I came to this what I assumed was as just a coffee shop for a great coffee and cookie only to find out it has a dual personality- coffee shop in day and cocktail bar at night! How cool is that? In fact the name means Drunk Ox Sober Cat - now you are in the know! The coffee side of DOSC is great! The coffee and cookie were delicious- adding spice to a chocolate chip cookie was a great touch! The seating was comfortable. I will say when we went it was so sunny it would have been nice to have blinds on the windows to pull down. The service was fantastic. The person at the counter was wonderful at explaining the difference between a wet and dry cappuccino- something I have never known. (It's the difference between how much foam you get.) I can't wait to come back in the evening and check out the fun cocktails for drunk ox side of things!

Absolutely fantastic! Went in for the first time and really enjoyed the menu for Downtown Dining week. Booked a reservation and was seated promptly when we arrived on time. The wait time to place our first order was a bit on long, but our server was very nice and constantly checked on us throughout our courses afterwards. They also explained the aspect of each course so it was more enjoyable to eat our meals, knowing what went into them! We started off with their All Inclusive from their Sober Cat menu, and it's something that we'd definitely order again when we go back! Ordered bone marrow (very melt-in-your-mouth), their DOSC ceasar salad (great flavour and crunch), 8 oz Smoked Juniper and Coffee Rubbed Flat Iron (a bit tough of a cut but enjoyed the deeper flavour it gave) and Rigatoni a la Vodka (had a pleasant kick of heat that we didn't expect but really enjoyed). Ended things off with their Chocolate Pave that was very rich and decadent, but we couldn't finish it as we were full from the previous courses. Loved it! Would visit again!

Such a cute spot for brunch in downtown Edmonton! Served from 10am-245pm. Really appreciate the gluten free and vegetarian options. The outdoor patio is quite lovely as well. I had the avocado benny ($21) and it was quite delicious and filling. The eggs were poached perfectly served on top of a fluffy cruffle and the hash browns were crispy. Service was good as well - just had to pay inside the restaurant as the machines don't reach outside.

Brisket Benedict's, Brussel sprouts, and grilled cheese with tomato soup

This spot it located in the heart of Edmonton. I didn't see a designated parking lot but there is metered street parking along the street. The restaurant has a small cafe located in it and a somewhat open kitchen style. The service was quick and everyone was friendly. The food was pretty good! I loved the Brussel sprouts! They were so crispy and flavorful. The brisket Benedict's was perfectly executed. The egg was poached with a runny yolk. The waffle as a base was a great change up from an English muffin. I loved that it was crunchy and not soggy. The grilled cheese was crispy and buttery. The soup was very hearty and filling.

I finally tried out DOSC after hearing about it for so many years. In terms of food, I opted for their Brisket Benny instead of the steaks that they're more known for. The benny was decent but didn't stand out...so I'd give it 7.8/10

Rib Eye, garlic mashed potatoes and a Cab Sauv. Very limited wine list TBH.

Large space with a comfortable and welcoming interior. Staff greeted us warmly and we sat at the bar for dinner. Steaks were very good, although thinly cut. Sides were high quality. Bar service was really friendly and fun. Drinks were locally sourced and promoted which is cool. DOSC has a youthful exuberance, and that can be just what you need sometimes. Wine list could be more extensive though.

We ordered 10 ounce rib eye steaks. They were $40. Wanted mushroom bourbon $7, wanted a side salad $7. We got a steak with a loonie size of jalapenos on the plate. The steak was already cut up, the steak was thin. It was okay, the mushroom bourbon was salty, the side salad had jalapenos in it. Over all it was meh. I could have had a bettet steak at a plethora of other steak restauarants that have better cuts, flavor and accompaniments. Very disappointing and no I wont be back. The only thing I give 5 Shawnas for was the bidet. I never wanted to leave and my girl got a wash and blow dry for free!

DOSC, it's in downtown. Street parking. Inside is big, open and airy. I've been a few times. I would suggest a reservation no matter when you go, even if there's almost no one there when you arrive, I've always been asked if I reserved. All the food I've had here has been delicious and beautifully presented. I continue to go back for rib eye and red wine and then order vegetable dishes because it seems wrong to just have beef and wine.... Service is professional and attentive.

My only regret going to Edmonton is that I didn't see any cows. However, that didn't stop me from eating some, and DOSC was the best introduction to the Albertan beef culinary scene I could've hoped for. Located right in downtown Edmonton, DOSC has got that classy but unpretentious vibe that I really dig. Beautiful open space with rustic furniture, wood beam ceilings, slightly steampunk feels. I love it. Fantastic place to grab a craft cocktail or a great steak, which is exactly what I did. Visiting from Toronto, I cannot get over how much steak I can get for my money. A beautiful 10 oz dry-aged ribeye for $42...that's better value than the Keg! And obviously so much tastier. The juicy steak was perfectly medium rare, sitting on a fluffy cushion of garlicky pomme puree. Also go the Oxtail Poutine which was great with fresh fries and savoury oxtail meat but the real star of the show was the Brussel Sprouts. The large size was big enough to share between 4 and the sprouts were perfectly crispy, a little citrusy and a little sweet. We added pancetta to it and it was absolute perfection. Great recommendation from our server, who was also superb! If you're looking for a great place for a date, or just craving some good meat, DOSC is the place to go!

I had the Puttanesca and I added grilled chicken. It was just alright. I had a try of the strip loin 104 and the sauce was good but pretty heavy. Their fries are good, garlicky with parm. Our server was friendly but seemed a bit peeved at us towards the end (not sure why?). It's a cool vibe with nice decor, and I'd come back to visit the cafe - but the food isn't going to draw me back.

What happened to the service and food here? Came here today for Mothers Day. We're seated at the cafe side bar table as reservations were fully booked until 2pm. That's fine. Had to flag down someone after 10 min to take our order as none of the 3-4 staff members working the cafe were attentive other than pouring water upon arrival. No apple juice for kiddos since the bar doesn't use it for any cocktails. Ordered "fresh squeezed" OJ instead which was a huge disappointment. Their idea of "fresh squeezed" tasted like pulp less concentrated OJ and served in a short highball glass full of ice (last several times we were here and ordered the Oj it was actually fresh, sweet, with bits of pulp and served in a tall glass with no ice). Needless to say when we inquired about the quality all we got back we're defensive answers that it certainly is fresh squeezed. Hubs and I both ordered avocado toast which was lovely but doesn't come with sides so we shared an order of hashbrowns as well. Avocado toast was good but hashbrowns did not taste fresh like previous times and had a stale taste so we didn't finish them. Note that they don't serve any breakfast sandwiches like before. Finally, ordered a slice of carrot cake and had specifically asked for a piece from the new cake that was just added to the display. But of course I watched as I was served the last piece of cake that had been sitting in the display since the precious day (albeit covered with a glass dome) but nonetheless was hard as can imagine - it was not finished. One of the baristas behind the counter asked how our cake was and I told them it was dry - to which she just said "oh sorry", nervously laughed and walked away. Wow! My husband and I literally laughed at how comical the terrible service was. Needless to say we won't be back even though we live nearby and used to venture here regularly. Oh and as a cherry on top, not one person who worked there even bothered to wish a Happy Mother's Day. Perhaps my expectations are too high. But sad.

5 of us came for brunch Sunday before an event at rogers place and LOVED all of it! Great food, creative menu, tasty cocktails, and awesome service! The atmosphere is fun and relaxed too and such a fun place in general! They are also on the yeg coffee pass and have delicious drinks! This place does it all and I only with I loved closer to it! If I'm downtown- this is where I'm going for coffee, cocktails, food and great places to relax, meet or impress!

I liked it, It made it more intimanite. Menu varies depending on the season. But I am sure that everyone will find something they would like. We chose a few things raw elk with fried capers, shallots & blueberries, the seared scallops with celeriac puree, capers, garlic and butter, saskatoon berry brisket with beef and carmelized onion on bannock, and the pappardelle rabbit ragu with parmigian reggiano . We also took two cockails which was delicous. Service was prompt and friendly. Food was delicious. The stand out was the raw elk. Delicous combination of thing that do a party in you mouth. I would go back just for that . The only thing that I didn't enjoy was the brisket. Way too sweet for me. Be warned it is pricey. Expect to empty your pocket book.

Searching for someplace to go for a girls night out on the town? Look no further than Dolly's…read moreCocktail Bar! Slap on your sparkly dress and a pair of heels (or wear whatever the heck you want) and make your way to Downtown's pink palace! You'll remember this location as the former home of Fu's Repair Shop and Prairie Fish & Chips before that. The Edmonton Food Faves We Crave 2024 list named Dolly's as Favourite Patio and the pictures that I've seen of the back terrace look completely adorable, complete with colourful lanterns. Unfortunately, my visit was in October and it wasn't quite patio weather anymore. I turned up on a Friday evening with one of my best girlfriends in tow and we were ready for the biggest Barbiecore night of our lives! Imagine our surprise when we discovered that Dolly's had been transformed into the "Black Lagoon" for the month of October in the spirit of Halloween. (I probably should have looked into this in advance but I was unaware!) I was expecting Cyndi Lauper and Aqua but instead I got Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson. The whole restaurant was draped in the most spider webs that I've ever seen. There were giant spiders hanging from the ceiling and spooky skeletons in every corner. It was a vibe, that's for sure!! But certainly not the one that I had been anticipating. Bits of pink paint and sparkly chandeliers peeked through in some areas and the neon "Dolly's" sign on the wall allowed me to imagine what the Barbie dreamhouse-esque space normally looks like just a little bit. Otherwise, Dolly's was fully transformed into the moody Black Lagoon. I should've worn fishnets instead of glitter. The servers were all very friendly and we were quickly seated at a comfortable table along the hot pink velour banquette. Dolly's invites you to sip, snack, and stay in their minor-free glamorous escape. The house cocktails and mocktails are a major part of the experience (it is a cocktail bar after all) and I was excited to get a cute pink beverage into my hand! There was also a menu of Black Lagoon-themed cocktails that were all served in fun tiki-style vessels. This menu included themed foods as well. I personally had my eye on the Pink Palace Royale cocktail which I saw on the menu online. Made with a special collab gin with Strathcona Spirits and Licor 43 (one of my favourite liqueurs), this sounded like everything that I wanted in a cocktail and more! Other drinks had names like Dolly's Dreamhouse, Bubbilicious, and the house shot was called the Bend & Snap - exactly the sort of drinks that I had come for! However, I was sorely disappointed when the server told me that the drink I wanted was no longer on the menu. It seemed that I could only order a Halloween beverage. I fumbled to find anything that Elle Woods would approve of and settled on a mocktail called Pretty in Pink (Strawberry, cream of coconut, lime, soda, mint - $9.00) and the server suggested that the bar could add vanilla vodka to turn it into a proper cocktail. I agreed. Honestly, I was just relieved to get something pink onto the table! I enjoyed this icy-fresh cocktail a lot and it delivered most of what I had been hoping for. The sweetness of the strawberry and coconut was really fun! The lime and mint added a mojito flair. A very cute and well-composed beverage but I was sad that most of the girly drinks didn't seem to be available. When it comes to eats at Dolly's the food is what you would expect to see at a party, with the idea of sharing at the heart. I loved the idea of Dolly's Funhouse (which is an epic plate of nachos), and dishes like wings, tacos, and mac & cheese. However, the dish to order at Dolly's has gotta be the Girl Dinner (Truffle tots, chickie tendies, aji verde, aji rocoto, pineapple sweet & sour, Dolly's salad - $50.00 for two). It's a must-share so grab your girlies and prepare to chow down! They had me at tots. The Girl Dinner platter arrived looking extremely appetizing and somehow exactly what I wanted to be eating in a place that looked like this. The portion was exactly right for two people and I loved the pretty floral printed plates that we were given to dish our tots and tendies onto. As previously mentioned, I enjoy a tot. (I have a suspicion that Napoleon Dynamite really imprinted on me.) But truffle tots? Now that's just a home run! Topped with sea salt, truffle oil, and parmesan cheese, these golden potato nuggets were fried to perfection with a crispy outside and a soft and fluffy inside. I could have eaten them all. They were awesome to dunk into each of the sauces and when the rest of the food was gone we were still popping tots into our mouths. We couldn't even finish them all because the portion was so generous! The star of the meal were the chickie tendies; two giant chicken tenders, of which we each got our own. I loved this chicken! The batter was really flavourful and unique, and oh so crispy-crunchy. The chicken within was very tender and juicy, proving that an elevated chicke
