To business owner: fire your rude waiter Worst waiter ever. Just walked out restaurant right now. Received the food with just a bottle of beer and coke can. Asked for cups but told me to wait. Waited over 10 mins and got all of our food already. Asked him nicely please give us a cup with ice. He said wait "too far to get the cup and the ice" From the beginning he was so rude throwing plates. Get a new job if getting cups is too far for you. This is a mild splurge. The restaurant is located on the lower level of Tangram. The interior design is impressive and provides a unique experience no matter where you sit. You can reserve a room for additional privacy. They utilize service buttons, which entails prompt service. Lucky Bag- This had a cooling and robust flavor profile. Pickled Cabbage thing- Tasty if you are into tangy food. Juqi Homemade Roast Duck- Overhyped, under delivered but still good. Mapo Tofu- The sea cucumbers provide a chewyness that you wouldn't normally get with just tofu. Smoked Pork Knuckles- It comes with a side of pancake pockets or Chinese pitas. The names are terribly incorrect but I was filling them up with the meat and smearing the sauces on it. Spicy Vancouver Crab- Taste good but not spicy. Stewed Assorted Seafood w. Vermicelli - Neutral reaction. Juqi Crispy Shrimp- Reminds me of Mayo Shrimp but crispier and sweeter. Spicy & Sour Sliced Fish Soup - The fish was silky smooth and the soup was peppery. Juqi Fried Rice With Cured Chinese- The missing words should be Pork Belly. Some people say it tastes like Lap Cheong but I think it tastes more like Lap Yuk. Seafood Hot & Sour Soup- The name of the soup is accurate. The stir fried duck carcass was the unexpected highlight of the meal. It is an exquisite drinking snack. Food looks good, presentation was good but the food itself was meh. The peaking duck was suppose to be the best dish on their menu but it was quite disappointing. The experience of having the duck cut in front of you was quite nice and the display was great. But if you want food that taste good I would recommend looking else where. The duck was dry,cold, and super oily. The fried rice was very small and tasted like normal clay pot rice with some squid ink to get the black color. The yogurt was okay but not worth the price. If you're looking for a instagram restaurant this might be a good fit for you. As for me I would look else where. read more

Absolutely love this place. From the aesthetic to the food, every detail was very well done. Even my grandmother enjoyed her experience. From the moment you step into the restaurant, it transports you to Beijing. The service was good but they could also be a bit more attentive. Now let's talk about the food...IT'S AMAZING!! Every dish we ordered were all very delicious. The portions are small but that only means you can try more dishes which is an absolute must when you're here. Of course, you can't leave here without trying their Peking duck! This place will use the bones from the duck to make you a complementary soup. I can't say enough good things about this restaurant. I see there is a half Beijing duck for $59. As a solo diner, can i order this and get the full experience with buns, crispy skin, soup etc served in multiple courses?

You will not get the entire experience as with getting the whole duck. With the half, you will only get the steam wraps along side the duck. You will then get to choose btwn the soup or the fried bones. So you get a two course meal.

The black beans and white rice that came with it was decent. What might bring me back to this restaurant sooner rather than later was the Shrimp Egg Foo Young (foo Young Con Camarones). I felt that the eggs were cooked extremely well, but the star of the show was that delicious brown sauce full of umami. Having this over white or fried rice made this meal much more acceptable. I'm not sure when I'll have another craving for this type of food. If I do, I'll definitely get the egg foo young again. However, the other dishes were misses for me, so maybe I'll try the Fried Pork Chops and Shredded Beef in Tomato SayceRopa Vieja.

The restaurant's decor and ambiance were beautiful, creating a warm, upscale atmosphere while maintaining a casual and inviting vibe. For the food, we ordered three dishes: 1. Signature Peking Duck (Half) - This dish lived up to its reputation. The duck skin was perfectly crispy, and the meat was tender and juicy. Served with pancakes, scallions, cucumber, and sauce, it was a highlight of the meal and very satisfying. 2. Eggplant Of That Autumn Year - A comforting and flavorful dish. The eggplant was cooked to perfection - soft and rich in taste, enhanced with savory sauces and spices. 3. Glutinous Rice Roll With Sweet Bean - A delightful and slightly sweet end to the meal. The texture of the rice roll was chewy yet soft, with the sweet bean paste adding just the right amount of sweetness without being overpowering.
