I left an earlier review of 5 stars. However, today's lack of decent customer service prompted me to write another review. When I walked in, there was no greeting, no smile, nothing. I asked if I should order a lunch special or a bowl because I was not sure how it works. He just said "as you like." Recommendation (because I'm about solutions, not just complaining): make it clear what will give the customer the most for their money - 9.99 for the lunch special or 8.99 for the chicken schawarma bowl. I then started ordering and said I'll see how many topping I want to figure out if I should get the special. If the special is $1 more but includes rice, 4 toppings and an appetizer, how does that work if I do a bowl? Do you put it all in a bowl? Again, confusion for the customer- please make it clear. So I ordered the chicken schawarma bowl with rice and 4 toppings, one of which was baba ghanouj. Could I have ordered the lunch special and had the baba ghanouj as my appetizer? I didn't care to ask at this point because I felt like an order that the employee had to just "get through." Recommendation: hire employees who are friendly and helpful. I asked for hot sauce and tahini. Tahini he wanted to charge $1, so I declined. The hot sauce smelled like cheap Tabasco, so I threw it out when I got home. If you want free tahini and hot sauce (more like a green chutney) that customers can serve themselves after ordering, go to Naf Naf, it's delicious. And smiles with service. Recommendation: research what competitors are doing, sauce quality they are serving, etc. In a nutshell, I don't care how good the food is, sub-par service always leaves a bad taste in my mouth. read more

When you go in and order your food, the person making the food does not ring it up or write it down. So they keep asking what you ordered. Very unorganized and no process. When you have multiple people come in. Don't expect to get your food first. We had to wait 30 mins after 3 to 4 other had gotten there food. Now to the food, the pictures are deceiving, For a Saturday evening, the veggie toppings didn't look fresh. The food in general was bland and was very less for the price. Came here last Sunday right as they were closing - yes I know that's a bad idea but there was nothing else I wanted. You'd think closing time would be terrible time for ordering food as you would probably get stale items left out all day. Not here - the cook made everything fresh and was happy to do so. I could tell a lot of care and attention to detail was taken in preparing our food. Everything we ordered tasted amazing and fresh and very flavorful. I travel for work and passed this on my way to the airport and decided to try it. The food is delicious and the customer service was outstanding! KabobQ came highly recommended by a friend so I went to check it out for myself. When I first walked in the restaurant seemed a bit dark but as I walked in to order the atmosphere had better lighting. Once I reached the counter to place my order I was greeted with friendly smiles and courteous staff. The menu is pretty basic with easy to order options. I ordered the steak shawarma platter with a side of tabouleh and my friend ordered the shish tawook sandwich with french fries. The food was prepared fresh and on the spot so it took a little bit of time to prepare which I personally prefer considering every restaurant strives to provide their customers with better quality food. The only thing that needs improvement would be the dessert options considering that they are Middle Eastern restaurant and only offered a slice of cheesecake at that time. Otherwise the restaurant was clean, the staff was friendly, and the food was excellent. Overall I like KabobQ and would go there again. read more

I had a Restaurant.com coupon and we wanted something quick and close so we tried Kabob Q. We usually frequent another Mediterranean place in the area. The place is an "order at the counter" format with a varied menu. The service was standard - I ordered a chicken kabob which took some time to grill so our meal was prepared in stages. We started with hummus which was the best part of the meal - flavorful and creamy, although I thought the pita was a bit stale. My husband had the Lentil soup (good) and a Falafel pita which he thought was good. My kabob and rice were fair. The chicken was dry and chewy so I ate only two pieces but the rice was fluffy but a bit bland. All in all, our experience was one that would probably not prompt us to return to Kabob Q, unless we had no other options. read more

I got the combo platter which is a $25 killer deal for all the food. Some of the meats were a bit dry but I enjoyed the food. I actually enjoy well cooked meat especially because I'm pregnant. It was a great variety of stuff and included falafel beef and chicken shawarma, kofta kabob, chicken kabob, beef kabob, rice. Pickled, grilled onions and tomatoes to the side. CON: They are kind of stingy. I felt like I had to ASK for certain things that should already been done. Such as, giving me some of the tahini sauce or spicy sauce with the platter. When I asked the gentleman at the counter he literally gave me ONE tahini and ONE spicy sauce... for a huge $25 combo platter that feeds 4. Next thing was I ordered Lebanese hummus and they asked if I wanted pita (uh, duh) and gave me one pita. Never have I ever went to a middle eastern restaurant and gotten only ONE pita with the meal. After having an issue with a pick up we preordered, I went to the restaurant to get a refund and got to meet the owner of Kabob Q, Feras. He explained what happened and was empathetic to the situation, offering a full refund and giving me a complimentary meal. Of all the restaurants I've been to, I've never met an owner who seemed to care as much about his business as Feras does. I didn't want to take a free meal, but he was firm in his resolve so I ordered a chicken shawarma bowl. Their chicken was fresh and their hummus was creamy, and this is the only Mediterranean place I've ever been where the rice was cooked to perfection. If you go, and you should, definitely give their garlic sauce a try. This place has the delicious, complex flavor of an authentic Middle Eastern restaurant, but with the added benefit of being user-friendly, fast, and exceptionally clean. My friends and I had chicken shawarma, chicken kabob, and steak shawarma. All three meals were delicious, and all of us had leftovers to take home for later. I just thought this place was ok. I had steak schwarma bowl and the steak was kinda dry and the taste was just ok. I usually go to damascus falafel which I think is slightly better but same concept. My favorite so far is kebab house in bensenville but it's a half hour drive from where I live. I also recommend pita pita in Lombard. For $9 for lunch Monday tyou get double what you get at this place!!!!!! read more

I ordered quite a bit of food from this restaurant last night. To put it nicely I was very disappointed, but will get to the food later. First of all I ordered a combo supreme which said on the website was $25. When I called and ordered it I told the man that the website said it was $25 he in for me he was in the process of changing the prices and his webpage and that it was now $30. I hesitated but I sent him a screenshot of the website that said the combo supreme was $25. He mumbled something about how I've seen the price at $25 and he would only charge me for $25 I thanked him. However when my son went to pick up the food I was charged $30. This is really bad business practice. The food was mediocre at best the rice was under cooked and none of it was very tasty. Like I said , big disappointment. read more
