It looks better in the pictures but and the noodles they use for the ramen are a little different than I'm used to. It is a good spot if it's close by and you're tempted to try! read more

My first time at Kami Ramen I waited weeks and months to go here because it's always so busy. I had stopped in quickly one time before but they were Not cooking fried rice that night so I didn't order anything. This time I ordered online for pickup as they suggested for pickup. I ordered the Chicken Tomato Fried Rice. No big surprise they were Not cooking fried rice that afternoon so I ended up with Shoyu Ramen. They actually called me back and said No fried rice so I was already prepared and ordered the Shoyu Ramen. Is it just me or if you have something permanently listed on your menu shouldn't you actually have it available every day your open or shouldn't you say on the menu Monday Wednesday Friday only or Tuesday Thursday Saturday only? So these people are extremely overwhelmed 50% good 50% bad. Everyone wants their food and their restaurant is so small they just can't handle everything. Most of their Ramen comes with Nori (Edible Seaweed). When they called me back about my online order and wanted to replace my Chicken Tomato Fried Rice. I said sure no problem I'll have the Shoyu Ramen and Please I beg you No Nori. For a second and third time No Nori I can't have Nori I'm allergic to it!!!!! Of course they placed the Nori right on top of all the other ingredients. Fortunately they place all the ingredients on a plastic top plate above the soup for take out and pick up. You're supposed to dump all the ingredients into the soup when your ready to eat it for take out and pick up. So I was able to just carefully lift off all the Nori and then dump the rest of the ingredients into the soup and eat away. If they had given me this Ramen soup with all the Nori already in the soup. I would have had to take it back or throw it all out. So the Shoyu Ramen with out Nori was great pretty good I'd say 4 stars out of 5 stars. Very expensive though this should be a $10 or $12 Ramen but even with a small tip it was $16.50. I've given a 3 star rating here overall because they got my order wrong and actually placed an item I have a food allergy to in my order. My Ramen noodles even after being placed in the soup and being vigorously stirred around were still clumped and stuck together a little maybe that's normal for Ramen? I don't eat much Ramen but loved this Ramen and I will go back especially for their Ramen. These guys are making so much money I'm not sure why they haven't moved into a much bigger restaurant already but I'm sure that's coming soon I hope? They're missing some basic stuff here I mean get the order correct is just basic. Don't give people foods they are allergic to especially when they've asked over and over again to Not have that specific food in their order. Ambiance is spread very very thin although very cute Japanese vibe trying to groove me but not exactly getting there. read more

The most authentic Japanese ramen in Anchorage Alaska I've had since I've been back from traveling in Japan! I recommend this over Naruto and Whiskey and Ramen any day! read more

Best ramen in the city. Service is fast and the take-out is great too! For an app I love the Masago Fries

the best ramen ever, the girls are so sweet and the food is amazing, we keep coming back bc everything is so delicious. thank you

The ramen was yummy. The service really friendy and provided great. Cute atmosphere and nice ambiance.

I like ramen and I like getting it at Kami Ramen. The service is also very likeable. I also like the hot green tea they have at Kami Ramen. I like to go to Kami Ramen for lunch as well as dinner, and sometimes in that order. I will eat Kami Ramen twice in one day because I like it. The atmosphere is very cozy, which is something that I also like. read more

Party of 4. Walked in and noticed a tablet to enter name to be on waitlist. Waited maybe 10 minutes. Quick to take order, order came out separated by about 10 minutes apart. Heard that is normal for this business and should be expected. Calamari and ramen tasted great and didn't disappoint. Restaurant was clean and had nice ambiance for as small as it is. Service is task oriented, get you in and out. This is not a hang out at your table for an extra 30 minutes plus type of place. We will be returning for dine-in or take out. read more

The service was okay and the food was okay as well wasn't anything to brag about but definitely wasn't bad

Noodles were not fully cooked, the broth was not warm enough, and it was very expensive. Egg was overcooked.

By far the best ramen I've ever had. I go here weekly and I don't expect that to change anytime soon. The staff are all very nice and professional, I love it here. Definitely some of the best food anchorage has to offer. read more

This place is always busy, they're that good. Food is amazing every single time. i cannot recommend this enough! Friendly staff, amazing food!!! read more

Honestly I was very surprised by the authenticity of the ramen, the noodles and broth were amazing by any standard and it's not easy to find ramen in the US that reminds me of Japan! The spicy tonkotsu had a perfect amount of spice and the kuromayu ramen broth was deliciously flavorful. The customer service was wonderful as well, despite how busy they are everyone is very attentive and friendly and it was overall an awesome dinner experience. If I lived here I would be a regular for sure read more

This is our sons favorite place. Amazing food. But be prepared to wait if you have a party of three or more, but it's worth the wait. We love adding the mushrooms and order the spicy on the side. Then you can make it as mild or as hot as you want. read more

Didn't see what the hype was all about. The ramen wasn't very flavorful at all. Fried pork rinds were different and were pretty good. But the ramen was no where near as good as Naruto. Nice atmosphere though. read more

I don't normally leave any review at all but this time I have to say something about how amazing Kami Ramen was, the chicken Katsu was super juicy and crispy and it was consistent throughout the whole dish, the gyoza was so fun to eat and has so much flavor and lastly the Tan Tan Men Ramen was the best ramen I had in Alaska! I'm not going to lie, I'm not a big broth fan and I tried other places ramen broth but it would never satisfaction me, but the Tan Tan Men Ramen broth was absolutely positively delicious and if I had the gas money to drive out from Chugiak every day and eat the Tan Tan Man ramen I would!!!!! And don't get me start on the service! It was amazing! The moment my date and I walked in we were greeted at helped right away. And the moment we sat down the server was extremely helpful, friendly, and kinda. I don't know about my date because he was glued to his phone the moment they sat down. But with the warm welcome I received and the inviting atmosphere of the restaurant it didn't make feel like I was eating semi-alone. I'm 100% trilled that Kami Ramen open in Alaska and I do see myself eating at this restaurant again and bring family and friends! read more

Really sad to have to rate this place this low. It was my favorite ramen spot for a while and I'd go, no exaggeration, every day. Kami Ramen was my happy place. But the last time I went, I was VERY disappointed. The service was lackluster, my food was cold and the ramen lacked that slow-cooked-for-6-hours taste that marks the difference between a real good bowl of ramen and something that tastes like tonkotsu flavored vitamin water. It's really fallen off and that bums me out, because I had considered it to be the best ramen spot in Anchorage. read more

My husband and I eyed this place coming through from the airport. Decided to stop by and absolutely glad we did. We didn't realize they were five minutes to closing, but they still accommodated us while being super gracious. The place is cute and quaint and makes great use of the space, but the ramen was great. We've had delicious ramen while living in Hawaii and California and we're super glad we found a gem here in Anchorage. Simple, delicious, authentic. No frills, just straight great food. Would recommend to all looking for a satisfying meal, kind service, and an overall welcoming atmosphere. Coming here again for sure. read more

Nice change for Anchorage, I love the variety of tasty ramen, the best part is watching the cooks prep the meals!

Dopest dope I ever smoked. And by dope I mean Ramen. And by ever smoked I mean best Ramen I've had outside of Japan.

My friend said this was the closest thing to a Japanese Ramen shop outside Japan she's experienced. Always busy every time we go. Menus small but you cant go wrong. 11/10 recommend. read more

The service has been kind of mediocre but the food is very good. I've tried all the ramen options and am very impressed. Their vegan option is great, too. read more

This place is a Dimond in the ruff. Very quaint setting but the food is what makes it!! I've eaten there twice with family and friends and we have all been impressed. The flavor of the bone broth is superb and the helpings are plentiful. The menu is selective and all dishes seem to be superb! Try it out, you won't be disappointed! read more

Awesome service and food! Anytime we want Ramen this is where we go, because we know it will be great.

Great little place with great food! We were seated before our scheduled time and even though they were swamped, our service was prompt and personably friendly. Started with calamari and followed with two yummy ramen bowls. Busy, so have patience or take out, but don't miss it! read more

Easily the best ramen in Anchorage. We've been here a couple of times now, and both times had a very short wait. Can't recommend Kami Ramen enough. read more

Had the spicy Miso Ramen. The food was very good and the server very fast, efficient and friendly. I highly reccomend if you are in the area. read more

The server was friendly and took the time to explain the different choices to me. The restaurant while small was clean and the food came out fairly quickly and it was delicious. read more

We were just in town for a night waiting for an early morning flight. Great place to eat! It has good choices of flavorful broth in great ramen. We had the chicken katsu as well as gyoza. I would eat here weekly if I lived in Anchorage. Very close to the Aloft Hotel as well. Go by and enjoy. Tell Jia that the Gallaghers from Southern Maryland sent you. read more

Food is real good, definitely would eat here again. Waiting line took a little long but it was totally worth it.

As soon as we walked in, the delicious smell gave away just how authentic and delicious it was! The calamari, chicken katsu, spicy tonkatsu ramen, tonkatsu ramen, and shoyu ramen were all delicious. Such a great little hidden gem, I'm glad we went to a different restaurant today rather than just our usuals. Definitely will be coming again! read more

Food was really good and staff was nice. My only complaint is the building is very small so they can't seat many people at a time and waits are long. read more

I hate writing this; I don't want to share my secret favorite ramen place - it's already starting to get too popular. That said, having lived in northern Japan for 3 years and California for over ten years, this is some of the best ramen I've had. I'm not going to describe every ramen broth; I'll just say they are all delicious, authentic, and made with attention and care. In the last month we have eaten there over a dozen times - I'm not proud of that; it's an addiction. My current favorites are the chashu pork buns (savory pork, vegetable garnish, in a steamed rice bun like a mini taco - not meant for sharing), homemade gyoza (with kind of a crispy fried hat on top), and mochiko (fried) chicken appetizers and the shoyu, miso, and tonkatsu ramens, though the chicken chasu don (savory grilled chicken and rice) is also legit. I recommend using the waitlist around lunch and dinner rush hours. If the owner wasn't so nice, I wouldn't have written this, so I could get easy seating whenever I want, but seeing as the secret is out you might as well try it, ya filthy animals. read more

Hands down the best Ramen house in Alaska!! The staff was friendly and inviting with great service. The ramen is authentic and delicious. I will be a regular! 10 stars!! read more

Today was the first time I ate here today. The portions are small and the service is poor and deceptive. I ordered a bowl of ramen which is $15 and had an add on of one egg for $1.50. I also ordered a can of coke for $2.00. The server comes up to me and offers me the appetizer menu which she says it is half off which is $5.00 after 3 pm. When i asked for the bill, the owner charged me $29.00 for my total. Basically, she charged me for full price on the appetizer based on the assumption that I didn't know about their half off specials after 3 pm! They don't itemize their billing summary so be aware of this deceptive tactic to overcharge customers. The asian manager or lady owner with the short hair still billed me $25.00 instead of $23.50 which is the correct bill! If these people want gratuity in the form of tips then they shouldn't deceive their customers by overcharging them! I'm not going to give these people the benefit of the doubt and I might report them to the Better Business Bureau for these unscrupulous acts of billing! read more
