Shorter, to the point review: I HIGHLY recommend this salon!! the clerks and hairstylist are very friendly, knowledgeable, and skilled. Making an appointment was easy, my hair stylist Sarah Baraisto ( I think I spelled her name wrong just ask for Sarah with a "H") totally understood what I wanted and what I didn't want, I even brought in pictures and she was happy to look at them. She did a remarkable job with my hair color and the cut. Everyone in the salon that worked there were impressed as well! Overall I was very VERY impressed with this salon, and incredibly happy with how Sarah did my hair with the balayage highlights and cut. I will definitely be coming back to her for anything/everything hair related! :) Detailed Review: Omg where do I even begin. First off making an appointment with this hair salon was SUPER easy and fast and that is saying something because I absolutely hate calling t make an appointment anywhere. The clerk I talked to was very helpful and nice. Walking into the the salon was very comforting and everyone was so nice, I was honestly relieved. I don't know about you, but I am always scared that when I walk into a hair salon they will be judging me ( I have had very bad experiences at hair salons). That was not this place I checked in with a friendly person at the desk who asked me if she could get me anything to drink, making sure I was comfortable, etc. I waited a couple minutes for my hair stylist, Sarah Baraisto before she brought me back. Now onto my color and cut. I was very specific about the color I wanted to get and the cut. I have not had my hair touched by anyone in over 2 years because the last time I got it cut was a disaster. I brought in pictures and showed her what I wanted and what I absolutely did NOT want. I wanted a light balayage highlight done to my hair, but I did not want anything that looked like regular highlights, nothing that looked orange, or bronzey AT ALL. She totally understood what I wanted and made sure with me that she completely understood what I wanted before she did anything with it. She was so knowledgeable in colors and hair styles! My color: light ombre/balayage color with my natural light brown hair as the base. I did not want any kind of brassy, bronze, or red in my hair and I did not want the balayage high lights to be blonde or too bold. I wanted them to fade nicely from my natural hair into the new color. My cut: I asked for cascading layers with the layers textured so that they would not be blunt. When she was doing my hair she took her time making sure everything was just right with the colors. She offered me something do drink or a magazine which I thought was really nice of her. She was also very personable she asked about me and my mom, who was also getting her hair done, school, etc... She was incredibly awesome and fun to talk to! We basically talked the whole time and I actually really enjoyed it. :) When the color was done she rinsed my hair thoroughly and used a toner on my hair, then cut it. I have to say she did an AMAZING job cutting it as well. then she blow dried it. While using some products which she didn't push on me at all! She would just tell me what this product was used for and how sh was applying it and what else it could be used for. After the style I was INSANELY impressed by the color, the cut, the customer service, just everything! I would HIGHLY recommend this salon, everyone there seems to be well experienced in what they do but if you need a color or cut definitely try and get Sarah Baraisto! My experience at Just Hair is always a pleasant one. From the moment I walk in the door the service is amazing and prompt. Whoever is working up front always offers me a drink (they have great coffee). My current stylist is Liz C and she is the BEST! While I understand that the "industry standard" is to charge women more than men for hair cuts I'm sorry to hear that Just Hair is unwilling to honor a price they charged my male partner (even though we have the same hair cut and require the same maintenance) as they've noted that I will likely "require more". Looking for a stylist and decided to try Just Hair after going to a few other salons. Stylist named Kaylee did my hair both times I went. First time I had to return next day because she didn't do what I asked. After returning it looked really good. It was easy to style, everything I needed. Went back after 6 weeks for a trim. I was going in for a first-time perm and found Sara from another great yelp review of a first-time perm. Because I'd only had my hair cut a handful of times since chopping my dreads off, I was very nervous. Sara was INCREDIBLE! We had a 15-minute consultation a week before my appointment and she answered all of my anxiety-ridden questions and made me feel so comfortable. She explained the entire process of what she was doing and why and showed that her top concern was that I was comfortable the entire time. Well the perm turned out fantastic! We spoke at length about different styles, sizes of rods, what I wanted and I got exactly what I had envisioned. Her warmth, talent, and focus were second to none. She even knocked off 15 bucks off the agreed-upon price because she didn't end up needing to cut my hair and gave me a great deal on my next cut. My hair needed to be styled, as it was 1/2 longer on the right side, the top had been cut too short, the length was so long on the sides and back I had a "Mullet" going on, AND I had wings on each side which were even with my eyes- Yikes! Carina Cooper listened to my concerns, complaints, requests and how I wanted my hair to be styled. Her in-depth explanations addressed all of my concerns and I left with a chic haircut that makes me very happy. I know I have to let my hair grow out in order for her to style it into the desired "shag" style I prefer; however, I will not mind the growing out phase now since my hair looks great and is extremely easy for me to style - just dry naturally for a wavy, curly look, or, pull it out with my fingers while blow-drying for a very straight look (which is a technique Carina taught me.) I will return to Carina for my hair care needs, and do not hesitate to recommend her. She charged me $35 for the cut, which I believe is worth the service she provided. read more

Had an awful experience here. Got my hair cut and colored a few years ago by a stylist who literally said to me after I was roots-deep in the process "I've been off for the past 2 years." This was during the time ombré was in style and that's what I asked for...needless to say I ended up with some VERY natural looking highlights which I expressed to the hair stylist and she got angry and confrontational...don't remember her name but would NOT recommend...just drive to Portland to find a real salon. read more

Went in for a lip and brow waxing. She burned the area above my lip on left side. It is a large burn and it really is painful. I went in to show the business and the stylist told the front counter person she was too busy to meet with me. Really? After asking to speak with the owner is in another country, the stylist came out and only offered me $10 back. She did keep the tip I gave her. Terrible! Now this was just one stylist but a self proclaimed manager did nothing to make it better. They told me to purchase aleovera and appy it to the burn. I asked if they had a product to appy and they told me to purchase it. I just hope I don't end up with a scar. read more

I finally bit the bullet, looked online and found some good reviews for Just Hair. I was scheduled with Christian who was relatively new there so there were no reviews on his work. I had to go on faith and I'm so glad I did because I just found my new hairdresser! Christian listened very carefully to my concerns and what I wanted then conferred with another colorist before mixing my color. He was very meticulous, talkative and a real pro. I'm so pleased not only with the color, but the cut and style. Trying to keep my hair longer for a long as possible but Christian encouraged me to cut a little more around my face so I reluctantly agreed. Christian did my haircut and the best highlight I've ever got in my life. My original hair is black and I had brown highlights. So it was very hard to highlight all my hair (he did more than 50 foils) into light blond with a natural look, but he did a great job. He spent as much as time needed to make sure I'm happy with my hair's color. He has real dedication to his clients' satisfaction. I have been going to Just Hair for about a year and a half. My hairdresser is Brooke. She is fantastic!!! I get my hair streaked and then alternately get gray cover touch ups. She goes the extra mile to make sure when I leave that my hair is styled just perfectly. Recently I was visiting out of state and could not be back for my appt, so I got a box dye from the store. Of course the color was noticeably different at the roots, but when I got back and went to Brooke, you could not tell the difference, she blended it in perfectly. I hate to even recommend her, because then she might be too busy and popular, lol. Also when she is on vacation, I have had Jill do my hair and she is great as well. I just had my hair cut and styled by stylist Brandy. She was so great the whole time! I told her I was ready for a change from my boring mid length current style. I told her I was a new mom and time was a luxury I rarely could afford to spend on my hair. It used to require a lot to leave the house in something other than a pony tail. She listened closely to what I was asking for. When I showed her with my hands how short I was willing to go, she wanted to double check and confirm again before even touching the scissors to my hair. It was short but amazing! She took the time to walk me thru the styling process, even letting me flat iron as she showed how. I have been able to replicate this look on my own for a week now!
