Dropped by here as I'm looking for a venue to host an event and seems like a lot of people online have commented frequently on a few places and The Ditty is one of them. Of course, nothing is set in stone until you have a chance to try out their grub so I went there just for that. Came by here to grab some dinner and the food did not disappoint. Ambiance is real chill vibes with the edison bulb lighting going on with games around if you're looking for some entertainment. They have a covered backyard area, but wasn't able to check it out since there was an event going on. I love this place! I've been here a handful of times pretty late. The kitchen is open late! I had a burger before and I enjoyed it. I had the fried chicken sandwich another time. The biggest thing about The Ditty is, this is one of 2 places in Astoria whose kitchen stays open until 4am. (Every day. No delivery however) So if you find yourself in the situation where you missed kitchen last call from all other Astoria restaurants, this is the place for you. And their food is actually pretty good. Red Neck Korean is one of my favorites and I definitely recommend it. It does have kumchee in it instead of the regular lettuce or cabbage but it's not spicy at all so if that's your concern, you have nothing to worry about. You should get that with fries, make sure to use the white sauce though since you might find those too salty without it Service is good. On weekend nights, this place pretty much turns into a nightclub (food still available) with DJ and all. So you'd get pretty much what you need no matter when you go, depending on day and time. Okay we've been here many times and usually have a decent experience but I just have to say it's so weird in terms of security, staff, whatever. We have been uncomfortable here with men being aggressive and security does nothing even if we complain, but if a girl is being louder or dancing suddenly then there's security to kick people out. I was looking for a practically last minute venue for my best friend's bridal shower and came across The Ditty. From the initial email to the end of the party, they were so sweet and accommodating. Katie, the woman I emailed back and forth with, was great the day of the event and made sure we all had everything we wanted and that the event ran smoothly. The drinks and food were so yummy. Such a fan of the yogurt, Smashburger sliders and shrimp and polenta. While I loved the sangria, I wasn't a fan of the rosé but others liked it. Space wise, it was very large and held our party of almost 30 people comfortably. We had space for a dessert table, a diy'd photobooth corner, a bouquet bar, and a gifts table. The space could have held a little more guests I think. The space was very bright and the high ceilings were impressive. This place is amazing, I brought my girlfriend here for date night and I couldn't have picked a better place. I got the double smash burger and it was exactly how I wanted it cooked and my girlfriend got the chicken Crunchwrap. That was so good we had to get another one to go! After dinner we decided to hit the bar for a little bit, and when I say you need to get the Head Hancho.. u need to get it!!!!! 10/10 drink, couldn't even tell u how many I had! This is such a great local bar! It has everything. During week nights, the bar has a casual atmosphere where you can bring a date or grab a drink with friends. It's dimly lit and the string lights hanging up above offer an intimate and cozy glow. During certain time of year the host events, such as a weekly movie nights throughout the winter. On weekends, typically after 10 you'll find a dj and a packed bar area. If loud bars with lots of people is your late night going out jam, the ditty is a great one to add to your list. If you're like me and that's not your scene, opt for a week night or before 10/11 on a weekend. My one area of improvement for the ditty is their cocktail list. They don't offer a huge variety and it feels like the kind of bar that should. If they added 3-5 more craft cocktails to their menu I think it would be a huge improvement. read more

I found this bar through GiveMeAstoria's post for the Prohibition Comedy show that's held on the last Thursday of every month. We arrived early as we were pretty hungry and had the Chicken Crunchwrap and Shrimp Po'Boy and 2 drinks each. I enjoyed my Crunchwrap and my boyfriend liked the Shrimp but wished they had an option of a Hawaiian roll for the bun. The bartender and server were both super helpful and got the drinks out fast for the amount of people there. Our food and 2 drinks each came out to $60 + tip. Onto the comedy - I can't believe the tickets were only $5! The lineup was fantastic and comparable to the city where I typically spend $100+ at these shows including drinks. I hosted a birthday event at the Ditty back in February and everything was perfect!!! I coordinated the event with Katie and she was great in communicating all of the packages the Ditty offered and was very helpful with any special accommodations we requested for dietary restrictions, special cocktail offerings, and decorations for the space. The backyard space of the bar was perfect for my event of about 20-25 people. Everyone fit very comfortably and we were able to play our own music through our laptop and had a projector to show picture slideshows. They even had a special custom menu for the event which was a nice touch! The service during the event was also spectacular and servers regularly took drink orders for all the guests. I would highly recommend the Ditty for any private events you would like to host if you are in the NYC area! read more

Sorry, Monopoly, Battleship, etc. I had a mule and two ciders and the mule was made perfectly. For dinner I shared the crab dip, fried chicken, and falafel. The falafel was legit, comparable to falafel in Israel. The fried chicken was probably the weakest dish but it was still good (if you want better fried chicken go to The Pomeroy). I came here for my boyfriend's 30th birthday party on a Saturday night and it was a great experience. We got there around 9 and automatically went to the backyard section which I recommend because it's way less crowded than the inside. We got two picnic tables together and the server came to us to give us our drinks. The atmosphere was so nice with string lights and cute decor. They played all type of music which was good for the group we had. The prices were decent if you just go regularly. I tried to inquire about reserving a section and they wanted to charge so much money but I got the same service for free by going early! So I had this place bookmarked and I had a chance to check it out before going to a music festival in the area. Parking can be tricky- street and metered. Parking lot is located about a block away as well This place has a very " local bar" feel to it. Not very big inside . You have the bar and then there is limited seating around the area. Thank God it wasn't that busy when I went . I was able to perch up at the bar. There is a lil outside patio on the back but no one was there when I went. Menu is small. Bartender was cool but seemed that maybe another bartender should have been there to help tend. I asked for a drink that was on an old menu called " safe word" and I enjoyed it. I would have tried someone off the new menu but I didn't have much time. I had my heart set on trying the buffalo cauliflower app and it was pretty good. On Friday/Saturday nights, they always have good music which consist of old school pop and r&b, good food, and nice people. Bar food is highly rated and not just "mediocre". They have someone behind the bar and someone else that takes care of the tables so you don't need to interrupt your flow to order more drinks. The ditty was great. It wasn't great that it took the waiter a long time to come over but it was Sunday Funday and there were a lot of people at the bar so. Anyway we sat at a table closer to the front window in perfect view of the whole place and played a few board and card games.! I asked the waiter to surprise me with a drink but he literally had no idea so nI just ordered the vodka Collins and it was fine. As a tequila lover, my friend ordered the Paloma and was obsessed do much we ended up getting 3 more during our visit. On to the food... I had a bit of an attitude because I could've sworn in previous reviews there was a lot more food offerings. However when we got there it was about 8-9 things.
