We were so looking forward to the Thirsty Camel opening up and in the hope that it would become another of our locals. Naturally, as it's a new venue there was a buzz in the first week of opening of it being full in the evenings. We ventured out to Thirsty Camel just before the Christmas break for lunch; the venue is small. The food is basic pub food and unfortunately the waitresses don't have that usual welcome and I love my job vibrance. We ordered white wine spritzers and the glasses that they served them in appear to have just been washed as they was still dripping from water. The menu is not that exciting nothing new to challenge the Canadian taste buds, so we went with the safe option ordering chicken wings and poutine, my favorite, and the ordered chicken quesadillas. In short, my wings will undercooked i e too Pink with a little blood near the bone. My poutine, the fries are too thin so they over absorbed the gravy that made them more like mashed potatoes and it came served lukewarm so the curds did not melt. The waitresses did accommodate by providing me with a new poutine but by the time that that had arrived it wasn't enjoyable as I was already halfway through my wings when I had to stop eating those realising how uncooked they were. So at this point I didn't want to complain again. The wife's quesadillas we're okay those are her words, would she order them again I asked, the reply was no and she also said she would not be in a hurry to come back to Thirsty Camel for lunch!

This is a typical Edmonton blue-collar pub: average beer selection, average food. Akin to the Newcastle Pub but less skeezy now that the new mgmt isn't just using it as a front. Not much ambience, warehousey feel, service efficient but impersonal. A safe bet, free UFC. I might come back for that, but truly not much else. Original 16 Copper on tap was a nice touch.

We liked it and if we lived closer would be regulars. Hood wings. Friendly service. Good beer selection.

Great vibe with all the things a neighbourhood pub should have - great servers, decent food, Guinness, Oilers on TV, and music bingo.

We came here on a Sunday with 2 baseball teams and our server, Angel, was great with the unexpected rush. Great service.

We were greeted right away without an option of a menu for a drink. I asked for a menu and got one but then our server didn't return for quite a while. Same thing when we wanted a second round. It was pretty busy, but no one checked up on us or seemed to help our server out. We did see a few others working with her but not checking tables. We shared their most popular pizza it was pretty good. Would recommend their food! Prices are great. Atmosphere was great. I'd come back again.

We almost got up and left. Then it took a while for the food to come out even though it appeared like we were the only ones eating. Then we had to go up and ask for the bill and pay because no one was visible. Not impressed at all. It is cute inside and was nicely decorated for Christmas. Food itself was fine. I had the beef dip. They were skimpier on the meat then previously. The fries and the dip were really tasty. My husband had the chicken sandwich It was tasty but the patty seemed a little small. We are not sure if we hit a bad afternoon but we will give it another shot sometime.

Wow, what a sweet little place this is! We had intended to do something more elaborate (like…read moretravel) for our 35th anniversary, but we have a sick pet and then my husband was ill for a few days, so we ended up staying close to home. I had read some reviews about this place and wanted to check it out. Husband had the steak sandwich and a root beer as the DD; I had some buffalo wings and one of their smoked Old Fashioneds, the one with the moonshine called the Sherlock. This was one of the best Old Fashioneds I've ever had. Super smooth and delicate flavour; the smoke part was interesting but really not the critical piece for me. The wings were excellent and came with a not very flavourful ranch dressing and a few carrot sticks. Still, I would definitely go back for these wings. Husband had added=cost gravy for his fries and mushrooms for the steak. He remarked that he liked the fried onion strings on top. I had a couple of the fries and they were the coated type that I think should be banned forever, but he was fine with them. The gravy was reasonable without being memorable. We had the sticky toffee dessert to share and the server was kind enough to take a photo for us to remember the special day. The decor overall is pleasant resto pub style with seating arranged to allow for private conversation. The staff all seem focused and professional in their work. Overall, agree with all the positive reviews and I think it might be worthwhile to return and explore more of the menu.
