We came here for a dinner theater and again we weren't disappointed. The place was full and fun. And also made for people who want to be home by 10ish. The show was so funny and the owners are so funny and hospitable. We have always had a great time. Food is 100% better than any other dinner theater we have went to. Really you can't go wrong on the menu. I have had the vegatarian dish and it was excellent. I had the seafood dish and it was excellent. I have had the beef dish and it was excellent. The desserts a lovely. And the soup and salad to start are fresh and flavourful. I won't go into details on what we specifically ordered because the menu changes for each dinner theater. What I will say if you love beef go with whatever beef dish they are doing. Their beef is excellent. However I went with the seafood boulibase and it was good but it was a little skimpy on the seafood. That is probably the only slight complaint that I have had in all the years I have been going here. If you like dinner theaters come to this one. Worth every penny. read more

This is one of the best evenings out I've had in Edmonton, ever, and I've been here since 1986. I can't wait to book their rooftop patio for an event! But I digress... I went with a colleague to a Faculty event that was planned here. We parked in the lot across from the Stratchcona Farmer's Market, which is huge, safe, cheap (6 bucks on HotSpot for the evening), and a scant block away from this venue, with the short walk giving you time to see what's new in the area, and what's enduring (Varscona Theatre, thank the universe). Up a grand staircase, and you're in a small venue using every inch of space creatively. Want to sit away from the madding crowd to engage in some serious drinking and bar-watching? They've got you. Want to pretend you're in a 1920s cabaret with food safety and climate control of the this century's 20s era? They've got you. Want to watch live entertainment? They've really got you here, because this place is co-owned and co-operated by Jeff Halaby and Aimee Beaudoin, who've been part of the Edmonton entertainment scene for at least one of my lifetimes, long enough that to them 11:02 is not just something that happens every 12 hours. The main space where the stage is located (and what a funky little stage it is) featured what looked to be the exact right variety of table sizes for this particular evening's plans. My colleague and I were delighted to find a little table for two tucked away near the stage, close enough to feel risky for a comedy show, but far enough away from the ambient noise that we could eat and have good conversation at the same time. Each course of the meal was excellent. The plates are about as close to fine dining as you're going to get in a place where you can also expect one of your hosts to crack Lebanese hairdresser jokes. Those hosts, by the way, move among the crowd before the main show starts, first to ask if you're enjoying everything and later with microphones to ask stuff that will either make you sweat or laugh profusely. My colleague was driving and enjoyed a frozen slush mocktail, which looked delicious even to me as I was nose-deep in an Old Fashioned (well executed without being narcissistic) and rose sangria (way better than I could reasonably expect from rose sangria). Our server was perfect in every way, by the way -- this was a very busy evening for the service crew but the expertise among them was evident and I enjoyed seeing the co-hosts acknowledge them from the stage with authentic gratitude. The entertainment that night was from Edmonton's Comedy Festival, with headliner Monique Marvez. Four comics took their turns onstage, introduced by Jeff and Aimee, with lots of mutual respect evident among the artists, creating a really nice vibe for the evening. We were out the door shortly after 9 PM with our fascinators still intact. Next time I have an event to plan, I'm going straight to their website. But I hope it somehow ends up being the right size of event to book their rooftop patio with bottle service. Exquisite. read more

Good thing I just followed everyone else to find the right parking lot. Vibe is the owner. $6 for the eveno. Lots of room at 6pm Thursday and lots of other guests parked here. Staff were super friendly and performers actually came to see how everyone was. Very personalized show that includes audience (people with birthday/celebrating). Show included rap, top 40 hits. Soup 10/10. 1 bread roll each Salad 9/10. Loved the apple and nuts in it. Chicken was dry, gravy was very fake tasting, gnocchi was not tasty. Friend got the salmon and was happy with this. Their potato side tasted amazing. Chocolate mousse: whip cream in it was Super grainy. Mousse itself was fine. My 2nd time here, 1st was Mother's Day Drag Queen brunch and last night was Great Gatsby. Four of my group of 6 had never been there before. Recently saw the Pretty Woman show here as well as Burlesque and this is a Rave Review. The cast for the play was so good! I was so impressed by this small ensemble! We spoke with the server about staying for the next show and paying for tickets, that we'd even stand for it, and she told us no, it was sold out and we'd have to leave. We decided to shoot our shot with the owner and not only did she accommodate, was incredibly gracious and charming, but she had two bar stools taken from back of house to squeeze us in at the bar. Without much adieu, you fabulous business connoisseur! I cannot say enough about this Owner/Operator, Aimee. Thank you so much for the best night I had in so long, as it had been a very tough year with personal strife and Covid for me personally. What an absolutely fabulous experience my friends and I had here. We went for the amazing Drag Night Bingo featuring Gogo Fetch who is outstanding. Seriously one of the best nights out I've had this year! Service was so friendly and genuinely kind. It is clear all people working there are a team! The food was really great. I had the Beef Dip and loved my sandwich and rosemary fries. Admittedly I didn't love the jus that came with it but everything else was lovely. The burger my friend had was so tall and very good she said. Another friend also enjoyed his meal of pulled pork. Drinks were good. The basil lemonade was more lemonade than basil so not sure I would get that again. Wine was reasonably priced and enjoyed throughout the night. The atmosphere is very cool and so welcoming. The former O2's Spot has reopened just off whyte. This space is a staple in the area due to it's rooftop patio that overlooks the Stracona Market and Walterdale theatre. About 8pm on a Friday a friend and I were looking for a patio drinks and dinner. So we dropped in to check out the new owners. I was greeted on the first landing by a new hostess stand and was told to go right up to the patio. On the second set of stairs I noticed the floors had been redone. A second hostess was at the top of the who sat me and handed me menus. It was a nice evening for May, but a bit windy. The decor on the roof honestly hasn't changed since O2's. There are still lots of tables and couches for larger groups. The menu is different. Lots of fun drinks. I was happy to see smaller drinks (1oz) versions. I tried a strawberry lemonade to start. The food menu was interesting, too. Some vegan, and gluten free options. We were both happy with our food. It was tasty, and well presented. There were a lot of staff. As the night wore on, they were freezing in their little black dresses. We woulda stayed a bit longer, but as the wind picked up, we were also underdressed. They were having a show downstairs. That's were the bathrooms are located. So, we made our way past the first hostess stand to the washrooms. The first level has been redone to reflect the new theme. The bar is still in the back, but there's a stage along the entrance wall. The seating seems to be set up, so the tables have a good view of the stage. The decor is pleasant. I didn't want to block anyone's view to scope out the room, so I quickly went to the washroom. The washroom is quite nice. Totally redone. Classy! There was a $12 cover for the show. Not sure how that works. But, the patio was no cover to enjoy. I like the new atmosphere and menu. Will go back and visit, again! read more

I hate to write bad reviews, I really do. I can't let terrible service go unheard though as I'm sure the other customers in the room wouldn't either. Some people are too afraid to speak up but tonight, I did. I let the manager know how much of a shit job their main floor bartender did and his snarky attitude towards us the whole night. Their only saving grace was good food and an understanding manager who gave us a round of shots. Other than that, super unimpressed with the service, wait time and cleanliness of this restaurant. Spent the night at the Spotlight for a date with my GF. First thought was how chill and cool the vibe was. They had a hands free temperature check for Covid. The Hostess and wait staff were attentive and impeccable. Never had to wait for a drink or a request. We paid for the comedy show including the entree. We optioned for the extra soup each. She ordered the salmon and I ordered the prime rib. Both were perfectly cooked with excellent flavor and texture each. Portions were generous and we both took some home. The comedy was AMAZING. Not sure who books for the cabaret team but the owners are also the hosts and also hilarious. They did a great job bridging the 3 acts, with the final act being the longest and most entertaining. All told, we had near 4 hours of entertainment for 2 people for under a hundred bucks. You can't beat that value and I would 100% recommend this venue for anyone looking for a date night, girls/boys night or anything else. Check it out as soon as possible read more

Finally Edmonton has a venue that offers great entertainment with a cool vibe! The show Moolah Rouge was excellent! The actors drew in the crowd with the obvious love of their craft. The play was funny (the writers -and owners- have won awards for their comedic writing on other shows and it shows) with upbeat dancing and singing numbers performed by very talented singers. The drinks are damn good for reasonable prices and the 4 course meal was superbly executed! We were quite impressed as usually these types of dinner theatres are not known for the quality of their food, but Spotlight Cabaret really went the extra mile and provided a tasty meal along with their highly entertaining show! The servers are very personable and help make the night most enjoyable. The venue itself is really well put together and the attention to detail makes it a cool place to spend an evening! Enjoy great food, drinks a skyline view on this great patio- durning the Fringe-and even afterwards! It was another Great! FRINGY kind of night, taking in the fringe some friends decided to do the roof top patio, and after some drinks, we settled in on some soup which on this day was a not too spicy pork gumbo soup. It was very fresh and tasty, if your a fringe volunteer they also have food and drink specials- Just For You! We also ordered the Don Francesco linguine which for a couple extra bucks you can add mushrooms, prawns or chicken to. There was a lively crowd, with great service and music, the downtown edmonton skyline was our backdrop to a very good time. Come out and enjoy the food and drinks, get special pricing if you are a fringe volunteer, and hope to see you on the patio.
