Good service. We were wandering WEM and decided we should have a beer first. Service was quick when we sat ourselves down. Ended up ordering the haddock tacos. Big chunk of fish on each taco. They were alright, slightly bland. My friend had a burger and loved it. I always love when you can change your fries to tater tots. They were really good. Mediocre bar food with mediocre beer offerings in a mall. Enticing. We we seated promptly in the slightly dingy and chaotic 18+ bar area. Menus dumped on our table, we chose our snack of bar pretzles and beer and waited. And waited. Pretzles appeared, we ate em. Tough, warm, but not enough salt. Beer was good. Server seemed like she needed a bit of help, not sure if they were short staffed. Meh. read more

Awesome English food... it will surprise you for sure! Excellent and freshly made soups of the day and traditional English fare! Always enjoy the Fish & Chips or Shepard's Pie. Fabulous lineup of musicians, including doug stroud, Jimmy whiffen, and mark mcgarrigle etc... pair that with some awesome thin crust bbq chicken pizza and half price wine on a Wednesday (can't say if it's every Wednesday hut it is tonight) for an awesome mid-week break! If you want to get out for a bit of fun, whether you're staying in the west edmonton mall hotel or coming from somewhere local...lots of parking right outside. If the restaurant side is too busy on a Saturday during the day, try the pub side -- they both serve English pub grub and it's reasonably priced, pretty good, and often quieter when you choose the less busy half of this establishment. On this visit I had the mini yorkshires and they were really quite delicious! I also had some beer cheese. I don't often end up at this particular location due to my infrequent visits to the Mall, but it was a splendid lunch and there was ample variety for everyone in our group from salad to burgers to fish and chips and more! The menu was so ample that it was hard to choose precisely what we wanted to order. The biggest downside of this place is that it is rather dimly lit, but that contributes a bit to the atmosphere I think. read more

This mall location seems busy and very loud every time I walk by but I decided to eat here with a friend since it was early on a weekday night. I was surprised how quiet it was at 5:45 with only two others tables taken up. The tables are situated quite close together so if it was busy, there would be no privacy and other people's conversations would be heard. The specials of the day were posted on a board outside the door, it was buffalo chicken sandwich with fish chowder for $11 or the pork sandwich. We both had the chicken with soup. It was delicious and a great price. The soup had fish chunks and potatoes and was not too salty. I'm not sure if I would give this place 3 stars if it was packed and super loud. The left side looked like it was more for drinks and pool, the right side had more tables and chairs. read more

This is a typical Edmonton Pub. The downtown location of Sherlock Holmes Pub is better than this one though. The shepherd's pie is really good if it happens to be cooked all the way through the day you order it. I've gotten it frozen in the middle and, let's just say that it wasn't very tasty. The service is kind of lacking here but I find that with a lot of pubs in Edmonton. It's a nice looking place inside and out though. If you find yourself on Bourbon Street, I recommend Hudson's. read more

Got to a Sherlock a around 730pm on a Friday. We were easily able to get a table. Our server was fantastic - she answered questions, was personable, checked in on us, and kept us updated with when our food would be ready. She was not at fault for anything that could have been improved with our experience. Every time we have eaten there, the food has always been good. For the most part, this continued. The spinach dip was excellent. Soooo much cheese. My husband really enjoyed his burger. It was huge! My steak sandwich was cold which is why I dropped a star. I really don't like complaining so I didn't tell our server. I was also worried as our food took a long time to come out. The spinach dip took about 30 minutes and there were maybe 5 tables (not sure if the bar side was busier...). Between the slow and cold food, I took a couple of stars. The steak also didn't have a lot of flavour. I ended up taking it home so that I could add some fun to it and warm it up. They do have wonderful gravy! In the end, it is a place that I am sure we will go to again as it's never as busy as some of the other places on Bourbon. Hopefully the cooking time will be better and maybe skip the steak sandwich! read more

This was my first and last visit. The server was okay but the food was from frozen, over cooked and under seasoned. The bartender needs a book on how to make common cocktails. He needs to look up the recipe for a Long Island Iced Tea. Not really an uncommon drink. The entertainment was pretty good. It was Party Hog. read more

We have a winner for worst service of the year and it took me travelling to Edmonton to find it. Which is a surprise in a lot of ways. Anyway, we waited an hour and a half for our small order of food that never came. People were coming in, ordering, eating and leaving before we even heard tell of where our food might be. I finally walked over to the waitress and told her we were leaving. "No, no," she pleaded, "your order's up next. I promise." I begrudingly sat back down and waited five more minutes. She came out with a tray full of food. "Alright," she said, "Fish and chips and a side of nachos." "Not even close," I shot back. "Let's just all cut our losses. We are going to leave now. You can cover the cost of the drinks." She just put her head down. She knew it was over and that she won the award for worst service of the year. I am curious as to where our order ended up though. Maybe they shot it over to England where the real Sherlock Holmes Pub is. Those Brits never had a problem with service. At that one, you order from the barkeep then pick up your own damn food when it's ready. Perhaps this is the system that needs to be adopted here..... read more

I'm not sure if it was because it was a Saturday night and an Oilers game was on, but I'm not sure if I've ever wanted to not even eat my food- especially when it's just veggies and hummus... It was quite busy so we sat at the bar. The bartender was our server so I could understand why they might be preoccupied. My boyfriend ordered a Caesar- spicy.. With one shake a Tabasco, it was far from spicy and the glass was only 3/4 full. I ordered a hummus and tzatziki plate and he ordered fish and chips. The food came really quick- probably less than 10 min which I guess isn't a surprise since it was deep fried and low prep food. But it made us both a little leery of the food quality. We ordered gravy with our fries and it didn't come out with the meal. The fries were sparse and it was questionable as to whether the fish was cooked fully. The veggie plate was full but for the most part the dips were flavourless. I don't think I would go back her for anything but drinks. read more

I go to Sherlock Holmes most Saturday nights and sometimes on Tuesday nights as well for wing night and to possibly catch an Oilers game. I have been going there for about 10 years, have great service 95% of the time and now they also have great food!! The kitchen has recently improved almost everything on the menu. I had their new burger and fries last night and I was super impressed. The new burger patties they use are really tasty and juicy, it was one of the best burgers I have ever had. The fries are new now too and again I really enjoyed them, kinda reminded me of Arbys curly fries but they were straight. I ordered gravy for the fries but they were so good it wasn't needed. I am told they have new higher quality steaks now and I can't wait to try them. read more

I honestly do not know how this can be considered a British pub! The food is abismal and the service is worse. The waitstaff couldn't understand what we asked for ...despite us being BRITISH! If you can't understand a British accent don't consider yourself a British pub! They also dont serve 1/2 pints......which ALL good British pubs do, and even if you don't serve them please dont look at me like I have 5 heads for asking for one and rudely reply "Why don't you want a full pint?!?" I wouldn't go here again or recommend it to anyone else! read more

The Sherlock Holmes Pub downtown is my haunt (I think over the last year or so I've racked up about 50 check-ins there). I love the concept, and the English pub atmosphere is great. West Edmonton Mall Sherlock Holmes Pub doesn't have it together quite as nicely as its downtown brother. The service at the Mall location is much more spotty. I usually end up waiting for something - for my order to be taken, to be filled, for drink top-ups, etc.. The space could use a refresh. I like the casual pub style, but this location reads as dingy and dark, not charming and cozy. Throw a little interior improvement dough at this place, guys! The food is standard pub fare, sharing many of the menu items as the other Sherlocks locations, although for some reason it doesn't come out as well-prepared, often greasier and sloppier. All this said, I still like coming here for a pitstop during a long shopping trip, or before a movie. The beer is cold and tucked away at the far end of Bourbon Street, Sherlock Holmes Pub can be a great place to duck out of the West Edmonton Mall crazy for a beverage. read more

I've been going to Sherlock Holmes Pub for many years and I've noticed they've amped up their menu! I just ordered the Taco Salad and my husband had the Chicken Mushroom Swiss Burger with a side of soup for lunch, and the food was so amazing we actually went back later in the day for dinner! We shared spring rolls and chicken strips with fries and once again, it was so delicious! I love listening to the one man band and always have such an amazing time! We've yet to have bad service - the servers are always on it and working their butts off! Definitely my first choice for a night out! read more

I've been here on a couple occasions before and although it is labeled as a pub, it turns into quite the rowdy place on weekend nights. The last time I went here was for a birthday party. We showed up a little early to eat and get a spot to sit. My boyfriend and I shared the burger and it was super juicy and yummy. Our waitress was pretty on top of things and our drinks did not easily go dry. When everyone else showed up, the party really started. The place got really loud and there was a lot of dancing around and screaming. Maybe it was just our friends, and this place doesn't get crazy, but that night, I was overwhelmed. The prices here are decent, the staff are nice and the location is good (right on bourbon street in WEM). I'll go back for sure. read more

Great pub to sit and have a drink at. Reasonably priced and good amount of food. I started with the pretzel and Gouda cheese dipping sauce, it was fantastic. The pizza was also delicious. I've been a few times now and will be going back a few more times! read more

A pub I go to every now and then. Its pretty busy but the staff are still vigilant. It can be loud if thats your thing. I do enjoy their live music though! The beer. It tastes funny and often thats why I end up going to other areas of bourbon street to get my drink on. The food is the usual. Its tasty! I would go for the rowdy atmosphere but generally I check to see if my other choices are busy first. Honestly, theres a Sherlocks down town thats much better. read more

Not impressed. Service was good, but nothing else was good. The food was lackluster at best, and the prices were too high. Plus, I ordered what was called a "steak sandwich," but it wasn't a sandwich, it was a steak with a piece of Pepperidge Farm Texas toast on the side, which I found strange. Other people in my party ordered sandwiches and were given a sandwich, not sure why the steak sandwich wasn't a sandwich. The fact the kids eat free and our server was nice accounted for a star a piece. No stars were given for the price of food. read more

We went here for dinner while in the mall, and overall it wasn't so great. I think if I was just coming here for a drink it wouldn't be so bad, but the waitresses were nowhere to be found, the tables were dirty and the food was pretty dire. The waitress we had was pretty short with us too. The place was dark and dingy, with music that was kinda loud. If you want to go to a bar with friends, it might be nice but I would not recommend eating here. read more

I politely asked if me and my friend could order when he had a moment and he was totally rude about it, like god forbid I ask to order something. Everybody else was super nice and the one bartender gave me a bunch of waters when I told him I was driving home so I appreciated that. What a shit hole on a recent trip to Edmonton we had the terrible & unfortunate experience of happening upon this place. We went for lunch only to be ignored because the boxing posters they were putting up were way more important than seating us. As we stood there just inches from the staff who just stared at us and ignored us. BTW we would have been the only two customers in their restaurant bar at that time. Great entertainment, good servers.....on large event nights though, they have no problem saying 1 person had 16 doubles...seem right to anyone?.......but the manager has no problem calling security to back up himself....wouldn't 16 doubles to one persons indicate over serving???? In a word, NO. In fact, HELL NO. I came here for lunch with a girlfriend about 3 weeks ago. Our server was pleasant enough, but an obvious ditz who was hired for her ability to fill out her top and skirt as opposed to her skill in using that lump called a "brain" located 3 feet above her butt. We ordered Fish and Chips and Bangers and Mash, as it was our first time in an (allegedly) English pub, those were "safe bets". The Bangers and Mash: mashed potatoes had the consistency of play-doh, the sausage was flavorless, the yorkshire pudding was tough, the gravy was obviously a packaged product. The fish and chips had black pepper in the "batter", a LOT of black pepper, which was weird, and it was almost as if the fish were breaded in a donut. Yuck. Fish Donuts! This meal was flat-out gross. When a group of three was seated near us, we considered leaning over and telling them to run, don't order! We only told our server about the mashed potatoes... because she nodded and smiled blankly and then... disappeared. In fact, we ended up having to pay the bartender for our lunch ticket because the waitress never came back. Ya. We won't be back either. How in the hell do you screw up fish and chips!?! read more

Beautiful waitresses, cold beer, great service. They had live entertainment when we were there last night (Saturday). Interactive TV feed that shows tagged Instagram photos from current and previous guests. In-house trivia game on the TV too. I have to mention that they also give back to great causes - currently if you buy a particular in-house brew, they donate a portion of the proceeds to ovarian cancer research. Why not do some good while killing some brain cells right! read more

Haven't been to Sherlocks in the mall for years. I've been missing out! Had the Butter Chicken and it was great the gf had the Veggie Burger which she thought was delish! I have always loved Sherlocks and have a huge history of spending lots of time at the one on Rice Howard Way. I never used to go to this location, but this week I was in the mall with my toddler, doing some shopping alone and I wanted to treat myself. Normally, going to a restaurant alone is a bit daunting with a baby, but I had the most positive experience here. As it's self-seating, I was able to keep my stroller with me and I didn't have to worry about moving all my shopping bags and valuables, or having them out of sight. The service was fast and the food was great. The TV's and casual atmosphere with other families kept my son well entertained and it was a great mommy break. I am quite looking forward to coming again and hope to bring my husband next time. You wouldn't think of it as a family-friendly restaurant, but with the new owner being more accommodating to children, this place will definitely see more business from our family. read more

Super Awesome Pub! Me and my girlfriend are new to Edmonton, so of course we had to check out west ed mall, stumbled upon Sherlocks and have been addicted ever since. We sat at the bar and the bartender was so funny and nice! we ordered a couple appy's and to this day, hands down best wings ive ever had.....they were a little pricey for wings but sooo worth it. overall, food was great, drinks were cold and service was top notch Highly recommend this place! read more

Went there with some friends and the food was great. A bit noisy for my liking, but what can I expect in a pub. I had the bangers and mash, which was very good. Also had the prime rib yorkshire puddings for an appetizer, which was good as well. Our waitress offered great service without being overly pushy. They also have a great selection of draft beer, which is a plus. read more

You just can`t beat this pub for looks,it totally has a British flair and nice decorations all over,many have signed dollar bills and stapled them to the walls and ceilling same with some coasters,the walls are telling many stories,many had fun drinking there,the problem is with the vlt`s side,it seems to attrack low class welfare type of addicts drinking all but one single beer and just gamble for hours,they should remove the machines and that will clean up the place.They have 1/2 price deal menus on pub`s favorites like wings and nachos from 4 pm on,the main menu has the standard items like sheppard pie and burgers witch are good but nothing that would makes you want to go to the pub for the food only,they need to improve on qualityThe music is very loud,its hard to talk specially when the place get packed,the juke box is always very busy maybe because the stuff they play is always louder then the tunes you picked and not that great depending who runs the bar that day.The 2 waitresses we had were super nice,very friendly and modestly dressed,nothing like the provocative Tilted Kilt girls.Live music competes with the juke box and the hockey game if you seat on the vlt`s side,it gets so annoying so you better to move on the stage side when the guitar player shows up.So overall,good place to drink and party,ok for food and to watch the game but look out for rowdies,shady charaters and the vlt`s low class addicts. read more
