The server might be new as she didn't seem to know what she was doing. Coffee took a long time to come. When the meals started to arrive she didn't include utensils, jam or napkins. Also the only utensils we could find were those one use wooden types. Those are okay for take out but we were eating off of plates and should have metal utensils. There were three of us and the first two were at least half done before mine even arrived. Those were the bad points, or the problems that need corrective action. On the positive side the cook (who I think is the owner) did a good job of cooking tasty meals. He was slow but he knew what he was doing. My partner's omelet look unique and she really enjoyed it. My wrap was good too. The cook understood English much better than the server and had more personality on display when he greeted his customers. Hopefully they will resolve the service issues. If they do, they should do well.

We actually stopped to eat here about 4 years ago during our previous visit to Edmonton. This diner has an old-school vibe upon walking in. It wasn't super busy and we got seated right away without waiting. The wait staff was friendly and attentive. They were always ready to top off our coffee cups! The food is typical diner fare and it was decent. The portions were very generous and our group was quite full after our meal. I ordered the bacon and eggs since I wasn't feeling super hungry at the time. The hash browns were good, but not crispy enough. The coffee was decent, too. Overall, we enjoyed our final brunch of our trip. Since this restaurant is on the way to the airport, we would likely stop here again the next time we come back to Edmonton!

This was our second private function booked this year at Saratoga, and again, we were not disappointed. Saratoga normally closes at 4:00 pm, so we had the entire restaurant at our disposal for our 6:00 pm function. The pre-ordered dinners were simply outstanding. We had a choice of soup or salad starter, Turkey Dinner with dressing and mashed potatoes or BBW Pork Ribs with coleslaw and mashed potatoes or fries, with both entrees served with a perfectly cooked vegetable medley, and a choice of Rice Pudding or Brownie with Ice Cream. Price per person including GST and gratuity was more than price competitive with comparable family style restaurants. Our club has a number of hard core foodies. We're a tough crowd to please. Unusual for large group functions, every single attendee said they enjoyed their meal and Saratoga's ambience. Both pre-ordered main courses were impressively large servings. The Turkey Dinner was described by many as one of the BEST Turkey dinner they had ever enjoyed at any restaurant at any price. As I looked over the menu I reminded myself why I hadn't been here in a while. There are absolutely no gluten free options for anyone with celiac disease. I don't have it but my wife does unfortunately. We decided on our food items and it didn't take long for our food to arrive. I ordered the Eggs Benedict which was delicious. Eggs were a nice runny medium and the hash-browns nicely seasoned. But for the 2 Bennys and the hash-browns I thought the $20 price point was a bit too much for what you get.

These guys have no clue,, how to make a Reuben sandwich. They need to take it off the menu since they don't know how to make one!! Hubby ordered a donair and it was totally stuffed with lettuce to make it look fuller. He said it was ok I have never seen a donair with huge chunks of iceberg lettuce in it.
