We came here to celebrate my daughter's birthday, cause she loves shrimp. We made a reservation and I'm glad we did because it was pretty busy and surprisingly loud. The atmosphere is a bit different than I remember in recent years. It is definitely geared more towards families than a romantic night out. Not necessarily a bad thing just different. There was a great kids menu, which I had never noticed before. My daughter ended up ordering fried fish funny enough but it was her birthday so she could order what she wanted. I had shrimp 3 ways, garlic, bbq, and classic. All were very good. Hubs ordered the lobster pasta which I tasted and it was amazing! The biscuits were sinfully delicious as always and we each had at least 3. I had a white wine, which I loved and immediately went out and bought a bottle. The server was amazing and really made my daughter feel special. She got the super fancy Sunday at the end and everyone sang happy birthday. Good food great service. read more

Wait time was 20 minutes. We were seated in about 15 minutes. Immediately asked what we wanted for drinks and they arrived quickly. We were a party of 4 (3 adults one child 7 years old). We ordered 2 ultimate feasts, shrimp and rock lobster and from the kids menu grilled shrimp and a lobster tail, and a bottle of red wine. Every single one of us enjoyed our meals. Easy to find via Google maps. Surprisingly busy 6pm on a Tuesday. Heard Happy Birthday being sung 4 times while we had dinner. Staff was super friendly and good at keeping our waters full. Buiscuts were perfect - warm, salty, delicious. Kung Pao noodles were disappointing. Fried shrimp were well cooked but tasteless. No seasoning and no sauce. A Ton of noodles which had a nice kick of spice but very little edamame beans, cashews. Coconut shrimp is my Favorite and has been my favorite fried shrimp in Edmonton. We wanted to celebrate my parents 50th Wedding Anniversary, and they really enjoy red lobster so we decided to throw a dinner party at the Westend location. I used to bartend at this location back in the day, but haven't been back since I left until this last weekend. Walking in, I felt that the inside seemed very dated. Didn't seem to look that bad when I used to work there. Definitly could use a interior makeover. They have upgraded the exterior since my departure. Our waiter was pretty good and friendly. A few things that downgraded their rating was one of the entrees was missed so my cousin had to sit and watch everyone digging into their food while she ate cheese biscuits. Also, a different waiter was walking by with glasses on his tray and it got caught on one of our balloons, and took a tumble. Glass and leftover drink EVERYWHERE! The wife was pretty upset because her authentic LV purse is sticky and needs to be cleaned. Some glass got into the purse also so it was quite the accident. They did not offer us any compensation or discount for the accident, but apologized profusely. As for the food, I got the lobster and shrimp tacos from the feature menu. I must say it was pretty tasty! I really enjoy Pico so I was in heaven. The cheese biscuits weren't as flavourful as I remember them and my Caesar drink was not as tasty as I used to make (but I'm also pretty amazing so can't fault them for trying their best). The only reason we dined here is because my Mom was given a gift card for her birthday. Otherwise my parents usually like to cook their own seafood at home. I must add that once you've eaten fresh seafood (in particular shellfish) in the Maritimes or any coastal location, you'll find it very hard to appreciate the seafood in landlocked Alberta. Even when it's cooked well it isn't the same. The bar gets set pretty high. The Ultimate Feast Platter was promising. There was a decent amount of seafood. Tender Maritime lobster tail, snow crab legs, signature garlic shrimp and Walt's Favourite Shrimp. Served with melted butter, lemon, cocktail sauce and your choice of side. Two people can easily share. The presentation on the plate was appetizing. My major complaint is that I found the all the seafood really salty! I found myself eating a lot of fries (which were less salty in comparison) and drinking lots to neutralize the saltiness. We came around lunch on a cold winter Sunday. It was quiet which worked out for us because we have a rambunctious toddler. Our family was tucked away in a corner. I'd say the ambiance was pretty relaxed when we dined here. Our server was also attentive and friendly. I don't think I'll be back here any time soon. The seafood is just not my favourite here. Funny thing is that my Dad ordered a burger for his meal. I am not the biggest fan of Red Lobster but my in-laws love it. I am not one who enjoys the insects of the sea, so I always struggle to find something on the menu. We went there to celebrate their wedding anniversary. I ordered the sesame soy salmon bowl. I was pleasantly surprised- it had a lot of good texture to it, especially the crispy Brussels sprouts. Service was friendly, but one of the meals at our tables was forgotten, and a sticky beverage was spilled on my handbag. Fortunately, I was able to get it cleaned up at home. Came here (not by choice). Prior to this recent visit, I have not been to RL in over 8 years because the food was going downhill. It seemed to have gotten even worse. Despite that though the restaurant was pretty busy. The wait staff is lovely, friendly, and attentive. The food on the other hand was awful. The calamari was very bland, spinach dip very salty, lobster topped tilapia was drenched in hollandaise sauce so it was extremely rich and buttery on top of that the fish had no flavour. The "cheddar bay biscuits" had no cheese in it and again was flavourless. You're better off buying the box mix at Walmart and making your own. Coleslaw drenched in dressing that it was leaking everywhere. The cocktails were way too sweet. The only thing they get points for is the brussels sprouts. Those were amazing. We came here with 8 people and only 2 actually enjoyed their meal. Please don't waste your time coming here. They were fantastic 10+ years ago but that time has now passed. They also need to upgrade their restaurant as the furniture and decor is extremely dated/falling apart. read more

Food is decent. Lobster, shrimp and crab. Long wait to be seated. Hostess staff are super inexperienced and have poor training. Service is hit or miss. But my last visit was exceptional. The hostess staff here are probably the worst in the city. We waited over 45 minutes on our last visit with a reservation. It seemed like priority was given to smaller groups of 5 or 6 people bc they only waited less than 5 minutes without a reservation. Supposedly they check you in and assign you a table. If the table they assign you is occupied. You're basically screwed until they leave. The list doesnt have any order. And it's basically decided on your wait depending on your luck. Well we shit were out of luck, and I got so angry I spoke to the manager after 50min. I spoke to a few of my instagram friends about it too and this is supposedly a regular occurence. One of my friends waited 1.5 hours for a table while everyone else was seated in less than 15 min. Obviously the system doesnt work. When we finally sat down. Our server redeemed herself with fresh bisquits. We had 3 baskets for the 7 of us. And they were gone quick bc of the long wait. Food was decent. Nothing spectacular. But the food was hot. My brother was sick and he only ordered a clam chowder. And he ended up getting his meal dead last after everyone had their meals for 5 minutes. Weird bc it's just a bowl of soup which gets plated then served. Management was good and dealt with the issues so we left happy. But it still happened...and it's happened before too. It's kind if the reason why I dont frequent the place as often as we would like. Its consistently crappy hostessing. We spent over $240 for all of us, and you think they would want groups to come back. Unfortunately every time we come here, we boycott it for months until we forget about the terrible experience yet to be reminded of it upon our next visit. The food is typical red lobster fare. I don't recommend this place. The washroom was disgusting, and table was not clean. As for the food, i am very disappointed and have previously loved red lobster. The meals were horrible. It took them 30 mins to advise me that our side were no longer available. The bacon wrapped scallops were overcooks and not fresh. Boiled/steamed frozen seafood that's smothered in salty butter, what more can you ask for? We tried their new menu item called the Ultimate Feasts which came to $51. It includes 2 premium items and 2 classic items and one side. We went with the lobster tail, snow crab legs, shrimp in herb butter, butterflied deep fried shrimp, and fries. It came with sides of ketchup, cocktail sauce, and butter. Everything was over salted by 30-50% but this is a common technique in restaurants. The biscuits were salty, the clarifies butter was salty, and the butter that the shrimp were sautéed in was the saltiest of all! Snow crab is the step child of Alaskan King Crab and the amount of meat is minimal. And it's still a lot of work to get the meat out of the hard shells. All of the seafood was over cooked which is common because restaurants don't want the liability of serving undercooked seafood that could get people sick. If I cooked these items at home it would get probably half the boiling time and would be much softer and tasty. Service was good, bathrooms were clean, parking was free. They use these weird POS machines for payment that doesn't have the tap feature. It's a digital device with a screen and menu that has paid games for kids and ads. read more

Forced to dine here (for various reasons) and we already had a very low bar set. Sadly, the experience and food managed to go even below that! The seats are crammed in, uncomfortable and felt like we we were dining in a bus station waiting area. The restrooms are gross and dirty with very sticky floors (one can only imagine what that is?) and clearly not a priority for the staff. Wonder what state the kitchen is in?!? The service was ridiculously slow, bad and clueless. After getting our orders wrong a few times (food also showed up already cold) and then having to ask for the same sides multiple times, that finally showed up AFTER we were done eating, is truly outstanding. If they were paying us, it would be different, but this experience absolutely sealed the deal and I will never return to this dump or any other crap RL or Olive Garden restaurants again, not that I most likely would've anyway. Time to close shop guys and rip the compost bin dump right down. read more

Usually my family and I do not go to Red Lobster unless its Endless Shrimp. My dad chose to go here for his birthday and what a terrible mistake that was. We were seated pretty quickly in-spite of it being so busy. The place cleared pretty quickly after. Once seated our server took a while to even come by our table to get our drink orders. She did not introduce herself at all and just asked if we wanted to order our food.. We asked if we could order our drinks 1st and then look over the menu to decide. Water took forever to get to us.. didn't seem like a difficult drink order. We seem to have come during lobster fest, which turned out to be a disappointment. The steaks were very boring and the lobster was nothing special. The biscuits that are at the table were the best thing that we ate. Came here again the other day for a weekend lunch with the entire family in tow. I don't know why I keep trying this place... Yet again an utterly disappointing meal. My mother and I each ordered the endless shrimp special for $19.99. The shrimp were so small that they earned their name. They definitely did not resemble the shrimps from the commercials on TV. The endless special doesn't include extra sides - only 4 pieces of broccoli for $19.99. They also only allowed one shrimp refill at a time which means that it would take you nearly 90 minutes if you wanted to try all 6 puny shrimp dishes - Which by the way weren't very exciting. My daughter's child menu option of chicken fingers for $5.99 had a larger portion than my husbands $11.99 stuffed sole lunch portion which was so small I really felt bad for him! Literally smaller than my fist and with a side of broccoli - also a whole 4 pieces! His meal didn't come with soup or salad, either! We waited over 20 minutes for biscuits - they didn't arrive until we were half way through our entree. I don't know why we keep coming back... The commercials look so good... but when we go it is always disappointing and overpriced at that! We ended up with a tab of over $60 before tax and tip and hubby left hungry. I hope I learned my lesson this time and I wont be suckered in by another taunting bait and switch commercial! read more

After hearing all this hype about the chain, it was finally time to give this place a try. Parking is available out front in large parking lot. The place wasn't as classy as I thought it would be. I'd put it in the same bin as Red Robin, or ABC. The interior looks like a family restaurant for sure, with some "nautical" decor such as flags. There is a lobster tank by the entrance foyer (think of a Chinese seafood restaurant, but much more empty) as well. The waitress was very friendly (almost a bit *too* friendly) but was very helpful, and anticipated what we needed quite nicely. So why 2 stars? Food quality and value. Read on, and count the number of times "butter" gets mentioned. Butter biscuits (free) - nice and fluffy. PEI mussels ($11). Actually quite good, but I had to question the freshness of the food, as several of them were dead before cooking. Also this thing is cooked in a lake of oil. Definitely not HeartSmart. Garlic bread - looks like mini-pieces of the bread you eat as a kid, coated in.. butter. Ultimate Feast ($29) - consists of 1 lobster tail (what do they do with the front half?), half a crab, and 2 types of shrimp (battered, and buttered) This meal was unfortunately not a good deal at all. The lobster was good, but the specimen selected was obviously not fully grown. The amount of meat in the lobster would be equivalent to 2 hot dog weiners. The battered shrimp had the right amount of batter, but were way too salty. No need to explain how the shrimp in batter tasted, just use your imagination. Lastly, the snow crab were soggy, to the point I actually had trouble breaking open the shells. And for some reason, the rice pilaf was drenched in.. you guessed it. And the dish came with 2 dipping trays - one of seafood sauce, and the other one of.. melted butter. I think I am going to have a heart attack. Seriously. Poor cows. read more

My last visit was more than 10 years ago so it was time for a visit. The inside has been renovated since then so that's a good thing. But I noticed they use the roller vacuum to pick up the crumbs and other food left on the carpet, that could be from 10 years ago. When I looked around the carpet, there seems to be a lot of food on it, somehow missing customers' mouth. The server was friendly and efficient for a busy start to the evening rush. The cheese biscuits weren't as savoury and delicious as I hoped for. They were a little too salty for my liking so it's a good thing I only had one. For my side, I had the caesar salad with dressing on the side to it wouldn't be coated on the lettuce. Great amount of lettuce, croutons, and cheese and great start to my meal. It wasn't a long wait for the entrees to come. I picked 2 items and a side for $21 and choose the stuffed sole, coconut shrimp, and baked potato with sour cream and butter on the side. The coconut shrimp came with a sweet pineapple and coconut dipping sauce which I found too sweet. I found the shrimp tasty enough and no sauce needed. The sole was ok with broccoli, rice, and cheese but I liked the shrimp better. The seating wasn't great as it can be cramped. My chair touched the one behind me and there was enough space where I wasn't against the table but it wasn't very comfortable. I've never experienced someone being so on the ball, and one step ahead of us, brought us a container for our meals as she noticed we were "slowing down" while eating, she was absolutely amazing and made sure we were satisfied with our meals !! We went there for my daughter's birthday. Restaurants are always a crapshoot due to her food allergy. However, Jimmy, a manager was fabulous! He stayed longer than required to ensure that the birthday girl enjoyed her meal, she loves the escargot, and that she did not have an allergic reaction to any of her food. Jimmy my went above and beyond by preparing her food and ensuring that there was no cross contamination. My last pre-pandemic visit to this branch of the Red Lobster didn't prompt me to write a review so it must have been just OK years ago. Our party of four went for dinner this weekend to Red Lobster. My wife enjoyed her lobster and our friend liked their choices (shrimp linguini, admiral's platter, tempura calamari) but my meal was a disaster. My kung pao shrimp arrived sans shrimp, kind of an omission don't you think? Red lobster made good and were prepared to bring a whole new plate of noodles and shrimp, which I advised only required shrimp as per the menu. When the shrimp arrived, they were niceshrimp but oversalted. In fact, everything was oversalted including the soda bread buns served as a side. Soda bread should be made with a small amount of slt because the soda sed to raise the bread breaks down into salt and carbon dioxide to raise the bread during baking. This is not a go-to eatery for anyone on a sodium reduced diet. Other notes: Portions are huge. Two of us had to take home leftovers. Staff are friendly and attentive. Three of us enjoyed themselves so I can't give Red Lobster the worst rating. read more

A group of us came here to celebrate another birthday in the family, and this place did not disappoint. Our server Medi was a pleasure being catered by from start to finish. The food was all in all really good, it was brought to us timely, and there's hardly much else I can say about it! I'm not much of a seafood guy myself, but they have something for everyone and my family insisted that the crab legs and lobster here are top notch. This place can get pretty busy during their peak hours around the 7 mark, so be mindful of that if you're planning on coming here. I have glorious memories of coming to this Red Lobster with my parents and LOVING the biscuits, the atmosphere, and the seafood. Ah, the innocence of youth, and the kindness that time gives memories. Or maybe I've simply grown up and realized what good food is. You won't find it at Red Lobster. The biscuits were dry and served without butter. The lobster bisque was salted twice as much as it needed. The size of the lobster tail (see the photo I'm about to add) was laughable. The scallops were old and icky (I tasted one and left the rest on the plate), and were served in a bake that once again was over-salted. The broccoli was, get this, undercooked -- who has ever eaten undercooked broccoli in a restaurant? A first for me. Plus, the waitress asked my husband and I, "How are we this evening?". Dinner last night was fabulous. Yet another restaurant I like, but rarely frequent. I think I might be coming more often. I had the Seafood Feast for about $30. A tad pricey perhaps, but I feel I'm getting a better value than say, that pub on Jasper Avenue that has a once a month lobster special. The pub on Jasper charges $20 for their lobster special. I used to think that was a great deal. Twenty bucks gets you a whole lobster, cold, over-seasoned inedible baby potatos, frozen veggies that have been on the steam table all day, and a store bought bun. I didn't mind. I was still getting an entire lobster for $20. Then I came to Red Lobster for the first time in ages, and I feel differently now. For ten dollars more, and ANY day of the month, I can have...A lobster tail, two kinds of shrimp, crab legs, creamy and buttery mashed potatos, a generous salad and free hot biscuits. Oh yeah, my husband ate something too, but I was too busy stuffing my gob to notice.I think he had the clam chowder and stuffed mushrooms and liked it, or some junk. Anyway, I really like the place, and I haven't been disappointed yet. I think I'll continue to come here to satisfy my lobster/shrimp/mashed potato/caeser salad cravings. read more
