An outstanding chicken kabob entree with basmati rice and a lovely salad!
    Raymond K.

Greetings: Places I love to write about are the places that a little bit of luck, a little bit of gut feeling, and a little bit of curiosity, all combine to lead me to a restaurant that I would never find on my own. Better yet, when I approach a potential restaurant, then go through a lengthy discernment about whether or not I go inside and actually eat, only ups the ante for the thrill of the hunt of finding great unexpected gems in the quest for great off the beaten path food. Today's entry will celebrate my next great find: Kebab Land in Atlanta, Georgia. First, I'll begin by giving credit where credit is due. I was traveling home from Florida with my son and I asked him, "take a look and see what you see for good eating opportunities around our hotel in Buckhead." he pitched the idea of kebabs, and the adventure started right there... Kebab Land is a heartbeat away from the Buckhead neighborhood in Atlanta, and it is a gem that flies quietly under the radar, even to some of the local staff at the hotel who had not heard of the winner we stumbled across. At first glance when you walk up to Kebab Land, you realize it is a restaurant and also a hookah bar. While their Internet presence does say "kid, friendly," the greeting we received from two very well prepared security guards at the restaurant entrance told me that our dining location might be a bit livelier than your local Olive Garden. After a quick, but thorough, frisking, and several minutes of pleasant conversation, we went in inside to determine whether or not we are going to eat on the patio or eat inside the restaurant. I would like to recognize Marquise and Kevin's professional demeanor throughout our conversation. While it was a sweltering night in Atlanta, and the idea of indoor air conditioning for dinner sounded appealing, the haze of hookah smoke helped us decide that we were going to eat on the patio. While there were plenty of patrons enjoying the hookah, the open air and small hookah crowd did not detract from my meal. Heads up to anyone considering going, if secondhand smoke is a concern or factor in your decision-making, you might want to see what the crowd is like for yourself as you consider kebab land for a dining option. Service at Kebab Land was friendly, punctual, and attentive (thank you Priscilla!). Their menu choices for kebabs looked great across the board. After eating barbecue for three days straight, I opted to have a chicken kebab as a lighter entrée for the evening. In a word, my kebab as plated was spectacular. Perfectly cooked, perfectly seasoned, and the meal was rounded out with a generous serving of basmati rice and a fresh crisp salad with the perfect dressing. Oh how easy it would've been to turn around and walk away from Kebab Land given the presence of security guards, hookah bar atmosphere and other variables that gave me a moment of pause. Instead, my curiosity and my sense of adventure won out and saved the day. I would go back to Kebab Land in an instant, and I plan to do so the next time I am in Buckhead. Everything about my meal told me that the next one at Kebab Land will also be exceptional. Enjoy valet parking, as Raven is a mindful professional valet. May your own sense of adventure, and curiosity, help you find your next great unexpected gem in great eating. I am grateful that my stop at Kebab Land became a meal good enough to share with you instead of a missed opportunity and "one that got away." In my opinion, Kebab Land delivered quality and value across the board. Until next time...tk

Before visiting, I had never heard of this place before, but I'm so glad I was introduced to it! I ordered the salmon wrap to play it safe, and it did NOT disappoint. Fresh, flavorful, and filling. Definitely a great choice. 10/10 recommend!

I love it here ! The salmon is the best and I love the hookah ! They are open until 4a most nights! Valet parking is $8. They have specials everyday of the week ! Always come here when I'm in the area ! The green sauce is so good

What qualifies as a Tabouli salad at Kabob Land.
    Jan S.

Diced tomatoes with a sprinkling of parsley and maybe ... MAYBE 10 pieces bulgur wheat qualifies as a Tabouli salad here. Husband's Greek salad was full of spiny iceberg lettuce instead of the traditional romaine and topped with shredded mozzarella instead of feta. Strange. Chicken and shrimp kabobs were good, but the salads were a huge disappointment. Ordered for delivery so no real recourse.

Solid late night spot. If you need a drink at 230a, this is the spot for you. They have kabobs (obviously) and other Mediterranean type dishes (hummus, grape leaves, shawarma, etc). They do hookah, of course, and you can do inside and outside smoking if you need to. They share a tent with a Mexican spot so you can toggle between either of possible. Parking is not free, but it's only a couple of dollars to park. If you are picking up carry out, you may still use to pay for parking ... Just be aware... But it depends on what time of day I came in after club hours and it hit the spot. Got the chicken and fries. Both of them were good. Maybe it's because everybody was hungry after leaving the night of adventure, but the food definitely hit. The chicken was well seasoned, the fries were hot and crisp. If you're on a late night tip and need something, this is your spot to go to!

I am so in love with the food here. We got the mixed grill and salmon dish and they were so delicious. The sauces were some of the best and even the dressing onbthe salad. Only things that were slight negatives were the long wait times to be served. Being that it is a small restaurant it felt louder and a little too smoky due to the hookah but staff is so great. Definitely worth a visit and would not mind ordering from here again.

Decent spot right next to Red Pepper. Valet is only $2 Hookah is a hit or miss (usually a miss) also half off hookah between 11-4 daily The food is really good, I recommend the Salmon. Strong drinks (ask for the Turkish Tea) thank me later Indoor/outdoor and bar seating. Plenty of TVs if you want to watch sporting events Great atmosphere and even better service Only ONE bathroom so the line can get long. They search you at the door after a certain time. Stays open until 3am

Firstly I thought the whole building was owned by Red Pepper Taqueria but when you walk past it then you are at Kabob Land. They use the same valet parking $5 per vehicle so don't park next door at Georgio's. It's not a bad spot, just your typical eatery. I went with a group of 7 & we were offered seating inside or under the heated tent. They preferred sit us inside. Upon leaving I think because there was some popular instagram gentleman under the tent area. I ordered the gentleman (Hennessy & Grand Marnier) & Chicken Shawarma. The drink was good & strong. I only needed one for this evening. It was not too expensive either. The chicken shawarma plate was my choice over the gyro. It was great tasting & filling. Thankfully we were able to split up the checks due to the waiter asking prior so minimized any payment issues. Auto gratuity was charged, unsure if it is based on party or just in general.

Cool option if it's late and you're looking for a real meal but the meat was rather bland and very tough.

There was indoor and outdoor seating and we chose to sit outside as it was a beautiful night. We had amazing service, great food, in a really cute neighborhood. We were especially impressed with the staff, and we had a member come out more than once to check with one of the people dining with us who had food allergies to ensure that how they were offering the food would be safe for her. It was also impressive that this restaurant was so busy on a Monday night. There were three of us dining, and we didn't even order any of the meats, and there was plenty of food for us. From the Mazzes, we had the Omani Shrimp, which had a great dipping sauce and the Beet Carpaccio. (they were very accommodating and put the whipped feta on the side). For the Spreads, we did the hummus with mushroom, shisito and egg, which was amazing and the labneh with pickled fennel on the top. It's served with taftoun bread which I would describe as a mix of a cracker and pita with sesame on top. We also enjoyed a raw vegetable dish with radish and the most delicious apple slices. Their heirloom tomato salad was beautifully presented and plentiful. They had a flight of condiments and we were able to sample zhoug, spicy tahina and torshi, which was a mixture of pickled vegetables. We ended with a pistachio lava cake with the most delicious cardamon gelato. Overall, we had an amazing meal in their beautiful outdoor space, and we thought the food was really reasonably priced. There's something for everyone on this menu whether you're vegetarian, vegan or a meat eater.

We were greeted by smiles and a welcoming team at the host table and I quickly appreciated the Mediterranean charm of the restaurant -- I felt like I could have been in Rick's Cafe Americain or the Blue Parrot! The dim lighting offered a great blend of intimacy and privacy, while still letting me see the people at my table and the food! And the food! My goodness, the food! We had a wonderful sampling of shared appetizers. The hummus and Dill labneh were solid and would have been deemed more than worthy by my Lebanese grandmother! Olives were a revelation, and were done in a preparation that included pomegranate which paired really well with the brine of the olives! The star of the first round, however, was the whole cauliflower, roasted and spiced. Without reservation, I can say it is the most I have ever enjoyed cauliflower - and I shall return for it again! I was already full by the time my falafel arrived for my main course. Falafel was exactly as it was supposed to be, and it was good. I ate it all, and then, a la Violet Beauregard upon leaving the chocolate factory, had to be rolled out of the restaurant! Our server and his food runners were all gems! The manager also came by to chat with us a couple of times. Great people at Delbar!

The service has always been really great, and the owner is genuinely nice and always ready for a pleasant conversation. But sometimes the food comes out... average at best? I really only come here when I have the taste for mediterranean fare but don't feel like cooking it since it's so nearby. There are some things they do well. I like their baba ganoush, hummus, and beet salad. But other things are a bit lackluster and the meats can be a hit or miss. Sometimes it's dry, other times it's succulent. The pita is toasted, but you can surely tell it isn't made fresh. My husband is obsessed with wings and even he said the wings served here are a BIG no. Also cannot recommend the fries, as they've been notoriously dry and cold. Perhaps we should not have expected good wings given that it's primarily mediterranean fare lol. The parking situation is also abysmal. They share a really small lot and the individual spots are poorly marked. This place is off of Briarcliff and the traffic is notorious for being bad, so that makes coming and going that much harder in a lot that's already a little treacherous. When the parking lot is full, it is like playing 2-ton Tetris. I'll also note that the hours can sometimes be a suggestion, and they unexpectedly close earlier than indicated (but will leave a handwritten note). This place seems to be a local favorite. The prices are nice. I just wish it was more reliable with taste and quality.
