This is a late review I had eaten lunch there about 2 week ago. As the saying goes " Better late then never". Like everyone else I, too must change my eating habits for the better so I decided to try here. Upon entering the establishment I was greeted in a friendly, courteous manner. You can carry out or stay- I stayed. The place is small but, service was fast and food hot- not like warm. I notice it's popular with lunch call in orders. While I was eating my delicious meal chicken Marsala, brown rice & salad I didn't feel rushed and the music was at a decent level. Oh, I also had a Green smoothie. I will continue to patronize this establishment. Some may say it's pricey-- yeahhhh, but you get a lot of food and it's an better alternative then McDonald's, Burger King, Kennedy Fried Chicken and Chinese food. This is one of my go-to spots! I feel like pretty much everything on their menu is delicious and fresh. Their smoothies are made with real fruit which is great. I highly recommend their chicken Cesar wrap, pesto chicken wrap, creamy chicken crêpe, sweet potato fries, and their Hawaiian smoothie! Those are my favorite items on the menu. You really can't go wrong with this spot, the service is great (and they speak both English and Spanish), the food doesn't take long to be ready, and like I said before, the menu is great too! The only qualms were ones my hubby had about his omelette. The incredibly fine cut home fries were his fav, the wheat toast came w/o butter (though it was given gladly when he asked for it), and the mushrooms in it were under-cooked to his tastes. I moved out of the neighborhood several months ago and I really miss this place! Everything is fresh, delicious and beautifully presented. I have had the chicken mushroom crepe, tuna wrap, salads, lentil soup, juices, and all are fantastic. Whenever I'm back in the area, I always make sure to go here and I'm never disappointed. So I'm writing this review off a delivery order. We order from this place all the time. Food is fresh, overpriced but when eating healthy, have to do what you have to do. Today we ordered food, they got one wrap completely wrong. They were suppose to send a side order of shrimp that we paid 6.75 for extra. We called them to explain the mix up, they said they can't do anything because we already have the order. So basically we need to double check their delivery before we let the deliver guy leave! This is a horrible way to do business, honor your mistake! You've lost a daily customer for life due to not providing customer service. One of the few places you can deliver a fresh salad and their lunch specials are still pretty awesome. They have wheat grass shots! Sadly, I had to downgrade my review. I'm a repeat customer here to the point I walk in n the owner or cashier will say "your usual" just to give you an idea how often I come. So today I decided to order something different which came out to $9.31. I hand the owner my card and she looks at me and says "Sorry there a $10 Minimum, do you want a drink?" So I said "If you wont run my card for .69 (the difference from 10 to 9.31) then i guess I have to. So she grabs a drink my new total $10.81... As a repeat customer she being the owner should have let the 69 cents slide. There no way the credit card machine knows if it's 5,10, or 100 bucks. On top of that my ceasar wrap was a mess and just ok. What the owner did left a bad taste in my mouth and not too sure if ill be returning. The cali green juice and nutella crepes are great!!! I have also had the turkey burger which was okay and not greasy at all. Why two stars you ask? It has listed on here credit cards accepted: YES and Delivery: YES! However, don't confuse the two credit card is not accepted with delivery... I just don't understand with it being 2015 and the inability to pay by card. Now I have lamented that many places around this neighborhood just operate on cash and they don't ever get my business, because again it's 2015 who even goes into the bank anymore! Anyway not a problem if you're all cash, but this isn't the case for this place. You can pay with card if you walk in and now because of recent changes you can't pay by card for delivery. I'm a repeat customer and would stay one if they would change this policy back to accepting cards. It's all pretty ridiculous too when you think about the amount of fake money that circulates around this neighborhood. Charging my card ensures you get your money right then and it will decline if I don't have an real money in the bank. Can't say that about a fake $20. Meh. I got take out while staying at a friend's apt in Jackson Heights & we ordered the grilled skirt steak with mashed potatoes & vegetables. The steak was well done yet we ordered it medium even though it didn't ask for a temperature...we wrote it in the memo box for special directions. It was over cooked & although it wasn't incredibly tough, it really had no seasoning or flavor whatsoever. The vegetables were also lacking seasoning but the mashed potatoes were good. I'm sure some of the other things they offer are better but based on my experience I was not impressed or thrilled; it was lackluster to say the least. I only waited like 5 mins for my food. Considering it was made from scratch, 5 mins was really quick! What stood out for me in those 5 minutes was Leonor and her team knew to just kill time by conversing with me and being super friendly. So I decided to give this place another try. I'm an early bird and the other day I passed by opening time. I entered but no one was there fortunately I was happy someone came up from the basement and I was ready to just stroll and look at the menu, take a seat and feel comfortable. I wasn't going to pressure the employee right away. I guess I had my hopes to high because I immediately was greeted with an attitude and unpleasant facial expression "oh we're not open yet." I could understand businesses need time to open but at least don't welcome your customers as such. A "hello" would have changed the situation drastically or "please come back later." We love this neighborhood spot! We've ordered from this place quite a few times for brunch at home. If you want something savory the creamed chicken mushroom crepe is delicious. For sweet crepes I usually order Nutella with strawberries or peanut butter, Nutella, and bananas. They also have a bunch of other healthy options on the menu like smoothies and salads. Three years ago, I came here with my boyfriend at the time for dinner. I ordered the shrimp dish and when I tasted it, it tasted like ammonia. I tried a second piece, and again it tasted like ammonia. I asked them to take it back and they said something about how it might be because of the white wine, but I explained that it just tasted like it went bad. They remade it and after tasting the new batch, it was the same thing. I insisted that the cook/manager/whatever he was try it, but I don't think he ever did. I sent it back and was comped the dish. The next day, I had my first ever bout of seafood poisoning and had to leave work early. The worst restaurant experience I've ever had. I know food, and it doesn't take a trained chef to know that if seafood tastes like ammonia, it's cause it's gone bad. Also, white wine doesn't taste like ammonia.
