Awesome service and ambiance. Chicken tenders and fries were great. Earls never disappoint! This is also a perfect place to go before shows at the Jubilee Aud. Will come here again!

    A tasty, tasty Caesar.

I have come to really like Earl's. It took a while, as my attentions were fixed on higher-end steakhouses, but once I realized Earl's was playing a different tune then I was able to appreciate what's on offer. Earl's has a wider menu than does a typical steakhouse, and it caters to a fun night-out crowd. This isn't a bad thing, it's just different than those who are bitterly disappointed by anything less than 30-day dry aged beef. For example, tonight we hit Earl's as the Oilers played, a tradition for us. Better food than a sports bar but complete with a lot of TV, boisterous crowd, and the obligatory Caesars (a Bloody Mary variant found up here in Canada). Out bartender, Shawn, mixed us the best Caesars we've had in a long time! Perfectly balanced, savory, without that common bitter yang. The short ribs were crunchy, tasty, satisfying. The tuna-on-a-chip were sublime - we gobbled down more than a handful of orders. The nachos were the only disappointment of the night; a dearth of cheese meant we were send a plate of heated tortilla chips with a dusting of jalapeño. Really? Ugh. The steaks and burgers and chicken wings we've ordered on previous visits have been great, as have the sides. Thank you Earl's for giving us a welcoming and comfortable place to eat and drink well. We'll be back soon.

So I am not a big fan of Earl's to begin with. I think it is mostly because the atmosphere is a place where I think would attract douchy engineers and I avoid these places like a plague. That being said they have a great happy hour menu and it was super convenient to campus. Same atmosphere as all the other Earls, too much black accents, mood music that doesn't help and I think that the servers don't have enough clothes on. Our server was spotty with her service, particularly when we were taking our time sipping out beers. Onto the food. The menu is diverse enough that you can find something for everyone on the menu. Their happy hour menu is excellent. It has a lot of things on it that range from 4 bucks for a pizza (which my friend got) to around 16 bucks for the poke bowl (which I got). Food was decent. Not amazing but not awful and for 4 bucks for beer you can't find a better deal in the city for that. Would I go there any other time...probably not. However for happy hour not a bad bang for your buck

Earls is Earls. It's your average run of the mill cookie-cutter restaurant. When my partner have a difficult time deciding where to go for dinner, we occasionally settle on Earls. We find that we always have great service and good food at this location. This location is extremely consistent and we've never had a bad visit. Last night we went for dinner, it was a Friday night, and we were surprised by how quiet the place was. We usually opt for seating in the lounge, and there were quite a few tables available when we got there around 8:30 PM. The hostess seated us quickly and our server was with us, and welcomed us back, as she clearly recognized us from one of our previous visits. This was nice. It's always pleasant to have staff recognize you and ask how you've been, even if you don't go there often. So that was great. Service was quick, food was hot and warm and tasted great. Drinks were good too; I ordered a Pink Frozen Lemonade which is very out of my comfort zone. It tasted like lavender and lemonade and was super refreshing. A great patio drink, even though I drank it inside a restaurant while it was pouring outside. We shared the spinach dip which is always so well made, and we also shared chicken tenders. Both of these dishes are staples that we share, and they're always done properly. I ordered the warm kale salad with chicken which was nice; it was topped with almonds, cranberries, and had potato halves in it. My partner ordered the Sicilian pizza which he loved. Food here is always good, and we've never complained. All in all, the experiences here are always good and the food is always worth the price. Happy hour is a great time to come since they have decent deals on food and drink. But for us, the main reason we continue to come back here is consistency; the food is always great and the staff are so kind and welcoming every time we go.

Came here with a table for about 12 right after the lunch rush. Seating was not an issue at all since it was a late lunch. Parking can be a problem unless you are willing to pay for it or have some sort of parking arrangements on campus. It is a university location after all. But, it is fairly close to public transit too. Despite quick seating, service was slower as well, even though it wasn't bustling with customers. The server did know her menu though, so it was good she could answer questions. Menu is pretty decent. I'm a little sad to see that bibimbap was no longer on the menu. But, they did have a $5 discount promo going on if you ordered a steak or a beef burger...probably as a result of that previous local vs. ethical beef debacle. No complaints here though! I got a BBQ burger with fries that ended up being as cheap as an appetizer, but more satisfying. I even had enough to eat as a leftover supper. Burger tasted well enough, but not something that would make me a repeat customer for. I also like how the bill can be separated per person which makes it easier to go Dutch here.

The food is nothing special, but the quality is consistent. There are always a good number of menu options. It's your average cookie-cutter restaurant, and that is not a bad thing. Sometimes you just want to go somewhere that will please 9 out of 10 people in a group. The service is a bit spotty, and during peak periods the table-to-server ratio is lacking, which means slow service. In summary -- great for groups when you want something consistent, reliable, and having options for everyone.

Great service and friendly. I had the kale salad with blackened chicken. It was pretty good. The chicken has a bit of a kick but I'm a wimp when it comes to spice. Their old fashioned drinks are awesome!! Tip: if going for a concert u have to be here befor 6pm or you're waiting in line

This menu is meant for sharing. We decided to split some dishes - the tuna crudo, the meatballs with grilled foccacia, and the cauliflower. There was some hits and some misses. The hits first - tuna crudo was great with fermented mango, coconut milk and sesame crackers. Fresh and exciting. The second one I loved was the meatballs. The sauce was amazing and meatballs were full of flavour. Make sure you order the bread to soak up all the sauce. These two I would totally recomend. The two that were disappointing was the cauliflower. It comes as a whole head and the idea is that you cut it into pieces. So the sauce doesn't really penetrate the cauliflower and the sauce was okay but seemed to berry forward. The pizza was worse. Barely any toppings except an obsene amount of arugla which didn't add anything to the dish. I had three peices and there was only two measly small peices of chicken. It also lacked flavour. Skip these. Saying that I would come here again to try some other things. But save your stomach and don't order the pizza.

Slap on your sparkly dress and a pair of heels (or wear whatever the heck you want) and make your way to Downtown's pink palace! You'll remember this location as the former home of Fu's Repair Shop and Prairie Fish & Chips before that. The Edmonton Food Faves We Crave 2024 list named Dolly's as Favourite Patio and the pictures that I've seen of the back terrace look completely adorable, complete with colourful lanterns. Unfortunately, my visit was in October and it wasn't quite patio weather anymore. I turned up on a Friday evening with one of my best girlfriends in tow and we were ready for the biggest Barbiecore night of our lives! Imagine our surprise when we discovered that Dolly's had been transformed into the "Black Lagoon" for the month of October in the spirit of Halloween. (I probably should have looked into this in advance but I was unaware!) I was expecting Cyndi Lauper and Aqua but instead I got Rob Zombie and Marilyn Manson. The whole restaurant was draped in the most spider webs that I've ever seen. There were giant spiders hanging from the ceiling and spooky skeletons in every corner. It was a vibe, that's for sure!! But certainly not the one that I had been anticipating. Bits of pink paint and sparkly chandeliers peeked through in some areas and the neon "Dolly's" sign on the wall allowed me to imagine what the Barbie dreamhouse-esque space normally looks like just a little bit. Otherwise, Dolly's was fully transformed into the moody Black Lagoon. I should've worn fishnets instead of glitter. The servers were all very friendly and we were quickly seated at a comfortable table along the hot pink velour banquette. Dolly's invites you to sip, snack, and stay in their minor-free glamorous escape. The house cocktails and mocktails are a major part of the experience (it is a cocktail bar after all) and I was excited to get a cute pink beverage into my hand! There was also a menu of Black Lagoon-themed cocktails that were all served in fun tiki-style vessels. This menu included themed foods as well. I personally had my eye on the Pink Palace Royale cocktail which I saw on the menu online. Made with a special collab gin with Strathcona Spirits and Licor 43 (one of my favourite liqueurs), this sounded like everything that I wanted in a cocktail and more! Other drinks had names like Dolly's Dreamhouse, Bubbilicious, and the house shot was called the Bend & Snap - exactly the sort of drinks that I had come for! However, I was sorely disappointed when the server told me that the drink I wanted was no longer on the menu. It seemed that I could only order a Halloween beverage. I fumbled to find anything that Elle Woods would approve of and settled on a mocktail called Pretty in Pink (Strawberry, cream of coconut, lime, soda, mint - $9.00) and the server suggested that the bar could add vanilla vodka to turn it into a proper cocktail. I agreed. Honestly, I was just relieved to get something pink onto the table! I enjoyed this icy-fresh cocktail a lot and it delivered most of what I had been hoping for. The sweetness of the strawberry and coconut was really fun! The lime and mint added a mojito flair. A very cute and well-composed beverage but I was sad that most of the girly drinks didn't seem to be available. When it comes to eats at Dolly's the food is what you would expect to see at a party, with the idea of sharing at the heart. I loved the idea of Dolly's Funhouse (which is an epic plate of nachos), and dishes like wings, tacos, and mac & cheese. However, the dish to order at Dolly's has gotta be the Girl Dinner (Truffle tots, chickie tendies, aji verde, aji rocoto, pineapple sweet & sour, Dolly's salad - $50.00 for two). It's a must-share so grab your girlies and prepare to chow down! They had me at tots. The Girl Dinner platter arrived looking extremely appetizing and somehow exactly what I wanted to be eating in a place that looked like this. The portion was exactly right for two people and I loved the pretty floral printed plates that we were given to dish our tots and tendies onto. As previously mentioned, I enjoy a tot. (I have a suspicion that Napoleon Dynamite really imprinted on me.) But truffle tots? Now that's just a home run! Topped with sea salt, truffle oil, and parmesan cheese, these golden potato nuggets were fried to perfection with a crispy outside and a soft and fluffy inside. I could have eaten them all. They were awesome to dunk into each of the sauces and when the rest of the food was gone we were still popping tots into our mouths. We couldn't even finish them all because the portion was so generous! The star of the meal were the chickie tendies; two giant chicken tenders, of which we each got our own. I loved this chicken! The batter was really flavourful and unique, and oh so crispy-crunchy. The chicken within was very tender and juicy, proving that an elevated chicke
