If you only have one drink, make sure it's the Fade to Black--it's my personal go-to and definitely worth trying. For food, I usually gravitate toward their flatbreads, but you really can't go wrong with anything on the menu. What really sets The Peel apart, though, is the service. Alan has always been incredibly helpful, friendly, and accommodating, and the overall service is consistently outstanding. It's a great place for happy hour after work, getting together with friends, or hosting events. I've had a few events there myself and continue to go back--and that says a lot. Highly recommend The Peel!

We were there on Sunday, October 3rd around 3pm. We asked who the owners were because we were really impressed with the place and thought they might be the same owners as another location we had visited. There was absolutely no bad intention behind the question. The male bartender told us that no one name drops anymore. I understood what he was saying and was more than willing to move on. But then I asked him if the bar offered whiskey sours and he responded, "You really don't know what you're doing here and what you want." I was honestly so taken back by that comment. I don't normally stay quiet when someone speaks to me disrespectfully, but I was so caught off guard that I didn't even know what to say. Before that, he had also yelled out to the host that she didn't need to worry because we didn't know the owners and that she could relax. The whole interaction was completely unnecessary and made us feel very uncomfortable. We came in wanting to enjoy the atmosphere and have a good time. Instead, we left feeling disrespected and uncomfortable. There is a way to speak to customers, even if you feel they are asking questions you don't like. We did nothing to deserve that kind of attitude. The Blind Rabbit may be a great place, but unfortunately, the way we were treated by this bartender completely ruined the experience for us. Customer service matters, and unfortunately, ours was extremely disappointing.

Her warmth, genuine conversation, and generosity made us feel so welcome as tiki newbies just finding our sea legs. We each tried a Snaquiri, too- and several of these ended up being some of our favorite drinks of the entire trip! Erica sent us off with amazing memories, recommendations, and what was essentially an itinerary and syllabus for our Southern California tiki adventure. We're so grateful for her enthusiasm and willingness to share her love and insight. The only downside was that Strong Water set the bar ridiculously high- it ended up being our best experience of the entire trip O_o If you're anywhere near Anaheim, Strong Water is an absolute must. It's $45 per person. We put ourselves down for a reservation through OpenTable. They require a card to hold the reservation but do not actually charge you. We arrived on time and were seated out on the covered patio. I was a little worried since it had been raining but the patio was comfortable and dry. We were told that we could choose two teas for our party of four. We opted for the Golden Oolong and the Imperial Green teas. My cousin is lactose intolerant but they had no alternative milks, which is weird for a restaurant serving the local population. Most teas we've been too had some sort of alternative milk: soy, almond, oat, etc. Luckily, she brought her lactose pills. We asked for additional sugar cubes as our container was not full when we received it. Once that was out of the way, they brought us out some individual portions of shumai and then our towers. They brought out two towers for our party of four. We were instructed to start at the bottom and move our way up but we are rule breakers and we started in the middle with the fresh veggie wraps and tofu dip. Let me just say, the tofu chili crisp combo slaps! It's so good. We were skeptical at first but we all enjoyed it immensely. Next up, I tried the tea egg salad sandwich and BBQ pork pastry. I decided to save the BBQ pork pastry for my husband. The honey walnut shrimp toast was also a surprise bite. It was not anything I would have expected. As for the sweets, I enjoyed all of it. The black sesame cookie was delicious. The mango sago was my favorite. The egg tart had gold leaf flecks on it which made it fancy! The fresh strawberries were a nice palette cleanser. We requested some boxes for the bites we wanted to save and they dropped us the check. I was confused at first because I thought we were charged initially when we made the reservation almost a month prior but our server let us know that it just just a hold. If we had been double-charged, we could just call Qua and let them know to correct it. We had a lovely experience and I would totally do it again. 5 stars.

We walked in around 3-4pm on a Tuesday- place was empty... There wasn't a soul inside. There was a bar tender cleaning glasses and he looks up and says "you guys looking for a place to sit?" I instantly responded "No, we're looking for lunch is this place open?" He seemed so bothered by us which was the second red flag after his lil "looking to sit down" comment. He proceeded to sit us down at the farthest corner from the door. We ordered our drinks. And when the waiter brought my friends coke, it looked so flat it almost looked like ice tea from 10 feet away. It was so obvious that it had no carbonation. I made a joke about it and we laughed. There wasn't a single bubble of carbonation in the entire glass, it was so bad. We joked and laughed about it when the waiter came back my friend said to him " I think this is the flattest coke I've ever been served" in a joking manner (it literally looked like ice tea) the waiters reaction was sooooo rude, he rolled his eyes, said something to my friend in a snarky tone which I didn't really hear but the way he grabbed the drink and walked away was really unnecessary and overly aggressive He was so bothered by him serving us a flat Coke? I didnt understand why he took that snarky attitude but my friend works as a waiter so his solution was to throw money at the waiter in hopes that he would stop treating us like we were 2 homeless dudes in a soup kitchen. When he brought the drink (as an olive brand and so he wouldn't spit in our food )my friend handed him a 20$... every time he came to our table my friend would hand him 20$ in cash and apologize. He came at least 3-4 times to check on us but I was already no feeling his vibe. My friend tipped him significantly more than what our bill even was. I was upset by that but my friend said it's a server/waiter thing. So if someone treats you poorly you throw money at them? I don't get the logic But regardless... There's a reason why nobody was here at this business during lunch. Food was mid. Nothing special. Service was bad, confrontational and just over the top sassy for no reason. I don't recommend I wouldn't come here even if it was free!

For a moment, you forget you're sitting in Orange County. It feels more like a restaurant you'd stumble across in Mexico City than one tucked along Main Street. The premium tacos are the kind of thing that make conversation stop for a minute. Rich, deeply flavored meats piled onto a tortilla with beans, salsa, and cilantro. Messy and satisfying. The green sauce chilaquiles are outstanding. Bright, tangy, and packed with flavor, topped with eggs that turn the whole thing into something greater than the sum of its parts. The guava French toast is pure excess in the best possible way. Sweet, sticky, indulgent, and completely worth ordering. The only disappointment was the Café de Olla. It never quite found the warmth, spice, or depth that makes the drink special. Still, this is a kitchen that knows what it's doing.
