Haven't been to this diner in a very long time, but decided to treat my dad to a filling breakfast. It was just after ten in the morning and the parking lot was already pretty full. But when we walked in there was still plenty of seating inside. The front of house server was very friendly and seated us promptly. As I looked over the menu I reminded myself why I hadn't been here in a while. There are absolutely no gluten free options for anyone with celiac disease. I don't have it but my wife does unfortunately. We decided on our food items and it didn't take long for our food to arrive. I ordered the Eggs Benedict which was delicious. Eggs were a nice runny medium and the hash-browns nicely seasoned. But for the 2 Bennys and the hash-browns I thought the $20 price point was a bit too much for what you get. read more

I heard that this restaurant had some pretty good breakfast deals a while back so I had been wanting to try this place out. Obviously it's nothing fancy and I wasn't expecting to be wowed by the food. There is plenty of parking at the restaurant. I came here Sunday afternoon for lunch. Although it was busy there were a handful of open tables so we were seated right away. The staff I dealt with were awesome. I absolutely loved our waitress. I wish I got her name. She was prompt with everything, made sure to check in more than once, and had a wonderful attitude. They have a robot machine that delivers the food to your table. Our table didn't get to experience that though. I did find the restaurant to be a bit loud so it was tough to have a conversation at times. The restaurant had a typical diner feel to it with the type of seating and decor. I ordered the french toast combo with eggs, sausage, and potatoes. I added strawberries and whip for an extra $2. The strawberries were fresh and they definitely did not cheap out. They also added some kind of strawberry sauce on top too which was a nice surprise. I did enjoy my french toast however, the sides weren't anything special. The scrambled eggs weren't really scrambled and they were a bit overcooked. The sausages were a little tough and the potatoes were just okay. The dish was pretty filling though. I was full for pretty much the duration of the day. My friend ordered the brisket sandwich special with the mac. I tried the brisket and it was shockingly good! I am not a brisket person but I would definitely order that dish. I can't speak to the mac n cheese but she said it was surprisingly delicious. I love how they have a bit of everything on the menu. There's definitely something for everyone on here and the prices are fairly reasonable. I would definitely come back from time to time. I wish they build a south location. read more

Had a turkey sandwich on Tuesday February 18, 25 I have been dealing with food poisoning for the last two days not impressed. Won't be going back to that place. Had I read the report from the city? Easy to find with Google Maps. Parking available in front of the restaurant. Only 10% full 12:30PM on a Tuesday. Waitress was kind but never came to check on us during the meal until all plates were empty and we were ready for the bill (45min approx.). No water or coffee refills. Loved the large variety of homemade soups available. Menu is as per the online menu. I got the Meat lovers Burrito. I liked how the egg was cooked on to the wrap but it made the burrito so small and look so thin. I wish they put the hashbrowns IN the wrap as other restaurants have - makes it look fuller and give it more sustenance. Overall taste was fine but not exciting. Not very filling. 7/10. Hashbrowns were 10/10 yummy. Boyfriends got the California Burrito. He really liked the avocado in it. Friend 1 got the Fish and Chips. Loved the fish said very very good. Fries were super hot and fresh and crisp but needed salt. Friend 2 asked for 1 fish so she got the "seniors" meal. Very happy with her meal/taste/portion. We all split the Cookies 'N Cream Cake. It was 10/10 delicious but I don't recall the price. There's a display case with cake slices that would be great for takeout or take-home. Cold French Fries and over cooked Liver. Wife had a Monte Crisco and she said that it was the worst that she had ever had.

(0 - 5) Christmas Eve, I take my brother and mother and a couple friends for a nice "Special Turkey Dinner". To the tune of $150.00. The meal was completely inedible. I asked for no stuffing. I got extra stuffing, no vegetables and dry potatoes. I asked for the vegetables which were supposed to be included and was told it would cost extra. The under 2 oz of dry hard turkey chunks had to have been frozen left overs from a turkey leg. It was tough and hard to chew. No apologies, concern, nothing after they cleared nearly full plates that had been picked at out of embarrassment and guilt of my guests trying to be polite. It was humiliating taking people out for such a horrible meal. On the way home they said THEY felt horrible the food was so bad. My mom felt so bad she brought back left overs but threw them in the trash when we got home. I then had to cook dinner because we were hungry. I pray we can save even one person, one family from having to go through what we went through. If I can pull out a single positive thought it would be that it is an interesting looking restaurant. I am completely devastated. The restaurant was pretty much empty the entire time we were there so I guess people already know how bad it is. read more

I have to admit my expectations were not high but what a lovely surprise. Best Denver sandwich which was well built with fresh vegetables and chunks of ham. Side salad was large and had cucumbers, shredded cabbage and loads of green. Well done! read more

This was my first time dining in, so far and during the last 2 years I've been either ordering to pick up or through a delivery app, but finally I decided to stop by and enjoy their food.  Jay Bee's menu is pretty extensive, you can find breakfast, lunch, dinner, desserts, and delicious milkshakes.  The inside is very comfortable, the boots are great, the tables are good size, there is tons of light coming in, the windows are kept clean! I'm very happy we decided to stay, my son and I enjoyed a delicious brunch! The servers were amazingly friendly, very good at taking care of us.  Also there is tons of parking outside of the restaurant so you don't have to worry about that. the place looks really nice, tidy and modern look for a diners. I like the color combination of the interior and the costumer service is great and waiting for the food is about 10mins which is good and they serve all day breakfast but I didn't see any pork in their menu, I think this is halal restaurant. I only order two food in their menu but all I can say about the western omelet is like tease of home made breakfast there's nothing else maybe I was expecting more about the omelet I hope they'll find new texture or flavour on the omelet but the blue berry pancakes there not too sweet which is really good not over power the honey or sweetness and you can still tease the blueberry!! you have to try it! I recommended!! overall four star! read more

This location just opened on Dec 2nd and for being open almost a week, they were very organized and the food was pretty good! We went there on Sunday, Dec 8th around 12:30pm and was seated right away. The table and booth was very clean. The restaurant is bright, and clean as well. Our server greeted us shortly after we were seated and was very pleasant. All the staff were smiling and very nice to deal with. We were a bit surprised at first to realize that there was no pork products on the menu. Which is not a bad thing, but we expected a similar menu to the 118 ave location. This location is 100% Halal which is pretty brilliant since there are very few true Halal restaurants that serve a Canadian style breakfast or other entrees. I had the French toast crisp with blueberries and my spouse had the 2 egg classic breakfast with beef bacon. Neither of us even knew that beef bacon existed, but we both liked it! His breakfast was fairly standard for a classic breakfast (eggs, toast, shredded hash browns and the bacon). My French toast crisp was good, but I wasn't a fan. There was nothing outwardly wrong with it or tasted weird, but it was just my palette. Don't let that stop you from trying it! I don't think I would order it again, but this won't stop us from going back and trying something different! Their burgers look amazing and there are lots of other options on their menu. Overall the service was great, food was good, location and parking great and we'll try it again in the near future! This was my first time visiting Jaybees, and there were pros and cons to the experience. Pros: the diner is bright and cheerful, with a great 50's feel; the coffee was nice and strong; the food was good and good portion sizes. Cons: it took over 20 minutes from when we sat and got our menus to place our order, all the while watching the waitress chat with other customers who were obviously regulars; we had ordered coffee and without a word the waitress came by and just plunked a carafe of coffee on our table, obviously signifying she was too busy for refills: and, most importantly, the waitress's mask was hanging from her ears, not covering her nose or mouth. I am willing to bet this may have been an off experience- for a weeknight there were a good number of tables filled and it seemed like many were regulars. The menu is huge and has lots of great choices. The food was good enough to give them another go whenever I make it back to that neighborhood, but I'll make sure to say something next time if the mask thing is still an issue. read more

First time going to jbees about 10 of us went Christmas eve it was the worst food and service there . Food was cold they than over charge us for what we had. It was the worst service I have seen in a restaurant had to send our food back because it was cold and some over cooked. read more

Stopped by the new diner on the north end of Edmonton, Jay Bee's, for a mid afternoon late breakfast/lunch. We ordered the Eggs Benedict and jalapeno burger and fries with gravy. The Benedict was well done with medium eggs, a good Hollandaise sauce and tasty turkey bacon. Unfortunately, the shredded hash browns were cold. The jalapeno burger was very flavorful with a good sized patty and a nice side dish of yummy coleslaw. The fries were crispy hot with good gravy The service was good. The diner has the 50's look and feel. The menu is extensive and that is the problem. The food was good but overall nothing is over the top good. It is a good spot with good service and good food, that's all. read more

Do not order directly from the restaurant, or online through their website. An order that was supposed to be delivered in 30 minutes, never came. I called after 45 minutes and they told me we should have it within 10 to 15 minutes, 20 minutes later (1 hr and 10 minutes after I placed the order) I called and they were still waiting for their delivery driver to come back. I cancelled the order as who knows when the driver would show up. This has been the second time we've ordered online from them, and we should have made note after the first time when they arrived 20 minutes after the time they said and the food was warm and soggy, which we also declined. Note: the restaurant gives their driver two or three orders at a time to deliver, so it's a toss up if you're going to get fast delivery and good food, or late delivery and soggy warm food. Bright clean and fresh decor. Lots of hard shiny surfaces which make it very loud when half full or more. The staff is wonderful some from past tenants of the building. Good menu but........the halal menu can be an acquired taste. Have had breakfast there 3 times and the turkey sausage in my omelet has a very distinct flavour or it was reused from the day before which is quite possible. Bottom line if you don't mind turkey substitutions for pork or beef bacon go for it. Not a bad deal overall. read more
