I asked for a balayage and a haircut, it seemed like Kylia and I immediately saw eye to eye on what I wanted done. Even while she was being heckled and hurried by a rude customer whose appointment was after mine, she didn't rush through my haircut and remained polite and professional. I had the hair stylist Tara. She was very nice, very professional but did not give me what I was looking for. I brought in a picture ( dark roots, lighter ends ombré look) instead I got very blonde highlights, probably the blondest I have ever been right up to my roots. The blond has a brass look to it, which is a BIG no no. I didn't want to leave with brass orange blond hair, but I had spent three hours in the chair already and it was hot due to no ac in the building I just wanted to leave. I left upset and I won't be back. She did state that I could come in to get it fixed, but I drove an hour to go to this salon. There was another woman Kyla, I think,who worked on my daughters hair and put in blue tips. She did fantastic! I was so pleased! When we went to pay however she charged $130, but I was quoted $60-$80. I was shocked the pricing was so off. Kyla ended up just charging me $80 which I was very thankful for. I wish the stylist were more vocal about what they are charging BEFORE they touch your hair. Also when a client brings in a picture, they should try to give them that. I've passed this place many times, but I thought it looked kind of cheesy 80s (which, to be fair, is a look a lot of places in Eugene are rockin'). But I needed a haircut and my neighbor raved about Nicole, so I gave it a shot. It turns out, on the inside this place is a modern, snazzy salon. The receptionist had awesome hair, was incredibly friendly, and offered me something to drink. Not long after, Nicole called me back. She is easy to talk to and interesting but most importantly really knows what she's doing. My hair is difficult - thin but there's tons of it and unpredictable, plus I don't have a good eye for things, so my hairdressers usually have to look at a few pictures and put something together that will work best with my face and weirdo hair. Nicole came up with something quickly, and not only explained to me what she was going to cut, but why and how. I trusted her, but I'm curious and like to learn. At the end, she told me all the products she used and why, but didn't try to sell me anything. Overall a very positive experience. They have a small bike rack out front; I had no problem locking up. There's a parking lot in back. Update: I've been to Nicole again & I like that she gives me haircuts that I can keep looking good with minimal effort. I try, but I'm lazy & clueless with hair. I only give 5 stars for repeated excellence. She is well-deserving! read more

I'm upgrading this place to five stars. Brandy has cut and colored my hair several times now, and it always looks fantastic. Today she gave me highlights, too, and I swear, I've never been happier with my hair. I have really, really difficult hair -- thick, frizzy, halfway between wavy and straight -- and I honestly had no idea it was even POSSIBLE for it to look this polished. She is also some kind of brow-wax wizard. She manages to wax them without inflicting any real pain, and they always look perfect. The prices are completely reasonable for the quality, too. I had to leave for a trip later that day and I was hoping to get several inches cut off before I left. They were able to get me in same day. Christine was the one who cut my hair, and I could tell she is passionate about her work. She also seemed very sweet and I felt relaxed in her company. I was a little nervous about getting so much hair cut off, but she took her time and wasn't done until I was satisfied. I've been seeing Christine at Just Hair for about the last nine months or so. She does a great job with color and cuts, although my last cut ended up being a teensy bit shorter than I would have liked. It was not a problem, because I still liked the length. But where I have to give Christine special props is for the hairstyle she created for my wedding. I wanted an updo, but had no real ideas other than that. During the free consultation, she took the time to go over style ideas with me, and discussed my hair type and the likely weather conditions. I got my hair trimmed today by Jill. She was super nice and easy going. It seemed like all of the stylists were the same. I made an appointment this morning for an afternoon slot which was no problem on a weekday. The trim was super nice, and Jill was very thorough. She was able to start my cut a little early too, so she had more time to style my hair afterward. I really appreciated that she didn't just rush me out. Okay...i never write bad reviews but i thought i should as this was the worst hair experience I've ever had. The reviews were super good so i decided to give this place a try as i was fairly new to Eugene and it was right when places were opening back up during COVID. I was really excited to get my hair cut as it had been a while. I have wispy bangs that needed a touch up after not being trimmed for a few months. Lets start with the check in process...I signed a paper and got my temperature and then was told to go wash my hands due to the pandemic. I had never been here before so i had to ask where the bathroom was and the girl at the front desk didn't seem to care too much and seemed annoyed that i was asking and that whatever she was gossiping about was more important than a client. Next, I got taken back to the chair and the stylist asked what i wanted. I told her and showed her a couple of pictures. Keep in mind I've gotten this done before and have never had an issue. She seemed like she understood and then took me to wash my hair. She seemed like she wanted to be anywhere else as she looked around the salon and just carelessly put shampoo in my hair. Then, she rinsed it while still not looking. Because of this she got water in my eyes...honestly I've just never felt like so much of a bother in my whole life. Next is the actual haircut itself, there is no way around this because it was seriously awful. She gave me straight across bangs NOT WISPY and a totally uneven cut. I left not saying anything because honestly I did not want to be there anymore. My boyfriend picked me up and i cried all the way home. I later went to another salon to fix it and the stylist even said she couldn't believe how uneven it was. When you get your hair done you want to feel confident and beautiful but I walked out of Just Hair knowing i would never return. Maybe the stylist was having a bad day, but in my opinion that's no reason to be rude and careless to a client. I just couldn't believe how bad the service was all around. :( read more

This place is nice, affordable, and they always get it right the first time. This is a good place for everything from family haircuts for the kids, to fancy hair styles and dye jobs. An appointment is required, however usually you can get an appointment fairly easy if you call a day ahead. I would recommend Carina. I love this place! I came in today to Just Hair to get a hair glaze and a trim, and it was wonderful. Lauren was my stylist and she went above and beyond. I've wanted to have red hair for years, but never been willing to commit, and Lauren introduced me to hair glazes (they act like a temporary tint), and helped me pick a color. I was split between two shades, but she offered a great solution- she mixed them! It might not seem like a big deal, but I really appreciated it. She washed and curled my hair and it's *so* soft. The one complaint I would have is that I left with minor stains around the crown of my hair- I'm new to hair coloring, and this might just be part of the dye experience, but I don't know. I was able to wash it off mostly with just water and a washcloth, so all in all, not a big deal. The whole experience was great- Lauren was extremely nice and I really felt like she listened to what I wanted, which was a problem for me with previous stylists. I normally have such great experiences here. However, today I had Jordan cut my hair for the first time, and I'm really disappointed in how it turned out. She was friendly and sociable the whole encounter, but never once asked "is this length okay?" "Do you want this shorter?" As I always get pixie cuts, I am used to my hair stylists taking care with the face framing I ask for. Jordan, instead, snipped away without checking in. At the end, I realized too late how much length was gone. I've never been bothered by a haircut this badly before - I've never given a negative review before! And I generally feel MORE feminine with a pixie cut. But this cut is not flattering to my face. I look more like a man/boy than ever in my life. I feel ashamed of my haircut. I feel hideous. This review is a little late but I felt like it was still necessary to post (better late than never !..?) I originally found this place by driving by it everyday and one day noticing they carried my favorite shampoo (Loma). I've been wanting to dye my hair blonde for a bit, and was impressed with what I was seeing already going on so I decided I would check to see how long it would be for an appointment (where I'm from it's usually a couple weeks/months). They actually said a stylist would be available in two days. I scheduled a consultation with Kylia (who is awesome by the way) and she looked at my hair, told me it would take awhile and would be expensive (completely no bullshit which was great because I hate when places overcharge when originally telling me it's gonna be 1/2 the price it comes out too). Overall it took 6 hours to bleaching all of my thick ass hair but she did SUCH an amazing job! Still felt healthy and smooth and didn't have to chop off too much of my ends! Worth every cent. I highly recommend Kylia for coloring or even trimming. She is so wonderful! 10/10 recommend if you want great healthy feeling hair and don't mind spending a little extra money!
