There was 8 of us in our party. We got there just a bit before our reservation and our table was ready. Server came quickly to greet us and take our drink orders. He waited for the last 2 ppl in our party to arrive before explaining how their system for meat works. I wasn't a fan of any of the side salads options. I tried a few but honestly I wasn't there to have salad. It was the experience and the different meat options. Their fresh buns were a hit though. Overall, all of us and 2 kids were very happy with our meals. The pineapple that came around was a huge hit!! I can't pick a favourite meat as they were all amazing. Okay so admittedly I am not the hugest meat lover so take that for what it is. We recently visited for my husband's birthday with friends, I'd never been to this particular location but assumed it would be similar to the Ellerslie location. In my opinion it's not. The restaurant itself feels super tight and considering how many people are up and walking around at any given time almost claustrophobic. I was initially hoping to just so with the salad bar option and forgo the meat but when the question wasn't even asked I decided to just try the odd meat item but still lean heavy on the salad bar. Compared to what I remembered about the other location this salad bar seemed to be much more of a disappointing experience. The food itself was good but overall there seemed to be a bunch of dishes that didn't appeal to me. The food was really good. There's no debating that and the grilled pineapple is to die for, same with the cheese buns. But overall it just seems to be very expensive for what you do get. It's definitely not my top tier restaurant choice and I might not return to this particular location. read more

Everything went well from the beginning Front hostess was very warm and inviting.Being handicapped she let me sit close to the food so I didn't have to go to far.My server was very nice and a constant smile on her face.The gentleman bringing the meat were one after another never once did I wait.My question for a takeout order was answered by the manager who was very personable and professional The food was fantastic not to salty my favourite was the parm/pork. i'm not big on crowds so I asked to sit on the other side that was empty and they let me I look around and there's a lot of nice artwork on the walls and the music just makes you think of Brazil happy times a little escape from reality I'd recommend this place to anybody and everybody keep up the good work, Pampa west read more

Id rather sell my cat for a dollar then come here. Its 65$ per person!! Bill was 272$. I wouldnt even tell a homeless person who hasnt eaten in weeks to go for free. When we got in, we were the only ones waiting to be seated. (We had a reservation) The manager saw us and kept doing things on computer. We waited 15 mins. She answered the phone. And continued to be on the computer without a word to us . When she finally felt like talking to us, we got to table. We tried l13 different cuts of meats. Most of the meats were fatty and over seasoned. There was a small salad bar . Tons of different guys came by to slice meat. The flavors were not good. Meats were average if that. I didnt like anything. The caramel cheesecake was alright. My husband and dad liked it. Coffee after food tasted like piss water with no coffee. It was the most disgusting "coffee" i ever had..mostly hot water. I wanted to gag on the coffee we got. For an expensive restaurant, all of this was just disgusting and disappointing. Use to be much better. Went there recently and the service has deteriorated. I was with a big group. On purpose they bring in chicken and ham/bacon products first so that people get full. They bring in the beef sirloin and other better meats later, give the thinnest of slices, and leave without serving everyone. The server was pushing to take away our plates so we don't eat more. Its bit of a scam now! I have been to many Brazilian steak houses before, this was the worst experience! Not recommended. Personal faves include the Parmesan pork and garlic steak. And the little cheese buns are to DIE for. Be sure to watch fit when they come out ooey gooey fresh! The salad bar had endless choose your own adventure options and Pampa's carries an array of Evoolution oils and balsamics for salad heaven. Service is always great no matter which Pampa's we visit. Happy hour rodizio is the most affordable option with unlimited salad bar and 3 gaucho tableside served meats at $17.99. Lunch offerings very from $16.99 (salad bar only) to full rodizio at $27.99. Dinner will run you $52.99/adult. You can save 20% by purchasing $50 x 2 gift cards at Costco for $80 instead of $100. If you've got a carnivore in your life, treat them to this meatarrific gem! Absolutely not a Service Dog friendly restaurant. We were refused service even when we explained the law. I continued to insist, and the manager finally seated us. Our certified Service Dogs were 100% quiet, out of sight, and obedient. The wait staff had no problems with our dogs. Sadly, on top of being refused by the manager, even after she saw how behaved out Service Dogs were, she did not apologize or make any act of Good Will. We emailed the general manager, and he never responded to our terrible treatment by the onsite manager. We arrived at 16:00, there were over 15 empty tables when we walked in and they did not fill up by the time we left. We will not go back unless we arrive with a crew of Vets and their Service Dogs. An amazing experience. Delicious buffet style side dishes of all sorts and delicious meats served in a roundabout style, cut portion sized at the table. Only thing is the cook may be hard to come by. Seemed to get a lot of med to med-well pieces; however, still very tender and VERY flavourful pieces. Service was fast and super friendly. Not the coziest seating but comfortable and tables are well spaced so did not feel crowded. The only downside if one is it is quite pricy. We spent $200 between the 2 of us including tip and we each had an alcoholic drink. Not the place to eat on a budget but definitely worth the experience. Will definitely go again. read more

I'm giving them 5 stars for the ingenuity taken to offer a Ready to Grill BBQ kit!! If you're a griller like me you will love this! It was fantastic! However I have a few suggestions! I think a pork tenderloin would be better then the pork loin cut, tossing it in parmesan was so good however! The broccoli salad was absolutely delish but a bit more dressing would have made it that much better. The beef tenderloin was nice but the bacon wrapped filet mignon was to die for! Unfortunately I expected a more tender cut from the tenderloin. Regardless we really enjoyed the meal and felt the value for the amount of food was justified. We can't wait to be able to dine in and enjoy the experience they bring to the table! read more

So I went to this west end location and it was my first time going to Pampa. What an experience to be had. The food is absolutely divine, I'm a meat eater and I was not remotely disappointed. The flavour every piece of meat had, the tenderness, the vast selection they had it all. The company was excellent of course it made they experience much more pleasurable. The staff were professional and pleasant plus accommodating. You might think it's expensive but when you take in their salad bar and get a chance to savour 14 different types of meats and can eat as much as you want they price speaks for itself trust me. But if all of that wasn't enough the highlight of my night was when I headed to the bathroom. The way they tell you it's a women's washroom is comical. So the woman on the door is a work of art with a Pregnant look but with Torpedo Boobs. When you go be open and relax and have fun. read more

We saw this new West location pop up and decided to give it a shot. We have been to the other Pampas in the past but Ellerslie is on the other side of town and parking is a hassle at the downtown spot so this one is convenient from that perspective. If you've been to Pampa before then you know what to expect here...a salad bar with an endless rotation of meats served table-side. The new location seems consistent with the others in terms of the items offered. Everything was fresh in the salad bar and looking/tasting like it was made in-house. As for the meat I don't know if it was just a lucky day but they absolutely nailed the cook on all their items...the best we have had from any Pampa location. The meats were all a perfect medium to medium rare, the bacon wrapped chicken was moist yet crispy on the outside, sausages were moist with a bit of a crisp on the skin, etc. Nothing was dry. The servers always seemed to carve fresh cuts as well with the seared exterior on them...great flavour. As for the downside it's not exclusive to this location but it's the price. Dinner is now $53 a person which is already pricey but after seating we were informed there is an additional upgrade option as well. You get 1 desert plus boar, pineapple, and shrimp added into the serving rotation for a whopping $25 more! Also they won't let you do it unless everyone at the table gets it so they can prevent "sharing". Jumping up to $80 a person after tax seems crazy for just those few extras, especially since they aren't really "premium" items and have been on their regular seasonal menus in the past. It's probably worth pointing out that shrimp and pineapple are offered at the "other" Brazilian bbq place in town on the regular menu for a much cheaper price. Don't get too greedy Pampa! Overall it's obviously not somewhere I would visit often but if they can maintain the quality then it's probably worth the price for the occasional meat indulgence. That "upgrade" price tho?...that's borderline insulting. read more

Went here for a Friday night dinner. Place got decently busy as we approached dinner time - so it was lively. I was about 50/50 on the meats that they had that night. All the beef is good - especially the beef garlic steak - but I could really take it or leave it for the other meats. The salad bar can only really be described as meh. The tapioca cheese bread - on the other hand - is so good that I wanted to line my jacket with it and take it with me (both as a snack for later and since it was -40 and the insulation would have helped). Bang for buck - I was underwhelmed. There are a handful of restaurants in Edmonton which cater to a similar demographic of meat lovers at a much lower price point. Also, the price point would suggest that this is higher-end dining - and in my opinion - it is not. Looking around - people were wearing whatever - blazers, suits, jeans, ballcaps, loafers, sneakers, etc. That's not a knock to anyone - I actually prefer to dine in comfort and not dressed to the nines - just an observation of comparable ambiance/atmosphere in like-priced restaurants. The absolute biggest rip yet, I ordered the Grilled Meat Skewers for The Family.... 14.95 sounds good, go to checkout , you get NOTHING for 14.95 you need to order meat with that , so for 14.95 you don't get a mint, nothing .so I added Beef rib eye ,so now I'm at 42.95 , asked for cutlery , received the very cheap plastic variety , got back to my room and found out that All I got was three overrated pieces of shoe leather that the plastic cutlery was never going to cut, ate what I could like a caveman , with my hands , and threw at least 2/3 of the garbage away ... save your money, go to an ALBERTA style steakhouse , now I need to go out again to get something to eat ,what a waste of money . the brazilian soda was good tho :) read more

I really like this place. I started going for lunches after they introduced a lunch club deal where you pay $25 and get 10 tickets that let you have lunch for $14 until end of April. First thing you notice about it is how professional the staff is. Very friendly and helpful. You order your drinks and then grab a plate,collect some secondary dishes from the cold and hot buffet area . Then come back to your table and turn the little 'bring me meat !" paper disc up into the green position and a server dressed in Brazillian garb will come to the table at regular intervals offering to cut you off slices a few types of roast , chicken leg,sausage and parmesan pork. After you are full you turn the disc down. The meat itself is delicious.Beef is mostly cooked medium-rare,very juicy and tender. The cold salad bar is decent and they have 3 types of bread with different types of vinegar and dressings. They have rice,potatoes,chile,veggies and lasagne as well. 2 types of gravy for meat are available.A regular brown and a wonderful reddish barbecue flavoured one. They have a couple of soups as well. I only had 1 dessert,a nice caramel cheesecake . The atmosphere in the restaurant is pleasant with what i assume was Brazilian guitar music playing throughout. The dinner menu includes more choices of meat than the lunch menu. Haven't been there for that. read more

Was looking to get some good alberta beef on a monday and all the steak houses were closed obvioslusly so thought why not try all the beef I can eat Rodizio style. The wifey and I tied the full rodizio because I had to try the bacon wrapped fillet and rib eye. In my opinion you can go without those and just go for the half rodizio. The rump steak and the parmesan pork I would have been happy with just those. The bar had good selection and they had the classic cheese bread. I must have at 10 of those. The green chimmichurri was tangy and herby and complimented all the meat. Everything else was pretty standard ie olives, grilled vegetables, soups. We were bombarded with meat and I really was pretty overwhelmed which I think is the point of places like these. Only thing is I wish they brought the grilled pineapple with the meat because I like how they teste together. It was pretty cool that they dust the pineapple with cinnamon that something ive never seen before. So if you want the meat sweats this place will do the trick! read more

Let me sum it up this way: best lunch date of my life! We happen to hit a day of special prices, so it was just under $20 which seemed like a steal for the experience. This was my first visit to a Pampa and I could not have been more impressed. Walking in, the setting was lovely - tables for four nicely spaced with crisp white linen napkins. As the restaurant slowly filled, I noticed people were never seated right next to anyone else, allowing conversations to be private and the room was never noisy. There are two side rooms which looked great for private parties as well. We were greeted immediately and, as a newbie, they kindly explained how everything worked, and we visited the salad bar, which was pretty extensive and attractively displayed. Then, once seated again at our table, the meat servers started visiting. Ohhhhh my, what delicious meats they were! My favourites were the garlic steak and rump roast, but there were at least seven other (including pork and chicken and chorizo) and you could choose any and all. I loved that the red meats could accommodate someone who wanted rare or well-done, all juicy and with a great crust. Every single server approached with a smile, cut exactly what you wanted, and seemed completely happy to help you, a touch I treasure because it's sadly so rare most places. We were constantly checked to see if everything was going well, water was replenished probably a half-dozen times, and all together I could not have asked for anything more. Ok, hands down this is probably the best restaurant we have had the pleasure of dining in the last few years. My wife and I were comparing it (as the meal progressed) to some of the finer European restaurants we particularly enjoyed while traveling abroad. The favors and the spice balance were exquisite. We dined at very high end restaurant in Calgary last week, and a "top 10" restaurant last night in Edmonton, and they both finished a very distant second and third to the experience at Pampa's tonight. After about 1.5 hours into the Pampa's meal, we had to stop the frequent delivery to our table of sirloin, prime rib, ribeye, ham, chicken, lamb, sausage, and ham to our table. Then somehow we found room for 2 of their incredible deserts, and a liqueur aperitif poured into a glass by our waiter who poured it standing on a stepping stool at our table ( about a metre height off at our table. No kidding! Not a drop spilt - which was almost like a magician's trick... This is by no means a dress-up restaurant. The self-serve salad+ buffet is first, followed by the above-mentioned meats delivered in large sections and then carved to your specs by waiter-chefs at your table. Our waiter mentioned that there is a Pampa's restaurant in Calgary - can't wait to try it when we get back home. read more

I've been to the other two Pampa locations but this time I went for brunch instead of dinner. The location is very convenient with ample parking which is a big plus. Inside this location is very similar to the set up of the other restaurants. The brunch buffet bar had a wide selection of hot and cold food items which I've always appreciated about Pampa. The garlic steak, rump steak, lamb and sirloin were my favorite cuts of meat. Along with the sweet, grilled pineapple. There is no doubt that the meat and other food is delicious. There were three of us in attendance and I was quite surprised that this location, for brunch, already put a 20% gratuity on my bill. I'm not sure if they do this at all locations but adding gratuity for three people, for brunch was actually ridiculous to me. I also had two 20% brunch coupons that a friend had given to me which could only be used during the month of March and only for Sunday brunch. I was actually quite turned off that despite having these coupons, I was still charged an automatic 20% gratuity on my bill for three people. I like the food, location and the selection but I don't like it enough to come back to Pampa. read more
