Parmesan Truffle Fries
Briann R.

Delicious burger as always! Everything Ryan quickly and smoothly here. The staff is ante rove and helpful. I especially love this locations for their patio!

Me and my daughter are fans of Hopdoddy burgers. Our favorite is the poblano llano burger it's not in the menu anymore and now it's considered part of their "secret menu". This burger has been our favorite for years and we always ordered this one along with some truffle Parmesan fries. The staff was nice, nothing over the top, I mean, it's a burger spot, you serve yourself your dressing and your drinks and they bring the food to your assigned table, the service is fast, and the burgers are always good!

Had a craving for a Bison Burger... after scouring the internet, we ended up at this location in Rice Village. Per usual, parking is hit or miss. You have to take a menu, order at the cashier and find your seat. Each seat has a number on it, so be sure you know yours. We ordered: Burgers: Cadillac & Roosevelt Sides: Truffle fries & Kale Caesar Just fyi, their sides are huge portions. I'm sure one could feed 3-4ppl w/burgers. I like that they didn't skimp on the goat cheese and my husband liked his burger as well. Very casual ambiance. I wasn't fond of the fact that the fries came out way before the burgers or salad was brought to the table. Other than that we enjoyed it. Enter freely, they've been approved

Happy hour will probably be packed with Rice students (beware of slower service!) Big fan of the frozen margaritas, highly recommend the strawberry or passion fruit! Burgers are on the smaller side but they will fill you up. Also must get the garlic truffle fries, pairs very nicely with the aioli.

The service was quick and efficient. The ambiance is nice, industrial but really great patio and play area outside. There was live music which was a fun surprise. The fries are pretty good, just wish they were a bit crispier. The bacon jam burger lacked flavor overall, but still a quality burger.

Roosevelt

We also enjoy a good burger especially after shopping around Rice Village. It was a little crowded but the line seemed to move along pretty well. There was someone there that was helping to direct what tables people should sit at based on their party size, I'm not sure if this is something they always do or if it was because it was crowded. The food came out as it was ready. On one hand, it was great because the food was still hot when it came out, but there was definitely a lag between each item being delivered to our table. The queso fries are always a must for us. We prefer to dip the fries in the queso vs. mixing it into the bowl of fries. Both burgers we ordered were so good! The goat cheese on the Roosevelt really made the burger stand out. You can also really taste the truffle aioli and steak sauce on the Cadillac. If you want something different from a standard burger, these are ones you should try!

Green Chile Queso Fries and Magic Shroom burger
Rachel S.

I love hopdoddy! I've been coming to this location ever since they opened. My favorites are the Magic Shroom and Diablo burger. I'm a huge fan of the Parmesan truffle fries and green chile queso fries as well. On my most recent visit on a Saturday night, they were pretty busy but as we arrived around 8:30pm we were able to get a table. The service was very quick and all the employees were kind. Hopdoddy has a sports bar/relaxed restaurant feel to it that I really enjoy. We opted for the magic shroom burger and green chile queso fries, and two margs. The food actually came before the margs and we dove right in! As always, the burger was succulent and delicious. I love the goat cheese but it does make the burger a bit on the soggier side. Regardless, we polished it off quickly and enjoyed our side of fries. The fries portion is sizable so probably better to share with more than two people. Our margs were very tasty and spirit-forward! As always, hopdoddy more than hit the mark. I'll definitely be back!

Nacho fries - Love them!

We have picked up food and also dined in and we have had a great experience with the food. The burgers taste really good and the fries are pretty awesome! If you go in the evening, it's likely to be packed and the wait can be a bit long. To go orders typically take long during peak times. The staff are generally very nice and the manager, Vinnie, is pretty great. He's helpful and attentive. Overall, I highly recommend them! Get the app and you'll get some free stuff.

Hopdoddy used to be my favorite burger place but my recent experiences have not been impressive. More than a month ago, my husband and I decided to have lunch here on a Saturday after the lunch rush. We arrived at around 2pm but it was still busy, which is normal for this location. We placed our order, got a table, waited for 20 minutes until my husband saw another party receiving their food despite coming in after us. We asked for updates on ours and was told it's up next. The server later delivered our food with 2 vouchers for free burgers. I decided to give Hopdoddy another try 2 weeks ago. The highlight of my Hopdoddy meal would always be the Parmesan Truffle fries - can't go wrong with crisp thin fries with amazing aioli sauce! But the parmesan fries were a little stale this time. I'm really glad I tried the Sweet Potato fries though. They were delicious! I love the hint of heat & sweetness together. I didn't really care for the burger. I felt like the patty was overcooked, fried onions were salty. Overall, the burgers are alright. If I do come back, it would be for the fries. I used to be impressed with the creativity & variety of the menu, not so much recently with the execution and service.

Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich
Pareesa M.

Hopdoddy is a classic burger spot for me in rice village! I prefer chicken sandwiches, so I stick to the Nashville Hot Chicken Sandwich. Their thunderbird burger (that I get without bacon) is also great, but I enjoy the crisp of the Nashville. Their Parmesan truffle fries are also a staple - but be warned they are pretty salty!

The Doddy Melt
Darlena B.

This place was wonderful! The food was absolutely delicious. The service was great. We ate outside so the atmosphere was great too. I had the Doddy Melt, my husband had the El Bandito & we shared some sweet potato fries. Everything was delicious & very filling! Pricing was pretty much typical for a specialty burger joint.

I had opted for a beef burger with a side of chili cheese tater tots to share. The burger is quite large and filled generously with whatever add-ins you check off so it was very filling for me. I went with two 2oz patties, but considering the size, I'd opt for a single 2 oz patty if I go back. For my burger I also added scallion aioli which didn't have a strong green onion flavor but was still nice and added creaminess to the burger overall. The tater tots were super crispy, and the chili cheese topping was nice. I had gone shortly after they opened and it wasn't super busy but it started to quickly fill up around 11:30-12. The basic burger is $12, and anything you want to add or replace is extra. Now that's including the basic sauce, which I thought would be an additional homemade sauce if I needed. Again, I am learning. I ordered grilled chicken, but at the counter, a very nice person, Eric, told me they were out of grilled chicken and had fried chicken available. I guess so, since I spend some time. I don't want to wait any longer. I also ordered homemade lemonade, which came with lots of ice. I requested that some ice be removed. I also added chard jalapenos, which were tasteless and slightly burned, so they lost their flavor. The food pick-up area was separate, and the guy who gave you a food tray could have been friendlier and said thank you. Oh well, my burger was a piece of chicken with lettuce and onion. It was ok but very dry inside. So make sure you order sauce or anything for your burger, and pay for it. When I got there, the dining hall was empty. I like this place, but plz if you're going there for the first time, read the menu carefully and place your order. Service could be friendlier, and the dining hall was clean.

I went with the Double Good Burger at Johnny Good Burger, and honestly... it was surprisingly good. Perfectly smashed patties with those crispy edges, juicy inside, and well-balanced flavors that didn't feel overcomplicated. Sometimes simple just works--and this definitely did. The fries deserve their own shoutout: extra crispy, hot, and downright addictive. No soggy sadness here. I kept telling myself "just one more" until the tray was mysteriously empty. All in all, a very satisfying burger experience. If you're in the mood for a legit smash burger and happen to be wandering POST Houston, this one's absolutely worth stopping for.

There were no other customers at the time, but that's to be expected for a slow Monday. The menu is quite simple with just 4 different entrees, 3 different ways to order fries, and a few soft drink options in a cold case. Everything here is a la carte but there is a combo option where you can save about $3 off the regular menu pricing. I chose the "Double Good" and added a patty for $3 more figuring the patties are most likely very thin. The burger comes with lettuce, onion tomato, pickles and special sauce. I subbed the American for Swiss, but the Swiss ended up being a Swiss-American blend, so it tasted mostly like American cheese which I hate. I keep having bad luck with Swiss lately. The patty is about 1/4 lb and tastes similar to a home cooked burger. I ended up setting the burger down and just eating the patty with a fork since I didn't like the taste of the cheese, sauce, or the entire burger as a whole after a handful of bites. Overall, I'm glad I finally tried it but this is not a burger I would come back for, especially at this price point.

Clutch City Grill sits next to Burger Chan (the most recent title holder of best burger for my son) but this Sunday, they were not open so we tried the one we didn't try last time--CCG. And let me just say that this place tucked away inside a collective indoor food concession aka The Conservatory Galleria, has every right to boldly don the clutch city burger title. Inside this perfectly grilled almost Hawaiian role type hint of sweet homemade bun is a masterclass of burger perfection, made right in front of you and to your liking based on your selections from the order tap screens. While, waiting, I looked at everything I didn't order as it was being served and I'm almost certain that anything you order at CCG is delicious. Presentation is superb because others were sitting with large selections in front of them that caused me a bit of buyers remorse--I couldn't decide. The vibe is chill enough to talk to the grill master while my son was figuring out his massive burger order--he randomly had a hash brown added to a patty melt. And ordered something to take home or in case one order wasn't enough for the teen appetite. But the food is massive. I cannot stress that enough. Portions of everything there are beyond generous from what we saw and this is the kind of place where there's delivery guys picking up, people working on their laptops and the average joe grabbing takeout after work as well as families having dinner but not crowded. We sat and reflected on a great shopping day in a chill environment and reminisced on the old days of Galleria area last minute back to school night before/we should do this more type of memories in the making. The take something to go plus my own leftover (cutting the burger in half is an open from the order touch screen) and it passed the ultimate test of being really good cold the next day. This place begs the question--where is everybody? I can't be the only one who knows about it. But also was inviting enough to silently confirm that I think we've found our place. One that even has a cool bathroom with a mirror that says "you look amazing." Exactly how you're going to feel about the food that looks even better than it does in its promo photos
