Great breakfast place. Very simple menu but prepared very well. I had eggs/sausage and coffee which tasted freshly made. The restaurant itself is small and dated but the service more than makes up for it. Super nice host! Food came out fast and service was great. I would recommend this place.

When I was a young lad I would accompany my dad deer hunting every fall. I hated the actual hunting part, but I loved everything else about those weekends... the fall countryside, riding ATVs, hanging with dad and his buddies picking up on offside jokes they thought I wouldn't understand, motel stays with movie rentals and Junk food, and eating at The Copper Kettle in Irma, Alberta. The Copper Kettle was (as far as my recollection goes) the only restaurant in Irma, where we stayed every hi ring season. It was a typical small town restaurant, owned by a friendly Asian family. The burger and fries just hit different in that outdated little restaurant. The Red Goose took me back to my childhood at The Copper Kettle. I read about this spot on an Edmonton foodie account on Instagram. I have a good friend who lives in Hazeldean so I immediately forwarded the post to him and he replied "I haven't ate there since it was The Purple Cow in 1975". So our lunch date was set. This place is awesome. No "designed to look retro" here. This place is old, outdated, clean and cozy as hell. The owners are incredibly friendly and the food is just familiar and comforting. There is nothing outstanding about the food, it is regular small town restaurant fare, but it's done perfectly for a most reasonable price and you just want to support these folks. A true mom and pop restaurant that will appreciate your visit and deserve it.

A vintage diner in Hazeldean, Red Goose is like stepping into the past - in decor, low prices & great service. Run by an older Asian couple, him in the front and her cooking in a small open kitchen in the back. Breakfast or lunch, with sandwiches, burgers, or even bulgogi with rice - there's something for everyone. Open 7 days a week, business has continued to be excruciatingly slow since covid started. They have zero online presence, no social media & are not on any delivery apps. A true #iykyk hidden gem that could use the support. One of the most positive & cheery souls I've ever met, he sends EVERY person out the door with a boisterous "(HAVE A) HAPPY DAY!" and an offer of an elbow bump (high 5s pre-covid). It fills my heart every time I hear it. Highly recommended.

This little spot is a blast into the past. It's straight out of the 70/80s and has that retro feel. The serving staff/ owners are genuinely kind and so helpful. Our food was that home cooked, rustic dinner fill. It made me think of my own home town diner! Where the food and the ppl are always good and the Decor is different from everyday views. Great for traditional breakfast and lunch! There is also a great bakery next door that supplies a lot of the toast and bread for sandwiches! So tasty!

They ARE open in Sunday's! This is our favourite place to go for family breakfast on weekends. Homey decor, friendly service, and delicious food (the fresh pancakes are THE best).

Brunch is offered on Saturday and Sunday, otherwise they open for lunch (closed Mondays). Epic Market is huge. This will be a very popular place for the Whyte Avenue crowd as there are so many options available depending on which floor you enter. We were on the second floor today for brunch but the first floor, which has a similar look and feel, has a Mexican menu. It opens for lunch at 11:30am. It's a unique concept for Edmonton. The server said that they've opened similar restaurants in larger cities like Toronto but Edmonton is their first venture into a "smaller market". The brunch menu was interesting with some unique features and some typical offerings. I had the Pork Bennie, for $18.00 in 2024. The prices are quite reasonable for the type and quantity of the food. My bennie was good. My only criticism is that a special house ketchup would have been a nice touch. The service was excellent and we had a nice view of Gateway Blvd out the window. The coffee includes endless refills which is good because the cups were not very large. I'm sure the vibe is much different for dinner than brunch, but based on our experience, I'll definitely return.

My wife and I both ordered the Chandru Special for $17.50. It's a crepe with bacon and eggs inside plus some cheese slices melted on top. There was a side of fresh fruit. The presentation was somewhat lacking as the cheese slices made it look like something you find at your children's birthday party. The dish definitely needed some sauce to help it down. At least the fruit was good. Our server was very skilled at tunnel vision as she didn't see us even when walking right by our table. Eventually we caught her and got a refill for our coffee. She was pleasent enough when she arrived but definitely didn't want to do refills. On a more positive note, my friend ordered an omelet which came with potatoes that looked like thick potato chips. They looked good and he liked them. If I return it will be because I am in the area and can't find a better place. In other words, three stars out of five.

The sandwich was okay though. Service was prompt and friendly. The washrooms were clean. That's about all I can say. If you are nearby and hungry, by all means stop in. However I wouldn't recommend going out of your way to dine here.

I was contacted a year later by a new general manager, who addressed my issues, and promised a successful event for 2016. I booked our event with Elizabeth, who was beyond helpful and accommodating. I had so many changes with guest lists, and table arrangements, and Elizabeth happily accommodated every request. The night of the function, I arrived early and there were some things that weren't quite set up right, but the banquet supervisor worked quickly to get things in order. All the staff were very friendly and super helpful. I felt like they all had their A-game on. When there was a discrepancy on the banquet order about what time we had the room until, the supervisor was extremely accommodating. I absolutely love the "Top of the Inn". It's a spectacular room with floor to ceiling windows on both sides, overlooking the city. The room was renovated just a few years ago, and there are stunning sparkling led lights in the ceiling that really make it feel like your under the night sky. This would be a very romantic spot for a wedding. The food is always great here. Buffet's can always be hit or miss but they do a great job here. Many of the guests commented on the food. The banquet prices are competitive with other hotels in Edmonton. Out of all the Edmonton hotels I've held banquets at, or attended banquets, I really think that the Top of the Inn at the Delta is the most stunning. And after the great service we had this time, I won't hesitate to book again.
