places are closed because it's 24-hours. For some reason, I usually crave fries. Or hash browns. Something potato based. And I don't like their potato options. But I do like their all-beef hotdogs. And dessert options. Service is good, parking is abundant (be careful crossing the street), decor is calming and pretty clean. It just seems like everything here is pretty heavy (their deli sandwiches are bigger than my face) and servings are enormous. So not really my cup of tea, but food is decent and better than most late-night options. read more

OY! Katz's is great! After being sick for a few days, we decided to stop by Katz's around 11 PM on a Friday night and their Matzo Ball soup was exactly what the doctor ordered. It tasted just like grandma was in the back and made it for me. I think I would have been cured of my ailments, but i proceeded my soup with a pumpkin cheesecake milkshake. It was equally as amazing, but it by no means cured my sniffles. As I say, the shake was disgustingly good. They put an entire piece of cheesecake into the shake (disgusting part), but it taste soooo good. Next time I come, I'll grab one of their famous sandwiches and probably another milkshake too. read more

Open 24 hours! A great place to hit up after you have done your partying. Not only is the food delish but the people watching can be a lot of fun too. FYI the REUBEN is HUGE! Fried pickle spears are tasty and you have to at least once try the quintessential Cheesecake shake but please eat responsibly you want to share the goodness with your friends and the calories too. Breakfast is also a treat but be forewarned this is a Kosher establishment so you will not find any pork products. read more

Katz's Deli is a unique spot with a northeastern feel. It has an eclectic menu with mostly deli sandwiches of all sizes and with some tasty combinations like the salami and cream cheese. The fries are big and tasty. The best item there and the reason we have made this our place for celebratory dinners is the cheesecake shake: they literally blend a slice of cheesecake with vanilla ice cream! It is one of our favorite desserts in Houston. read more

This is my favourite place for late-night dining, as they are one of the few places where both service and food quality are consistently good throughout the entire day, including late at night. I've never had to wait for a table, even when we came as a group of 10, and service is provided with a smile from all staff members. The menu is quite large, so choosing a dish can be quite daunting. Food usually comes out quickly, and portion sizes are a little more than what I call a reasonable size, but can sometimes look overwhelming since sides usually come in separate smaller plates. I've never tried anything from the breakfast menu, but I have enjoyed everything I've ordered from them thus far. read more

So I am a homegrown born and raised New Yorker, original my from Brooklyn with easy access to the original Katz' deli. I know it's impossible to compare to the original because there isn't a comparison. The "New Yorker-sized" Hot Pastrami was okay. Not quite the size I remember where I had to take half the sandwich home. The bagel with lox was good. Service was quick and friendly given our large party size. If you're a homesick New Yorker like me, and miss Katz', this might hold you over, but do not come here with expectations of the original Katz' read more

Katz Deli is the spot for late night fresh bite. I love their atmosphere and the quality of their food. I'm so happy about their extra parking space. Now it's very convenient to park and not worrying about getting towed. Therefore, their food is always hot and fresh. I had #12 the skinny size and it was more than enough. Make sure you try their fries pickles they're awesome as well. read more

Katz's is our go to sandwich place! This time we had the salami and cream cheese on challah and the Monte Cristo. Yum! The Monte Cristo is served on french toast with raspberry jam on the side. Salami and cream cheese was absolutely scrumptious with a side of perfectly crunchy onion rings. Our only disappointment was, we left no room for the blueberry blintzes for dessert. read more

Overpriced and tasteless. I ordered takeout for pickup: two sandwiches , an order of fries (which had about 12 fries in the order) and some cheese sticks ( they had a fancy name for them) and paid $50. Not worth the money. The pickup line was slow and the counter staff was not friendly or customer service oriented. Will not order from or visit again. read more

Having had been a to-go server in the industry a while back, I understand it takes quite a bit of patience and intuition to operate smoothly. I have always had a pleasant experience dining in here that but I would like to give Autumn some personal recognition. I totally messed up on an order and she was extremely cordial and helpful resolving it all. I always feel taken care of buy everyone at Katz's, but someone give this girl a raise! Thanks Autumn! read more

I was very, very pleased returning here after 10 years. It was very clean inside. The assistant manager and two staff did a AMAZING job of serving our party of 30 people. The food was also outstanding. Each persons order was correct, hot, and looked amazing. I had the veggie pesto pasta which was delicious. The desserts also looked outstanding. I had to get mine to go bc the entree portions were so big. Parking was tricky but we could even get our 12 passenger van in a spot so it worked out. Very pleasantly surprised by the food but especially by the service with our big group. read more

Let me start by saying our server JT was amazing!!! So super attentive since the moment we were sat! Ask for him if you come here and you will love him. I ordered the BBQ burger and it was delish! Great meat and Mac and cheese was good. My friend ordered spaghetti and meat balls and that was also very yummy! And the fried pickles whoah!! The best I've ever had! Also open 24/7 and deserts are great too! read more

Great place for late night chow! We started with the fried pickles. Yummo! I had a pastrami sandwich on rye. The small is plenty of meat, IF you want to be able to fit the damn thing in your mouth anyway...LOL My honey had the Reuben. Both were very good. Didn't care for their cole slaw and if you've ever been to a real NY Jewish Deli, the pickle they served with the sandwich wasn't the real deal. Good but not great. My honey got a blueberry blintz for dessert and thought it was fair. Our service was fantastic though. Her name is OSEN. All in all a very good experience. read more

A 24-hour restaurant with friendly employees a absolutely delicious food and divine desserts? Yes, please! Katz's has an amazing reputation for delicious food. They talk a big talk, but they can walk a bigger walk. Their fruit salad with yogurt dipping sauce is always fresh and satisfying. Their sandwiches are a little slice of heaven. Oh, speaking of heaven- their cheesecake is a big slice of heaven that just landed in Montrose on Westheimer. Their cheesecake is one of the reasons I have a relationship with my gym. read more

Katz's the like "ole faithful", no matter what, you can ALWAYS count on it to be there, open, and serving quality food. I love this place especially the red velvet cheesecake shake is to die for I also enjoyed the French dip as while.!

What a classic restaurant to show up drunk at! Because Katz's never Kloses, this gives Houstonians a chance to experience the NY deli during different times a day, after many different adventures. Whatever your adventure, you need to fill your tummy with an enormous portion of pastrami and the classic Reuben sandwich. Most sandwich orders come with delicious complimentary coleslaw and pickles. The breakfast menu should be renamed "The Hangover Killer" due to the wonderful and plentiful amount of grease and butter. Now to the classic appetizer: fried pickles. Very good of course! Just savor them, they disappear quickly! For the sweet teeth: the cheesecake milkshake is like a meal in itself. Although very pricey for a milkshake ($10), it's worth it just to say you've sipped on liquid cheesecake. read more

Can't beat a reuben at any hour. That is, unless Katz's brought back their pumpernickel bread, but I digress... Other good items to try, in no particular order or sense: cinammon roll (it really is colossal so share with someone!), corned beef hash (not your typical hash), matzo ball soup, the club sandwich. read more

Good late night to go to grab some dinner or something to eat. We usually go here whenever we get hungry after clubbing. I like their sandwiches but not much a big fan of their salad. It's suppose to make you think or feel like it's an NY type of deli but in reality, it really isn't. Staffs and workers are sweet and friendly. They have delicious pastries and deserts though! read more

I've been seeing the commercials for Katz's in heavy rotation, and the food looked pretty good, so I thought we'd go check 'em out. Heading over on a Saturday evening around 5:30pm, we thought we'd be waiting, but no, we were seated immediately. Our server was friendly and efficient, so we were pleased there. Now, the rest.... The food. Meh. I've had better. WAY better. I went with the hot open-faced roast beef sandwich and my husband had a philly cheesesteak with onion rings. First of all, I'm a yankee, and have NEVER heard of serving an open faced roast beef sandwich without mashed potatoes. Insanity. Their offerings were french fries or onion rings. The onion rings were tasty...which is more than I can say for the sandwich. Oh my....or meh. This thing was BLAND...bland and tough and DRY! GEEZ, is gravy at such a premium that the BREAD underneath the meat remained dry throughout my dinner? Apparently so. The texture of this meat can best be described as shoe leather. Wow...just bad all around. My husband said his cheesesteak was decent...he's had better also. He didn't elaborate on the minutae of his meal...but he's a guy, what do you expect. Oh, lest I forget...for an appetizer we had the potato skins (which had "beef" bacon)...never heard of that and now I know why....tastes like someone sliced a few hot dogs and put them on top of my skins. Eww. These were pretty bland too. The kicker comes with the bill....and I mean literally I thought I was kicked in the face when I saw it. $63!!!!!!! SIXTY THREE DOLLARS FOR AN APPETIZER, TWO DELI SANDWICHES AND SOFT DRINKS! Holy crap!!! I will take the blame, however, for not paying attention to the prices on the menu and just ordering....assuming I was going to pay "deli" prices for "deli" sandwiches. For the record, my awful sandwich was $13 and my husbands cheesesteak was $16. Yes, that is not a misprint. SIXTEEN DOLLARS for a cheesesteak. Well, we've tried it. Once and done thankyouverymuch. read more

Fantastic service from Chante! Food was great also. Will be going back and sitting in her section.

This would be a 5 star review if it wasn't for the 2 hostesses one male and one female. We arrive and we're told it was a 25 minute wait, that's fine. We decided we would go outside to wait. We go outside for about 10 minutes until a homeless man is seen urinating about 10 feet away. Me and my wife have our 8 year old little girl with us so we walk inside to wait. There was no one in the lobby waiting. After a couple minutes the female hostess asks if we could wait outside, I told her I would but we are the only ones inside the lobby and it's hot, so I don't want to wait outside, so she looks at us with a go to hell look and mumbles something under her breath. ( I figured I would spare them the details) At that point the other host, a male; approaches us and asks the same thing and I reply and tell him the same thing I told her. So he walks back over to the female host and says, "we should just scratch there name off the list, fuckkng white people" at that point I see a female manager and tell her about what happened and she was very apologetic. I told her, "it's not your fault, I think they are just stupid." However the damage was done already. Then about 30 minutes later, the table right behind us sees the same male host, and asks for a refill, and he tells her you can just ask your server. And then goes back up to the front to continue conversing with the other host. We will not be returning to Katz because y'all can't hire employees that aren't too stupid to operate a host stand. Those two employees need to go to the unemployment line where they belong. This was regarding a visit on 7-15-21 at about midnight I posted this on 7-16-21 and the owner has yet to reach out to anyone. I guess the owner does not care how his host staff treats his customers. I guarantee you that if the roles were reversed and the hosts were white and we were black, and the hosts had said "fucking black people" the owner would have responded. What a class act. read more

This place has really gone downhill. Especially considering what they charge. 45 minutes for a bowl of matza bowl soup and a roast beef sandwich. The soup was ok but the roast beef sandwich was on white bread instead of the requested sour dough and looked like someone tossed it together in a real hurry. Correction: the waiter insisted I DID get the sourdough. If that's true their sourdough is indistinguishable from wonder bread. Either way don't order sourdough with high expectations. read more

First time at Katz. I was really excited. Love Corn Beef on Rye. The sandwich was the worst that I have ever eaten. Bread was dry or stale. I had to keep loading it with mustard because it was so dry. My friend had the French Dip.She said it was ok - only ate half. With the two drinks the bill with tip was $50. for lunch. Service was good but when I told her the bread was stale she said she would tell them. Maybe it was the type of rye that they serve but to me never again. I am a Kenny and Ziggy fan and would never to anywhere else for my authentic New York Corn Beef Sandwich. read more

TERRIBLE SERVICE. Placed an order through Uber Eats around 10:00pm. Once my initial delivery time on the app had passed I followed up with the store to confirm my order had successfully went through because I could not check the progress of it through the app due to it no longer showing my order was in progress. I was told by an employee that my order HAD been picked up around 15-20 mins ago. I called again an hour later and no one could confirm a status on my order they advised me to check the app for further communication regarding my order. The app no longer listed my order as ongoing or as a past order so I was unable to make edits or changes to my order once I placed my order to begin with. I called again a third time and was disconnected. My fourth call after waiting 38 minutes I spoke with a rude inconsiderate nonchalant trash excuse of a store manager named Perry who first told me my order had been canceled. I advised Perry if my order had been canceled I would not be reaching out to confirm the whereabouts of my order 4 hours later. Also I asked Perry why did a Katz Deli employee CONFIRM my order was picked up by a driving service if my order had been canceled. The store continued to not accept responsibility or even remorse for the unprofessionalism and inconveniences I faced. I spent approximately $71 including tip just to be told they didn't know or didn't care about my order although I had been charged. Perry also could not explain how an employee confirmed just hours prior that my order had been picked up just for him to lie and say it was cancelled. Someone like that should not be working in the restaurant/business industry if they don't possess the etiquette on how to speak to a frustrated customer when HIS restaurant and bad communication with his employees is the reason for concern. Do NOT spend your money here. These people are rude and irresponsible and have no disregard for others. Horrible place to be a patron of business with liars and service. read more

Refused to give me a seat despite not even being close to being full. Hostess was rude. I will never come here again.

Possibly the WORST service I have ever received at a restaurant. Our waiter completely disappeared before we even got our food and I had to get up and leave the table to track down a different waitress to get help. There was only a couple other tables in the entire place and we waited OVER AN HOUR for our food, mind you it was not a complicated order whatsoever. We asked for the check before we even got our food just so we wouldn't have to wait on it when we finally got our food. The waiters explanation for our simple order of French toast and two sandwiches taking 45 minutes was that the cooks have to cook and clean the kitchen at the same time. By the time we got our food we had him bring to go boxes with our food and just took it all to go. A waste of an hour of my life after a long work shift. Could've been asleep or halfway to Kansas by now. read more
