I have been going to Astros for 40 years. I always loved the veal cutlets. They were always exceptional. This time they were soggy, undercooked and stringy. They no longer come with a veggie which was disappointing. We were there at 12:30 for lunch, and they had already run out of baked potatoes. We really wanted a baked potato. Here is the SHOCKER... while we were dining, my husband saw the waitress( one of the owners) eat off of customers plates twice, before she delivered their meals. He did not tell me, until we left, because I would not have left quietly. This is unacceptable. We will never be back to Astros. read more

Ordered through SKIP, large beef, onion and mushroom pizza, arrived early, and was so looking forward to a great meal... they were heartily recommended. The outer 2" of the pizza were so overcooked .. read WELL DONE .... they were inedible. So bit of a pickle here... wait another hour or more and order another... or make the best of it. We chose the latter... and called the restaurant. No apologies were offered... they basically blew us off and told us to deal with SKIP. Like are you actually kidding me??? I don't believe SKIP cooked that pizza... and I'm sure if you'd put that on a table ... it would have been sent back. Will never be ordering... or recommending this establishment ... sorry ASTRO 'S an apology would have fixed this. read more

Had dinner Astros restaurant on St. Patrick's Day, March 17, 2023, with my wife. The service was excellent, especially, considering how busy it was. I had the liver and onions with a baked potato and coleslaw. The meal was superb. The best liver and onions meal I've had, not just while I've been in Edmonton (12 years), but that I can recall. Very few restaurants prepare it well, and very few restaurants still have it on the menu. I highly recommend this restaurant. read more

After googling pizza places and seeing great reviews I tried looking all over the net for a menu to no avail. I called to ask if there was one and a really friendly guy said no but offered to email it. We decided to preorder 2 large pizzas to take to a dinner and we very impressed with the service! The guy was nice and had our food ready as promised. Moreso the pizza aroma had our mouths watering all the way to the dinner ... this pizza was really delish! Old school steakhouse style with lots of cheese, tasty toppings and thicker dough. They really should advertise as this place is one to try for excellent service and great tasting food! read more

This is hands-down my favourite restaurant in the city. My family comes here for almost any occasion (birthdays, anniversaries, etc). Their food is really good. A few of my favourites are the house special (steak and pasta), lasagna and their pizza. This is a family run restaurant, and the service/hospitality is always great. The owners truly get to know every regular they encounter. They also care about the safety of their guests and have implemented COVID protocols. Love this restaurant - if you're debating, just go! We had date night there, this evening. We had the Astros special pizza and fish and chips. The coleslaw was fabulous. Normally a nondescript plate filler but not here. It was freshly shaved with plenty of carrots and they give a generous helping. I would come back just for the coleslaw. The service was attentive and welcoming. Everything was delicious. I have never had steak pizza before so this was the first time I tried it. I wasn't disappointed. One thing I didn't like was that they would not allow me to adjust the toppings on the pizza's. The pizza is a bit pricey but I thought the steak pizza was quite worth it. Everyone here was so nice and it felt like the staff knew everyone. I am guessing they have a lot of regulars which can only mean good things. I would go back for sure. read more

I've been going here since I was in a high chair with my family and my grandparents. I just went here after not going for about 6-8 years. Alot of good memories were made here and the service is phenomenal. It's one of those family restaurants that''s cozy and homey and not very well known. Their baked lasagne with meat sauce is the BOMB. Their Greek dishes and fish and chips are also great. It's reasonably priced and not overly busy. :) read more

Very good pizza, best I've ever had. I've never tried to substitute but they do allow you to add toppings. I'm also severely lactose intolerant and they allow me to bring in soy cheese for my pizza. I love the Greek ribs. They aren't the typical sloppy BBQ sauce ribs that you get in other places. It's a dry lemon pepper topping. The staff is mostly family and you will feel like you are in their family when you go there. read more

Astros is one of those family restaurants with an established clientele that rarely, if ever, changes its menu. It is known in particular for steak and pizza. I have had both, and they are fantastic. I typically have the vegetarian pizza, which has a thick crust and is loaded with toppings. Astros does not allow substitutions on pizza toppings, so that limits things somewhat, but there are enough combinations to allow for most tastes. The steaks are prepared to order and taste great, with very lean meat. Other menu items include hearty old-fashioned favourites like chopped steak, liver and onions, hot turkey, beef, and hamburger sandwiches, fish and chips (with the fish pieces in the shapes of triangles, just like the boxed pieces), and a few pastas. The french fries are the thick, beefsteak variety, and other sides include coleslaw and baked potato. The food here is not cheap or fancy, but typically the potions are decent and the quality excellent. read more

This is place is great. And u can tell that by the many regular customers that come here. Their chicken souvlaki is amazing and their lemon potatoes addicting! And pita and their garlicky tzatziki. Had dinner on Sat. night and can say only one of 4 was impressed. The liver is very good but yes, the pizza is overpriced for what you get, the steak had no veggies to accompany it for the price of $27 - only a slice of tomato (??) and the daily special of greek back ribs was a waste of money. For what the meals cost, one can do much better elsewhere. read more
