I've never encountered such an honest vendor before, and this is not an exaggeration. To give you a bit of background, I was looking for an HVAC technician to recharge my unit with 407c Freon Coolant. I contacted about half a dozen vendors for quotes, and they all quoted prices ranging from $250 to $400 per pound. To replace 12 pounds of coolant, they quoted between $3,000 and $4,800, which I thought was outrageous. But then I contacted Calstar Heating & Air Conditioning, and Sasoun replied that the coolant costs just $55 per pound. I could hardly believe the price. He came to my house within three hours and completed the job, including some insulation patchwork, and only charged me for the coolant, which was $660. Sasoun is great and I highly recommend Calstar. Sasoun has helped us a couple times over the years, once during a heatwave he got our AC back up and running. More recently he's helped us balance the airflow to different rooms by adjusting the dampers. The dampers took him a couple trips (getting temp in different rooms right is a bit touch and go) but he treated it as a single service call in terms of price. I thought I needed him to add a damper for a certain room but when he went into the attic he found that it already had one and told me he would adjust the one that's already there instead of installing one.
