Just one call was sent to my home from American home Shield, my home warranty company, because my heating system was in op they decided that the unit needed to be replaced .......but I needed $1,900.+ dollars worth of parts that I easily could've purchased at Home Depot for under $75. Did I mention that the parts were not covered under the home warranty! Horrible customer service . Horrible Technicians . They send Bunch of kids straight out of High school with no experience to diagnose your AC system . While they are at it they also damaged the walls to our closet . All they care about is up selling higher priced repairs to your insurance without caring about the clients themselves. Look elsewhere for your AC repairs. UPDATE: while we were waiting for approval of our work order, the technicians left our unit connected to power while more than 6 cables were cut and left hanging inside the unit . After a total disappointment the day before from AHS who sent a contractor in to respond to our request to repair our HVAC ducts that were supplying nice cold air to our patio and an argument with AHS to confirm the only thing we were looking for was to have our leaking ducts repaired, Just One Call dispatched Simon to come out and provide a second opinion. Simon - who had already met and solved problems for 5 customer calls in the afternoon on a Friday, was dispatched to my call added to his schedule. It was already the end of the day but he did it, he arrived at 4:55 p.m. After I told Simon what was happening, he went right for the crawl space looking for air leaks in the ducts under my house. Simon had listened to my concerns, repeated to me what he heard and said, let me see if we can get this done for you! He got duct tape from his truck and dove in! He went to every duct under our house and sealed up 3 or 4 that were leaking. When Simon finally came out of the hole, he was a dusty mess, but confirmed my concerns, there were leaks and he fixed what he could. Congrats Just One Call...Simon did you proud! My condenser broke and was covered by home owner warranty. They referred me to Just One Call (JOC). Home Warranty only pays for the condenser (outside part). In order for the the compressor to be compatible with the cooling coil, warranty and JOC said I have to buy the cooling coil for $3000. My existing cooling coil still works but just not compatible with the new condenser. So what can I do even though the coil is in working condition??!! The condenser and the coil came but the coil did not fit the space first time. Richard said the Home Warranty gave them bad info on the coil measurements even though they measured the space before quoting me the cost for my share. Richard came back second time a week later with another coil that still did not fit. They were just 1/2" too high. JOC said they can either cut open the closet area or have me buy a new furnace that works with the coil in order to fit into the same space. The manager originally suggested the price of the furnace over the phone for a discounted $3000+/- price before they came the second time. I told them that I will ask Home Warranty to send over another vendor to help with the coil installation since they did not seem to have a solution that works with my situation. That was not in the original contract that we agreed to. What to do ?? I am over-budget!!! I was persistent and I seriously cannot afford buying extra items to replace the existing working items just to make the system work. Finally, Simon and Richard made the cooling coil fit in the original space. I did not need to buy a compatible furnace or have any part of my place cut off. I just thank God for that, and for Simon and Richard trying to make it work for me knowing my limited budget. They were attentive and offered me a 5-2-1 compressor saver for $200 that was supposed to have come with the older models but is sold as an add-on for my model. They even get me on YouTube feed to see the pros and cons. I checked with my air-con friend and he said I would get the most benefit if my unit is old and dying. I passed on the offer since I am getting a brand new unit. So I am thankful to God for my friend, that I am getting a new unit, and would not need the compressor saver. It took Richard 2 trips but it is working now. Richard is a patient and an understanding person. Simon is resourceful and creative. I promised them a good review if they do not cut open the closet or make me buy a new furnace that works with the coil as the JOC manager originally suggested over the phone. read more

I was nervous using my home warranty company for anything again but when it came to my AC breaking and triple digit heat this week, it was worth the risk. The first company AHS linked me with had terrible reviews so I cancelled the request. I asked them to link me with another company so they dispatched Just One Call. I was scared but hopeful because I didn't want to pass out from heat stroke. AHS luckily expedited my request due to having a toddler and cat in the home. Just one call arrived on time as planned and were able to see me the next morning. I was even running a little late getting to my house since I was staying elsewhere while the AC was broken. I forget the names of the 'technicians' who cam back in April. It was bizarre from the beginning. My service call was thru Fidelity, my Home Warranty. But when they arrived, they told me my stated problem, a very loud compressor, wasn't covered. But then they start pulling it apart. It became clear that at least one of the 2 was a trainee. He was being told every step. At the end, they changed a part, told me it wouldn't help the noise. (It didn't.) And then they tried to sell me a maintenance service and they said my unit was very dirty and needed it. Oddly enough, I HAVE an HVAC maintenance service and they were there the previous week. By then, I just wanted them GONE, so I didn't argue. (Did I mention attitude? Both 'technicians' were beyond 'curt', getting close to frightening.) read more

Great service! Garik just gave my AC system a tune up thanks to the LADWP AC optimization program. Everybody should do this while the program lasts. He added more coolant freon; that should help the upstairs of our house stay cooler. He changed our filters, and ran tests to make sure everything is running efficiently. He was friendly and helpful and made sure I understood everything I was eligible for through the program. I feel really happy knowing our AC is now in much better condition.
