The coffee was strong and bold--on par with Starbucks--while the fresh-squeezed orange juice was vibrant and delicious. The prices are definitely on the higher side, but you can tell they're using quality ingredients, and it's worth it for the elevated breakfast experience. Service was quick and efficient--we were in and out in about 40 minutes, including ordering, drinks, food, and payment. If you can make a reservation, it's ideal, but even without one, the wait time isn't usually too bad. We tried two of their signature breakfast poutines: * The Gold Digga, featuring artisan cheese curds, Berkshire roast pork, black truffles, and a rich homemade hollandaise sauce. * The Get Shorty Rib, which came loaded with cheese curds, Philly-style beef short ribs, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, and that same amazing hollandaise. I just returned from what may be the worst breakfast experience I've had in Edmonton. The OEB at 124 Street and 102 Avenue is ridiculously overcrowded. You're practically sitting on top of the people beside you. It honestly made me wonder how this place complies with occupancy and safety standards. On top of that, the restaurant was unbearably hot. Our server was literally sweating and told us they don't have air conditioning. That's unacceptable for a restaurant charging premium prices. My spouse ordered the breakfast burrito, and I ordered the standard eggs and sausage, over $20 for two eggs, two sausages, a handful of salty potatoes, and a single piece of stale toast? The value is laughable. I've had better breakfasts at roadside diners for half the price. Then the food arrived. Cold. The over-easy eggs were cold, the toast was cold, and the sausages looked like they had been cremated. If you've never experienced cold over-easy eggs, OEB will happily introduce you to them. What I cannot understand is how this place has built such a reputation. Based on my experience, it is one of the most overrated breakfast restaurants in the city. You're paying premium prices for overcrowding, excessive heat, mediocre service, and food that should never have left the kitchen. I won't be back. There are dozens of breakfast spots in Edmonton that deliver better food, better value, and a far more enjoyable experience. Save your money and go literally anywhere else. read more

I paired it with half fries and half spinach, which made for a perfectly portioned meal--not too heavy on the stomach. I absolutely love the OEB chain, and have visited the other locations. Brought my family here to show them, as I had not been to this location before, and I am sad that this was their first impression. It was so loud we had to communicate through text - the tables are crazy close together, there is no sound barrier between the kitchen and dining area, and they were blaring music over all the noise. It was fuel for a good migraine. The coffee was chalky, and the milk jug they brought over for the coffee was empty which was odd. All of this after the nightmare of trying to find parking in the vicinity. I would recommend going to the downtown location instead. read more

Of the 3 items I had concerns with, I was only given a solution to 1 (another 1 was met with excuses, and the other entirely not addressed). Spinach salad with raspberry vinaigrette was the alternative to fries. Friend liked it. Tuna burger : 8/10. Tuna doesn't have much taste, super messy - like everywhere. Loved the toppings and flavor of the ingredients in the burger. Bun was super soft. Fries were super fresh, well cooked. Needed more salt. I've been here before but it's been so long that I don't remember a whole lot of my experience. I recently visited again and ordered the a lott a laks poutine benny. You have the option of getting it with half the amount of potatoes with spinach or arugula on the side (free of charge). I got 1/2 potatoes and 1/2 arugula. I am glad this was an option as I would've found it too heavy with the amount of potatoes. It was perfect and the right amount for me. My friend got the pancakes, eggs, and bacon with added fruit and whipped cream. It came with one pancake but it was pretty big. She enjoyed her breakfast. The food was nice and hot, potatoes were crispy, and there was lots of flavour. The only reason it lost a star was because my dish was a bit salty. Our waitress was great! She was prompt, friendly, checked in etc. overall the service was great and the staff were all very kind greeting you with a smile upon walking through the doors. I recommend coming on a weekday as it gets ridiculously busy on the weekends unless you make a reservation. There's paid street parking on 124st. read more

I love visiting OEB for brunch. This location has both indoor and outdoor seating in the summer. I recommend making a reservation, as the restaurant is usually quite busy. The servers are always friendly and knowledgeable.The coffee is flavourful and is served in large mugs. On this visit, I ordered the Canadian Lobster and Shrimp Crepe. The crepe was light, the hollandaise was buttery and there was a good portion of seafood in the crepe. My meal was perfect! read more

Delicious poutines. Best croque madame ever. Large portions are good for sharing but why would uou want to? This local chain originated in calgary and i always had to wait over an hour to get a seatat this amazing brunch spot. Probably 10 years later andits still the same if not even busier bc more people know about it now. My favourite brunch spot in Yeg. I personally like this location out of all the Edmonton locations if I don't want to wait as long as usually it's not as busy as their downtown or windermere location. Food is instagram picture perfect but also tastes amazing. I love the classic gold digga poutine which is drenched in hollandaise sauce. But I think my favourite dish is the croque madame. They use manchego cheese!!! My pro tip is to get a side of potatoes and share a poutine bc it is alot for just one person. And if you're still hungry order another dish and share it. First time coming and had ordered the short rib poutine for myself and my friend ordering pirogies and duck. It took around 25 minutes for the food to cook, but once it came out, the food looked very appealing to the eye. Something to keep in mind is it's quite cold in this location so if you are going in the morning id recommend bring a sweater. The layout of this place is cool. I love the vibe of it all, I like how all the servers wear matching T-shirts with jean shorts & it appeared that most of the serves have a very natural look, and not heavy on the make up, not sure if that's part of the aesthetic at OEB but that's what I observed. The service was great. Food was good, I wish my poutine wasn't so watery and runny, it lacked flavour (so I loaded it with Tabasco & pepper) along with the amount of cheese. So I would give this a 4.5 if I could. I am not a typical breakfast eater, so you have to really wow me with the food. And I was wowed. Really diverse breakfast menu and loved all the interesting cocktails and other drinks that they provided. I decided on the Ahi tuna breakfast bowl. It was massive and delicious. My egg was perfectly cooked and all the flavours combined really well. My friend had the classic breakfast and she was really pleased with it. Our server was prompt, friendly and helpful. The reason that they loose half a star is that the atmosphere is not interesting or calming. I found it similar to a cafeteria in the restaurant. Really neutral and clinical. I have a hard time with this one. Parking is terrible down town and overall it is rather small space, end up sitting at the bar rather than a table. The service was friendly but they didnt check in very often. The poutines we had were really good but the actual food portion was small 70% hashbrowns to 30% topping. At $20 plus a plate I would think could have had more toppings. Also the hasbrowns are freaking amazing so that is nice. I guess what I am saying is good food could be bigger! Well, I have to say we were unsure because we had heard mixed reviews about OEB... but we were not disappointed. We took my dad there for his 59th bday today. I called yesterday to make a reservation for 5 people. The lady who answered the phone said their reservations were full, but would see what she had... and it worked out. I was very glad. There was a cancellation for a patio table out front, and we opted to sit there instead of inside: My fiancé wanted to try the lobster dish, but unfortunately they were out. (He was super disappointed... this always seems to happen to him.) Service was lovely, and everyone enjoyed their food. Presentation was good, as I thought everyone's food looked delicious and wanted to try it all. I got just a simple breakfast but it was honestly delicious. Those duck fat fried potatoes are unreal. Overall this was probably one of the best breakfast places I've been to. Over the years we've done the Cora's, Tuttifrutti's, High Level Diner.... But this one definitely beats them. You pay for it, though. Expensiveeeeee. $110 for breakfast is steep, but we all enjoyed and it was a special occasion. read more

Meh. I heard of OEB for a while, and we've recently tried to get in (to no avail of course) on the weekends. Today on a whim, we drove by (as it was a weekday and I happened to be off). There were a couple of free tables so we went in, and actually got seated. So many people have been making a "big thing" about the food, and particularly the potatoes "roasted in duck fat" that are a side for some breakfasts. When going to a new breakfast place I always like to try the traditional bennies, as for me they are a reasonably accurate barometer for the other food. Some things that stuck out: - maybe supply a steak knife or sharper knife like most other places do for bennies. (the dull butter knife wasn't easy to cut with). Enjoyed them being on croissants though. - The eggs are supposed to be "poached" but these were perfectly formed spheres (like you boil an egg and shell it). I'm suspicious they were actually boiled. Or they've invented some way to poach them in a perfect egg-shaped sphere. - I asked for "medium" but when I cut into the eggs (and I had left them alone for about 10 minutes on my plate), yolk poured out over the plate. Definitely soft. - The hollandaise was pretty good though. The potatoes: they were grilled fairly well, and when I tasted them, nothing stood out that would suggest they were "special". They weren't down at "Dennys" level but definitely not up where I assumed the much-raved about "duck fat" potatoes would be. They were fairly dry (no seeming trace of fat). I prefer the potatoes that Normand's serves with their brunches (which I miss, them not doing brunch any more since Covid). The coffee was excellent. While it was an "ok" breakfast place, I think this is one of those cases where the hype doesn't quite match the reality. read more

I have always considered Oeb as the best breakfast brunch place in town. Since our friend came visit us, I brought him to the restaurant. But it was such a disappointment. I ordered the tuna crudo poutine with waffle fries. The waffle fries were ridiculously salty. I hope u can imagine my disappointment when the waffle fries were absolutely inedible. Even though I told the server, she didn't do much about it. This was very annoying which just ruined my day. Hope they do something about it, and maintain the food quality. read more
