Decent seafood for land locked Alberta. There is a pretty diverse menu and lots of options to choose from. Our server was friendly. I can't say that I found the atmosphere was amazing, however we managed to get a table on a busy Sunday night. The cheddar biscuits are always a fun starter. My friend had the steak and shrimp. She enjoyed it. I had the choose two option - I chose the seared scallops, and the Walt's favourite shrimp. I chose rice as a side and added on the fire cracker broccoli. It was hit an miss. Seared scallops were fresh, however a bit undercooked. However, for scallops I would choose undercooked to overcooked anytime. The Walt's favourite shrimp was average. Simply a battered shrimp. Nothing fantastic, however it tasted fresh as well. Rice was really well cooked but not enough of it. Really disappointed with the broccoli for an extra 3 bucks I expected a lot better tasting stuff than what I received. It was blackened waaay too much. This was my friends pick. Not sure if I would go here again. read more

I will admit that I'm writing this while oh so full of delicious crab. Having been to this locations a couple of times over the past decade, the most recent visit being today, I can definitely say that this is a good restaurant to go to while hungry -- surely your meal will fill you up! All of the adult meals come with salad and often come with a side of your choice. But the majority of the meals are seafood focused. There is a children's menu with smaller portions, less-seafood heavy options, colouring and crayons. You can get a booster seat for a child as well. Fortunately or unfortunately for our group, the littlest one most enjoys eating the food from the rest of our plates and adores shrimp, crab, and all the other options that the adults ate rather than needing a more child-focused option. He did enjoy drawing on the menu with crayons and the child-sized smoothie complete with take-home cup was much appreciated. I tried two different kinds of crab, two different shrimp preparations, lobster, rice and broccoli on this trip, and also got to drink some delicious root beer and have a wonderful lava cookie dessert. The staff even sang to me "happy birthday" and I blew out a candle in my dessert. Not bad overall though I'm sure this gets tedious for the restaurant staff considering how often they sang throughout the evening. Our server seemed run off her feet she was so busy! But we got decent service if it was a bit slow that was understandable given just how busy the restaurant was for a Thursday evening! Perhaps my only complaint would be just how salty everything is. This cannot be healthy on any level to be consuming this much sodium! Fortunately Red Lobster is only a sometimes meal. I doubt I'll ever come frequently due to the fact that it's not the most healthy option and the fact that I feel like I overdose on seafood everytime I'm here, but it's rather delicious as an occasional treat! Be aware that coupons sometimes arrive in junkmail and those are pretty useful! read more

Always have loved red lobster and have never had an issue anywhere. but tonight was just bad. started with an hour wait (as to be expected with a busy good restaurant) our waitress was nice enough and a working student, but was just SO slow and we saw her about twice and every time we asked for something we never got it and had to ask her a second or a third time to get it. the salads upfront we ordered, did not come. the plates we had been given for our buns were just all coated in old gunk/ food the food portions shave most defiantly gotten smaller over the years, and the food quality went down quite a bit. the food wasn't terrible but it was sad. our drinks took 23 minutes to come to us. all around my biggest complaint is it was extremely dirty just really there is no excuse for. read more

Came here with a few friends on a very busy Friday night, it was only 5 p.m. and the line was out the door. Luckily we managed to get a table so we didn't have to stand and wait. Although it was jam packed, there were lots of staff working so service was excellent. Our waitress came right away to take our drink order. The alcoholic beverages all looked delicious, I thought $8.29 was a little high for a cocktail but I splurged and had the berry mango daiquiri. If you love mangos then get this one. It was like melted mango ice cream with some crushed strawberries. My friends had the sunset passion colada and strawberry daiquiri and they both liked it. The strawberry lemonade was also good and was refilled free. Once we ordered our food, the cheese biscuits arrived nice and warm. You don't need butter or anything and they aren't overly greasy. All of us had the caesar salad which is my favorite at this restaurant except one friend had the england clam chowder. She really liked it since it was just clams and potatoes, no extra stuff. I usually come to Red Lobster at least once a year so I am familiar with their menu. I noticed that they still had the $19.95 4-course meal special. You get the biscuits, a choice of a soup, a salad, an entree and a dessert from a selection listed inside the menu. This is a very good deal. One of my friends had the Bar Harbour Lobster bake for $29.99. I have never seen this dish before. She got two lobster tails, shrimp, scallops and mussels all on top of linguine and she couldn't finish the pasta. Everything tasted good except a bit too salty. We were all too full for dessert and took home leftovers. When we left, there were still people waiting for a table at the door. Guess everyone loves Red Lobster! read more

Amazing food I had the seasfers feast it was amazing I loved it the shrimp was amazing the crab and lobster immaculate it was great it is a big chain restaurant but the atmosphere amazing it was my birthday and the whole staff came and sang happy birthday and gave the table free desserts. read more

First time at Red Lobster; weird that I have lived in Edmonton for 40 years - guess this is because I prefer Chinese food. Yet my wife decided to treat me with Seafood for my birthday... Service was great; our server should be mentioned yet I never took his name. Scallops were done perfectly; the shrimp was shrimp - no complaints. The steak was cooked exactly as I requested; and I stole some of my wife's salmon which tasted great. Overall, a very enjoyable evening! read more

Just had a very underwhelming lunch at this red lobster. Came here because the Plive Garden across the parking lot was busy. Definitely a mistake. My fish was bland with little seasoning, the fries were greasy and soft and the coleslaw was very bland. Also had Calamari which was chewy and a very small app. for 2 people, even the grenn beans with the Calamari were chewy and without much flavor. Save yourself a not so good meal and go to the Olive Garden across the parking lot. read more

My boyfriend and I went for date night, and it was fantastic! What made the night so great was our server Alfredo. He was super attentive and really quick to fill drinks. You could tell he really cared. Food was great too! read more

Disappointed with Red Lobster. Service was good but they've increased their prices and decreased their portion sizes. My cod sandwich seemed more like a kids meal size but paid almost same price as a full fish and chips meal. Pasta dish seemed like a kids meal size too at full price. Last time we came, it was much bigger. We won't be going back any time soon. What's going on here Red Lobster? read more

Terrible experience! I used to come here a few years ago so I decided to go back for the lobster fest. I ordered Fire-Grilled Lobster and Red Shrimp with rice. The food was dry, flavourless and sad. The rice was rock solid like it hasn't been cooked at all. My friend ordered the Grilled Tilapia with Lobster Beurre Blanc. The sauce tasted terrible, sour, so they accepted to take her plate back and not charge her for it. The server and the manager were very nice about it (worth mentioning)! Another fun fact, the portions are way smaller but the price has increased quite a bit. Not good! read more

I just finished having Father's day dinner here and the service was fantastic, from the hostesses, who were polite, efficient and worked really hard to seat everyone waiting as fast as possible, to the waitress who was attentive, courteous and fast with both service and food. The food was fantastic, delicious and everything was prefect. Everyone walked out full and happy with how the night went. Specially on such a busy night. Thank you to the staff at Red Lobster for making Father's day so good for everyone. read more

Very disappointed. I remember Red Lobster being that elegant delicious treat a few times a year -great food and great service, not anymore. We barely sat down and the biscuits were on the table, they weren't warm and didn't taste fresh. Our Shrimp Caesar's were missing the shrimp. The food was blah. And it took 20 minutes for us just to get the bill and then while paying our bill the server walked away to help someone else pay for their bill. It was not worth a $35 lunch. Not a good experience at all not what it used to be... read more

Wanted to use some gift cards and the place is old, dingy, and dirty. The food is sub par (we both had steak and lobster). The service was ok but nothing worth noting. Had empty beer and drink glasses & had to keep asking for more. The food, the manager, the workers, were mediocre. Many better quality restaurants in Edmonton for the same or less money. read more

I've always had a crazy relationship with Red Lobster. Although their portions of seafood are ridiculously small, I keep coming back, giving them another chance for redemption and hoping it will be better than the last time. Well, this was my final last time, and I will not be giving them any more chances. Even if they come with flowers and chocolates. The lobster and shrimp plate I got was disappointing, to say the least. The lobster pieces were small, which didn't surprise me, because they usually are. What really got to me though, was that my plate was half broccoli. And not even fresh broccoli either; some parts were visibly browning on top. My friends' first reaction when the waitress set my plate in front of me was "Wow, that's a lot of green." I wasn't given that much rice either, a spoonful at most, tucked under my lobster, probably so that it wasn't noticeable. Very disappointing, indeed. Sorry, Red Lobster, but this relationship just isn't working out. And I'm going to say the thing you're not supposed to say: it's not me, it's just all you. read more

Slow service, all foods are soooo SALTY!!! we could not finish our dishes, just everything was soooo salty!!! We had the ultimate feast, lobster lover's dream and 4 course meal with maritime lobster tail. Even my 13 year old daughter refused to eat yummy prawns as it was just way too salty. Who eats food like this these days; people go for healthy organic food, low sodium, etc. It was just a big waste of expensive lobsters and my money. Lastly, they charged us wrong - charged all individual dishes separately for 4 course meal that we ordered. read more

The wife and mother-in-law usually drag me out here once a year or so for unlimited shrimp fest. The problem is something always goes awry or isn't cooked properly. Like on our most recent visit, some of the shrimp were cold inside and hadn't turned pink. When my mother-in-law showed it to our waiter, he was like this simply isn't possible. Um, well... it was cold and not pink - still blue/gray clearish. Aside form the cheddar bay biscuits and huge lobster size drinks, I'm not sure what keeps people coming back. I'd much rather eat across the parking lot at their sister restaurant, Olive Garden. See you in a year, Mark P.S. Thanks for having live lobsters to entertain the kidlets read more

Don't eat here! All the good waitresses and hostesses in the world cans protect you from poor food handling and food management in the kitchen. I took my son out for a father/son night and I ordered one of their feasts. It had 2 types of shrimp, a lobster tail and some crab legs. Unfortunately someone dropped the ball and now I am struggling through food poisoning! Poor food handling, poor food prepping and poor cooking have ended with me having diarrhea, vomiting and horrible stomach cramps! But unfortunately all this comes down to poor management... avoid at ALL costs!!! read more

So won tickets at my office for one of the last Eskimo games. However being new to the city, we didn't know just how impossible it was to find parking. After an hour of looking for parking and missing 30mins of the game. We opted to instead find a place to go for dinner, insert Red Lobster. I was VERY young the last time I visited this chain of restaurant. But past memories reminded me that it was pricy but tasty. We arrived to a large and full parking lot, but luckily found an open space. The entrance to the restaurant is rather hard to navigate, especially when there is snow. When we finally got inside we were met with a sea of hopeful people looking to eat also. Fridays, not a day day to go it seems. I went to the front desk and asked about the wait time and was told 30mins and was handed one of those alarm discs. Roughly 30mins later the disc alarmed and we were shown to our table. The waitress was rather friendly, which was nice as I hate grumpy servers. She often asked to refill our drinks and did so promptly. The butter biscuits were quite tasty, but that was the only thing that was tasty. I ordered a platter of fried fish/shrimp. The food was rubbery and clearly was pre-made and frozen and not made fresh. During our meals, and others as well, our food consumption was interupted by a father and young daughter arguing. It took all my strength not to go over and ask to speak with the girl and explain what the father was saying. It is heart-breaking to see moments like that unfold in public places (girl has two daddys and biological daddy doesnt like that). Luckily we were finished around this time. However of course our departure was prolonged as the server suddenly was too busy to see us and get our bill seen to. We ended up roughly spending around $80-$90 for two meals, one appetizer and two non-alcoholic drinks. As I left we shared the same sentiments and those are: "if we want seafood, we'll just go to Joeys". read more

This is only my 2nd time at this location and forsure my last!!! The first time I came here my spouse got food poisoning from the chicken dinner he ordered and I highly regret not reporting it. (Approx. 2 years ago) I went back again last night for the crab lovers dream meal because when I tried crab for the first time it was at Red Lobster in downtown area of Calgary and I loved it! Both my boyfriend and my meals were over cooked, my crab should have been able to slide out nicely and basically melt in your mouth I got fed up and tired halfway through my meal fighting with my crab legs so frustrating!! We gently spoke to our waitress about our concerns (I am not one to usually complain however it was an expensive dinner) she brought the kitchen manager over we explained again to him our concerns, he apologized however all we received was $10 off our $91 bill ( that does not even include the drinks we ordered while waiting at the bar) !!! Very disappointed I will never return to this location again!! read more

Great fish and chips. My wife had the lobster and she seem to love it! Staff was friendly!

This experience by no means "made our night" it was just an average dining experience. So un-exceptional I almost forgot to write a review. Funny story, as we wait at the bar for our table, the bar was all out of diet coke? That was a bit annoying because I knew I was in for a very calorie heavy meal, I thought Id hedge some of the guilt with a sugar free drink, but was forced to drink water instead. No biggie. As we wait for our table we asked to order an appetizer. As soon as we ordered it (And I mean instantly, our bartender hadn't fully turned around yet) the little pager went off, and we tried to stop her from ordering it there. She ignored us nearly shouting, and she ordered it anyways. So obvious in her desire to have her 10% tip be off a bill $14 higher. Promising to bring our app to us, she didn't and it arrived cool. No biggie, thats just a one off. But I found none of the food to be very hot. Our server would get an A for effort. It was just a crazy busy night. It seems like the place where every joe-blow goes for dinner. Believe it or not, by age 26 I still had yet to go here, and had higher expectations for how amazing everyone makes it out to sound. Essentially its small portions of seafood (Which is more or less void of natural flavour) swimming in butter and garlic, which is okay. Though very unhealthy. The other part that sort of "Grinded my gears" was the fact that on the endless shrimp, they OVER served us on shrimp. Meaning they just "kept it coming" even though we were full, our tables were cleared. It wouldnt have been so bad, except for one the last plate went out, and as the assistant (not our server we had all night) set it down we said we were too full. He put it there anyways, and when the regular server returned, we voiced that it was probably going to go to waste as we were too full. We sat and picked away at two of the 12 or so shrimp waiting for the bill to come back and asked for it to be packed up. She said they werent supposed to, as if it was a cost cutting measure to prevent overconsumption or so people wouldnt attempt to always take some home with them. The fact of the matter is, as long as its ONE plate, its wasted food. Why would they SCRAPE it into the garbage instead of put it in a box? Why would you not want your customers to go home with a reminder of the good food. It didnt save them any money? All in all, just a regular busy saturday night in an average diner, with an average "Well at least we didnt have to cook or do dishes" premium added on to average food. Not horrible, not amazing. Just "Meh, Ive experienced better" read more

I had offered to take a friend out as she needed some cheering up and she decided she wanted to go here. While I do partake in shrimp I do not necessarily consider myself a huge seafood fan so admittedly I was coming into this experience a little biased. It wasn't totally terrible however. The impression coming in the door wasn't great as we had several staff make eye contact with us but then keep on walking as we waited to be seated. The lighting in here also seems ridiculously low almost like they are trying to simulate the experience of sitting below deck on a fishing boat. Once we were at the table however our waitress was very nice and made sure we were well looked after. It was also extremely busy when we went but we still got our food in a reasonable amount of time. I went with the sweet chili shrimp and thought they were pretty good. The sweet chili sauce they use is somewhat creamy which is different but very tasty. My friend got the shrimp trio which is a huge amount of food for around twenty dollars and she had no complaints. A reasonably average dining experience but I don't know if I would come back as like I mentioned prior im not a huge seafood fan. If you love all things from the sea however you may want to give this place a shot. read more

Started off as a pleasant evening. My husband had ordered the salmon, shrimp and lobster. The skin on the salmon was so dark it tasted burnt. Had to wait 15 minutes just to get someone to ask for a new one. Then the manager came over, got the wrong information as he thought it was a steak. After that the proceeds to not understand the problem as he doesn't like the skin and forgot that other people do. Then had to wait another 20 minutes just to wait for a new salmon. That one was better but didn't come with the sauce that that plate comes with so it was very bland. No apologies or anything. Our waiter didn't even know that there was a problem! Definitely not happy with our visit and probably will not be returning to this location read more

There is really only one season that brings me to Red Lobster on an occasional basis. And that season is All You Can Eat Shrimp time. I don't know why, but somehow I always end up going. Red Lobster is not the greatest, food wise. I suppose there is some decent value in what you are getting compared to the price you are paying (especially during the AYCE Shrimp time) but don't go in with high expectations. I LOVE seafood, but Red Lobster is the kind of place I go in with fairly low expectations and never come out surprised. My one favorite with Red Lobster is their Cheddar Bay Biscuits, and the last time I visited, they were pretty awful. We had 2 batches, and one was overbaked and the other was nearly underbaked. They offer free biscuits and free salad with every entree, which is nice. I also appreciate that they offer tossed salad or caesar, with no extra charge. The food is mediocre, but it gets the job done. I find Red Lobster to be to seafood what Olive Garden is to pasta. A lot of people like it, a lot of people keep coming back, but there are a lot of better options out there. The shrimp during AYCE Shrimp time are miniscule little things and nothing to get excited over - this season one of the offerings is a sweet and spicy grilled shrimp, and while the shrimp is okay, it is served on a bed of absolutely revolting "rice pilaf," which is completely unappetizing. I feel like a lot of the food here is manufactured and processed off-site, then simply warmed up and served in the kitchens. Some of the fresh seafood is great (I love the salmon) but it can vary with the kitchen staff and the evening you happen to be there. Red Lobster is consistently busy and there is high, high turnover in their tables. If you get there late, you may only have to wait 15 mins to get a seat, but the entire restaurant is trashed and gross looking from putting through so many people so quickly. I walked to the bathroom halfway through my meal and was grossed out by how much food was all over the floor on my way through the restaurant. Customer service tends to vary. As I said, it is a very busy location and the serving staff mostly seems to work very hard, all though I still noticed a lot of other staff standing around gossiping and not doing anything while the waitresses in my section were working their butts off to get food on the table. It was not very professional, to say the least, especially with how filthy the restaurant was that evening. Overall, Red Lobster isn't perfect. Think of a grungy neighborhood diner that serves only seafood - that's what it is. Come in, enjoy, leave feeling full. The atmosphere isn't great, the food isn't great, but somehow, it offers something that keeps a lot of customers coming back. Maybe it's the biscuits. read more

4 adults. We waited 5 minutes at the door...were seated in 6. Ordered 3 appetizers and four entrées. Had beverages and our orders in after being in the restaurant for 10 min. Food on the table after 20. Long story short, great food, awesome service staff, very fast, just gotta get there in time (arrive around 5pm.. Pro tip). Admirals Feast on the menu had some wierd ass popcorn things that tasted a little odd... But all else was better than expected though pricey. $180 for 4 adults. read more

The single worst restaurant I have ever been to. We went to Red Lobster out of nostalgia and I sure remembered it differently. If you want seafood go anywhere else but here. If you want to eat at a restaurant chain, go anywhere else but here. The men's bathroom was disgusting any gas station bathroom I have been in has been cleaner. As for the food, well, if you like butter as your main condiment, you have come to the right place. Butter with everything and lots of it, in fact way way too much of it. We ordered the calamari to start, it was the most greasy calamari I have ever had. It was so bad the batter wouldn't stick to the calamari. The rest of the food was so salty it was uneatable and was still coated in way too much butter. The corn I ordered as a side tasted like it had been warmed up in a microwave and then dipped in butter. The lobster tail was so salty and buttery it was inedible. Do yourself a favour and go anywhere else. read more

Love it! We got out table right away, when we were sat beside kids they had no problem switches us to somewhere quieter. We got the seafood feast I think it was called? Shrimp, lobster, crab and battered shrimp, for $30, then lobster topped lobster oh it was delicious. We probably had 4 lobster tails and 6 crab legs between the two of us, as a side I recommend the mashed potatoes, yum! We started with the white wine garlic mussels and those were delicious too. Considering everything we got there I was surprised the bill was only about $100, and we also got 2 drinks each! Will return with an empty stomach! read more

Red Lobster - Seafood Near Me - Edmonton, Alberta

Decided to check out this Red Lobster again after hating it the first time. Had a much-improved experience, likely due to the $10-off-2-entrees coupon I found online. This brought our 4-course-meal down to $13 each which made it almost palatable (to the stomach and the pocketbook).. in fact, quite enjoyable, since our waitress was very nice, helpful, and quite quick. The food, however, is still quite salty (not as bad as the first time I went) and extremely fatty. Don't eat all day and you might be able to not suffer a heart attack during a meal here, but just take the dessert home. NOTE: this is for the south-side red lobster, not the west side one. read more

Red Lobster has been a favourite since childhood, but this visit was very different. We arrived around 10pm on a Saturday night, so it could be that the restaurant was winding down from a busy evening. We ordered calamari to start and the Ultimate Feast. We waiting patiently for the biscuits that I've tried to recreate at home because of our delight in them, only to find a finger depression and, what looked like, a bite taken out of one. The basket of biscuits looked like it had been taken from a different table after they had had their fill and we were given the left overs. Anything deep fried was soggy and not very tasty. We did not finish our appetizer because of this and when asked, were honest in our reasoning of why. The server had the calamari removed from our bill. The crab, lobster and garlic butter shrimp were delicious as normal. Overall our experience was merely meh, and because I know this restaurant to be typically much better, I've given it 4 stars. I'm chocking this up to a late night experience at a restaurant who typically does well. Will we go again? You betcha. And next time we hope to give a 5 star rating like we have experienced in the past. read more

The food was good for what it was a chain restaurant with decent seafood. If you go into the restaurant expecting something fantastic you will be mistaken. It is very average in all aspects. The plating of the food was above average. However, the server seemed to be lacking conversational skills. Although she was nice the service just seemed underwhelming. Hello: First of all every time we went to eat at Red Lobster West Edmonton, we were treated very well. Fast being looked after by waiters who were all very friendly and spoke to us well, and service was quick. Now for the nightmare part. We decided to have the food delivered so we didn't have to go out. I watched for the vehicle to park in front, and was she mad. Yelled at me. We have a sign on the sidewalk where it says no entry, that I gave her the wrong address. No, she couldn't understand how to read the GPS. Have sign on gate (mail box) beside house that says "Deliveries". Never has had trouble before with anyone not reading. We don't shovel that front door walk. Never had in over 24 years when it is winter. We get deliveries about every two weeks. Amazon, different restaurants, and they didn't have trouble reading. Apparently while she was yelling at us telling me that I gave her an alley address, and she was driving up and down alley to find us. Our address is like everyone elses. I don't know who lives in an alley. Seen her get out of car, and before I could inform her that sidewalk is closed by sign because she was heading up it. . Now has plowed through snow, fell, on top of delivery bag. There was not one track in that snow. Duh. We got a complaint letter that we need to shovel the snow. That walk has no entry sign for a very good reason. If I was to purchase again from Red Lobster I have to buy yellow caution tape. The walk from street to mail box is very easy, No twists, or turns it is straight away from curb. Notice is very plain with purchased letters. I called Red Lobster that everything was soaked with a large clam chowder. None left in serving bowl. Redd Lobster told me that they don't know comes and picks up the order. Could be any delivery company. Well doesn't sound very good. Could be typhoid Mary. Red Lobster said they could not check on who delivered. They didn't even offer to replace it, that it had to be the company, because it was their fault. and they didn't know who it was. By the way, the food was all flattened. Learn by this, ask for name, and the company they work for if you desire. I don't know what she was on, but that is the very last time we will anything to do with Red Lobster, and stick with restaurants that do their own deliveries. Ask this question too. We would go about once a month for lunch. . Can prove it by my debit card. read more

This is the worst seafood place I've ever been to. It is the fast food of seafood. I ordered the "surf and turf" steak and lobster tail, had a few bites of everything and left it. It all tasted funny. I just came back from the emergency with confirmation that I have food poisoning. As a server in the industry for 14 years I have to say that the front of house staff was very pleasant but the food really SUCKED and obviously their health standards are not up to par.
