Zero stars. My experience was honestly terrible. The owner's tone and demeanor were surprisingly unfriendly from the moment I walked in. What made it worse is I noticed she spoke to other customers much more warmly, so I couldn't help but feel singled out. On top of that, the service was slow. My order actually came out after the person who ordered after me, which was frustrating and didn't help the overall impression. As for the food--it was just... meh. As a matcha connoisseur... this is not good matcha. Although they hand whisk this drink, whatever powder is being used is definitely not ceremonial grade. Each drink is handmade with care by the shop owner herself, so patience may be required when there's a line of people. It's not super sweet. Hong Kong milk tea - a solid HK milk tea. It's not too sweet. Mango latte - more of mango milk with small chunks of mango. It's not super sweet. This is such an East Bay hidden gem! There aren't many dessert places like this around here. The location is a little bit hard to find, but I promise it's worth it! There's some drinkand kakigori (Japanese shave ice) options on the menu. I ordered the Mango Kakigori, which was so delicious. There are quite a few options for different types of coffee + matcha drinks, but I ended up deciding on the Kamo latte. It came out beautifully presented, with the layers of matcha, milk, and coffee quite distinct. Once I mixed them together though, everything blended together nicely.
