They do have Gender Neutral Restrooms, which as a woman, I do not prefer. I had my usual avocado from my bag. This spot is a great addition to the variety of restaurants in the strip, right next to the other halal eats. However, there's another shawarma place not far from here on the same side of the road, two lights down. So it's a tad confusing but they said this is owned by Palestine's for sure. I opted for takeout, as the small space was quite packed with a big group of women. The chicken shawarma wrap was quite filling on its own. But the pickles had an unpleasant taste so I had to remove them. Friendly staff, Fresh Food, tons of toppings, you can order a bowl, wrap, pita or baguette with your choice of protein and toppings. Alhamdulillah for another great halal addition to Roosevelt Road. I love this spot not just for the Palestinian decor and Muslim-friendly ambience, but food. I was excited to see that both Hello Shawarma and Original Shawarma would be opening on Roosevelt Rd within minutes of each other. I've been to Hello Shawarma in Bridgeview several times, so it will be nice to have options closer to home. I went to Original Shawarma to get a bashka sandwich for takeout. It was 4 pm in the afternoon and it was surprisingly busy. They had a steady stream of customers and phone orders coming in. The interior is kind of small, with about 3 large table and 3 small tables. I didn't love the mostly black interior, but it probably caters to a younger crowd. I ordered a lamb bashka, and it took a good 20 minutes or so. They pack up the sandwich in a nice box, basically the same as Hello Shawarma. They included garlic sauce, tahini sauce, and pickles. The sandwich itself was pretty good. It was reasonably filled with meat and other ingredients, and was flavorful. However, the lamb was a bit too salty, and the bread was slightly greasy. I like Hello Shawarma's bashka a little better, but Original Shawarma isn't bad. I'm looking forward to trying other items. Service was friendly and pricing was very reasonable for the size of this sandwich (i.e. it was enough for two people). read more

We ordered the food on line for pick up. We were feeding 6 adults & 4 kids. The shawarma wraps were FANTASTIC! each kids loved them. The adults got the mixed orders chicken & lamb with salad very yummy. The falafel were very crispy & not oily - great appetizer. Roaches. We ordered this on DoorDash right now at the hospital new born room. The drink holder was infested with roaches. Had to frantically kill a dozen roaches in post partum room. Stopped in on a late Tuesday evening. We're the only people there but Tuesdays are generally a slow restaurant day. It was my first time eating shawarma. We both got chicken on a pita. The flavor was amazing but the chicken was dry. It was not freshly carved for our order because we could see the gentleman making them. Again flavor was good just a little dry. Now their French fries were spectacular!! Loved the painting on the east hall. Only thing I would complain about the ambiance is the music was too loud. We will be back to try some other items.
