Usually I have come out to support local musicians who play weekends, but I have not eaten here for at least 10 years. Those years have been kind.... The place seems to have been renovated, and the menu has improved significantly.. We found ourselves a nice booth near the patio and our lovely and efficient server was there immediately to give us menus, and take drink orders. Our drinks (Guinness for me, Traditional for my pal) landed inside of 2 minutes. We took some time with the menus, as there were a bunch of tempting choices, but in the end, I went with a Cuban Sandwich with Greek Salad on the side. Pal chose the Crispy Chicken Sandwich, with Tossed Salad and Blue Cheese dressing. We had a few minutes to chat and catch up, sipping our frosty cold beverages, and had a chance to look around. Caffrey's appear to do a solid lunch trade, as it was about 12:30, and the place was pretty busy.There were a couple of groups that appeared to be work friends, a few table of "ladies who lunch," and what looked like a cadre of regulars sitting at the bar. The cauliflower was well seasoned, and the batter was perfectly coated on. Fish light and flakey and the fries are well cooked. My friend seemed to really enjoy hers as well. This is probably the nicest pub in North East Edmonton. So if you are craving a pint and fried food this is where you should go.
