Bar Bricco is a fantastic restaurant and was our favorite meal of our trip to Edmonton. We ate at the bar (which is always our favorite) and our service was good. We had a gin cocktail and a nice glass of wine and had broccoli Romanesco for an appetizer. The broccoli was charred perfectly and was extremely flavorful and delicious. I had the pappardelle with a meat sauce and that was very tasty, but the star of the meal was my wife's egg yolk raviolo, which is one of the best meals she's ever had in her life. This is a great restaurant and we highly recommend coming here for a great meal.

Delicious tapas italian style dining. Hip atmosphere. Bar bricco doesn't need any introduction. It is the more bar type restaurant featuring smaller plates for sharing than its sister Corso 32. Everything I tried here was rich and buttery. Sage butter is one of the main ingredients. And is highlighted in most of their signature dishes like their egg yolk raviolo, egg moliterno or even the fennel salad! Most of the dishes come with bread to eat it with. And by the end of the night I was in carb overload. I'd say get the formaggi and salumi tasting plates to share as they are very good portions and are so tasty with their large assortment of wines. The Carne crudo was my favourite dish. The egg yolk raviolo was too rich for me and was surprisingly filling. A nice night out with the girls or a casual date. This place is great for some great food and wine. And can be quite affordable if you stick to food only. The atmosphere is nice because it's loud enough that you don't hear other people's conversations beside you like at corso. The bar stools are slightly uncomfortable but it's not a place you linger for long anyways. Service was good but I didn't like the upsell for drinks when I stately clearly I was driving and one would be enough. I would also come before 6pm or after 8pm if you want to snag a table. As the place is small and fills up fast. A nice option in downtown Edmonton. But plan ahead as it doesn't take reservations!

What can I say? This place has been on my list for a long time, ever since seeing the Egg Yolk Raviolo featured all over Instagram. Bar Bricco is part of the Coso 32 group and they have a great reputation in our city. I have only heard great things about their restaurants and the quality of food that they provide. Thankfully our visit to Bar Bricco surpassed our expectations! I loved the ambiance of this little bar and it was perfect for a small group. We decided to share and try as many things as we could, all while washing it down with a delicious glass of wine. We tried the House-cultured Truffle Butter Crostino, Kale Salad, Beef Carpaccio and the Egg Yolk Raviolo along with dessert. Everything was perfect. At the time my absolute favorite was the Truffle Butter Crostino but surprisingly the Kale Salad has stuck with me. It has a great flavor and texture with the added pangrattato (bread crumbs). The Truffle Butter Crostino comes with layers upon layers of butter. This is the type of butter that you expect to find only in Europe.. amazing! This is a great place to have a glass of wine with a small bite to eat. The price for the food is fair considering the great quality. I look forward to coming back here!

I honest to God love Bae Bricco but unfortunately don't get to go nearly as much as I want to. I suppose the plus side is that it's an extra special treat when I do get to go though. Located on Jasper Ave, Bar Bricco is the perfect intimate date night spot. Bar Bricco is small, usually dimly lit, and the majority if their plates are made for sharing, preferably over a nice glass of wine or a house made cocktail. It can get rather busy and I'm not sure if they take reservations but there is about a 50/40 split between table seating and bar seats. Normally bar seating can be a little annoying but in this case it adds to the intimacy factor. My favorite recommendations would be the Egg Ravioli (which I make a habit of having every time I go) , the Fonduta (not pictured) and a charcuterie board - they a great selection of meats and cheeses. Also a nice note to add would be that Bar Bricco is vegetarian friendly. I took my partner there for the first time and was initially a little nervous as he is a vegetarian and I wasn't sure what the option selection would be like but he loved it. We had the 3 above listed items and a fennel salad and then we finished with 2 chocolate truffles. Chocolate truffles were amazing - rich and flavorful but small so it wasn't overwhelming. MUST GO DATE NIGHT VENUE!

Items Selected: 2013 Alois Lageder Gewurztraminer N'Duja & White Anchovy Crostini, Fennel, Parsley, Red Onion Eggs Moliterno 'Cacio e Pepe,' Black Truffle, Crostini Fonduta Agnolotti Dal Plin, Sage Butter, Parmigiano Housemade Porchetta with Rosemary, Garlic and Fennel with Grissini, Focaccia and Warm Bread Owned and operated by Daniel Costa, a man whose Corso 32 has topped the list of Italian restaurants in Canada for years, Bar Bricco was added to an overpacked agenda thanks to strong praise from chefs and servers at Pigeonhole and Anju, respectively, the swanky Wine Bar on Jasper Avenue proving a perfect environment for some early evening snacks. Rooted in Italian heritage, both that of its Chef and many of the Meats and Cheeses used to craft its plates, entrance to the long 30-seater any time after sunset sees diners immediately immersed in a bustling environment with music thumping, the two bartenders largely charged with taking orders and doling out wines by the glass as Sputini and some larger plates slowly trickle from a kitchen in back. Built with a focus on sharing, the lighting subdued and capable of making everyone look a little more glamorous, it was on the notes of bold and citrusy that a glass of 2013 Alois Lageder Gewurztraminer was suggested, slow sips seeing it pair well with a starter of spicy Calabrian Sausage and sliced Anchovies on Bread with shaved Fennel, Red Onion and Parsley. An oddly paced restaurant, plates coursed out with significant gaps even before the space really starts hopping, it was unavoidably eavesdropping on two Women discussing the complexities of dating while pursuing a career in Law that nearly thirty minutes passed before the arrival of plate two, the airy pudding of Eggs Moliterno served with grated Cheese and Black Pepper further embellished by Winter Truffles while simultaneously served naked Cheese Agnolotti were cleverly served 'fondue-style' with a sidecar of herbal Butter designed for dipping. Impressed by the affordable Wine List and imported ingredients, but far more intrigued by items made in-house, it was after sizing up the menu at my subsequent dinner reservation that a plate of Housemade Porchetta was added, the room temperature meat served with Bread warm from the oven offering a perfect ratio of fat and protein with a hefty endowment of Rosemary and Garlic.

I really like it here for a girls night or a casual date. It's generally pretty busy and can be a bit loud, but the vibe is sexy and cozy in the dimly lit room. Service can be a bit spotty if they're super busy. Highly highly recommend the porchetta - it's so flavourful and melts in your mouth. If you're eating any of the cheeses, the black pepper truffle honey is my favourite condiment. I've not had anything here I dislike, but those are my must haves every time I go.

Received great service on a quieter Sunday night from Aven (sp?). It was my husband's and my first time at Bar Bricco and overall we left satisfied and happy. Items ordered: Egg yolk raviolo Fonduta Agnolotti Chef's special crostini with fresh shucked peas, mint and lemon caccio y pepe 18 month prosciutto di parma Chocolate truffles for dessert Everything was executed well and generous with flavour. The pasta dishes were beautiful. The taste profile of a few of the dishes were very similar though - a combination of butter, parmesan and pepper. Perhaps our fault for not realizing we ordered dishes that used very similar ingredients. The house made focaccia that accompanied the prosciutto was heavenly, warm and fluffy. I couldn't get enough! The prosciutto was some of the best i've tried - not overly salty or fatty and melt in your mouth tender. According to our server, the cured meats are sourced from Spinelli's. Good to know. Loved the chef's special crostini with fresh peas - it was fresh, savoury, tangy and delicious. The chocolate truffles were a slight disappoint though - although creamy and chocolatey- i found them overly salty so it ruined the taste profile. We both had some bevvies to accompany our meal - myself a glass of the Gewurztraminer and my husband, a couple glasses of Peroni. Our bill came to $105 including tax. Great date night with great service and ambience. The live dj was a nice touch. We will definitely return.

There was three of us that decided to gather here for a small birthday gathering. I was super excited to try this place, as I've had it bookmarked for awhile. I arrived separately from the other two, I actually walked right past the door thinking it was all part of Corso 32 (which does have a sign). I walked all the way to remedy before I realized that I needed to turn around... As there is no signage on the door, the window nor above the door where most signage is, this is important for me to share as much as if you are mobility limited like me, I'd suggest to have someone to drop you off at the door. The parking can be hard to find if something is happening at the arena, that night happened to be a playoff game. The food itself was delectable, arrived quickly and the girls were very happy with their wine choices. Tip for those that are trying a few plates to share, order a meat choice to go with whatever else you pick. I suggest this as there's more bread that comes with that selection than say the cheese or egg choices. Believe me, you definitely want more than enough bread for all choices you're sharing as some played would be classified as good enough to lick the plate clean. Whatever you do, make sure you have room for the truffles at the end. OMG. Melt in your mouth awesomeness. I'm still dreaming of them, thus me writing this review. The place had really interesting decor and definitely a fun gathering spot. However, if you're looking for a quiet place to have conversations this is not the place to go. As its a small venue, you tend to be talking quite loud to be able to communicate even with a small group. Granted, when we did switch to a table it got a bit easier to talk but then we had to always watch how we sat as it was easy to accidentally bump the person behind you. Service was quick and polite but it lacked a bit of the basics like making sure we all had plates, filling water regularly, asking if the girls wanted more wine or bread before whisking away with empty item. It got to a point we felt like we had to do quick strategizing every time we wanted something, by placing the empty item in a visible area but close enough to us we could slow her down before she vanished again. The bill was pretty high at the end but again the food was fantastic. Definitely worth trying again but I'll be a bit more aware of events happening downtown next time I try this location, as I think the fullness of the venue played into some of this experience.

Most people in the city are familiar with Sabor, Edmonton's legendary Spanish and Portuguese restaurant. But have you ever wished that there was a more casual, more low-key version of Sabor? Maybe with multiple conveniently located spots around town? Well you're in luck because that's exactly what Bodega is! You'll find Bodega's flagship restaurant in the lower street level part of Sabor itself, however there are now five other locations. It's almost a guarantee that there is a Bodega near you, no matter where you are. People have loved this place for years. Voted as #1 Best Tapas 2018, #1 Best Spanish 2018, and #1 Best Wine Bar 2018 in VUE Weekly. CBC Edmonton's Best Restaurants 2019 listed them as Best of Downtown. And you'll find them as a Favourite Communal (Sharing) spot on the Edmonton Food Faves We Crave 2022 list. It turns out that the people of Edmonton love a laid-back tapas moment and getting some sangria into the mix doesn't hurt either. I was excited to visit Bodega's original location in the heart of Downtown on a Saturday evening and to finally experience their flavours. The first thing to note about the OG Bodega restaurant is that they don't take reservations, however all of the other ones do. As previously mentioned, you will find the flagship location right inside of Sabor. Parking can sometimes be tricky in this area and that's the only downside. If you've been to Sabor before you already know how impressive the space is. The huge building is one of those places that doesn't need to pretend to be old because it actually is. Instead of heading up the stairs into Sabor's dining space, Bodega is found to the left of the entrance in the lower street-facing area. It's actually a wonderful use of space which otherwise might not have served much of a purpose. Less dressed up and grand than Sabor (but still bearing a similar decor), Bodega harnesses the Spanish modern-day watering hole vibe by featuring a simple but beautiful bar area and bistro-style al fresco dining in the warmer months. The dining space is small and because there are no reservations taken it might be necessary to prepare for a wait. When my group arrived it took about 15 minutes to be seated which seemed entirely reasonable. We were pleased to be situated at a beautiful little table outdoors, in the warm summer breeze. Unfortunately, there were a lot of bugs flying around that kept landing on our table and we had to ask to be moved to one of the more interior tables. Thankfully the staff was able to accommodate this! We really didn't want the bugs to land in our food. The servers who visited our table were all extraordinarily friendly and gracious. Of course there were going to be drinks! The wine list is plentiful and extensive. However, I was more drawn to the interesting Iberico gin & tonics, caipirinhas, sangria, and the signature cocktails. These are the types of drinks that I picture myself holding on a patio in the summer. From the cocktail list, the De Puta Madre (Mezcal, dry Sherry, pineapple, lemon, orgeat, cocoa powder - $16) sounded like the most special one to me. Out of curiosity, I put the name of this drink into a Spanish to English translator and had a pretty good laugh when I learned that it means Fucking Awesome. Well. Sounds like I made the correct beverage choice! And I really did enjoy sipping on this perfectly crafted cocktail. I was slightly worried that the mezcal would be very strong and boozy, but the balance of the ingredients was lovely. I felt that I was able to taste and appreciate the flavour of the mezcal without it being too overpowering. The fruity and sweet flavours from the pineapple, lemon, and almond syrup made the drink fun, but again it wasn't too sweet either. I loved this cocktail and it paired perfectly with the rest of the meal. The food menu is packed full of options and every single thing sounds enticing. The good news is that the plates are small and part of the experience is to order a lot of them. There's a whole long list of tapas, but also breads, spreads, charcutaria, and cheese if you are in the mood to create an exciting board (I always am!). There are also some larger plates if you are truly looking for one big meal of food. On this visit I was aiming to remain in the tapas realm since that is what this restaurant is actually all about. As such, we proceeded to barrage our server with a long list of items, eager to sample as many dishes as reasonably possible. We were asked if we would prefer to have every dish all at once, but opted for a slow and staggered method. No need to hurry though! It wasn't long before our parade of plates began to arrive. First was the Brushchetta (Grape tomato and fromage blanc - $14.00). I wouldn't have chosen this dish on my own accord but I saw it pass by on its way to a different table and it caught my eye. The tomatoes looked
