Ambiance is very up a coming urban trendy. Mix of dis de old muertos colors flowers and graffiti urban. The service at bar was fantastic. Beyond attentive, fast and excellent at answering any questions. The food was great. Boyfriend chose a fried roll which I'm rarely a fan of mixing but I knew I would just nibble. It was pretty good just too heavy for my palate. Tacos were great although one was overloaded on meat and other was barely half full. Cocktails we're excellent which I categorize slightly over food because I won't lie ..I'm kinda a lush. The patrons and staff were fun to hang out with and I will definitely come back to explore more... read more

I went to Happy Hour there this evening. The waiter was rude. I was a woman on my own. There were very few people there. He took issue with that I wanted to sit in a booth. I ordered tacos as it's Taco Tues. The tacos were tiny and tasteless . The Margarita was the smallest I have ever had for 10$ at Happy Hour. I would not recommend read more

The quesabirria tacos were amazing as well as the enchiladas verdes. We've never had a bad server, they're all amazing. Some of the music was a 'choice' but it was nice. I've only been here for lunch so I can't speak for the night atmosphere but for lunch, it's a great spot to grab a bite. read more

after seeing all the hype on IG regarding Kalaveras we decided to try it out. To our surprise there was one in simi valley (i am in chatsworth). Gathered up my friends and we went on over. Food was amazing, we got 2 carne asadas and a shrimp skillet. Ontop of that we got a few beers and margaritas in. Our server was great as well as the other servers who were helping bring the food/drinks. It wasnt fairly packed when we got there but then it did start to fill up. I did love the vibe that was in there. Would we go back? Absolutely, for all that we ate and drank...the bill was very affordable. read more

Great New Mexican spot in the simi area. Love the inside of this place, very unique!! The service is very friendly and attentive. My favorite margarita here is the cucumber margarita. Chips and salsa are great, although I with they made another red salsa that wasn't smoked tasting. The tacos I tried here are great except for the carne asada. The asada was super dry and not a great quality of beef. The Birria tacos are amazing, but keep in mind the tortilla is not as crispy as other places. I loved the Al pastor street taco and the chicharron , delicious ! Would recommend this place. read more

This is definitely a restaurant with a cool vibe! A place to go to be part of the action! Evident by the bar as the center attraction! And the beautiful murals on the walls! The food is pretty typical for Mexican. The food is not on the cheaper side but the portions are a good size. The food was good but not great- I couldn't taste distinctive flavors from spices in my food! The best part was the salsa: the salsa had great flavors! Salsa came with the chips! There is happy hour and daily specials. The daily specials are throughout the day: on weekdays (mon-thurs). Also happy hour specials from 3-7. Monday is margarita night with a glass for 8 and pitcher at a discounted price. Worth a try! Come visit! read more

My boyfriend and I went during happy hour and on a Tuesday as well. So we got one menu out of the happy hour menu which was the loaded asada fries for $8 which we think that it was such a good deal. It tasted good and it was a lot of portion. We also ordered the tacos for .99 cents each ( tacos: pollo, barbacoa, asada, chicharrón, and carnitas). The tacos were okay except the chicharrón, the chicharron was really good, the other tacos were just okay. It was pretty busy, however the service was good. The ambiance inside the restaurant was great but pretty loud. read more

Came here last night with a large group and we all had a great time! Ambiance was open, loud, fun...Definitely not for those who don't enjoy loud music. I started with the margartia flight, for $35, do not feel it was worth it but very much enjoyed the Chupacabra margarita. Chips and salsa were okay, just average. Service was great, though the food was slow (they're still new so I can understand this, didn't hold It against them). Food was average at best, nothing I would necessarily crave but can enjoy with some drinks. I did enjoy the quest fundido, though it was served with tortillas and I prefer chips (we didn't get chip refills so couldn't use any). Overall, fun experience. Great cocktails. Price point was fair. Great music. read more

Kalaveras has been a disappointment. The first time was excellent when they had recently opened, and we were there early on a Sunday and had their buffet- it was good because they had a variety. However, ordering from their menu has not been a good experience, we ordered for my nephew from the kid's menu. The fries were dry, hard , hazardous for a child and they looked like they were from previous days. We had to request a new batch. The chicken has so hard and zero flavor. My mom ordered tacos and received the incorrect meat. The wet burrito was bland, with more rice than protein. The food is made with no love. The waitress was great. The place is really loud. read more

The food was already great, but Amber made the entire experience next-level. Easily one of the best servers I've ever had--super attentive, fun, and went above and beyond without missing a beat. She turned what would've been a normal night out into something special. Safe to say... she just gained a regular. Do yourself a favor and request Amber! read more

They serve overly sugary drinks for an over price. I see why the place was empty even during "happy hour." I will not be back.

I made a reservation two days in advance for the Friday "Banda night." Host sat us quickly and then we didn't see a waiter for 25 minutes but I knew it was busy.. Once he came he didn't greet us and said "You need to buy a bottle or spend a minimum of $300 to sit here." and walked away again. Didn't take anyone's order. Didn't see him again for 30 minutes. Finally ordered food and drinks. Food was very delicious. I would like to try to get a better experience maybe on a time it's not so busy. read more

I booked a reservation through OpenTable for Friday afternoon at 3 PM. When I arrived, I told the gentleman by the front door that I had a reservation. He told me to sit where I would like. Being alone and not wanting to take up a larger table, I chose to sit at the bar. I had a couple of guava margaritas which were delicious. The sweetness of the guava combined with the salty, spiciness of the tajin rim was perfect. I ordered the queso fundido with corn tortillas to eat. Also, delicious. The chorizo adds just enough heat. Unfortunately, Kalaveras reported me to OpenTable as a no-show for my reservation. Perhaps, when a customer tells a staff member that they have a reservation, they should look it up and make sure it's documented correctly. If I go again, I'll make sure to speak with a manager upon arrival and get the names of the employees I deal with. read more

Food is OK but not great. Fajitas are not worth the price. Babacoa was ok but needed more salt. Service is the real problem. Servers hide behind the counter and you have to search for them for something that you want. Chips and salsa came with food and server told us you have to ask for it?!?! Music is so laud. read more

Usually love coming here and we get it can get busy. We came on a Friday night, knew it would be crazy, told 20 min wait, ended up being 30 mins, totally cool. Got sat, waited 15 mins, no one came to take our order at least for drinks. I went and told the hostess and she went to check for me, she came back and said after a couple of shows they would come to us and nope still nothing another 10 mins later. The music was popping but I was disappointed with the lack of acknowledgment. Saw a couple of waitresses in their phone by the kitchen but maybe they weren't ours? Anyways we left and went to BWW. I feel bad for the people waiting :( read more

I want to give Kalaveras another shout out! Because 1- I want this place to stay longer than a year like everything else In simi valley. 2- Every time I go I never wait more than 5 minutes to be seated, the waiters are GREAT, the food is delicious and the drinks! Are great! 3- The atmosphere in this place is so positive and family friendly. I can have a drink and feed my kids ! It is my go to when I'm craving a cocktail with my girls. read more

Came here for an important birthday celebration, service was Very Slow, got charged for bottomless drinks but they only brought ONE, didn't offer any more, or alternative options, we came for brunch and imo they didn't have any reason to be so slow or avoid us, there were ample servers and only a handful of tables. We brought a cake and they said that was ok, but they didn't offer to serve it or even offer us plates to do it ourselves. We had to send it home with the birthday girl and let her have it alone after lunch. It was a really sad disappointment for her, we asked for the manager and he was super dismissive and didn't offer any help or follow up. I felt my group was so polite and easy going. We were so disappointed won't be back. read more

My friend and I dined at your restaurant on February 24, 2026. I wanted to take a moment to share our experience. I would like to recognize your host, who was absolutely amazing. She made us feel genuinely welcome from the moment we walked in. Additionally, the food runners/servers who brought our food and drinks were wonderful -- they delivered everything with a smile and made us feel appreciated as guests. Unfortunately, our experience with our waiter was disappointing. Throughout the evening, we felt rushed, as though we were inconveniencing him. Initially, we tried to give the benefit of the doubt. It was a Tuesday night and not busy, with only a few tables occupied, so it was surprising to feel hurried. We were also not provided with utensils when we were seated. We had to request napkins, and he brought only three with an expression that made us feel uncomfortable asking. When we asked for more, he appeared bothered before eventually bringing three additional napkins and two utensils wrapped inside them. Giving 2 stars only because the host and other staff were wonderful. read more

Tried this place out a few weeks ago. I saw the menu online. It looked like a pretty decent happy hour menu so we decided to stop by. The music was popping. They had the laker game on, which I could appreciate. The bartender Josue made some EPIC drinks. I'd recommend this place for a chill night out. read more

My husband and I visited on a Monday night. It was very empty as it was only 5pm. The service was slow and the drinks were a disappointment. I got the Mai Tai and it was all juice. Very hard to drink. My husband got a Margarita strawberry slushie, was also all juice. The waitress was absent so we didn't send back. We will give the Simi location a try, as we have been told that one is better. read more

Worst service ever. I will not be returning to this location. Our server never came by or even came to give us the check. This was one of the worst dining experiences I have ever had. He was way more concerned with dancing for the other tables and even lifting another employee onto his shoulders...weird. The food and drinks were good but the service was lacking. Waiting 30 minutes for the check, forgetting your tables, and forgetting to put in orders is not okay. read more

Nina was a great bartender. Very quick service and helpful. Fun environment to hang out and have a good time.

The Sunday brunch buffet was good, and the server Hema tried her best for being short staffed. The people who didn't order alcoholic beverages waited forever for their drinks. This is a loud atmosphere so don't come for a romantic lunch. There's more of a vibe here with a big group if you're into that, it's a Fun place. read more

Ambience and service were great! I would recommend ordering the Esquite and the potato taquitos! So good. However, the tacos were a bit dry- salsa helped.
