The service at Earls was nice. I came here for a quick solo dinner as I was travelling for business. I stopped by without a reservation and was able to be seated relatively quickly. I wanted a booth because most of them seemed to be empty; however, I was told it would be a 15-30 minute wait to be seated, so I sat by the bar. The food was good, and the bartender was attentive. Earls is usually pretty consistent, and service is always great. This visit did have a couple little hiccups, but the small problem was quickly resolved. Our server Yoshin (apologies if I spelled that incorrectly) was amazing as always. Very knowledgeable (especially about the drink menu!) and quick to make a recommendation or suggestion if we're looking to change it up. The food wasn't as good this time. Likely an isolated incident, but something I will be looking for at my next visit. The drinks however, were bangin' Where Earls really fell short this time was the random dirty trays stacked with plates and glassware all over the place. On top of tables, chairs, everywhere. I love the seating and area inside with the TVs at the bar or the options to sit in booths to dine at. I went for a happy hour to kill some time and the happy hour menu didn't disappoint with the food and drinks options available ! Came on a Monday evening and we were seating near the back and there were just a few other tables occupied. They were good to spread people apart so no one was close to each other. The server brought out a jug of water for us to pour what we wanted as we didn't order any drinks. For food, we shared the spinach dip served with bread sticks and dry ribs which came in short time after we ordered. I am not a big cheesy and gooey dip person so I liked that this dip wasn't like that and it came with lots of break sticks. The ribs were ok, nothing unique about them. For my entrée, they had the new lobster and prawns ravioli with lobster sauce. Glad to see it was more than 5 or 6 ravioli. The lobster and prawn was on top of the ravioli. It was tasty and would have liked a bit more seafood. I ate half of of my entrée as I was full from the appetizers too. The service was good and we didn't fill rushed to leave the restaurant after eating our meal as it was emptying out. I've dined twice in the last month. There was a glitch with my 1st reservation. Resolved. Servers are nice, but the new ordering system has everyone confused. They now carry a tablet to send the orders directly to the kitchen. It sounds like it would be better, but it's still slow. The bussers who actually bring your food have no idea where to put it. My sister has a severe tomato allergy. She made this fact known to our server 2x. Her plate arrived with a lovely bowl of ketchup on the side. Enjoy! The bar has ALWAYS had the slowest production ever since it opened decades ago. Why oh why has this system not changed????? If you're not going to bring our drinks, at least make sure we have water. They make a delicious clam chowder. Everyone agrees. I'm quite fond of the dynamite roll, but my last order was not good. We like that you can order the Cajun chicken with little or no spice. It was our last day in the province and we really wanted to eat something that was worthwhile and it was convenient that the mall had a whole strip of restaurants to pick from and so it was bound to be busy. We got a table for 8 and it we waited a bit before they had it ready for us. I ordered the butter chicken with garlic bread on the side and it was honestly one of the best Indian dishes I have had. Portion size was also good as I did not realize that we ordered that much food since I added bread on the side. My friend who also ordered the same thing, said the same thing about the butter chicken. Service here was top notch and ambiance was nice. I really like Earls. We've consistently enjoyed our many visits to their many locations, and there are a vanishingly small number of chain restaurants that we even bother to frequent. This review is about the West Edmonton Mall ("West Ed") location, which has fierce competition on their "Bourbon Street" restaurant row. Many a time, whether it's upon first arriving in Canada and hitting the mall for an evening of people-watching and strolling about (especially in the skin-freezing winter weather) or as a last hurrah before heading out to the airport, we've ended our time at WestEd with a dinner (supper) at Earls. The staff are consistently great, cheerful, attentive, and somehow find the little extras to make the event seem personable. On our last visit we wound up nibbling from the happy-hour menu, a bit of everything. Rather than wait with the throng for the crush of table space, we opted to sit at the bar and watch the action. Our server, also a bartender, gracefully took care of our food order, wonderfully did our drinks (red wine for her, a spectacular Caesar - a bloody mary with clam juice - for me), and kept up an inclusive conversation with us, all while making drinks for the establishment. A busy guy who made it all seem effortless. The food is repeatedly satisfying, cooked well, presented nicely, and whenever there's anything not just right the staff are empowered to fix or replace the offending morsel. I don't regret any of my Earls visits and I look forward to a bunch more. read more

I've only come to the West Ed location of Earls a couple of times and every time it's a little noisy. I know it's in a mall but we never go when it's busy times to try to avoid the crowds. I actually want to talk to my friends (concept) and not yell at them. The food is what you would get at other Earls - but let's be honest, The restaurant has kicked up a notch and the food is not bad for a chain. Some of their dishes are quite unique. The fact that they have vegetarian options and gluten-free options is really nice if you're looking for those. And , in fact, they don't they taste bad either! All in all not a bad place to stop and get a meal in between shopping when you have to be at the mall. read more

I like al dente pasta but I think this pasta was sitting for a while and dry. The Alfredo sauce tasted like it came from a can- it had an evaporated milk taste to it, so disappointing (the chicken part tasted ok) Hubby ordered some chicken wings for an appetizer and they were small and over cooked or sitting under heat for too long. We finally decided to use our gift card from beginning of December to have a night out without kids. Bourbon street is always so wild on the weekend and this was no different. We got there around 7pm and went and put our names down. We were lucky to get in almost right away to the lounge. The table was close to the outer edge so it was nice to be able to people watch, but it was VERY loud. Maybe it's because I am a mom and always at home, but it seemed loud and our conversations were short because we couldn't hear that great. I ordered a sangria, which is one of my faves from here. It was good, but there seemed to be way more ice than normal and I'm guessing it's because each "cocktail" was $2 off so they save this way. The waitress was nice and filled our waters whenever empty. For appies we had the coconut shrimp which was AMAZING! I would totally recommend this to anyone who goes! Soooooooo good. Dinner I had a steak and Caesar salad and Sheldon had a burger. My steak was done correctly but I got two sides of Caesar and instead of putting it on the plate they put it in bowls, separated which was awkward and weird. Dessert we tried the s'mores cheese cake. It was alright. I wish the cheesecake had more flavor to it instead of just chocolate, maybe like a marshmallow cheesecake instead. When we were finished the waitress took about 20 minutes just to bring the bill and then to come take the payment took a while too. She didn't allow us to have the bill portion of it to put in gratuity and we ended up having to pay cash for that. Not really happy with that. In West Ed and wanting something different we decided to head to Earls on Bourbon Street for lunch. It was quiet as we were there on a Monday lunchtime and we really liked that there were not as many TV's as most bar/restaurants. The service was lovely, our waitress was attentive and really helped us with the menu options. I ordered a caesar salad that was an enormous portion, the chicken was spicy and gave the salad a boost. I washed it down with a perfectly made Caesar cocktail. Maybe I watched too much Spartacus recently, who knows but all I can say is 'All hail, Caesar'. This is probably my least favourite Earls Location - Bourbon Street West Edmonton Mall. It's overly loud and busy; it's completely open to the Bourbon Street walkway. I find the food here inconsistent. I'd much rather visits stand alone Earls Location. That being said if you are looking for a yummy meal, my fave is the pear and Brie chicken sandwich! read more

This Earl's is located within the West Edmonton Mall. Personally, I find this shopping centre to be somewhat disorienting and Earl's provides a nice port in the storm as part of a more extended shopping day. However, after eating here, I prefer a stand alone Earl's and with a nice outdoor patio. Unlike the the other 3 reviews posted here, my work colleague and I had a nice dinner here, although I'll admit that the service was a "bit" uneven. The servers were appropriately apologetic and at no time did we fell that we were crowded in. We particularly enjoyed the nice and modern layout and the energy. The drinks were tasty, we both enjoyed our food and some interesting conversations, and as neither tourists nor fantasy landers, we went back to the hotel full, happy, and no plans to do better in Hinton. read more

Overall very slow service and the waitress often forgot about us. This is the first time I am ordering individual lunches for a special Corporate office occasion. Due to the pandemic, we opted for a takeout rather than a dine in. It was a surprise lunch for a colleague and quite a successful one at that. I am truly impressed by the General Manager, Hovig Boyadjian. He is amazing, very personable and helpful. He offered suggestions and was super easy to work with. He was also very accommodating, went the extra mile and offered delivery. Our lunches were so delicious. Everyone was raving about them for days. The Cajun Chicken, the Roasted Chicken, the fall off the bone BBQ ribs, the Cajun Salmon, the Oven roasted salmon with asparagus and superb feta caper and dill aioli which I could eat a whole jar of if it was offered and the Thai Prawn Curry bowl. I have been sharing my experience with all my friends and colleagues, and I am hoping to go for a sit down meal soon. Went here with my sisters for some late dinner on a weeknight and it was surprisingly really good. We didn't have to wait as we chose to sit on the lounge area. Service was fast and our waiter was very nice and friendly. We ordered some fried calamari, sweet yam fries and California rolls, cesar salad and the kung poa chicken bowl. My sis ordered the salmon entree with rice. Everything was so yummy, although the salmon was a bit too salty. Would totally recommend coming during happy hours as you get better deals. read more

My mom had the soup, salad, and pan bread and said it was "exactly what she needed". :) I had the Jeera curry chicken. Received some excellent service at this Earl's location last night while doing some last minute Christmas shopping with the masses at WEM. After being greeted by the trio of hostesses waiting outside, we sat ourselves at a table in the lounger and was greeting promptly by our server. She asked us for our drink orders. I only wanted water with lemon and my fiance ordered an iced tea. One of the managers promptly brought over our drinks and even remembered the lemon I requested. I ordered the bacon and cheddar burger with fries, while my fiance ordered a steak, rare, with a side of grilled prawns. The food came out in a decent time. Unfortunately, my fiance's steak was overcooked so he told our server who quickly took it back to be remedied. But before leaving, she asked him he wanted something else to nibble on while he waited, which he declined as he could have some of my meal. No sooner had she left, that the same manager who brought us our drink order, came by the table to apologize and also reaffirm that the kitchen was working on a new order. Between the two of us, we finished my burger and fries before his meal reappeared. I should mention my burger was pretty good, full of flavor, if not a touch too salty. The fries on the other hand, were lukewarm at best. When his order arrived (via the manager), she now asked me if I wanted something else to eat while waiting, and she offered up their seasonal dessert special, which was a warm gingerbread cake with caramelized apples and vanilla ice cream. How could I pass that up?! So I happily agreed and sure enough, they brought out a complimentary dessert for me. How very nice! And it was so yummy! Moist and full of flavour, it totally invoked Christmas in my tastebuds! I wish I could've finished it all but alas I ended up having to take most of it home as a delicious leftover. So my fiance's new steak was prepared to his liking... the prawns he ordered on the side were a whopping 12! The steak came with roasted yams and beets (both delicious!) plus mashed potatoes (which I also enjoyed!). In the meantime, throughout the dinner service, our server brought over a new refilled iced tea for my fiance several times without asking, which I thought was a nice touch -anticipating needs! Needless to say, we both had a great meal with excellent attention to service and we made a point of not only tipping to reflect that but also made sure we told our server we were impressed by her service. We had a good experience here. For a Saturday night on bourbon st, our wait time was very short. We waited for maybe 4 minutes and got seated at a nice big round booth. Our hostess was friendly and so was our server. We made it in time for happy hour and drank $3.50 draft beer that was pretty good. Service was fast! We ate the Leroys crispy ribs and the spinach dip from the happy hour menu. Both were delicious. I loved the dip and that it came with French bread spears. Two beers each and two appys - 35$. Bourbon Street is a great place to go for a bite to eat. You have so many choices! I love Bourbon Street because it's like a little subculture in West Edmonton Mall. It's got a warm, trendy feel to it. The whole strip is inspired by New Orleans and it has a great feel all around. It's also a great place to take a date! You can grab dinner at one of the many restaurants or pubs on Bourbon Street, then take in a comedy show. After that, you can go for dessert at The Red Piano. It's a great place to go on a Friday night or for a nice rest after a day of shopping your socks off! My wife and I popped in for lunch on NYE and sat at the bar, which was being tended by Andrew. As a "long-time-ago" employee of Earl's, I know that the staff are hand-picked for being great at customer service, but I have to say Andrew was a cut-above. He was extremely attentive, making conversation if either of us left to use the restroom, pleasant, and engaging. And I can say that he made the most balanced Whiskey Sours either of us have ever had! Not that the visit was all about the service (although that was the icing) or the drinks - the food was great - and the ceasar salad remains top shelf. read more

Just like other similar chains their waitresses are clearly hired on looks not ability, so don't expect your order to be correct, but hey they were fun and flirty so there's that? Our food took ages and was SUPER bland, even the "spicy tofu tacos" had absolutely no spice. The calamari was obviously pre cut frozen and lacked any flavour. The tuna poke was acceptable, but overall given the exorbitant price and the lack of flavour or any other redeeming factor it will definitely be my last visit. read more

Today is Wednesday, October 24, 2018. I went in around 7pm. Was not greeted at the door as there wasn't a host in sight, so I took the liberty to sit at the bar. Sat at the bar for a good 10 minutes as I watched the server/waitress behind the bar talk to her friends about them going to "the rec". I assume they were her friends as they held a good conversation. The bartender further down was busy making drinks but he did notice me and tried to make eye contact with the waitress. The waitress then talked to who I assume was a regular. Mind you I was maybe 1 of 3 people at the bar - not full at all. She picked up her friend's plates who were seated two seats away from me, not very far, and even walked past me a few times. After ten minutes with zero acknowledgement, I picked up my stuff, looked at the bartender because I think he did notice I wasn't being tended to, and I left. Zero words with any staff. 2nd Review: Brunch Not sure if you guys skimped on the hash and Eggs Benedict dishes but there was not much there. The sever also told us we could not order brunch because it was after two ( which was not the case - we all pulled out our phones to show her the correct time - she did not seem very pleased). We arrived at 1:20 and took until 1:50 for our orders to be placed. Right on bourbon street! Hostesses were friendly and the sever provided great service! Love the fact she brought water without us even having to mention a thing. The white peach Bellini is on special Tuesdays. Earls! My have your Dynamite Rolls shrunk! ( or we got left over scraps). 5 Stars! Every year for our stay-vacation, I book a different theme room for our family to stay at Fantasyland. It's our tradition to always eat at Earles! Amazing foods & cocktails every time! Last night we had the best waitress...Angelina! Angelina is such a delight! She catered to all of our questions and requests with genuine care & sweetness. We loved the Truffle Chicken, Cajun Salmon & Ribs! Usually we get the spicy Asian Noodle bowl. The bday dinner was complete with the Sticky Toffee Cake. Thanks, Angelina! Now it's brutal, I ordered food (Cajun sandwich) with a side and I had to eat my side with the toothpick that came in the sandwich, asked more than once for cutlery but never came. The only reason I ever go to this earls was for the service and hospitality from the servers. Upon arrival at the mall yesterday we went to Earl's for lunch. I had the bacon cheeseburger with fries. This was very good but what I didn't like was nobody came around to see if we wanted refills on our $4 glasses of Coke until we were ready to leave. I sometimes feel cheap not leaving much of a tip when the service isn't stellar but the food and beverages are overpriced at all these kinds of places so I don't think there should be any excuse when it comes to something as simple as asking if we want a refill of 20 cents worth of Coke. If ever there was a "meh" experience, this was it. We arrived around 7 on Saturday evening. Of course, everywhere was pretty full, but Earls did not have a wait for their lounge area. So we went in and sat right away. We were off to a great start. Our server came over right away and took our drink orders. I ordered the Cherry Long Island (which was delicious), and she warned me that the alcohol was very strong. It wasn't any different than any other Long Island Iced Tea I've had though... other than maybe a little sweeter. Once our drinks came, it started to go downhill. We waited quite a while to place our orders. Once we did, we waited even longer for our food to come. Between the two of us, we ordered the fish tacos (with garlic fries) and the Cajun chicken sandwich (with regular fries). The garlic fries were definitely better than the plain ones. My friend's fries came with the tiniest little dish of ketchup. When a server (not ours, somebody else) brought her diet coke refill that she had been waiting on for 10 minutes, she asked for more ketchup. It didn't come. Our server came by to see how everything was. I let her know that we had asked for ketchup and never saw it.... she finally got us some. When we were all done, we waited about 20 minutes before somebody else finally came and brought us our bills. Our server had completely disappeared for the last half our of our time there. Now.... for the food. My friend said that her sandwich was just okay. Nothing special. And she wished she had gotten the garlic fries. My fish taco was interesting. The fish was nice, but was more batter than fish. They come 2 to an order.. the first one was so spicy I thought my mouth was on fire. The second one was fine, so I'm not sure if there was just less jalapeno is the salsa on that one, or if my mouth was just used to it. Also.... I have to say that I really hope we get over this fad of using dry, cold corn tortillas on tacos. Corn tortillas are great, but they need to be fried or cooked some way. I ended up just eating the filling in the second taco because the shell was so tough to eat I just gave up. read more

We went for lunch to this very busy location. The service was exceptional and Lara was very attentive. I asked for a straw for my Moscow mule. So cute she brought it over in a shooter glass. I have to say Lara was a cut-above. I had the starter Caesar salad, was missing the croutons and bacon bits. My bestie had the chicken sliders,they smelled divine. Normally I enjoy going to Earl's and I still do... Just not this location. Ever. Ever. Again. The service my partner and I received the last time we went to this location was completely inexcusable. Being completely ignored, either on purpose or just from shear ignorance (we couldn't tell which) right from when we first sat down till our departure was nothing short of impressive. I used to like going here especially after a couple hours of shopping in the mall and now I make a concerted effort to not go. I am not a picky person by any means but holy man... needless to say the food has also gone down hill in the last while as well. Great dimmed atmosphere yet classy. A good selection of seating area where you can either sit on the ground level which is pretty much the bar area or the just the normal dining area. I must say, they've got such comfy cushy seats that I almost didn't want to leave. Their bloody mary aka caesar was pure delicious. To start, I had the caesar salad, it was fresh - crunchy & simply refreshing. For the mains I had their steak and mushrooms, it was cooked perfectly - just the way I liked it. Food is definitely a WIN. As for their service, it felt a little unorganised. We had 3-5 different servers that came up to us at different point and it was just difficult to get hold of our main server for stuffs. It took them a while. Me and my companion also noticed that the servers would group up in an area chatting away and for most part - we couldn't even see our main waitress. She was hardly anywhere after taking our orders. That was a downer.. The service does bring down the overall experience but at the end it was improved by a more consistent waitress no. 5 or 6... I guess I have pretty much lost count...
