Seated us quickly and Jordan provided great service. We are traveling and craved veggies and not fried protein. Got the poke bowl and seared tuna salad. They were both a little spicy and delicious. Only downside is the seared tuna had some crunchy bits that were like chewing on pebbles. Luckily my teeth are intact. It made me laugh that you can pay by QR code on the bill but the waitress didn't know that. We all can learn something new!

Food was crappy. Service was indifferent. I ordered the most expensive menu item steak - totally terrible. Steak was tiny. Stringy. The smashed potatoes were flavourless. No one asked us how it was. Crap. The whole thing was crap. The only thing that was good was the kale salad that came with it. The bread was okay too. Not sure what else to say about this place but to avoid it if you want a quality of food. For 32 bucks I should have a tiny stringy piece of steak that I have to chew and chew and chew. Won't be back

A group of five of us came in for a between meeting beer. It was 4:30pm on a Friday and was already busy. We sat inside because it was a 45 minute wait for the patio. We stayed for two drinks and the service was great. A little disappointed that my first two cider choices were out of stock but I managed to survive. A great meeting spot with a very large selection of craft beers. https://www.craftbeermarket.ca/menu/#drink

3.5 - This place was on a recommended list for things to do in Edmonton so we tried out for lunch. We got a flight (6 samples) of local beers and shared some apps. Food was good, beer was fine. Was it the best food I've ever had? No but it was satisfactory. Here's the negative: the bathrooms are downstairs. There isn't an elevator nor another bathroom upstairs (that I saw). Anyone with a disability could have trouble going down the stairs to the bathroom and that isn't ok. If I'm mistaken, I apologize.

I heard The West Edmonton mall was the destination place to go here, can Craft Beer Market be added to that list? Huge, beautiful, Trendy place with tons of draft beer and friendly staff. The food was good, recognizable and tasty. The server was also honest about what NOT to get.

Benny bowl at Craft. Was alright. Needed more hollandaise sauce.

Came here for a Sunday brunch as I have a downtown dining pass through Explore Edmonton which had a 2 4 1 brunch coupon. They got plenty of beer selections that's for sure and the decor is super comfy. Service is excellent! We got the Benny Bowl. It was not bad. Could have used more hollandaise though. I think it's a take on a poutine so more sauce here would be warranted.

My husband and I came here for our last date night before the lockdown and we came because of the Miracle event. Miracle is a pop-up Christmas theme event. The cocktails were good, the ambiance was amazing, the music was spot on, the lights were sparking, and the Christmas was flowing! I absolutely loved this as I am a Christmas fanatic lol The food was regular pub food but the cauliflower was AMAZING. And the beer and beer salt fries were delicious.

The newly renovated place. Looking awesome.

You Just slip out the back, Jack Make a new plan, Stan You don't need to be coy, Roy There must be fifty ways To leave your lover Paul Simon had a very catchy song about the 50 ways to leave your lover. Well Edmonton's CRAFT Beer Market does that song one better by describing the 100 ways you can leave your thirst behind at their gigantic bar/restaurant. You see, they have 100 beers on tap! They bill themselves as "Canada's Largest Selection of Draft Beer" and who can argue with that? Their beer list is meticulously divided into genres of beer - Ales, Pub Cream Ales, Scottish Ales, Saisons, Blonde & Kölsch Ales, Amber & Red Ales, Black & Brown Ales, Pale Ales, India Ales, Strong Ales / Trappist, Stouts & Porters, Light Lagers, Pale Lagers, Pilsners, Session Ales, Gluten-Free, Fruit & Specialties, Sour Ales & Lambics, Ciders, and over a dozen rotating locals. They have super sweet Hoppy Hours (Monday to Friday from 3-6pm, Sunday to Thursday 9pm - close, and all say Sunday) with bargains like $4 Local Drafts, $4 House Wines, $4 Highballs, $3 Beer Fries, $3 Fish Tacos and $3 Brisket Sliders. I had one of those Hoppy Hour Specials and for $4 it was a helluva buy - a Wood Buffalo Babe Blueberry Vanilla Ale described as a "landmark beer for the new country frontier. This is a drinkable golden ale with local blueberries and hints of vanilla, the perfect beer for a new generation of drinkers". At 4.5% ABV, it was pretty sneaky, but two of them did the trick. For dinner, we both chose from the bowl portion of the menu - a $16.50 House Made Bolognese "Naturally raised beef and pork simmered with tomatoes and herbs served on a bed of garganelli pasta finished with Grana Padano" and a $19.00 Ahi Poke Bowl - "sashimi grade ahi tuna with cucumber, pickled carrots, avocado chunks, seaweed, fresh ginger and togarashi aioli all stacked on top of steamed rice and sesame seeds". My Ahi was delicious- a generous portion of sashimi with fresh vegetables and rice. One of the reasons we enjoyed our meal so much was our delightful server Lindsay, who was an informative wealth of knowledge about the beer list, the Happy Hour details, and the dessert options. She was downright evangelical in her praises for the Butterscotch Budino (Rich creamy Italian style pudding topped with crispy rice wafers and shaved chocolate for $9} that we had to try it. Lindsay was right on the money, the dish was so delicious and the rice wafers dipped in the pudding could have been a controlled substance. Combining the beer choices, the nice Happy Hour, the large food menu, and great service from Lindsay, made this a wonderfully enjoyable dinner.

Half a Mediterranean salad and the Baja fish tacos appetizer.

A great place to watch a game or to have a meal. We dropped by Sunday afternoon for a bite and was seated at a table near the bar for lunch. The service was prompt and our waitress was very nice, checking in periodically to make sure we had everything. I shared a Mediterranean salad and the Baja tacos (FYI the baja taco appetizer and main is the same except that the main comes with a side) with a local flight of beer to wash it all down. They were nice enough to split the salad onto two plates for us, even without us asking! The salad was filling and hearty, but I noticed that there was only one piece of roasted cauliflower on each plate.... which was sad because I was looking forward to it. I liked the spice blend on the fish for the tacos, which made the otherwise simple taco more interesting. If you are visiting, I would recommend the local beer flight! A simple way to try out some of the local brews.

Excellent selection of craft beers and solid menu of pub grub. Grilled chicken sandwich was very tasty. Service courteous if a little slow.

We had intended to do something more elaborate (like…read moretravel) for our 35th anniversary, but we have a sick pet and then my husband was ill for a few days, so we ended up staying close to home. I had read some reviews about this place and wanted to check it out. Husband had the steak sandwich and a root beer as the DD; I had some buffalo wings and one of their smoked Old Fashioneds, the one with the moonshine called the Sherlock. This was one of the best Old Fashioneds I've ever had. Super smooth and delicate flavour; the smoke part was interesting but really not the critical piece for me. The wings were excellent and came with a not very flavourful ranch dressing and a few carrot sticks. Still, I would definitely go back for these wings. Husband had added=cost gravy for his fries and mushrooms for the steak. He remarked that he liked the fried onion strings on top. I had a couple of the fries and they were the coated type that I think should be banned forever, but he was fine with them. The gravy was reasonable without being memorable. We had the sticky toffee dessert to share and the server was kind enough to take a photo for us to remember the special day. The decor overall is pleasant resto pub style with seating arranged to allow for private conversation. The staff all seem focused and professional in their work. Overall, agree with all the positive reviews and I think it might be worthwhile to return and explore more of the menu.

Birch & Bear offers good beer, but average and overpriced pizza (by the pie or by the slice). Feels like this place is still in beta testing mode, having opened fairly recently in the space formerly occupied by the distinctly haughty and thus misplaced Fleisch. The neighbourhood has been looking forward to finally having a down-to-earth, cool date night spot to occupy this scenic location across from the discount gas station. My spouse and I have been twice, once for weekday lunch and once for Saturday supper. Plenty of local beer to choose from, just cans, but that's OK. Edmonton has a fabulous craft beer scene, and several brewers are represented including the now ubiquitous Sea Change. We've tried two pizzas, first the soppressata and pesto, then the capicola and sambal pineapple. The first pizza was not bad, but despite the pesto not being overwhelming, the meat flavour was surprisingly muted. The second pizza was just bland, the pineapple had little fruit flavour nevermind sambal. Very disappointing - not a ham & pineapple fail, that's unCanadian! It was a bit better the next day eaten cold for breakfast, but we still would not order it again. I feel part of the problem is the cheese, perhaps it is not good quality. Even though this style of pizza is not overwhelmed with cheese, which is great, the cheese is simply there, not adding much flavour, and honestly it just dulls out everything else. Why are the flavours so lacklustre? I can only assume the ingredients are as well, because it's made fresh and with obvious care right in front of you. What a shame! Perhaps the "Birch" (vegetarian) pizza offerings are better, because the flavour combos sound amazing. Others reviewers have dislike for the crust. Again it is not particularly flavourful, but it is thin, hand tossed and cooked nicely so that it is soft without being soggy but solid enough to hold up well. I like it fine, but my spouse was not terribly enthused, it's just "OK" to him. I look forward to trying some other things, like their salads. They also offer Yelo'd ice cream by the scoop. With a high school nearby, this place should have a license to print money. A small pack of students stopped by for a slice and a scoop during our lunch hour visit. We had the same server both visits, and she was attentive and efficient without being imposing or interrupting at bad times. She was also dressed sports casual, awesome, I hate getting an unwanted side order of tits with my beer. It's not a sports pub, there's no TVs, and no dafties in skimpy outfits pretending to flirt with old dudes. How refreshing! On the Saturday night, they were a bit overstaffed/training newbies, and I got to watch for some time as two young men (prep cook and dishwasher) horsed around, pulled off each others hairnets, and took selfies. Noobs - everyone knows this happens, but you have an open kitchen dummies! This is a neighbourhood full of cranky old white people, that kind of display is not going to go over well. Harrumph! As an aside, I gotta say I am kinda over the cartoon art in these YEG local beer/pizza/burger/ramen joints. It's getting Fritz the Cat level creepy, and we ain't paying kiddie prices here! Anyhow, I'm keeping my hopes up, will visit again, but so far it's only 3 stars for the newest branch of B&B. Maybe lunch time is the best time to visit.
