Came here Sunday at 9AM, no problem getting a table. Place was 50% full. Got the 1/2 L orange juice for $10.75 was very good but debatable if worth the price. Worked out to 3 glasses of OJ. Friend is gluten sensitive so she was able to ask for the "gluten-free menu" they had a whole separate menu for her! Her Pannekoeken looked the exact same as mine but used gluten-free flours. She got the Banana nut and loved it. Ate 100% of it. I got the Meat Lovers. Meat was cooked into it and not just on top. I was very happy with the amount of meat and portion of giant pancake. Just wish it can with some fruit even as a garnish. Syrup is always available as well. Service was very good. Overall a great Sunday brunch spot.

Our first time trying the Dutch pancakes - Loved it! Spicy Christmas Mimosa - 5* Vegetarian Pannekoeken - 3* Banana & Walnut Pannekoeken - 4* Nice ambience - Service could have bit better.

Eggs Benny and an omelet with hollandaise sauce on the side

Great food, great service, tasty coffee, hollandaise sauce was delicious. I will be back next time I'm in the area.

I've been wanting to try the pannekoeken (Dutch pancake) at De Dutch ever since I came back from my trip from Amsterdam. I finally got the chance to recently. My coworkers and I ordered "The Hash" which was one of their savory pancakes that included hash browns, green pepper, onion and cheddar mixed with choice of meat with hollandaise sauce. Dutch pancakes are known to be very large and thin compared to normal pancakes. It was decent meal and tasted like what it sounds. It was a good meal but not mind blowing. Compared to the pannekoeken I had in Amsterdam, De Dutch's pancakes lacks presentation and a wow factor that makes you want to crave for more. However for Edmonton standards, it's pretty good and and it's the only place you'll be able to order pannekoeken that I know of. I've tried other foods at De Dutch in the past and they have been above average and filling. Generally, De Dutch is a solid choice for breakfast food downtown.

I was looking for some place I had never been too and found this place. The night before we were at Zoobrew and needed a great breakfast. The place was pretty busy when we got there but we were seated right away. I had no idea what to expect from the service or food. Our server a wonderful brunette brought our coffees right away and answered all our questions about the menu. The place is set up nicely. A lot of tables but not congested. It's very bright and welcoming. I ordered The Hash. Looks like a giant pancake with a hash topped with hollandaise. The server told me that it is also her favourite item on the menu. My friend ordered eggs, toast and bratwurst I don't recall the prices as my friend was treating me for brunch. I loved the decor and the petit pot (mini pot) of cream we got with our coffee. It was just really lovely here. Our food came and it DID NOT DISAPPOINT. I need to come back and try more We were lucky we found parking nearby and for $2 for the few hours we were in the neighbourhood it was a steal of a deal!! Great food and great service. I will return for more.

Chocolate, strawberry, and whip pannakeok!!

Got takeout.. order was ready in 10 mins. I don't know what this pannekeok is, but whatever it is, I need more. Got the chocolate (Nutella), strawberry, and whip and it was delicious. Packaged in pizza box and toppings are stored so that you can add them yourselves in whatever quantities you wish. Soo good! Kinda like a pancake + crepe had a baby.

First time to De Dutch for my boyfriend's birthday. We didn't have a reservation, but there was no wait, thankfully, for a table for 3. There is no easy parking, which I was aware of, but still didn't like this fact upon arrival with my 79 year old Grandfather. Boyfriend had to drop us off and park down the street. Not a huge deal for some, but something to be aware of. Our server was top notch. Attentive without being annoying. She made sure we had everything we needed and that coffee was always topped up. The coffee was pretty good for "diner" coffee. Not weak slough water, like some. Really enjoyed it. Food was very good... we definitely want to try other items on the menu. It's a huuuuuge menu and the Turkey options are so good, as we don't eat beef or pork. At first glance I felt super comfortable with COVID-19 protocols in place. Servers were all masked and it wasn't super busy in there. As we completed our meals, boyfriend pointed out that there's a window into the kitchen and none of the cooks were wearing masks or gloves or any kind of PPE. When I happened to look the one cook scratched his nose with his finger and kept on going. Now; I'm not sure what the mandated protocols are, it may not be mandatory for kitchen staff to wear masks, as they don't deal with the general public, however they are dealing with our food. I'd think that if I was the De Dutch manager I would want to be visibly above what the expectations are for safety in the pandemic. Overall this was great dining for breakfast and the mask thing is just evidence of my discomfort dining out right now (which I didn't really realize was a concern for me until this morning). Thanks De Dutch.

Had to check out this place after seeing another Yelper's review a few weeks ago. I've been here before but I never actually tried the Pannekoeken before. This time I made it a point to actually try one! I have had a craving for pancakes recently! I came at about 9:30 AM on a Sunday with my entire family and there were a lot of open tables. There were about 8 of us. I would definitely recommend coming this early or making reservations if you want to get in. This is because around 10 AM it was absolutely SLAMMED. So even that extra half hour makes a huge difference here. The two menu items I tried were the veggie omelette and the strawberry cream cheese pannekoeken. The omelette was my Mom's and it was really good. The toast came with blueberry jam which is my fave jam. The potatoes were a bit soggy - maybe my least fave menu item. The strawberry cream cheese pannekoeken was amazing! I was so glad I got to try it because it was heavenly. It came with so much whipped cream and I could barely finish it! I would absolutely recommend this to anyone coming to De Dutch specifically for pancakes. Our server was great! We really enjoyed our breakfast here!

Love the idea of these huge Dutch pancakes! And you can get them savoury or sweet! We got 2 flavours (1 sweet and 1 savour) of the pancakes: - Mixed fruit: Comes with a bowl of fruit and a small mountain of whipped cream. Super yummy! - The Hash: Mixture of bacon, potatoes, mushrooms, onions, and green peppers topped with cheese. A little bit too salty for me but still good! We also ordered the Eggs Benedict. It was good!

The shop tucked in a building on stony plain road and 152 street. I am sure over my time in Edmonton I have driven by it but did not know the treasures that were in store. The place inside looks clean and bright. You can see right back to where the magic happens when you walk in. When I went in in a Saturday at lunch, they had a good selection of sweet options and savory and i decided on the pretzel pizza stick, a birthday cake bar, cheese scone and a ginger snap cookie for research purposes. Oh dear the texture of that pizza stick was exactly what I have been missing. The fluffy, chewy texture was in each bite and I was so happy. That texture that I have been missing in a bread product has finally been found and the flavour was there too. I finally felt like I wouldn't have to miss out in the things that I once really enjoyed. The birthday cake bar was also delicious and will be something that I would get for a party for myself or anyone else so they don't feel like they are missing out on the cake. And while I haven't eaten all of the treats, I can confidently say I will be back and soon to hit up the fresh bread because it has been too long since I have had a nice sandwich. Delicious!

I'm not sure what her name is. She is nice sometimes when I come in, and other times, she cuts me off when I'm speaking. Their customer service has really gone down hill. My main concern however is their lack of food labeling. There are no best before dates, or "consume by". There are no ingredients listed on their packaging. You're taking a gamble with trusting that because it's "gluten free" it's safe to eat. They don't label any other possible allergens aside from dairy/eggs. If they're going to chemically alter their baked goods, they should label them as such. They've recently added some coolers to their store to add in some other fresh items. You can grab fresh pizza dough, and other things. I noticed a lot was not labeled again with a price or ingredients. $7 for a small portion of pizza dough was pretty outrageous. I get the convenience of being able to grab and go though. I'm just not sure it's worth the price. It would be nice if they added a cafe or something where you could sit and enjoy a coffee and pastry. If you don't mind the mediocre customer service, high prices, and guessing game of will this give me some sort of allergic reaction then absolutely I recommend you check this place out.

They've been on quite a turbulent journey to say the least. Die Pie first opened their doors downtown on Jasper Ave in 2017. Then the pandemic hit and threw everything into question and they ended up moving to 97th in the Boyle Street area in 2020. Then, sadly, later in 2020 they announced that Die Pie would be closing it's doors for good. It seemed that everything had come to an unfortunate and heart breaking end. But there was some hope when the pizzas became available at their sister business Seitans in the 5th Street Food Hall in 2021. ...And then in 2023, rising from the ashes, Die Pie opened once again, this time on 105th Street in Queen Mary Park. Nothing short of a roller coaster, I'm not sure how they've done it. However, their legion of devoted fans certainly wants their plant-based pizza revolution to continue. VUE Weekly named Die Pie # 1 Pizza (Classic) 2018 and # 1 Best Pizza (Thin Crust) 2018. Yes, the pizza is meatless but this is a place that can compete with all of the rest. You need to try it for yourself to believe it! I was so pleased to visit for the first time on a Saturday evening and I would totally describe the restaurant and location as "industrial-chic." They've got plenty of space with a fun tropical vibe from the pink-sided bar area to the pink-and-green frond print on the chairs. The best decor item of all, without a question, is the huge original Jasper Ave restaurant sign that now hangs inside. What a testament to their resiliency. There's a little stage area that must be great for live music and other such performances. Speaking of music, the tunes at Die Pie are absolute perfection and I found myself dancing and singing in my seat for the majority of my visit - we must have very similar taste in music. Our server was helpful and friendly, happy to give us the time that we needed to make our way through the extensive menu. There's quite a lot more than just pizza! I'm not much of a pop-drinker but I do enjoy a soda with pizza from time to time. I really like that Die Pie doesn't serve the mainstream brands and instead opts for Jarritos (which I love), Wild Brewing Kombucha, and Phillips Soda Works from Victoria. We chose a Speed King Craft Cola ($5.00) and an Intergalactic Root Beer ($5.00), both from Phillips. The art on the can alone is worth it. I really like a craft cola made with cane sugar a lot. You've probably heard people talk about Mexican cola and how it's a far superior product - and the cane sugar is why. Using cane sugar makes the flavour so much better. Speed King is made with actual kola nut as well as cane sugar, has a rich flavour, and somehow isn't too sweet. The Intergalactic was interesting because it actually tasted like real root beer. The amber colour is not typically expected and the flavour of licorice root, cloves, and cane sugar creates a beverage that tastes much more authentic. They both paired wonderfully with the pizza. The food menu involves a lot! You'll find a whole host of starters, fried chickun (which I believe is Seitans main thing, now available at Die Pie), pasta, and burgers. And of course there is pizza. A lot of pizza. I was excited to start my meal with some Bites (there are four types) which I remember very well from my 5th Street Food Hall visits. This time I chose the Kimchi Bites (Sourdough bites stuffed with chedda, extra virgin olive oil, sunflower parmesan, and housemade kimchi - $16.00) because they sound so unique. However, the chedda, donair, and pickle versions are excellent options as well. These little tender and twirly dough balls are served with two dips of your choice and they've got twelve to select from! Gochujang Dip seemed like an obvious pick and we also got Garlic Aioli Dip for a more cooling option. If you love Die Pie's soft and fluffy pizza dough (and you do) this is just another way to get more of it. Pungent, acidic kimchi is wrapped within the dough like a soft blanket. These bites had some spicy kick! Dip them in the gochujang for an even bigger punch! These are fun and easy to eat. However, if you're also ordering pizza it does mean that your meal will contain a lot of dough (which is not necessarily a bad thing). The main event is absolutely the California style pizza and with 18 different pies you certainly won't be wanting for choice. Each one is made from scratch using their signature hand-tossed sourdough crust which they make with local flour. And let me tell you: IT'S THE CRUST. I'm the type of person who doesn't always eat my crust - in most cases I have no desire to eat additional plain, tough bread. But once in a while there's the odd case when the dough itself is something special. Die Pie makes a dough so pillowy that you will find it in your dreams. But that's not all. On Thursdays they do Detroit style pizza, they can make gluten-
