The atmosphere was also really nice great place to relax and enjoy a meal. The food was awesome, especially the spinach dip. July 11/2015: Dinner with my Al. On total, this was a very mediocre meal. Place was busy for a Friday nite so we sat at the bar. The service itself was good. Our server was a very nice young lady that kept on top of our very low maintenance meal. Very casual, laidback dinner ambiance, which I like. We started off with the Szechuan Beans ($13.00). Very tasty with loads of garlic & a little tiny bite. Good size portion but it was $13.00 after all so it should have been good. My main was the Truffle Chicken Parmesan ($32.00!). This looked like a 1/2 chicken breast, pan fried with parm cheese to a crisp, dressed out with oyster mushrooms. Came with gnocchi that was only warm, not hot. We are seasoned CC veterans, so we've seen the good and bad on so many fronts. Our experience this evening was top drawer with great service (we sat at the bar, as we often do) good food and a great atmosphere. Emma from New West was attentive enough, engaging enough, and most importantly listened and noted our choices. We asked for our shared appy to come out first so we could enjoy it, and our shared burger and fries to come out after we had enjoyed our lettuce wrap. Sounds easy to accomplish, but so many times we eat out and share, with the request to get one, and finish one, prior to moving on is ignored. Ambiance is typical CC, the food is almost always on point, but when you get service like we enjoyed tonight it makes you want to come back. Second trying their happy hour. It s a very pretty resturant and the service all very nice. However their hh food is a little less cuz you get less. First time had the avocado kale salad and the chicken Cajun. The salad was sizable and very delish and the cajun chick sandwich was nice. Could be bigger but at least it was flavorful. The second time the salad shrunk to much smaller size but still good. However the cheese burger was dismal. the patty was flatter the i got at triple o the day before. It also looked like it had 10 rounds of the grill b4 i got it. i did tell the server but all she said was was at least i got to try it.... wow. There were other items I wanted to try on hh but I dont think it's worth my time. This one's a couple days late because I've been in a food coma trying to recover from how good the meal was. I ordered the Creole chicken, and man, it was scrumptious--the chicken practically melted in my mouth. You know what they say: the food is only as good as the setting, and boy, was my mom and I entertaining ourselves. We had Friday night football on while the sun was setting, which really set the vibe in the establishment. Last, and certainly not least, our server she was phenomenal. Not only was her service top-notch, but she was so kind and kinda cute...Honestly, I think she might have the hots for me, because she took my drinks and my appy off the bill. Spacious, clean, good food, and okay service. It had been a while since my last visit to this location. I have to say that although Edmonton has fewer CCs, they are always a good and reliable place to go for a meal or happy hour. I recommend both the fish tacos and the avocado kale salad. The photo shows half a serving of the salad. I was pleasantly surprised at the quantity and quality of the salad. This salad is definitely great for those who want something filling, light, and tasty. The service was okay. It wasn't out of the ordinary. Had a "staff get together" nite at the WEM location last Friday. Secured reservation a week in advance and it was no problem. Was seated on time and in the area I had requested. Our waiter was Billal N and he was great thoroughout! We were there about 3 hours or more and ordered tuna & salmon appetizers, a lot of mixed drinks, beer and several entrees including a poke bowl and fish tacos, and a few other things. Topped it off with chocolate cake and cheesecake. We had so much fun and at times were a little bit too loud, but only from laughing and reconnecting. The venue on the patio is gorgeous and is comfortable throughout. Possibly one of the very best in Edmonton. The bill was, what I thought to be,very reasonable for 6 people and the amount of food and drink we ordered. All in all, the food was excellent, our waiter was excellent ( attentive but not clingy at all, and got the order 100% correct, zero errors ), and the ambience wonderful. This cactus club is located at West Ed Mall. I made reservations online quite easily and the restaurant was at capacity. They have a 2 hour time limit which they actually do enforce as we were told about 5 minutes before our time was up. The cocktails were delicious! The Kyoto Fizz is a new cocktail and definitely the favorite one out of all of them. The food is pretty standard, tastes great every time, reliable and consistent. The only thing I would say is that cactus is a bit on the pricey side. But if you're coming here you probably already know that and are prepared to pay the price. The best dish at cactus is the butternut squash ravioli. I always try to order food that I cannot make at home and this one is super challenging to get right. I got the vegetarian version but you can also order this dish with shrimp on it as well. ($23-$30) For appetizers we ordered the truffle fries which are to die for! As well as the calamari which we found a tad bit salty but once we put the lemon on it it was ok. The service was great as always! Keenan was our server and he was very friendly and fun! On Thursday, February 10th my friend and I were out for a guy's night as an early celebration for my 50th birthday on the 21 ( we had other plans on the 21st). We went to the Cactus Club at West Edmonton Mall for a good steak dinner, and oh WOW! They did not disappoint. The hostess was very friendly and inviting, our server was FANTASTIC and the the steak was so perfect, I don't even have words that are adequate to describe how good it was. Then I ordered dessert. Let me tell you, the white chocolate cheesecake was a work of art. They even let me add caramel sauce for no extra charge. When I got the cheesecake, they even wrote "Happy Birthday" on the plate. I honestly have not idea about the price, as my friend was treating me, so I didn't look at the bill. Let me tell you, whatever he paid was worth it. The whole dinner was perfect. This is definitely a place to make a reservation on a Friday night! We had one for 6:30PM and most of the restaurant was occupied. There were people that came in and left since they couldn't get a table right away. We were asked if we had a preference where we wanted to sit but we didn't. We waited a few minutes and then seated in a booth. The lighting inside was a bit dark. The music played great songs and not too loud. Our server was attentive throughout our stay and didn't visit too many times. The drinks sounded great but we were having booze at home after so I stuck with water. I decided on the duck clubhouse with yam fries for an extra $2.50. I wasn't sure about it being served on the fruit bread but it wasn't a thick slice and the taste was not too fruity. It worked with the duck and chicken. The sandwich was delicious and it didn't look big but it was filling. I enjoyed the fun vibe of this Cactus Club. Although the price is a few dollars more than other places I frequent, I would come again to celebrate a special occasion. read more

We made reservations for 5pm last night and they let another group take our table. We spent the next hour waiting for them to leave before we were seated, stuck getting hit by cold air in the lobby as everyone left. Once we sat down, service was lacklustre at best, as was the food, the place was way too loud even for a Friday (my coworkers across the table couldn't hear each other), and I was very disappointed by how bland my steak was when it arrived. Our server was pleasant and attentive although the front hostess staff yesterday afternoon didn't seem the most friendliest. Happy hour was from 2-6. Great deals to be had. Tried the Kyoto Fizz for $8 and not only was a beautiful drink to see, it tasted amazing too. Preferred Kyoto Fizz even over their new Frozen Sangria. The Cajun Chicken sandwich was full of flavour and toppings fresh, bun warm. Fries though were too salty so we weren't able to finish those. Hubs ordered the cheddar burger - he demolished it pretty quickly so it's safe to say it was good. He also found his fries salty too. For our 4 year old, we ordered the teriyaki chicken bowl. All staff were amazingly cheerful and helpful. Special mention to all the hostesses; they were all so welcoming and engaging. That's very rare; pay them well. My husband's steak was perfect. I really appreciated the mix of flavours in both my ceviche and my cold noodle salad. I had let them know that it was our 35th wedding anniversary and we really appreciated the complimentary dessert and greeting card.. I was fanning myself with a fan that I had brought from home. A lovely hostess noticed and brought me a spray fan. Unbelievable! Our server was excellent. Never have I or my husband experienced such a warm and dedicated welcome, and we felt that throughout our visit. We were lucky enough to get a last-minute lounge reservation for Sept 18th a few hours before we went to the restaurant. When we arrived and checked in, our table wasn't quite ready yet, so we waited an extra 10 minutes or so. The hostess was lovely and very polite. When our table was ready, we were led out to the covered patio area which was PERFECT! The indoor lounge area was really full and super loud, so it was nice to be in the "outdoor" area. Our server was Nolan G and we want to give him a HUGE SHOUT OUT! He was absolutely amazing the entire time! During Covid, we've gone out to restaurants a bit when we can but mostly have picked up orders to take home or ordered in. So going out to sit in a restaurant is always a treat. Nolan's customer service that night was by far THE best service we've had at any restaurant in a really, really long time. He gave us great menu suggestions, was personable, a great conversationalist & we really enjoyed our meal & night out much more because of his service. Neither my spouse nor I could imagine working in the restaurant industry right now, so it was really nice to see Nolan's great personality & spirit come through. And our food was amazing! We hadn't been to a Cactus Club in over 5 years & we were super impressed! I had the Cheddar Bacon Burger with yam fries and a Tequila Guava seltzer. My spouse had the JD Ribs and a P49 Stir Crazy. I had lower expectations for my burger as it's a menu item I don't normally order from a chain restaurant because they're usually a frozen patty and tasteless. But I was pleasantly surprised! The burger had great flavor to it, the toppings were fresh, bun was great and I really enjoyed it! My spouse loved his ribs too! Very flavorful and a good-sized portion. Once again we had a wonderful experience at the west end Cactus Club! It was our 9 year anniversary dinner and we were not disappointed. We came on a Wednesday so bottles of wine were half priced, so obviously we ordered one ;) I got a delicious steak cooked to perfection and my husband was feeling a burger, even their burgers are exceptional here! At the end of our meal we were deciding on a dessert and we were surprised with a Happy Anniversary mini dessert, so thoughtful! Any cactus club is my go to for late bites. Since they are open late and also have happy hour for $3 from 5 to 10 pm which is actually customer happy hour . I sticker with happy hour deals of the night which got me a cocktail , fish taco and mini burgers each for $3. Drink was strong n not just cubes of ice and food was juicy and full of yummy flavour. My vegetarian friend sticked with a salad which was expensive and so little in quality. Since he wasn't hungry so he gives it thumbs up. Spacious seating and candles make the place appear so romantic and lively at the same time. There is a bar area to enjoy the drinks and washrooms are too clean. read more
