We stopped by Sherlock Holmes Pub for brunch on a Saturday during St. Patrick's Day weekend, and it was a great experience. It wasn't too busy around noon, and our server was super friendly, welcoming, and gave us excellent service right from the start. They offered a brunch menu that runs until 2 PM, which was a nice surprise. I tried the Eggs Benedict Yorkshire--a unique twist with scrambled eggs and a cheesy-style hollandaise. It was rich, flavorful, and surprisingly good. My wife had the Eggs and Bangers, and she especially loved the potatoes that came with it. We also ordered a couple of Caesars, which were perfectly mixed and really hit the spot. Overall, we had a great time. Cozy atmosphere, good food, great drinks, and fantastic service. I'd definitely come back again--especially in the evening when I imagine the place really comes alive!

Went on Tuesday. 1/2 off on wings, dry rub ribs and gochujang chicken thighs. Marinated chicken thighs with sarrachi mayo sauce. I ordered the ribs , which was overly over cooked DRY....chicken thigh gochujang were decent. I would have ditched the dry ribs and order the wings next time. Just saying.... My server was very nice and helpful.

Classic old school pub here. Great dive atmosphere for any time of day. Plenty of beer options to choose from and some good deals. Food is stick to your ribs tasty too. I had a shepherds pie and a buffalo chicken Cesar wrap another day. Shepherds pie was delicious, I'm a fat boy and coated it with some gravy to plus it up and it was choice. Buffalo wrap wasn't Buffalo-y enough for me but it was still tasty. Definitely stop in for a beer and meal. Can't really go wrong with either. Not sure about parking cause I was walking around town. Plenty of space and tables or you can belly up to the bar. They have a few TVs for sports as well.

Came here after dining at the Share restaurant inside The Westin Edmonton. This place has a great vibe to grab a pint. It definitely reminded me of the pub in London called Sherlock Holmes, which is a favorite of mine! I strolled around inside to check out the memorabilia and ended up sitting at the bar. The patio was full since it was a beautiful day outside. So, after making small talk with the bartender and settling the bill, I was off to check out the rest of the town. This is a great spot to come with friends, watch a game and hangout.

nachos plentiful for the veggies, a little skimpy on the cheese

Went for patio dining when the weather was decent. They have a nice patio on a fairly quiet street, so it was pleasant. Or server was prompt and friendly. Basic British pub food. Nothing too exotic but I think most people will find something they like. We were feeling snackish so we ordered the buffalo cauliflower and the nachos that were a special. Food came in a timely manner. The cauliflower was AMAZING. Perfectly cooked, well spiced and the coconut chutney was an good pairing. I love buffalo cauliflower and order it often, this was probably my favourite in the city. The nachos were okay, but they were skimpy on the cheese (see photo). I did like that the toppings of veggies were fresh and plentiful. I also had a beer which paired well with the food. I would come back...especially for the cauliflower and the welcoming atmosphere.

Firecracker burger and poutine, and a cocktail

We ate on the patio on a nice summer evening. I had the firecracker burger with a side of poutine (with vegan gravy) and my wife had the Mac & cheese. We both also got cocktails (I think it was called the Cape Codder?). Everything was really tasty and the service was great. It's located in a lively area so the patio is good for people watching and there was live music playing inside too. Would definitely come back and they have great specials every night

Probably the best i had in the city. The Next Act is non descript with the decor. It does have a nice patio if you are able to snag a spot. Our server was prompt and attentive. Food came out quickly despite the full restaurant. This time I tried The Pyro with habanero cream cheese, bacon, crispy onions, jalapeños, and chipotle mayo. Hubby ordered The Critic - smoked cheddar, bacon, caramelized onions, and bbq sauce Our friend ordered The Scout - jack cheese, chimichurri, crispy onions, avocado, and roasted garlic mayo We all chose the fries as a side. It was delicous. And this time the fries were great and not soggy. My burger was delicious. If you like heat, this one is for you. Both other people at the table enjoyed their burger as well. I saw someone have the mac and cheese, and that looked delicous. However I don't think I can skip the burger and order something else.

We were luck to slide through the front door 15 minutes before the kitchen closed for the night and order a burger to go. We got the Critic with a side of poutine and scurried back to our hotel room with our secured goods. The burger was amazing and exactly what we needed. The patty was substantial with a great crust against the sweetness of the caramelized onions, all between two pillowy soft buns. The burger was also huge, as it was double the size of what you would get an the golden arches. We got back fast enough that the poutine fries were still crunchy with a curds melted into the thick gravy. So happy that The Next Act was open at our moment of need. Forever grateful.

We almost got up and left. Then it took a while for the food to come out even though it appeared like we were the only ones eating. Then we had to go up and ask for the bill and pay because no one was visible. Not impressed at all. It is cute inside and was nicely decorated for Christmas. Food itself was fine. I had the beef dip. They were skimpier on the meat then previously. The fries and the dip were really tasty. My husband had the chicken sandwich It was tasty but the patty seemed a little small. I had read some reviews about this place and wanted to check it out. Husband had the steak sandwich and a root beer as the DD; I had some buffalo wings and one of their smoked Old Fashioneds, the one with the moonshine called the Sherlock. This was one of the best Old Fashioneds I've ever had. Super smooth and delicate flavour; the smoke part was interesting but really not the critical piece for me. The wings were excellent and came with a not very flavourful ranch dressing and a few carrot sticks. Still, I would definitely go back for these wings. Husband had added=cost gravy for his fries and mushrooms for the steak. He remarked that he liked the fried onion strings on top. I had a couple of the fries and they were the coated type that I think should be banned forever, but he was fine with them. The gravy was reasonable without being memorable. We had the sticky toffee dessert to share and the server was kind enough to take a photo for us to remember the special day. The decor overall is pleasant resto pub style with seating arranged to allow for private conversation. The staff all seem focused and professional in their work. Overall, agree with all the positive reviews and I think it might be worthwhile to return and explore more of the menu.
